Of the 50 journalists on the ground in Gaza (residents) 35 have been killed.

If you haven’t already I highly recommend following them on instagram.

Are you sure the News channel is not being run by Hamas? And what do you mean by independent watchdog - the funds are coming through the hamas tunnels.

Further to this, there is SO much misinformation coming from official channels too

Israels official twitter channels have pictures of paramedics doing chest compressions on a girl, with the caption saying this is fake because they are doing it on the wrong side. Red cross have verified the picture and the procedure.

That's just one. Official channels are repeating the same. It's all over my FB, pictures of bleeding and barely alive children with captions of these being cgi images.

There is so, so money going into Israeli PR. It's not just annoying fake news on the Internet. This has real repercussions for real people. We all hold a personal responsibility for what we say and do on the Internet. Buying into, and perpetuating this narrative that there is no murder going on in Palestine is a part of allowing and enabling the war to continue. It's being part of a mass numbing or silencing that allowed all the other genocides, holocaust and tragedies to take place over the last few centuries. Do we really want to look back at our lives and think we had a part to play in the death of another?

It was absolutely harrowing to watch the Al Jazeera journalist return to work after his family has been killed, did anyone watch that?

I don’t agree with war either.

Before 7 October it was not a war, just the daily harassment, intimidation, imprisonment and occasional killing unarmed civilians and children in the open air prison or in the occupied territories. I don’t agree with that either but for some reason most people didn’t mind that as it didn’t invade their daily newsfeed.

i do not agree with Hamas. However the context of their actions can be explained by the words of John F Kennedy.

@Chaitales I've seen a lot of influencers saying they've been contacted by shady types offering them thousands of dollars to change their content to a pro-Israeli govt stance. Propaganda to the max.

So many brave men and women.

The horrors they must have witnessed, in their determination to speak to the outside world on behalf of the voiceless.

If you search the #hamasisisis you'll probably find some of the people who have been paid to post proIsrael posts. That is one of the # people are being paid to use, Israel is very keen align the two in people's mind and they provide 'resources' that people can use.

I saw a girl in the UK was dropped by some brand for posting a pro Palestinian story, then told that if she retracted it and made a pro Israel post they would be willing to pay her double.

Wix an Israeli software company with 500 employees in Dublin has told staff to create social media content bolstering Israel’s ‘narrative’ in its war on Gaza, according to leaked internal messages.

There are whole organisations dedicated to this stuff. When Ireland was having a ref on abortion there were American organisations paying people to post pro life shit. It's nothing new really.

Real people are posting live footage on Instagram. Real children crying for their parents, trauma and shock in their eyes, limbs being carried, parents holding onto dead bodies of their children and loved ones. But those are deemed "fake", while paid and threateed social media posts are meant to be believed.

I read on another thread about the discrediting of the hostage being found by the IDF really being a hostage.
It's sickening.
Both sides are twisting and releasing endless propaganda. It's not a new thing.
Was used in WW2 in all sides of the spectrum.

This is a known tactic of Israel. It isn't kept a secret at all. I mean you say yourself Israel are doing it so I don't really know what your problem is? You're right it is sick and kind of sad(but not surprising) that Israel has to buy support.

I said 'both sides' but I assume you are going to take from that what you will.

The videos of kids being blown up aren't propoganda. It is happening.

And neither were the atrocities on October 7th and the children that were killed. Need the tik toc of that to make it real?

Here we go again. It has not been confirmed this was an Israeli strike. They're saying it wasn't them. It was caught on camera and they're saying it was a horizontal attack, so quite possibly Hamas (/PIJ) misfire again. Let's wait and find out first before jumping to conclusions.

@Parkingt111 this the problem with the constant flow of misinformation as soon as it happens. It gives no time for a measured response.
