I'm so excited yet nervous. Did you do digital opk or the strips? I have to pick some up today and couldn't decide which to get.

Jamiki · 25/06/2010 14:58

One cycle of pills, pg next cycle! Yippee.

Dolly99 · 25/06/2010 15:18

i did the digital one - where you get the happy face once you ovulate = and happy face indeed i got! make sure you dnt take these until 3 days after your last clomid tho... as it cam interfere with the hormones and give you a false positive LH surge!

I nooo - still in shock!

baby dust to all you wonderful ladies trying!!!!! x

Hey all! I'm currently cd12 and got some light pink spotting cd10. It was just when i wiped. Not sure what that was. Also had some on cd8. Has anyone read of someone still getting pg even though they had spotting pre-o?

Dolly99 · 29/06/2010 12:55

could be after sex? I had this. I do know that clomid can cause spotting bleeding... if its not heavy i say dnt worry - but if you wnat to see doc to ask theres no harm?

OP posts:
Miffles · 29/06/2010 23:17

hey hey. Dolly - how are things going? Have you been to the doctors yet? Anything to report? What happens now?

selena - I have no idea about anything clomid related, tbh, but would agree that a call to the docs wouldn't be out of place.

I've had my test results back and have "normal" for everything. So presume that means no rubella or chlamydia and progesterone...? not sure what normal progesterone means, as dont have a cycle to speak of. But it puts a number in a box which is needed for the referral. DH still needs to do his bit, but is being very reluctant about it all and tells me off for nagging. Honestly, just as well it's not all down to him, we'd never get anywhere! Did explain that the 18 week wait for an appt doesn't start til his results are in....grrr...

On a more positive note, AF came today, but that is CD21. So have managed to add 4 days to my UCL. Yay! I'll take any small gain as good news! Had reflexology on Friday last week too, which was amazing - I fell asleep! Some people have reported good things with PCOS and reflexology.

Dolly99 · 30/06/2010 12:48

Miffles - hey hey! had docs on monday, due 5th march, and have scan at 10 weeks, as multiple babies are possible, and obv my boody has been through allot.

yeah, if all is normal means all is ok with those listed, did you have progerterone bloods on day 21 though?? as this is the only way to find out the levels. anything under 30 is low, mine was 16.5. ask him what your levels were, so you know!

stay positive! x

Quick one - off for a dirty weekend with DH! Yay! Lots of celebrations - birthday and both have finished degrees.

He sent me a text on Wed saying "operation sperm complete" - so awatining results.

Congrats again - due 5th MArch, That makes it so real!!

Mt progesterone wasn't done in CD21 - but that's cos I've never made it that far before!! HEnce saying it was a box-filling exercise.

Must dash. Have a great w/e.

x

Dolly99 · 08/07/2010 08:39

miffles - how was your dirty weekend away? Has he had his results yet?

any news on clomid ? x

OP posts:
Dolly99 · 08/07/2010 08:41

ps - have a scan monday at 1245 to see if all is ok, when you concieve on clomid your specialist who you see at the hospital likes to do more scans throughout, but this could be different in each location. then we have the 12 week scan on 18th aug to check all is ok and no isues x

Congratulations Dolly

I was prescribed clomid in 2005 and concieved ds1 on the 3rd month.

I had some left over clomid from then that went out of date in 2009 so I had a rare period (i have pcos) and decided to take it myself without the docs been aware. I know that was a silly thing to do and not recommended but it was sat there in my bathroom cabinet and I didn't want to go through loads of hospital appointments again to get what i already had . Anyway ds2 was concieved on that first attempt and he will be 1yr old on Saturday

Hope all goes well for you

Phoenix · 08/07/2010 09:21

Btw i didn't have any extra scans with ds1.

Miffles · 09/07/2010 15:21

Weekend away was brilliant - great to spend some more time together and relax.

Haven't yet had his results, so can't yet get the referral onwards. Sigh. All seems to take so long! But hey ho, we'll get there.

Hope the scan goes well on Monday - keep me posted!

x

Dolly99 · 12/07/2010 11:57

yeah the process inbetween takes ages! and seems longer that it is. took us much longer also due to operation, but hang on in there! have scan at 1245 - its now 12 - eeeeekkk!

will keep you posted! x

How did it go? Twins? Triplets?

So...we had a letter on Friday from the doctors, saying they wanted to see DH to discuss the results. I thought this was a formality, so told him to ring today and ask to speak to them.
But apparently they did want to see him as its complicated and his sperm count was a bit low .

We weren't told we were meant to "abstain" for 4 days before the sample, so I'm really hoping that is the reason.

The doc told DH that he had to go in to chat and to pick up another cup. He has to do another sample, but not for 4 weeks. And they won't process the referral til the second sample it done. So another 4 weeks, then 2 weeks to get the result, plus the 18 week wait for appointment. . that is so not on!!

So I'm going with him on Friday and insist on a referral now. They have a number to put in their box and they should process the referral based on my PCOS. Grr....really fed up with this!!

In the meantime, I'm feeding him multi-vitamins, am going to try and encourage boxers and reducing alcohol (although he only drinks a couple of glasses at the w/e, so think it's better to be relaxed then too stressed!!). He doesn't smoke, do drugs and is healthy and exercises.

