TTC after a Miscarriage - Keep Trying!!!!

Diddle · 27/07/2005 15:15

Well ladies, its about time we had a new thread, the old one is getting very long. Plus I think we need another fresh start, with lots of positive babydust:

.,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'- .,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',.

Get a big handful girls, i think we all need it.
I was trying to think of something great and positive to put, but this TTC lark is getting us all down, i'm fed up of trying, but we will all succeed eventually, our times will come.

It will be much better for our little ones to have a good start when our bodies are truly ready to carry them.

WC - have a great holiday!
Hopefully lots of positive news when you get back!

Baggy - AF is Auntie Flo (aka your period)
BD is baby dancing (aka sex!!!)

It's all very confusing when people use these acronyms at first and then you find yourself bandying them around like a good 'un!
HTH

peepee · 17/08/2005 11:15

Baggybear,

Check out the acronym list at the top of the page just under topics etc.......

It is hard trying to work some of the stuff out. I have been on some threads and they may aswell be speaking(writing) in a foreign language.

Anyway, AF = Aunt flow = periods
BD = Baby dancing = having sex

Have fun checking out the list.

Peepee.

Hey girls, hope everyone is ok today!!
Hi to peepee, congrats on your excellent news!I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months ahead!
Also hi to baggybear,so sorry to hear about you m/c and i really hope that this thread is as lucky for you(and all the other girls trying)as it was for me.x.x.
Am currently 6+3 and went to see doc this morning to get the ball rolling, they have registered me under queen charlottes,as i was there for alot of testing and scans before Rhys died,so i thought i'd rather go there where i know i'll be looked after and monitored to the highest standards, plus they've got all my notes, and i just think their generally alot better than my local hospital.
I got really upset about going to the docs and paniced abit about doing all this again so soon,i'm terrified that lightening will strike twice!
The doc was really nice though and calmed me down alittle bit,so i left there feeling alot better.
Is anyone close to testing?I hope you don't mind me checking up on everyone and letting you know how i'm doing?,this sight is just so inspiring for me and i have got really close to acouple of people who have been through similar situations like myself.I'm only sorry i don't write alot more than i do,i always have a quick catch up though every couple of days, and love tracking everyones progress.
C.p:How are you hunny,i have really missed chatting to you lately, sorry i haven't been around, hows the ttc going with you at the mo?sending you lots of (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))),and luck for the months to come(would love you to be in my position VERY soon!!.)
Madds:How are you hunny!?So glad to hear that your getting yourself all healthy for the future months ttc!!!And that your starting to feel abit better.Whats happening with your weekend away? Are you going to arrange it for sometime in the near future?(hope so!!!)
I'll come bk abit later and have a chat.x.x.x
Lots of love, luck and babydust to all.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.

spub · 17/08/2005 15:24

Hi Shelly,
Good to have you checking in. Glad all well!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 17/08/2005 15:26

Just lurking at the mo.I am trying to calm a bit this month.DH is not drinking over fertile period this month and we have just been for a lovely walk in the countryside and chilled.

Got ov tests but not going to use them just going to go off cm and cycle days this time.Got pos ov result last month and built hopes up..

on cd 15 now (cycle 33 days last month) and cm still cloudy so dh will be on standby......

Going away soonish and been thinking about that and not fretting too much.See that some of us are having some luck and that gives me hope!

xx

Diddle · 17/08/2005 17:02

Firstly congratulations to peepee and petunia that is fantastic news, brought a tear to my eye, soooo pleased for you both, you deserve it.

maddyd - happy to hear from you and good news that you're weaning yourself off the tabs, can't be much fun for you at the moment though. Get chasing those docs with your results and please stay in touch.

baggybear - Have read your poem and now need to go and get some tissues. Its beautiful lovely words and so true

chocolatepeanut - I've tried to lurk but i'm sure i will miss something important, wasn;t going to login today but glad i ahve now, and have had a chance to congratulate the lucky ones.

hc - Hope your Dh is ok, and recovers soon. You too, i'm sure it shocked you a bit as well, they are worrying. We used to have a motorbike and I was always worried when DH was out on it on his own.

nicmum2boys - hope AF stays away for a bit longer, what cd are you on??

