Hello ladies, after a mammoth 47 day cycle hoping for a December baby, today is once again CD1 for me.

If all goes to plan this month my EDD would be Jan 30th so I thought I'd start the February bus as a positive step forward.

Am fully expecting to be on my own for a while but do come and sit beside me for the journey if you feel the need......

decaf, sorry to hear about confusing temps. I can't remember from previous posts whether you've had much input from your GP but would a visit be in order? I was under the impression that things like Chlomid could be used to regulate cycles (may be completely wrong about this). TTC is hard enough, without unpredictable and very long cycles.

Debka, YES, I tend to be more in the mood for lurve at the right time each month. I only became aware of it when I started being more aware of my cycles and when I was due to ov. Found that starting to feel a bit frisky tied in with the build-up to ov. Mother Nature is a clever thing. I've also found that within a couple of days of ovulating I go completely off sex. Not sure whether there's any reason for that or whether it's just the need for a bit of a rest after all that SWIing .

Good luck to all of those on the 2ww - hope we start getting some good news soon.

Totallyfloaty35 · 16/05/2010 18:04

Hi all, can you add me to the bus please? DH is actually in the country during one of my fertile periods whoop whoop.
Totallyfloaty35 TTC*4 ,cycle3,UCL28, CD2
Thankyou very kindly, heres hoping its a fertile bus

Prinpo · 16/05/2010 18:50

Welcome, TF35. Fingers crossed this is a good month for you as it sounds as though DH is away a lot.

OK, sneaky question for those planning what they know is their final dc. Does anyone secretly hope for twins? We're trying for dc3 but I would secretly love 4 (would never push dh into 4 as he would have stuck at 2). Secretly hope that, given my age (38, nearly 39), I may be at that stage where I push out lots of eggs and end up with two for the price of one!

Anyone else in the same boat?

8rubberduckies · 16/05/2010 20:07

Hi rosieposey hope you enjoyed your lunch out. I just wanted to comment on your daughter's possible diagnosis with PCOS, I think that sometimes med professionals can paint a very doom-laden view of the syndrome when it comes to fertility issues, so I wanted to pass on some positivity; it's really important she does not get too disheartened. I went to pieces when I found out as I'd always wanted children.

Yes, it is a life-long problem, but from what I've read the symptoms tend to come and go throughout your life for a lot of women, and plenty of people go on and have babies! Myself and 2 friends are good examples; all three of us were diagnosed with PCOS (me just three years ago, both my friends in their late teens, although looking back I can pinpoint my first symptoms to when I was about 23, 10 years ago). I conceived 4 months after being diagnosed (completely by accident) and both of my friends have also conceived without trying. We are all Mums to beautiful children, although I'm the only one trying for a second now. Yes, I'm having problems at the moment, but there have been times during the last decade when I've had regular cycles for sometimes more than a year at a time. Shame it's not now when I need it!!!!

I also recommend www.verity-pcos.org.uk for more information and support forums regarding PCOS, I'm pretty sure I've seen a support group especially for teen sufferers on there too.

Regarding my trip on the bus, had AF type cramps all day and have been in an almighty bad mood! No sign of AF yet; am trying not to get too excited and convince myself it's implantation cramps, but it's spot on 7 days since I ovulated according to my temps...

Rockbird · 16/05/2010 20:54

Can I please have this month's award for Most Stupidly Pointlessly Early Testing?

I was there, and needed a wee and have a big bag of tests and thought I'd see just for a laugh, practise the whole POAS thing... You won't be surprised to learn it wasn't so much of a BFN as a 'What the hell are you doing here??'

Still, only another week to go...

Purplefan · 16/05/2010 22:06

Rockbird the award is all yours!! , but we have all been there!!
I used to have a big bag of tests, but now only have one clearblue digital sitting in the cupboard....I am determined not to waste it!
I am due for AF on Wednesday, so am trying so hard not to imagine symptons or waste my clearblue test. Nearly there

CluckyKate · 16/05/2010 23:41

Hang in there Purplefan - you know the wait will be worth it!!!

