Hello,

Lychees What a totally insensitive colleague. People at work are always asking me when I'm going to have another, but it's worse coming from someone who is smugly pregnant. You'd think she'd have a bit of an understanding about such things.

Storm Hope things start to pick up soon. DH's job was under threat of redundancy when I was pregnant with DS and I know what a worry it can all be.

On a cheerier note at least the awful rain has stopped for now - was getting so fed up of it. It's still not exactly summery here though - fingers crossed for a nice weekend.

Keziahhopes · 21/07/2010 12:09

quick post and run - op went well, just recovering now - and from the sepsis week before.

chocciechip · 21/07/2010 13:46

starlet Yes, I finally got my results. They fall within the normal range overall, apparently, but I asked for the breakdown and the E2 is high - outside normal. I've just read that high E2 is a sign of poor ovarian reserve and could suppress FSH results, which suggests to me my FSH results are probably not accurate.

I've posted a separate thread on these in the forum in the hope someone with more knowledge can help me interpret, because my GP won't and I can't bear to wait months before I get to the fertility clinic. It's at times like these when I could march into my GPs and crack heads with my frustration at the NHS. But right now I am pretty broken, I have to say.

I had another odd experience which I posted about separately as well where I accidentally used an OPK thinking it was an HPT, and got a positive LH surge on the day AF was due ... which I would have thought shouldn't happen. So its all pants really.

boba82 · 21/07/2010 15:24

choccie sorry I can be of no help with your results but that is positive that they are in the normal range overall, not as bad as you expected? Has your GP agreed to refer you now? I know you are in ERI area so should only be a 12 week wait. I know that is still 3 months but not too long. Please try and stay positive hun, I am feeling quite worried about you at the moment. x x x

Thanks again for the sympathy and advice, Ladies.

Glad op went well, Keziah. Hope you are back to good health soon.

Choccie, it's a pain when you can't get some straight answers that make sense from the GP. They can be so detached and out of touch with patients sometimes. So frustrating. Can't help though because I'm pretty clueless about this stuff ... sorry.

Went to get some sticks yesterday and Boots have put them up by £2! I would like to get them cheaper online but always feel like I'm jinxing myself if I buy them early and then I worry that I won't get them in time if I leave ordering them until AF is due.

chocciechip · 22/07/2010 16:44

DH and I have decided that we will go see a private consultant after I get my AMH results back, just to discuss all the results we've had. Very expensive for just this, but I can't wait until September - I'll go crazy. We have no other option. DH even tried phoning the Duty Endocrine Biochemist at the lab yesterday, who he said seemed very uncomfortable with questions DH was asking him to answer.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm trying to put it out my mind for now, but its hard.

AF is here but I'm not sure when to record AF as arriving....??? I had very very light bleeding (but probably more than spotting) yesterday afternoon, with flow kicking in properly today. Do you think today is CD1 or is it yesterday? For the CBFM I mean.

vnewmummy · 22/07/2010 19:03

Choccie I think today is day 1 for you hun.

Hi everyone

Well AF got me too today, feel really sad as everything looked good after my scan and the clomid is working. However, we have now decided to stop trying naturally and put the CBFM away.

During the next 4 weeks we are going private again and combining clomid and IUI (Intrauterine insemination) for one last shot at it. This really is it and we are preparing to move on with our lives if it does not happen.

I had my first lot of acupuncture today too so hopefully that will relax and prepare me for this month.

I will keep an eye on this thread and thank you all for your support and sense of fun. Were all having a difficult time and its great that we have each other to let off steam or whatever you want!

Good luck to you all, I want to see some BFP's on here soon. Thinking of you.

xxx

StormBird · 22/07/2010 20:02

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for the kind words of support. It's been really really tough for me and DP this year for various reasons and his job situation is just the icing on the cake!!! Well DP went signed on today for the first time ever, he's so embarrassed about the situation but we have no other option at the moment. I tok yesterday afternoon off work to help him out and we CV dropped as many maintenance and building firms as we could find. You never know, something might come of it. Fingers Crossed eh.