Hello to everyone else i've forgotten.

I'm sure most of you have seen the thread with Miscarriage poems on, but heres a link anyway. I was a right mess after reading them, so be prepared. they really are lovely though.

Thanks for letting me know those. Hadn't noticed the list at top of page - derrr!!!! One more though (!) CM???? Again, i know what you mean but wondering what it stands for. Its not on the list. Sorry, you must be thinking "dummy" but just curious

Congrats shelly24. Good to hear all is okay with you.

Decided to ring hospital in the morning and enquire about official complaints process for that dept. After reading your views and those of a few friends, I think it is my duty to complain so other women aren't treated so badly. I have the backing of my GP and now haemotology are involved I think the complaint will be taken seriously - hopefully.

Diddle · 17/08/2005 17:08

baggybear - sorry know nothing about rh neg, but really hope you sort them out.

CM is Cervical Mucus, yuk

baggybear · 17/08/2005 17:14

Nice, thank you for clearing that one up . I am completely genned up now. I now feel part of the fold!

Thankyou for reading my words Diddle. xx

Diddle · 17/08/2005 17:15

No thanks needed baggy and it does take a while to understand all the shortened versions, but you do get the hang of it. because i type fo rmuch on here though i often find myself typing it in emails to friends and family. DH instead of husband etc. oops

OP posts:
maddyd · 17/08/2005 17:51

Afternoon all. I only call my period af now, im so used to it. Luckily i dont often talk about af's in RL much. otherwise people would think im mad, well more mad than usual anyway.

strike1 · 17/08/2005 18:43

Baggybear, bit slow on the uptake, but I just read your words on the miscarriage thread. You couldn't have said it any better or more beautifully. It is jsut how I felt/feel all the time. Never forgoten.

strike1 · 17/08/2005 18:46

So emotional see I can't spell! Sometimes I call DH, DH to his face, but only cause it winds him up Off out for pizza tonight, yum!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 17/08/2005 19:27

Yes the lurking is not working.........

quite a few across the threads with bfps this month so lets spread the luck!!

congratulations to all those with bfps and bumps!!

also confess to using ov kits when swore i would not.....

oh well, here we go again..

peepee · 17/08/2005 19:45

I know I have never had a viable pregnancy but I have been pregnant quite a few times. I have never used any ov kit or taken my temperature. Perhaps just because I find it too hard to understand. (am a bit thick!)

Anyway for those of you who may be interested.....
this is what I did........

I had 3 clear days after AF and then for the next 7 days we were baby dancing twice a day, DH never complained. He was keener than me
IT WORKS! Save some money and try it....

GOOD LUCK. * *

maddyd · 17/08/2005 20:39

Chocolatepeanut. I also confess to using ov sticks even when not bding. Also i have 4 tests ready for next month. Two cheapo e bay ones, one early predictor one and one digital. Also taking temps with kids ear theometer.

I also bought go ahead chocolate bars as my craving for chocolate is too bad.

baggybear · 17/08/2005 21:59

Awww, thanks strike1. Hope you enjoy your pizza

I'm feeling a little better tonight. It might be nothing and more to do with my recent M/C, but seem to have CM (see, I'm getting used to this now!!)today. Now, what would you think? I'm hoping this is a sign that i will be seeing AF in a couple of weeks. I'm not going to TTC again for a little while but it would be the first time in my life that I would be pleased to see AF. At least I would know everything is beginning to get back to normal. My cycle before M/C was always 28 days and ov about 10 to 14 days, so am always aware of CM. OOOOOOOO! I really hope this could be things starting to settle down. (In RL all this could be TMI, but I know I can chat to you all about it and not feel )

Oh and BTW, could I get anymore abbrevs in one post!!!!!

strike1 · 18/08/2005 08:09

Wow Baggybear, your a real abbrev pro! That's advanced usage now It's good to see everything is getting back on track for you bodywise. I was never so pleased to see my af in my life, she's always been erratic as I suffered from PCOS when I was younger, but fingers croseed all is working now, just need to prove it by getting pg! It's good to be able to be able to chat about cm with out friends getting up and leaving the room, I think my mates would have me committed if I started blabbing about mine in the pub but on here we can talk about (nearly!) anything. What a relief!