Prinpo - totally understand where you're coming from. DH insists that 2 is enough (TTC no. 2) but he comes from a family of only 2 kids and can't see why more would be any better.

I've always wanted 4 and am already plotting on how I can eke in another one, even if I have to DTD before the stitches heal (eek)

CluckyKate, at the thought of SWIing before stitches have healed. Think I would need tequila to see me through that one. The things we do.

womanlytales · 17/05/2010 08:24

decaf Sounds like you're having a rough time reading the temps you're recording. Agree with Prinpo on perhaps a visit to your GP or a specialist to help you with the interpretations.
prinpo Am trying for my first and given the difficulties have from time to time wished for twins because the goal post looks so far away right now..
TF35 Best of luck to you - hope this bus is lucky for you

Since I'm in the front of the bus [actually on CD30 today] - I tested yesterday - May 16 and it was a BFN. I've had AF symptoms since Friday though..and due to OD + Clomid have been strictly on 28 day cycles so the fact that AF hasn't come yet and I generally feel a bit sore in my tummy....kinda like the pressure that builds up before AF comes... Is it just a case of AF being late? I have no pregnancy symptoms and am definitely
What do you think I should do next?

If anyone can advise... I am only on CD17 but am pretty sure that we got ovulation dates right this month and now my boobs feel HUGE!.... my question is how long after conception would you expect to start feeling "symptons"?!?

Rockbird · 17/05/2010 10:45

This is what I was wondering, Gina, because I've started to feel seriously sea sick the last 2 days. Had bad sickness with DD and this feels the same, a real travel sicknessy feeling rather than hungry or stuffed kind of sick. Realistically I know that it's all in my mind/the plague/some rare disease/non-existent but it does make you wonder...

Prinpo · 17/05/2010 11:22

GinaFB, one of the first symptoms with previous pregnancies was nuclear boobs less than a week after ovulation. That said, I've since realised how often my boobs are tender (needless to say, each month I get my hopes up then get BFN).

There's just no way of knowing until AF comes or you get that BFP. Will keep everything crossed for you.

Likewise, Rockbird, fingers crossed. We need some good news soon.

GinaFB · 17/05/2010 11:32

womanlytales - keep testing!!! it might just have been too early or the test was !! xx

Fingers crossed for you Rockbird!!

sprinkles lots of happy baby dust at bus

ImpatientHove · 17/05/2010 11:32

Hi...

Rosie sorry to hear about your daughter - I don't know much about PCOS so can't offer any words of advice but i do know people who have conceived with it..

Prinpo - twins?! not for me!! Can't affords the childcare costs when I go back to work. Would be lovely if not for the practicalities though!

Decaf it does all sounds very confucing. I hope you haven't had a month of not ovulating.

I am fairly sure I have not ovulated this month. Have been using OPKs every day and nothing CD 22 today. Unless I am in for a long cycle. Who knows, everything with TTC is uncertain isn't it. What if this? What if that?

Good luck all - looking foward to bearing about some BFPs soon!

debka · 17/05/2010 13:01

Glad I'm not the only one Prinpo, doing pretty well at the SWIing with my miserable, nicotine deprived DH! Hoping for another go today or tomorrow as found some EWCM (rather exciting)
Can't think of much worse than twins though...

8rubberduckies · 17/05/2010 14:40

Hi all, feeling most miserable and confused today...

My temperature took a nosedive this morning, prompting my chart on Fertility "Friend" to remove the baseline and the ovulation date as it cannot be sure now that I have ovulated at all, so now it looks like a bunch of random squiggles, rather than something to pin my hopes on. I am having a patch of EWCM and cramps have been going from strength to strength since yesterday early morning but no sign of AF, so now I am thinking I may be ovulating now rather than 10 days ago as I originally thought...