Sigh - why is nothing straight-forward?

Sorry - am I raining on your parade? Sorry Dolly hon. I feel as if you understand and will forgive the rant.

Added to this, not only is my darling sister 9 weeks pg, so is my best friend (10 weeks) and another close friend (12 weeks). WHEN WILL IT BE ME???!!!

Ok. I'm done now. Thank you for listening

xxx

Miffles · 12/07/2010 21:43

PS - I am really really genuinely excited for you....you're an encouragement to me, so still want to hear all the details. The others managed it way to easily, so I'm just jealous of them!

reallygrumpy · 12/07/2010 22:13

Hey miffles, the waiting is really frustrating so I'm not suprised you're cross! I've got PCOS and it takes ages to get referrals etc on NHS. I don't know if you've seen it, but there's an organisation called 'verity' which has a website with lots of info about PCOS, what you can do to help manage it etc. I can't remember the website address but if you put 'verity pcos' into google it will come up.

I've got a 2 yr old DD conceived while taking metformin to regulate my periods and we're currently trying for no 2. I've been taking clomid and got pregnant on my third cycle but sadly had a miscarriage. I'm going back to see the consultant in 2 weeks and think I'll have to have a scan before we can start trying again but I'm hoping it won't take too long. We've had to go private for treatment because of our PCT's rules but at least it means less waiting. I hope you get your referral soon.

Dolly99 · 15/07/2010 12:11

MIff - yeah 4 days is the norm, and this is hopefully why its low... keep us posted! the process is very frustrating! like we had to wait 15 odd months from the first appt, but our situation was rather different due to op needed etc,

avoid hot baths tell him, not laptops on his lap - put a pillow between, as heat near his boys reduce the count.

I had the same, my sis is 24 weeks now, and felt excited but couldnt help but get upset thinking - why not us?! its natural! but remember to stay calm! stress levels must be kept low!

I totally understand your frustrations and air them to me anytime!!!!

Scan on monday went well - we saw the heart beat!!! crazy! and have another one monday coming as bubba was too small to recognise as a 'baby' - but it grows 1mm a day - so come monday will be x7 the size now! crazy!

stay happy, stay positive, and remember you have each other! x

OP posts:
Miffles · 19/07/2010 19:39

Hey hey,

Really glad all is going well with you. Seeing the heartbeat must have been amazing. Did it look like a baby today?

Feeling a bit more positive today. We went to the docs on Friday and he explained that we have to repeat the SA as if the lab receive a referral without a repeat when the first is low, then they won't process the referral. So a 2 week wait til DH can perform for the plastic cup again!!

AF tried appearing y'day (CD 19) but I'm hoping it was a false start - hoping I can make it til tomorrow, which then will get me to CD21 - my personal best!! Hey ho - can't change anything myself, despite all my efforts with supplements, etc.

You are right about having each other. Darling DH said to me yesterday (when I thought AF was coming) "I know we will have a baby. But even if we didn't have one, I would still love you". Ah bless!!

Dolly99 · 20/07/2010 13:21

it looked more like a baby, and was v clear! only 4 weeks until 12 week scan now!

yeah thats exactly what my dh said to me, and it makes u realise how lucky you are! some people dnt even have that! finding love is the most amazing thing! and the fact they want to have a family is even more special!

keep me posted!!!!! I have good feelings! x

Hi ladies,

On day 4 of first round of clomid and getting hot flushes big time all evening and through the afternoon! guess this means it's working! Hope so as from reading all your success stories I am feeling really positive for the first time in ages! Fingers crossed it works! One ? Do the side effects go as soon as you finish the course?

Dolly99 so pleased for you getting to see your baby so early on in the pregnancy!!! Great news as it makes it so real!

I think I should get an ovulation kit after seeing on here that it works, the doctor just told us to get busy days 10 to 17 which I hope is correct??? Then go back in 3 months for more I guess if it doesn't work. Been told to go for one blood test and that's it!

Dolly99 · 22/07/2010 14:52

confu3ed
Yeah hot flushes are one side effect! Mine stopped pretty much two days after my last tablet. AS for getting busy, this varies totally for each individual, as we all ovulate at different times, I used ov sticks and they worked for me. But we never fully relied on these, we were just busy allot! lol. Thats the best way, to increses your chances, from the last day of clomid we got busy everyday even if ovulation stick was an empty circle, then when we got that we made sure to busy for 4 days after. so basically try try try as much as you can! and yes you should have a blood test on day 21 - make sure this is day 21, as this checks your hormone surge levels, and this indicates if clomid worked, mine before was 16.5, anything below 30 is no ovulation, and after 1st clomid round mine was 110!!!! wowsa!
stay positive and please keep us posted! any questions ask! its all very confusing until you go trhough a whole cycle then it all makes sense! x

People keep talking about the side effects they get with clomid. I took my first round last month and don't remember getting any side effects at all. Does it follow that it is more likely to be working if you get the side effects or am I just being ridiculous in worrying that it not going to work for me when I have not even got to the end of the first cycle??!
