I'm going to go back in August. Every single month seems like such a waste and we arent getting any younger - I'm 30, well 31 this week and DH is 37. We've already wasted 3 years!

ijceb · 16/06/2010 15:34

Happy Birthday to you IfAtFirstUDontSuceed Hope you have a great day!

I'm 29, will be 30 at the end of the year and DH has just turned 39.

After getting so frustrated these last few days with the OPK's it is finally showing up a darker line...oh I don't know what's going on

xkatyx · 16/06/2010 19:42

Hello everyone,

Happy birthday IAFUDS hope you had a lovely day.

IJCEB those POK'S are annoying but what we tried was once we got a positive we SWI everyday from then. Good luck.

xx

Right...I am TOTALLY confused, I usually get my early preg tests from a seller on ebay, and they have blue handles usually, u knw the strip one's? Well, I ordered tests from a different seller(claimed to be the same sensitivity-10mi/ul), thought they were the same as my usual tests....but they aren't, they have green handles and are pregnancy tests, anyway, tonight I have had several positive's on the green handle one's , but pee'd on the usual blue handled one after finding a stash I never thought I had, and these one's are negative!!!!! TOTALLY going out of my mind!!!! These green one's could b faulty? Three days til AF due

BUMP

xkatyx · 17/06/2010 11:09

I would go out and get a first response, it is so unlikely to get a false positive, these maybe much better that the blue ones, i never got a postive on the ebay blue ones for days after my period.

good luck

xx

caija · 17/06/2010 12:07

Hiya Katy!! A have did the green one's ths morning again, n they are NEGATIVE!!! WTF is going on??!!! I am soo confused, it ws actually 4 days til AF due yesterday, it's 3 days today lol, what do u think?? I am going insane!! xxx

caija · 17/06/2010 12:10

I will be heartbroken if those tests I did were dud....got my hopes all up...and ths month I haven't bn thinking about it nearly as much xxx

xkatyx · 17/06/2010 16:40

Ok , what time of the day was your test taken? could it be weak urine?

i find the evening urine better.

Try getting a first response test.

ohhh im ever so exsited for you.

It is very unlikely to get a false positive.

xxx

ijceb · 17/06/2010 17:55

I bought some OPK's and PG tests and the OPK's have green handles and the pg ones have blue handles.

Good to know xkatyx that you don't think they are as sensitive as first response. I have a first response in the cupboard waiting to be used, so I'll probably hold off until AF is due and go straight for the first response test.

Just another thought caija are your blue one's still in date???

caija · 17/06/2010 19:32

Hey girls, well...last night was evening urine, n got several positive's....the blue one's are still in date, yeah, usually the OPK's are green and Pregnancy tests are Blue, but, no, these green one's are defo pregnancy tests.

I have done tests today, this mornig, negative, just done a FEW just n, and think there MIGHT b a very very very very faint hint of something there, but I am really not sure, this is doing my nut in now xxxx

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 17/06/2010 19:37

It's not my b'day till tomorrow, but thanks anyway ladies

Cajia - keeping my fingers crossed for you x

Katy - how you getting on? How many weeks are you now? Getting many symptoms?

Ijceb - any joy with the OPKs, are you just taking the plunge

xkatyx · 17/06/2010 19:49

a line has to start somewhere, so very very very faint is a start, keeping everything crossed for you.

You can test 4 days before your period with forst response, also they are doing buy one get one free in superdrug

I am nearly 6 week's, got terribly sore boob's, headaches and peeing alot, no sickness so far, didnt really get much in my other pregnancies, so hoping it stays away, i think the hardcore symptoms kick in about7-8 weeks.

xx

caija · 18/06/2010 12:28

Hey girls, how are we all?, well I did a FR just now and it's negative, I am gutted, I will sooo sooo be contacting tht seller on ebay!! Note to everyone, do not buy tests from someon called BirdeyJane xx

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 19/06/2010 13:31

Sorry to hear that caija, especially as you were teased with those naff tests.