In that case, I should be preparing myself to swing from the rafters tonight, but I just feel tired and despondent at the thought of another long cycle and SWI again and again, when I was preparing myself to test this weekend.

Would anyone like to join me on the backseat of the bus for a stiff gin and tonic to cheer me up? I know we shouldn't, but I have limes....

8rubberduckies · 17/05/2010 14:42

PS, I think you should join me decafgirl, I feel your pain... . Hope things are evening out a bit for you...

ImpatientHove · 17/05/2010 15:35

I will join you rubberduckies... feeling despondent myself. Before I went on the pill I used to have cycles that could last for MONTHS and I am very scared of going back to that again. I am fairly sure I didn't ov last month and looks like it hasn't happened this month (yet?) so have no idea where I am in my cycle.

If you can, have a stiff drink and try to get down to some serious SWI tonight though!! As it would be a shame to miss the opportunity if you are about to ov... good luck

decafgirl · 17/05/2010 15:52

Ha, 8rubberduckies I was reading your post thinking 'ME! I need to join you!!' so yes, here I am, joining you quietly at the back, still having to have SWI (but pretending it's SFF) DH clearly not that bright bless him.

Last cycle my temp went up on CD33 and stayed up for the obligitory 14 days so there's still a chance I could ovulate so I don't want to miss it! Anyway, I'd still be on for a February baby so I'm staying put till the fat lady sings (so to speak). Gah! Just want to be pregnant!!! Dooooom!

patienceplease · 17/05/2010 15:55

Hello!
A little update from near the front of the bus. Am nearing the end of 2WW.... and I'm trying really hard not to POAS too early.
UCl varies between 29-32, although more recently been 31/32 so thinking I really need to wait as long as possible. (but every morning it does cross my mind!)
Have not been charting etc, if we fail this time I might start though.
Keep trying to symptom spot... but nothing! With DCs 1&2 I don't remember keeping such a close track on everyhting so I can't remember when the sickness started. Am hoping that if I get BFP not to be so sick this time.
primpo sort of wanting twins... I don't want the extra work/ physical stress but it would mean that the decision over 3/4 chidren that we are still debating would be done already. (we are not good at making decisions)

patienceplease · 17/05/2010 15:57

And would love a stiff gin and tonic...
that being the only good thing about BFN if I get one!

Prinpo · 17/05/2010 16:45

Forgive me for harping on and repeating myself from the Jan bus, but on the 'One Born Every Minute' programme one of the midwives said how much she admired the patience and perseverance of women who have to try for ages for a baby. Ladies, we are heroic, here's to us.

decafgirl · 17/05/2010 17:17

Cheers Prinpo xxx

womanlytales · 17/05/2010 17:35

Hear hear Prinpo - - am glad to join you 8rubberduckies - - gin sounds fab.
No AF yet for me ...since I checked this morning...Since I've been obsessing with reading stuff on the internet and have managed to scare myself silly -- suspecting pof
All useless, true - but it just reflects the crappy NHS that doesn't provide the adequate support level necessary to help folks have access to help when it's needed. My GP has already said that my issues are beyond his area of expertise and my specialist's dept takes 28 days to set up an appointment post receipt of the request.
Got my Progesterone test from D24 and it is 5.4 - -- - > low...so u wd think by CD30 - today - I'd get my period..cause low progesterone is what leads to the breakdown of the wall.... which only leads to getting my hopes high on...did something really happen? Is my body battling to keep something going?

OK - Rant and self pity roller coaster ride over... sorry folks - needed that. It's the relaxing effect Gin has on me...makes me babble non-stop.

Terribly sorry. Feel bad for not being sane and strong.

8rubberduckies · 17/05/2010 18:33

Everyone I'm so happy to see you on the back seat of the bus misbehaving with me, and the mojitos are going down a storm thanks Prinpo. I am already feeling my strength returning for a booze-fuelled early Monday night xx