Starlet I would be hugely grateful if you could post my DP's details on your works notice board if you could email [email protected] I will email his details over (don't worry I've asked his permission LOL). Its such a shame he's so low, although I am bound to be biased he is truthfully very good at what he does. Thank you hun.

Choccie & vnewmummy sorry AF got you.

vnewmummy I was sad to read your leaving us. I hope everything goes well for you hun. I have my fingers crossed that it works out well for you. Good Luck with the Clomid & IUI, please keep us posted on how you are getting on. Don't be stranger.

Keziah Glad to hear Op went well. Hope you recover quickly.

Anyone else I've missed sending big hugs.

Sorry for the long post.

rosieposey · 22/07/2010 20:33

Hello ladies, how are you all this rainy evening?

Choccie - just had a quick read through your thread and think that you are doing the right thing by going private, September IS a long way away and when you are waiting to interpret such important results its just silly to be hanging on for so long.

vnewmummy - havent been on this thread very long but wanted to wish you good luck in your Clomid and IUI - really hope it gets you where you want to be in no time at all.

Keziah - hope you are on the mend now

Storm, you and your DH are doing all the right things, it must have been rubbish signing on but needs must and all that crap (sorry im not doing platitudes because they dont help much i reckon) At least its an (albeit crappy) source of income till he gets back on his feet - you are being really positive though, leaflet dropping and so on - its hard to think of it but try and see this as temporary ... Talking of jobs, DH got told about a local contract and they are interviewing next week, my DH's agency have put him forward so i hope he at least gets to interview stage, mind you there are probably about 70 people all going for the same job Ah well fingers crossed.

Hope everyone else that i havent mentioned is ok and today is a good one - tomorrow is Friday which is always welcome, i love weekends!

essenceofSES · 22/07/2010 21:33

vnewmummy - sorry AF got you. I really hope the combination of accupuncture, Clomid and IUI do the trick next month. As Storm said, don't be a stranger - you'll be missed.

rosie - fingers crossed for your DH's interview. No rain here this evening but at least it's a bit cooler.

Storm - thinking of you. Must have been a tough day for your DH to go and sign on but absolutely what he needs to do in the circumstances. I hope something turns up soon for him though.

choccie* - sounds like you've got a plan. I hate the waiting game and although in the big scheme of things September isn't long, it seems like forever in ttc timescales

Lychees - at Boots putting the price of the sticks up by £2. I might try and check on why as I work for them!

Keziah - hope your recovery continues well

Well morning everyone,

Thought I'd post this morning before I jump in the shower and pop off to work cos I am CONFUSED.COM ....

I have had lows on the CBFM all of this cycle so far....... until today when I peaked??? We haven't really BD'd this week cos of everything thats going on, being fraught with worry and super tired it kinda takes it out of ya. Anyhoo we managed to get to it last night so the fact I got a peak after lows isn't too much of an issue - I just don't understand what happened to my highs? I was suspicious last night that I'd not had a result on the CBFM yet so used a cheapy tesco dip-stick OPK, and sure enough it was positive.

Well to add mystery to all of this I've been temping too and I don't think my temps have risen dramatically enough to show OV. Don't get me wrong they recently dripped and risen a degree or so on 2 occassions this cycle, one of the rises in temp was this morning but both high temps from this cycle are 35.97. There isn't an obvious and substantial rise?!?!?

Well I think maybe its time to go and bug the charters annon thread too LOL!!

Me and DP have decided to carry on trying using the CBFM until the end of this cycle and then re-evaluate our situation financially to decided if we're going to carry on - I'm hoping to persuade him too but understand its a joint decision.

Hope you all have a good Friday - its nearly the weekend.

Much Love and oodles of Babydust to everyone

XXXX

choccie glad you've made a decision. You'll have to let us know how you get on. We can swap notes on service, I'd be interested incase we end up having to go down private route. x

everyone else, morning and hope you are all well.

OP posts:
Lychees · 23/07/2010 12:58

vnewmummy, wishing you masses and masses of luck for your IUI/Clomid attempt. You will be missed.

Storm, I have gone from lows straight to peaks twice now. I believe the peak indicates the detection of LH so that means you can ov 24-48 hours later but not sure what your temps would do around this time or what OPKs detect.

