Hi girls, this is the new, combined thread. I figured that only those lucky enough to manage it this month would make it into spring, so I'm aiming for a big summer belly. Good luck to all of us!

i'm on cd26. AF is due on Friday.... just had a call from my sister. she is pg but is still in shock as she was not expecting this all all.

Micku5 · 23/08/2005 16:58

Nooooooooooo don't do it. I took 4 tests last month when i was late and i kept setting myself up for disappointment.

Micku5 · 23/08/2005 18:00

So did you give in??

LilacLotus · 23/08/2005 18:05

well i gave in. DP said something to me that wasn't at all upsetting and i burst into tears. i've been feeling so emotional. but it was BFN of course as AF isn't due for a couple of days. silly me!

Cooweee · 23/08/2005 18:22

hello

i have been around for a couple of years but change my name now and then as i have lots of friends who also come on here and one guessed who i was recently so i changed again - its so annoying and i feel like a fraud by pretending to be new so i am not but please dont try guess who i am.

anyway i have been watching this thread and decided that i gues i am in the same boat as you all now so i am going to join you if you dont mind.

i am 28
dp 29
dd 2.5
ttc - decided to a few months ago and we have just been relaxed about it all but i have to say i am now starting to feel like "is it going to happen" i did not want to have to start buying ovulation kits and testing my temperature etc. I think all that takes the fun out of it and I am sure I would feel less turned on if i knew that all my charts said i must have sex that day. I guess though its easy to say that at such an early stage of ttc and next month I maybe trying everything
Goodluck to you and send me some luck too!

sarjon · 23/08/2005 20:29

Just wanted to welcome Strike1 and Cooweee to this thread!

And also wish littlestarsweeper lots of love and luck. Got my fingers crossed for you that this is actually your time.

xx

Dana · 24/08/2005 08:04

Good morning!!

Welcome to puppy, strike1 and Cooweee and good luck - this thread is really picking up now!!

LilacLotus, sorry about BFN, but would def. say too early, if AF not due till sun/mon. Wait until the weekend and try again. The waiting is so hard though, isn't it.

Lovecloud, I sometimes get crumbly disharge between ov and AF, so no sign of pg for me, but if it's unusual for you, who knows.... fingers crossed.

Littlestarsweeper, are you still bleeding? So hope this isn't the end for you!!

MandM (if you're still about), how are you? Are you getting all the symptoms now that you know for sure?

I am feeling pretty crap today, have a nasty cold, but really busy at work (as you can tell ), so can't take a sick day. DH and DS also sick, so no sympathy at home

Ok, moan over! Hello to everyone not mentioned above, hope you are all well

homemama · 24/08/2005 09:30

Motning all!
Nothing to report here. The tender breasts have eased a bit now so I think I was just hormonal. AF due Sat and then we can get on with trying as we'll have moved by then.
Welcome to all the new girls and good luck to you all!
Dana, I keep meaning to ask which part of Scotland you're in? I used to live near Glasgow.

puppy · 24/08/2005 09:52

Thanks Dana and Homemama good luck to you too

Hows everyone doing?

This morning the bad taste has got worse, Sorry if this is too much info but i have even run to the toilet to be sick only to gip iykwim, the cramps are still here but now its closer to af time i'm finding myslef going to the toilet constantly to see if its arrived.

Fell out with DH last night, he told me off for going on about it constantly

I keep telling myself not to test till at least sunday , its a hard wait isn't it.

Artoo · 24/08/2005 10:42

Warm welcome to Strike1 and Cooweee, this thread is a fun place to hang out

puppy - those symptoms are sounding really positive to me. Try to hold off testing until next week if you can, I know it's tough.

Littlestarsweeper - huge hugs, I really hope this isn't the end for you - it was sounding so good with two BFPs Is it an AF-type bleed, or smaller? I think you should try testing again next week, and speak to your clinic to see if there's anything they recommend or can do to test.

Hugs to everyone else
Artoo.

strike1 · 24/08/2005 10:44

Morning all, thankyou all for the welcomes

I'm mid cycle (i think) at the moment and have bad low back pain, which I'm hoping signals ov but by cm (sorry tmi) hasn't gone watery yet. What does this mean? I've think ov will happen at the weekend but I'm confused by the period like back ache.

Hope you're all well.

Lovecloud, I know how hard it is to resist testing, I spent a fortune last month and wouldn't believe the BFN until AF arrived
So resist....as long as poss anyway

Cooweee · 24/08/2005 18:29

Hello

strike1- i noticed actually around my last ovulation date that I did not really get a stringy discharge that i normally get, does that mean i did not ovulate this month and is it normal to not ovulate every month?

you just got me thinking...

