Ooh, that reminds me unimummy, does anyone know what's the latest you can get a bfn and still be pregnant?

Anecdote or data is fine, I think I've heard of people getting a bfn when they were over a week late and still being pregnant

Hi lemonsherbet and ladygonegaga i have also just joined this bus but have been hoping on and off various buses for a while now!

unimummuy i also like to wave my sticks up at the window in the hope that by some miracle a line will suddenly appear think we all go quite crazy somewhere along the ttc line!

Karstan I was getting BFN till I was 6 weeks with DS but I'm not sure what the lastest is in general.

Starting to think the same about ebay ones ljg72, might have to fork out for an expensive one soon!

i was get bfn with thomas up until i was 8 weeks. so i thought i must have just had a reeeeealaallllly long cycle and i must only be 4 weeks. was a shock at the 12 week scan when they told me i was 17 weeks gone!

there always hope when no af is there! lol

ljg I have never got a 1st BFP with internet cheapies... but I have used them to watch the line get darker.. Who was it that has ordered a job lot to do that if they can? I am just the same...

I have also worked out I got my first positive at 10dpo back in Feb, and 16dpo in June. So testing today at 8dpo was a very very stupid thing to do...

ah does that mean the cheapy ov sticks might not work as well? i only missed one day of testing but all were negative, it was CD13 but i have 30-31 day cycle so i guess it could have been a little early. i spose i should pull my finger out and start charting but i'm too lazy/disorganised/scared of going completely nuts etc. didnt get a chance to SWI anyway apart from about 4 days before that and if the OHs jizz test is correct it'd be a miracle if any of em hung about that long.

ljg, best bet is to invest in an own brand boots one, same as clear blue by all accounts except for early prediction. if you are 3 days late then it should work.

delilah...I agree a job lot of ebay cheapies for £3 are never going to be brilliant!!, but because of my addiction to POAS it's the only way I can fund my habit...i even took my last neg test outside in the garden to see if it looked different in natural light! wtf!!! loosing it, big time.

You have plenty of days left to test, any more symptoms or dreams?.

Salad I never got a result with cheapie ov sticks, so invested in a second hand CBFM, this is my first month of using it.
Made me feel better knowing I was "normal?" as it showed peaks on day 16, which is average I think?. I also started charting on F.F...and yes I am totally obsessed already!, doesn't help that a few months ago fell pregnant without trying!, but it didn't stick.
Seems the more you focus on it the longer it takes?

Oh blimey, does that mean i wasted a whole five pounds? just googled the CBFM, thats a whole new world. the OH already thinks i am psychotic about this baby making bizness so not sure what he'd think if i bought one of those. Having said that if it works for you quick smart, you can always sell it on to me. I'd rather see it as a lucky charm if it worked first time :D

I use the ebay cheapie ov sticks and i always get a positive but i test twice a day (mid-morning and mid-afternoon) around the time i think i'll be ov-ing and the positive doesn't always last all day.

This site is really good for explaining why you sometimes need to POAS twice in a day with OPKs.

Hi ljg not really any more symptoms.. except my boobs have got MEGA sore. They are normally sore round OV, then get less sore towards AF, but this month they have gone sore - ok - sore - f-ing painful if that makes sense.

Still having one or two minor minor crampy niggles, but nothing concrete.

I expect I will be testing again tomorrow... even though I know I shouldn't. AND I have ordered another 25 tests online. The thinking being, if I'm prengnant I can do one a day and watch the line get darker, if I'm not they will do for next month.

Salad If it makes you feel better I usually get two days of positives with the ebay cheapy opks only testing once (early evening) and the lines stay, so I guess eveyone is different. It is worth trying them anyway.

I have just had some good news. I had to phone the tax credit people to check something and they told me they owed me a nice wad of cash.....will stash it for baby things I think...positive thinking and all!!

ohh thanks for that bicnod interesting. i wont give up just yet. I thought the best time was mid afternoon, but as i didnt really want to do it in work i have been waiting til 7 pm when i get home. maybe if i do one at 7 am as well then i will catch it but then i thought i read somewhere you wernt sposed to use the first pee of the day. i suppose the answer would be to do it in work but that just raised all sorts of logistical problems...

also at what point in a cycle does it become pointless to continue testing?

Salad def don't use FMU or anything too early 7pm is much better....it gets stronger through the day aparrently.
As for when it becomes pointless....probably when you run out like I did this month lol. Especially if you do twice a day as suggested by many.

stuffed Excellent luck, it's obviously a sign! I have tried not to think about how much baby stuff is likely to cost. It will be the first grandchild on my side though, so hopefully my parents will contribute a bit

salad can't advise I'm afraid as I don't really do OPK - just millions of HPT. Everybody else's advice sounds good though.

Am off for a long weekend tomorrow, so will be only looking in occasionally on my phone, hoping to come back on Monday to at least one BFP...

Also a first timer and loving the bus! Me and my glass of vino are off to the loo to do an OPK. salad we are in similar boats I think, I am like you 5 days later. I am also using eBay OPK cheapies for the first time and testing at 7pm ish because I cannot faff with urine cups, dipping and waiting etc whilst at work.... so can only feasibly do once per day. I am getting either no line or a sooooo faint you can barely see it sort of line, have done 3 so far. Not feeling like I should graduate to the CBFM quite yet. Also resisting the urge to put legs in the air etc etc , give me a couple of cycles eh?

I also can't imagine the mania that will ensue when we get a BFP - pressure cooker, much?!

oh nooo stuffed, I thought you were supposed to poas first thing in the morning, I always drink tons of water in the office so had assumed that everything would be too diluted in the evening (like salad and ravenlocks am not faffing around with it all at work).

Does this mean I need to wait till this time next week before I test? Am going to go nuts by then! (will be 14 dpo, I think)
