Yay!!! Congrats Harry2007! That's excellent news! Let's hope you started a trend!!

Missyraines · 01/08/2010 17:14

Oooooooo well done Harry. Gosh 7 days before. You were brave to test. FX for a positive scan and I'll look forward to hearing all about it as it gives us all hope in what we all have coming (some day)

Harry2007 · 01/08/2010 17:25

Thanks both! I had a cheap Internet test in the drawer missyraines don't know why I did it to be honest. I used a few of them when I last found out I was pregnant and they weren't very reliable. When I saw a v.faint line on the cheapy, I went out to buy a first response to confirm. I didn't even think that I'd ovulated from my good side this month but it may offer an explanation for the pain I felt last week - it could have been implantation which probably irritated the scar tissue around the missing Fallopian tube.

PinkCustard · 01/08/2010 18:27

Wow congrats Harry, we were due a BFP on here!

AF got me, so I'm back to day 1 today

StormBird · 01/08/2010 19:37

Hi everyone,

Congrats Harry I'm so chuffed for you - see I knew we'd get a BFP on here soon.

Sorry AF got you Pinkcustard Big hugs xx

Wow,.....again there's so much to read through. I'm getting a bit slack with keeping up to date with all the goings on. I promise I'll read through the posts as soon as the hangover disappears.

Yes, my head is really really sore. Was on a hen night in Brighton last night, it was a messy one. I ummed and ahhed over whether I should drink or not seeing as we're TTC and 8/9DPO but in the end I just decided to let my hair down. Any way I did an early PG test (one of those cheapie dip test things) on 7DPO to try and put my mind at ease and it was a BFN so although I know these results can change I just took that as it meaning its not my month this month.

Like I said.....I will read through the posts to catch up soon. Just couldn't resist congratulating Harry. Woopie!! Hope you are all well and soldiering on.

rosieposey · 02/08/2010 07:35

Wow Harry! Thats great news - what a great result. Try not to worry ( i know its hard ) and just relax and enjoy - are you going to have an early scan in a couple of weeks to put your mind at rest?

Missy thanks for adding me

Storm glad you had fun. I know the general thought is that its not ideal if you drink when pg but plenty of people find out they are after a large night out and its absolutely fine so dont worry. Infact im sure it was a midwife that told me in my 1st pg that till the embryo starts to get its nutrients from the placenta a few weeks in that it takes what it needs from the egg to start with and thats not subjected to what you put in your body there and then ... might be wrong but was definately told that a long time ago.

PinkCustard - sorry AF came around for you Have to say wont be quite so glad to see it again at the end of next cycle as i was this one.

Starlet Sorry AF got you mate.

For reasons unknown, even to me, I POAS'd again this morning - I never have the urge to do this but I got up and just had to.

BFN, surprise surprise!!! I'm 10DPO, I have 4 days to go til AF arrives and no signs as yet of her appearing I always get phantom period pain about 5/6 days before so this is strange. I don't feel moody or anything. Friday and Saturday was sick both mornings, (hence the POAS before the hen do) this morning and today again feeling v. sick. then tiredness hit me like a brick about 1.30pm. A bit dizzy, but then again have always been that way LOL. Whats going on?!?!?

xx

StormBird · 02/08/2010 14:24

ohh ohh ooh ooh, wait!!

I forgot to say I have Zero appetite. This is not like me, especially before AF. I could normally eat a horse, a scabby donkey that died from syphallis and a fly burger with maggiot fries on the side (all in one sitting) the week leading up to AF.

Harry2007 · 02/08/2010 16:32

at your last post stormbird it really made me laugh! You never know though, could be a good sign, I have my fingers crossed for you x

Well, I've just phoned the early pregnancy unit and um going in for a scan on the 11th. I bought a CB Digital at lunchtime too - just to actually see the words and to make sure I'm still pregnant

vnewmummy · 02/08/2010 18:48

Harry - so pleased for you. You must be so happy after everything you have gone through. See i told you it would happen!

Now rest and take it easy for next few weeks xx

Lychees · 03/08/2010 11:48

Boba, don't go! Of course, you should be on this thread.

No sign of my Preseed yet and another high for me this morning [four days in a row ... more than I have ever had before].

Also, I found out today that my cousin is expecting #2 [#1 is only 8 months old] so feeling sad and .

