Congratulations, Kirsty, brilliant news. Hope you don't go pop today with keeping such a fantastic secret at work.

Bad luck, Karstan. I think the chiller at the back of the bus is well-stocked with Pinot.

Congrats Kirsty! A graduate! Brilliant!

Still not got any bloody internet at new house, so I am just having to take a sneaky peek at this fabulous bus on my lunchbreak and feel like I'm missing out on all the fun .

Well, I am officially on the 2ww, day 6! Its flying by this cycle, maybe because I don't have much hope we've done it this month, cos I got a spate of EWCM about a week before I actually OVd and, erm, peaked a little too early. I was convinced I'd OVd then but temp shift happened about a week later and I had a tiny amount of EWCM again just before, so only managed SWI once in our window of opportunity .

Can't wait to hear about all the BFPs coming up over the next few days

Karstan sorry you had a BFN this month, but I have also dreamt I had a miniature baby in the past and wanted to share it with you. It was about the size of a kidney bean and I lost it down my top after trying to latch it on. Very distressing.

Zidonie · 22/07/2010 13:16

Excellent news Kirsty ! Congratulations!

This morning I counted that when I add the time TTC#1 and TTC#2 I will have spent 3 bloody years of my life TTC-ing.

I'm gong to drink throughout my 2ww to tempt fate.

Good luck everyone, I hope to see many BFP on that bus!

Prinpo · 22/07/2010 13:28

Zidonie, just totted up my stats and I've spent:

26 months ttc.
24 months pregnant (2 dc 2mcs)
24 months breastfeeding

All in all, that's a whopping 74 months without alcohol .

Come on Loopy, and others who already have 3 or more dcs. Let's hear your stats.

And yes, I am trying to pass the time until I can test .

Kirsty Congratulations!!! Fantastic news, just the pick me up we all needed... there is hope!! Have you told anyone in RL?

Karstan Sorry to hear that, stay positive and next month is your month

No news here, not daring to test again till the weekend atleast. No signs of AF either though, although I have been very very grumpy today. Pregnancy hormones hopefully!

Prinpo · 22/07/2010 14:13

Loopy, I'm impressed by your record. Wow, does he basically look at you and it happens?

We were lucky with our first and it didn't take too long with the second but then we ttc for 10 months (then mc), 5 months (then mc) and now we're on month 7. Perhaps it's part of getting older .

On the subject of getting older, DD1 asked about why some people wear deodorant this morning. I took it as an opportunity to talk about puberty and asked her what other changes she thought happened as a child's body became more like a grown-ups. She paused for a moment and then said, "You get a bit chubby and your hair turns grey?"

No pocket money for her this weekend.

Can i join please?

TTCing child no 4 and pleased to see several others at the same stage! CD25..but not sure how long my cycles are as have just come off mini pill..

This is the first month so I am getting far too overexcited with symptom spotting and could do with some TTCing pals for when I come crashing down with AF next week...

Looking at stats I have no idea what UCL means...University College London? Or is it some fiendishly complicated new way of monitoring fertility?

I have spent a grand life total of 10 months ttcing. 20 months pregnant (twins, MC, singleton). 18 months breastfeeding.

Prinpo I love your story, sounds like my DC. They often sit with my face in their hands, regaling me with a list of "interesting" marks on my face.

They particulary like my teeth "Which are just a little bit yellow Mummy, even though you are old like Granny and hers are all yellow.."

To my four year olds, anyone over about 9 years old may as well be 70 years old..

Well that's what I'm hoping and not that I just look a good 30 years older than I am!

Wombat33 · 22/07/2010 15:25

Hello. I'm new to MN but about to start TTC (and very excited about it!). Everyone seems very nice here and I'm impressed by the amount of chocolate!! Can I join your bus??

Tamashii · 22/07/2010 15:42

Hi again - just wondering what the average Luteal Phase is since I have recently found out mine is short at 11 days and sometimes (more recently) 7 or 9...

Karstan · 22/07/2010 16:11

Hi wombat, still plenty of room and chocolate on the April bus. If you use the ovulation calculator on this site you should be able to get a guesstimate of a due date based on cycle length and date of last af. I think from your post on the May thread you can have a little ride on the April bus first (not a stalker honest was just checking out the bus I have to get on next)

zinnia · 22/07/2010 16:32

There's a May thread already? Typical. Whichever bus I get on always gets overtaken before the end of the route.
(or have I tortured this metaphor too much already?)

Tamashii according to the ovulation calculator on this very site the average luteal phase "can be anything from 10 to 16 days but, on average, it's 14."

Wombat33 · 22/07/2010 16:55

Thanks Karstan, you're right - according to the calculator on here I can ride this bus for a bit, although I might end up being the last on on here! Haven't quite got the hang of the calculations yet...

For those on this thread, my stats are:
Wombat33 TTC#1 Cycle 1 UCL31 (ish) CD3

Hello everyone

passes around chai tea lattes and chocolate fudge brownies (my favourites)

Karstan · 22/07/2010 17:02

Yay, I must admit to a little bit of self interest in encouraging people away from the May bus . I don't want to be all lonely by myself on the bus, I'm here until they say "Last stop, all change please"!

Daft question of the day, ladies:

SWI'd this morning following negative OPK thingy last night. This evening, bloody OPK thingy is (finally) positive. DH will not have the energy to be jumped again today (poor DH) - do you reckon tomorrow morning will be too late?

I do hope not.

15 tests, ljg ??? Good stuff

Redone list...me clinging to bumper

UniMummy · 22/07/2010 20:33

This might be a really stupid question, but what does 'luteal phase' mean?

Karstan · 22/07/2010 20:39

Right, junk food binge over (i've eaten crisp sandwiches and chocolate for tea!). Going to try and be healthy again. Actually found that this ttc thing has tapped into previously unknown reserves of willpower, with regards to eating healthily. Seems easier when I think about it not just being for my benefit.

I know the moment I get pregnant, morning sickness and hormonal cravings will mean eating right might go out the window so best be as healthy as possible before starting.