Littlestarsweeper - how are you?

Littlestarsweeper · 24/08/2005 20:37

Hi all, thanks for all your good wishes and love. Im still bleeding. Popped into doctor today and had a quick chat. She said the hormone for pg stays in system for at least two weeks so not to attempt another test until then.

Arrrrrrrrrg, more waiting. I think although there is a slight possibility one of the 3 embryos have hung on it would be very doubtful.

Off to Pontins for a week (class eh!) good luck and ta ra for now.

jersey · 25/08/2005 08:38

Good luck Littlestarsweeper I hope one is hanging on for you.

I'm due on today, only 2 more months to go before we can start. Trying to sort out child care for when we have 2! MIL looks after DS at moment but not sure she can cope with 2! Don't want to put either into nursey, can't afford to stop working so saving like mad and trying to sort out how much we will lose by working 4 0r 3 days a week.

When do they start playgroup and how long to they spend there? Anyone know.

Sorry moaning again!!

puppy · 25/08/2005 08:57

Morning all,

Jersey just looked at my sons nursery school website and its says children age 2 1/2yrs to pre school and held each morning between 9am and 11.30am.
Children of nursery school age can bring a packed lunch at an additional cost and stay at school for a full day 9 am to 3 pm.

Have you considered a childminder?

jersey · 25/08/2005 09:22

Yes but DH dead against so is MIL and not sure how much one would cost either.

But if we get lucky and I get preg in dec/jan then DS will be 2 yrs and 2/3 months, so by time I go back to work he can go to playgroup in the mornings. MIL will only have both in the afternoons poss. 4 days a week. Maybe not so bad for her then.

Thanks Puppy

puppy · 25/08/2005 09:59

I'm a childminder myself and depending on region fees are between 2 to 6 pounds from what i have seen some playgroups close during school holidays. Hope you work something out.

littlestarsweeper i really do hope one of your embryo has hung on too, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Ok guys i caved in and took another hpt, it was a very very faint positive, i could barely see it but i definatly did not imagine it. It was a cheap hpt (85p) so DH is going to buy a more expensive one and will test again with it in a couple of days.

jersey · 25/08/2005 10:14

Fingers crossed Puppy, my first with DS was faint as well, but was positive!!

Thanks for your help.

Dana · 25/08/2005 10:50

Puppy, sounds very promising, let us know as soon as you do another test (if it was me I would have been down to the chemist and back by now )

Littlestarsweeper, still keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Cooweee, As far as I know, it is quite normal not to ovulate every month.

Homemama, confession time . I no longer live in Scotland. Dragged DH and DS back to Denmark a wee while ago. Didn't want to say on here as friends and family in Scotland don't know we're TTC, and some of them use MN. This extra bit of info along with stats etc will most likely give me away. But since you asking out right, I don't want to lie about it. (Don't feel bad for asking, btw ) I have stayed both in and just outside Glasgow and still miss it lots. Especially miss the fact that you have city life and beautiful scenery all within a 20 mile radius!! Could go on and on, but won't

How's the move going?

homemama · 25/08/2005 11:16

Sorry Dana, I feel awful for asking Hopefully, none of them are TTC and so wont have seen this thread.
I lived in Lenzie and Kirkintilloch. Glasgow is a beautiful city.
Cooweee, I think as you get older, it becomes more common not to OV every month.
Puppy, can't believe you have the willpower to wait. I'd be straight out to buy more tests.
Hello to everyone else.

Oh and up to my neck in boxes!

OP posts:
Dana · 25/08/2005 11:23

Homemama, please don't feel bad!! How were you meant to know?

Always wanted to stay in Lenzie, but the houses were a bit to expensive. Stayed about 5 min. from there the last year though.

puppy · 25/08/2005 11:57

I haven't the will power as af is due on sunday but thought i would test today as i usually spot a few days before and wasn't fully sure if cd1 would have been from day one of spotting (i'm not spotting as i should be, as yet?)

Just sent this text to my husband:
hi can you get preg test on yr way home, from morrisons, pack of 2 so i can double check lol

Dana · 25/08/2005 12:21

Puppy, no chemist round the corner??

homemama · 25/08/2005 12:25

lol Puppy, I hope you'd told him about the first test otherwise the text may have come as a bit of a shock

Dana, talking about it makes me want to go back. I went to St Ninians school in Kirky, do you know it? (probably shouldn't post that but, oh well)
I'll stop asking you questions now - don't want to out you