Have a lovely day all

HumphreysCorner · 18/08/2005 10:06

Morning ladies, phew it is warm today!

Have calmed down a little and am talking to DH more. He reckons he is going to tax his 250 bike(his 1st ever bike that he can't bear to part with and sits in the garage along with his 1st ever car so I can't get my car in there!) and use that so I don't think he is ever going to learn!

AF due today so have done one last test and not a thing showing so I will just wait for the cow's arrival and try again next month for a May baby.

peepee-I agree with your BD idea but this time me & DH BD every other night from the day AF finished for 14 days! Was exhausted! Hasn't worked though so don't know if to do the same next time. Suppose it can't hurt. Hope you are OK ((xx))

How is petunia today? ((xx))

baggybear-stick with it-it is the best thing when AF arrives but then seeing her more than once is not so good. ((xx))

Hugs also to wishingchair, Diddle, maddyd, CHOCOLATEPEANUT, nicmum2boys, Strike1, spub & Shelly24 and anyone else out there.

Bye for now and will check on you later.
xx

LunarSea · 18/08/2005 10:17

Congratulations to Petunia and Peepee, and welcome baggybear.

Don't know what's going on here. OPK says +ve, ferning test says +ve, and temp has gone down by 0.5C when it should be going up by that much. Talk about mixed signals. As the +ves are only one day after AF departed having hung around for 12 days this time, there's probably no chance this month anyway, even if they are right. If it's anything like a normal 2nd half of the cycle, I've only got about 8 days until she's back, so I might as well make the most of it I suppose.

Diddle · 18/08/2005 11:11

Hello,

lottielou - you at work yet, are you joining us???
Has anyone else tested today??? sure there was someone else who was.

Nothing to report here. 1 wk and a day until af is due. this time last month i started testing, just because i'm impatient, but i'm not testing now, i'm deterined to wait and not waste my money when Af turns up.

OP posts:
petunia · 18/08/2005 11:24

Morning all
HC- I'm still here! I'm just lurking!

I want to thank you all for all your "congratulations." I've got lots of conflicting emotions at the moment, one of which is huge guilt that we've only been trying for a month and I've got pg straight away. I second what Peepee said, with bding- every other night is what DH and I did, and I think it's what the experts say as well.

I've got to drop in at the Drs tomorrow to pick up a prescription, so I'll ask how to get in for a scan at the hospital at 8 weeks. With our surgery, you don't see a Dr anymore just book-in with the midwife around 9-10 weeks.

Anyway, I won't say "goodbye" (it'll be tempting fate as much as anything!) but I'll still be lurking to see how you all are.

Love to you all, Petunia.

Diddle · 18/08/2005 11:37

good to hear from you petunia, don't feel guilty, you're very lucky and our luck will come in too.

Lurk for as long as you want, you know we're hear to support you, pregnant or not.

OP posts:
HumphreysCorner · 18/08/2005 14:14

petunia-as Diddle says, don't feel guilty as it will be our turn sooooooooooon.

Rants-come on AF-show your face as I'm ready for you!
xx

nicmum2boys · 18/08/2005 16:35

Hi everyone, hope you are all getting a chance to enjoy the sunshine . I've been feeling really tired the last 2 days, in fact today I even fell asleep on the sofa when DS2 had his nap, also still feeling quite irrational and hormonal, just hoping it's for all the right reasons, rather than the more likely impending AF.
Have no idea what cd I'm on since last month I started bleeding at 6dpo (with one day spotting at 2dpo for good measure) and kept going for 13 days. I'm fairly sure I'm 6dpo though as I had all the right signs last friday. Very pleased not to be bleeding yet, hopefully means hormones are sorting themselves out, in that respect at least. Am not sure atall when to expect AF (hopefully 9 months lol), but if I get to 14dpo (next fri) I will test then.
Think I'll be in bed by 9 tonight, I'm sat here yawning my head off. DS1 has a friend for a sleepover tonight, so I'm not expecting to get a lay in in the morning! Must go and cook tea, try and catch up with you all later xx

Nearly forgot, Baggybear I would definately complain. Is there any way they can do a blood test to see if you've developed Rhesus antibodies, or is it a case of wait til you get pregnant and see what happens?
