Placards from antisemitic marches in London

I had written this as a response to the other thread which was closed as it was overrun by antisemitic d**ks. As I'm sure this one will be too. They can't allow us to share the truth of what is being said and done in our own home towns and cities.

Look at these images. No, they are not in the minority or unusual. Here are just a few of many, many overtly antisemitic placards from Saturday's protest in London. (And a bonus one from 2021, which the lovely John McDonnell also spoke at.)

This is MY HOME. I am Jewish. My family fled pogroms in Eastern Europe and Nazis in Germany. Those family members who didn't flee were murdered for being Jews. And here we fucking are again. In London. And people defending it.

This is NOTHING TO DO WITH ISRAEL. These are Jew-haters, the faces of hate, the faces of anger and mockery, openly calling for Jews, for me, my family, my children, my parents, to be murdered, in my home city.

And people are defending it. How the fuck do you think we feel?

Eh?!
They are not anti-Semitic at all 🤦🏻‍♀️

What people find offensive is not that Arabs speak a semitic language. Hence why you keep going on about them being Semities.

People are mostly just bemused that you seem to lack a basic understanding of what antisemitism is and the group it was invented by the nazis to refer too. Antisemitism was used by the nazis to refer to Jew hate. They didn't use it for any other group. Especially the Palestinians because they actually had their own troop in the German army, as well as fighting along side the Germans in the middle east.

@Trulywonderful What have I said here that suggests I lack an understanding of anti-Semitism?

They are not anti-Semitic at all 🤦🏻‍♀️

Even the "don't let them do the same again" sign? Are you serious?

Ecdysiast · 08/11/2023 00:28

@noblegiraffe Not true. And by the way, criticism of Israel is just as legitimate as criticism of any other state. Israel is not immune to criticism just because it defines itself as a Jewish state. Judiasm and Zionism are not the same, as much as some may like to intimidate people into believing.

But since you seem keen on definitions, what would be the appropriate word to describe the people in this video, cheering for the decimation of Gaza?

noblegiraffe · 08/11/2023 00:30

Omg you’re doing it again.

Ecdysiast · 08/11/2023 00:34

@noblegiraffe omg doing what?

noblegiraffe · 08/11/2023 00:36

Trying to derail a thread about antisemitism.

That was a tortured segue and a half.

Trulywonderful · 08/11/2023 00:37

'To mark Remembrance Sunday, the Jewish community is being invited to lay down Magen David markers in the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey.

The Royal British Legion Field of Remembrance has been overseen by The Poppy Factory since 1928. At this year’s 95th Field of Remembrance, AJEX - the Jewish Military Association will lay 200 Magen David markers that will represent the thousands of Jewish men and women who gave their lives in battle.

A spokesperson for AJEX said: “AJEX would like to lay markers for any family members who served in the British or Commonwealth armed forces and was killed in action.”

The Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey will be officially opened on Thursday 9 November and accessible to the public from 1pm to 4pm. From Friday 10 until Sunday 19 November, the field is scheduled to be open from 9am to 4pm, though these times may change.

noblegiraffe · 08/11/2023 00:41

Keep trying, Truly

Ecdysiast · 08/11/2023 00:43

@noblegiraffe Not trying to derail anything. But nice way to avoid my question about the people in the video.

With all the talk on this thread about chants and hate speech I was genuinely hoping someone would be able to offer an answer.

noblegiraffe · 08/11/2023 00:49

Disingenuous.

What happened at school?

Did you mention up thread something about graffiti?

My school has been OK so far. Very multi culture London secondary school that is constantly reminding everyone to be kind to each other even before all this. The trust and SLT have basically not said a word and give off the vibe staff shouldn't either. So nobody is talking about the conflict a school. Which feels odd because we talk about every other event or issue going.

Disingenuous.

I would have gone for numpty personally

However you were always more mature with your words than me

noblegiraffe · 08/11/2023 01:24

Did you mention up thread something about graffiti?

Swastikas. We get them occasionally but I've not seen one in a long while so the timing seems raw.

We're doing assemblies on the conflict I think. Not heard anything from the kids about it yet.

noblegiraffe · 07/11/2023 23:40

Funny, because I recall you trying to redefine antisemitism to cover Palestinians in order to try to derail a thread about antisemitism into criticism of Israel. Weird.

This 💯

And now antisemitism doesn't even exist.

Where do these people get off?

You do know antisemitism existed before Israel was founded don't you 🙄

I am sure Israel will take you suggestion into account

Now what does this have to do with antisemitism in the UK and Jew hate at marches????

Both the same? Really? Because if the Israeli are making lists of every single Palestian, systematically rounding them up onto cattle trucks and gassing them in their millions, then the world needs to see it. Where's your evidence?

Sir Mark said he was concerned about the escalating risk of disorder caused by splinter groups breaking off from the main demonstration, saying the threat posed by them would be monitored this week.

He said the force was "never afraid to use the law to its full effect" but suggested banning the march at a late stage could create problems for police.

He continued: "If you've got tens of thousands of people coming from across the country, and they know their absolute right to protest means the gathering itself can't be banned, the chaos that comes into this because of last-minute changes in plans and those issues can make it more difficult."

He said if the Met "comes to the view that our existing tactics and control measures" aren't sufficient, then the force "will go to the Home Secretary, but not before that point".

Quite - I recommend folk read that article.

He also says (do read it Rishi, Braverman and other stirrers)
"While there have been arrests on previous protests - including for serious offences - the Met chief told the BBC he would not class the scale as "major disorder".
Useful context.

Totally on topic

I was wondering if you knew about Ford and you have answered that question for me

I am now left wondering if your username is just a coincidence considering the some of your posts on different threads 🤔

We have had other posters with usernames that literally what their opinion of Jews are. I am wondering if all very relevant to this thread and posters. So not derailing but highlighting.

Well now we really are in the land of conspiracies/hidden hands. Anything I write can't quell your pondering but it's all quite simple - like most folks my name thought up on a whim, if anything just recalls two cars from family deep history.
So sleep easy
Ford is not a homage to ant-semitism.
Anglia does not mark me as a rabid nationalist.
Harry Potter is not a secret anti semitic text.
Am out of this thread - will leave it to the echo chamber.

I literally attached the link to article to my post for further reading 😶

What an odd response