Hi Boba and everyone else.

Nearly the weekend [yayyyy!] and have lots planned. Having a break from DIY and going to see Inception at the cinema and we have a wedding to go, too. Also, I have a back up outfit for the wedding but want to check out the summer sales to see if I can pick up a bargain from Coast or Monsoon or somewhere like that.

Anyone doing anything nice? Hope you all have good ones and will catch up with you soon.

vnewmummy · 23/07/2010 14:17

Thank you so much for all your good luck wishes, you made me cry!

lots of love - will report back in a month xx

boba82 · 23/07/2010 16:27

Hi Lychees yes lots of bargains to be had at summer sales just now. Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned. I'm going to see Inception too I think and chilling in (FX) the sun!

Hope everyone else has a great weekend too. x

OP posts:
rosieposey · 24/07/2010 21:42

Boba how did you find Inception? DH and i went to see it early in the week too. Hope you enjoyed it

Storm and Lychees will try and bear in mind what i reading on here about going straight from Lows to Peak - the monitor is supposed to measure other hormones as well as LH too isnt it? Its interesting that it seems to behave like an opk sometimes though as you dont really get any warning except for ewcm (if your lucky) that you are about to ovulate.

Well im keeping my fingers crossed - i think i ov'ed either last Saturday or Sunday (most likely Sunday as i got positives all day Saturday and then nothing on the opks on Sunday) so that 7 whole days so far without AF - just keep thinking that if i can go another 4 or so i am in with a chance this month, it will be one of the longest cycles i have ever had though at 36 days.

Will update the stats for today too ... Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. BTW shall i take vnewmummy off the stats? Ill leave her on (good luck vnewmummy!) and someone else can as im never sure what to do - will just do everyones days for now.

Starlet22 · 25/07/2010 11:59

Morning all,

Hope you are enjoying the weekend? We went to see Inception on Friday night - I thought it was very clever (who thinks up these ideas?!).

vnewmummy - all the best with the clomid and IUI and do keep us posted.

Storm - I've also gone straight from lows to peaks on one cycle with the CBFM. Was bit annoyed for the lack of warning! Also, will email you separately either later today/tomorrow.

Choccie - for what it's worth, I think you're doing the right thing - waiting till September is just too long to wait for someone to properly analyse your results (I should probably do the same thing given I had no breakdown of my results....). Hopefully the costs of meeting with someone to discuss your results won't be too expensive.

Finally, sorry to all those ladies whose AF has recently gotten them - fingers crossed for the next cycle!

essenceofSES · 25/07/2010 19:58

Hello! Just checking in. Nothing to report for this month yet - no highs or EWCM so next week end mya be our best bet for SWI. Only problem is I'm due to be out both Fri and Sat evenings! Will have to hope we get a few opportunities

Had a busy day today - church, then a visit to my mum for her birthday, into town to look at kitchens (we're building an extension at the moment), pub lunch and then the usual chores. DS asleep now and I've collapsed on the sofa

missyraines - sorry for AF.

Starlet - Inception sounds great but I haven't been to the cinema in ages. Must plan a trip!

rosieposy - fingers crossed for you!

Lychees - sounds like you had a lovely weekend planned. Hope it's all gone well.

Hello everyone else

StormBird · 26/07/2010 08:33

morning everyone - v. quick post....

will post again later but.....

had my peaks then went to high yesterday but the CBFM is still asking me to test and I've run out of sticks?!?!?!?!?!?!

What to do????

BabyHoping · 26/07/2010 08:43

Morning everyone, hope you all had a good weekend?

baby and missy sorry you guys got AF, hopefully this month you'll have better luck.

Storm I think if you just turn it on tomo it will ask you to POAS then instead, never happened to me so not sure.

rosie yeah really enjoyed it but very complex isn't it? Some brilliant acting in it though.

Hi to essence, starlet and lychees too.

Hi All, I am a complete newbie to this website and I was hoping you could give me any advice you can! I have been trying for a baby for a while now and today took the plunge and bought a CB fertility monitor. If you can offer any advice or tips on how this can help and how to use it that would be great. Thanks. x