I've had a bit of a relapse, feeling a bit sorry for myself today! Have realised that I havent been as obsessed as previous months (havent bought any OPKs, have only been taking my temp when I can be bothered, not religiously taking vits, even to the point that I'm not on mumsnet at every available hour!!!)

caija · 19/06/2010 19:17

Hiya IfatFirst, thts great you've not been obsessed ths month, it def helps, the first mnth tht I stopped obsessing I fell pregnant with my youngest who's now 3, bt ths month I really HADN'T been thinking about it n then when I got those positive bloody tests I was totally delighted!! And, they r still negative, so obv bn dud tests, I contacted the seller on ebay, sed she had never heard of anyone gettn a false positive, and sed tht the tests are heat sensitive, n it could've bn that that caused me to get the positive! She is sending me out another 10 tests as an apology...soo bloody upsetting

I have lost faith in the cheap tests from ebay now, better off sticking to FR or CB or even asda or tesco's own one's xx

Hi everyone how are you all?

Well I plucked up the courage to go to see my GP and she agreed to carry out some blood tests to see what my hormones are up to. I feel really hopeful about this

I also asked about the OPK's as I was getting negative results on them, probably down to my hormones and being on the pill for a while. She said probably best not to use them as they get your hopes up and let you down, so I'm going to just forget about them.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 02/07/2010 18:04

Hi ijceb, good to see this thread ressurected!

I'm glad you have been able to get things moving, hope it's all good!

Why don't you try charting, if OPKs arent working for you?

I've also been firm with my GP. In Jan, I was referred to a fertility specialist who lined me up for a string of tests, I then found out I was pg, had a MC in March. He then said that there was no longer any need for the tests and to come back in a YEAR if there's still no joy.
At the time I just accepted it, but a year is a very long time when youre TTC.
So, I've booked myself in for one of the tests in Aug (might as well get the ball rolling).

I have inadvertanly taken a month off this month (havnet been taking my temp, havent bought any OPKs) - mainly due to the fact I knew I would be at Glastonbury when the right time would be- not the ideal TTC conditions

Wishing the next 3 weeks fly over so can start getting obsessed again

ijceb · 05/07/2010 20:08

Hi IfAtFirstUDontSucceed

Glad to hear that you have the tests lined up, a year is far to long to wait, so good on you

I hope you had a fab time at Glastonbury!

I have tried charting and my temps were going up and down, so I think it meant that something was happening!

I'm convinced that I'm not ovulating because of being on the pill. I came off the pill last November and the GP told me it could take up to a year for things to get back to normal even though my periods were regular.

I've decided to stop using the OPK's and charting for now and am kind of hoping that I won't be as stressed out by it all. I know DH is relieved as he won't have to hear the bleep of the thermometer every morning when I wake up

I have another couple of weeks to wait until I can have the blood tests and then a week for them to analyse...so I'll keep you posted.

Take care everyone XX

xkatyx · 08/07/2010 17:35

How are you getting on IfAtFirstUDontSucceed?

I'm waiting for blood test results on Wednesday, also AF due Wednesday.

XXX

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 15/07/2010 20:27

Hi ijceb, which blood test have you had done?

It's our key time from this weekend , I'm depending on good ol' "doing it every day" as I havent got any OPKs and cant afford to buy any this month.

I will be on holiday during my 2ww, so at least of got something to distract me!

Keep us posted with your test results x

ijceb · 18/07/2010 12:46

Hi IfAtFIrstUDontSucceed,

Hope this weekend is going well

Where are you going on your holiday?

This month I have stopped testing with OPK's and temping and I feel a lot less stressed out about the whole thing.

From what I can remember they are testing for progesteron, testosterone and thyroid. I had blood taken last Wednesday and it feels almost as bad as a 2WW, although technically I am on the 2WW too. Roll on Wednesday so I can discuss the results with the GP.

Take care XX