It doesn't help that I've been feeling low lately as work is horrible ... my manager is away so I'm getting lots of extra work, my best work buddy is away so there is no-one to cheer me up and I'm getting some of her work to do, too. And I had a terrible meeting with the VAT men on Friday. Also, I had an argument with a guy in my office the other day when we were chatting about cloned cows. Basically, he said that he didn't believe in IVF, his exact words were "if you can't have children naturally then you shouldn't have children" .

I feel a sickie coming on.

Sorry for the rant. I'm sure I'll be in a much better mood soon.

P.S. Hello everyone!

chocciechip · 03/08/2010 12:00

Congrats harry. That's such good news after everything you've been through!

boba don't go anywhere please.

storm I hate to think what your pregnancy cravings will be like when you get your BFP.

I've been trying to give preseed a skip this cycle lychees, even though we did get a BFP in Dec using it. We just thought we needed to try one cycle without since we've had so many with, and see if it makes any difference. Instead I've been drinking copious quantities of grapefruit juice inthe hope of boosting what nature gives me just a bit more. Pure desperation really.

AFM - I'm on CD14 today and usually get a peak around today, but still on high despite second day of EWCM. In fact, I have had nothing but highs from CD8 when I was first asked to test ... has anyone else had that?

We decided to throw everything at this month and have been SWI'ing every second day since CD8, and every day since CD12, and I am tired already ... was really hoping for a peak so we could begin to see the finish line! But no, tonight's another night, and tomorrow, and the one after ... Knowing my luck it will be annovulatory and the only finish line will be AF arriving.

chocciechip · 03/08/2010 12:01

x-post lychees ....

chocciechip · 03/08/2010 12:14

lychees I have a few friends who believe the same thing. One talks about the 'overpopulated world' and how IVF is just wrong. I also have a cousin who thinks its cruel - yes cruel - for older mothers (i.e. about my age) to have children at all. All of this hurts like hell. None of them know I am TTC. They are all, as far as I am concerned, sanctimonous ignorant twits.

I started this journey feeling ambivalent about having children and we had an 'If we do get PG we do, and if we don't we don't' attitude. We only tried because we knew we may have regrets one day and wanted to at least say 'Well, we tried'. I have never had a burning maternal instinct.

Until I got my first BFP and everything changed. I started imagining my family, deciding where the cot would go, start knitting booties etc -- and then had a MMC. Broke my heart. The whole dynamic changed for me.

I think all of these people who say these things need to walk in our shoes first. I know for a fact that they have NO IDEA how they will feel about these things when its them in the firing line because I had no idea how I'd feel. My DH has probably been even more ambivalent about all this than I, but the last couple of months reality has hit him hard. Not realising how much he was feeling it, I said to him yesterday, 'If that first PG had worked out we'd have a 6month old now', and he just welled up.

People who say these things.... they simply don't have a clue. Don't let them get to you.

boba82 · 03/08/2010 12:28

Thanks Lychees and choccie, don't want to go anywhere.

Lychees I know those and feeling very well. People just do not think before they open their mouths. Sure he'd change his mind if it were him having trouble TTC. One of my close friends is expectinh #2 and she fell preg when DC1 was only 1. I had awful for first few months and I am ashamed to say I probably did avoid seeing her aswell. However I prob am most open to her now about our problems TTC and find she is most understanding and least patronising when giving advice etc. Don't know how I'll feel when the baby arrives though. Have a sickie love and enjoy it!

choccie I have had months like that. It is really tiring SWI every night isn't it. I think it's really hard to stop it feeling like a chore sometimes when you're TTC.

I was watching a Friends last night where Monica & Chandler are TTC & they've just had sex and say "just think we might have a baby in 9 months". I remember having practically same converstion with DH when we first started TTC, oh the naivity. . .!

Hi

Advise please ladies.

I have a 9 year old dd and a 8month old baby boy (ivf) without even noticing I got pg but mc 6 weeks ago. I would never have been trying at this point cos of the ivf and didn't think it would happen now am woman possessed again. So with monitor in hand wanted to start using only to read must wait 2 cycles before starting again.

Does that mean month of mc is one and last af was second or do I need to wait another?

Please can someone help I know that the baby is only 8 months but I am desperate now

Thanks anyone out there
