TTC after a Miscarriage - Keep Trying!!!!

Diddle · 27/07/2005 15:15

Well ladies, its about time we had a new thread, the old one is getting very long. Plus I think we need another fresh start, with lots of positive babydust:

.,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'- .,'-.,'-.,'-',. .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',..,'-.,'-.,' .,'-.,'-.,'-',.

Get a big handful girls, i think we all need it.
I was trying to think of something great and positive to put, but this TTC lark is getting us all down, i'm fed up of trying, but we will all succeed eventually, our times will come.

It will be much better for our little ones to have a good start when our bodies are truly ready to carry them.

wishingchair - spotting started on what would have been day 18 - still only day 22 now - so a bit early for that. And anyway opk's showed negative every day from day 8 through to starting to bleed. So unless I OV'd before AF had even left after her last visit there's not really any chance of that.d

Diddle · 08/08/2005 15:15

congrats Shelly - excellent news.

hope you all had a good weekend. i'm trying not to get hooked to you guys again. might do a bit of lurking for a bit. if i can manage it.

HumphreysCorner · 08/08/2005 17:32

Afternoon ladies

How are we all today? Lots of fun and frolics I hope

Ooh petunia and wishingchair-when are you two going to start testing? Decisions, decisions!

Soz, got to go as DH needs the computer-Grrrhhhh!

Love to all, will be back later.

((xx))

HellKat · 08/08/2005 17:47

Humphreys- lol!!! Think we should call ourselves Orlaigh1 and Orlaigh2 (obsessed with our boobs too ) but that would be an insult, so think we should now be known as "The Amazing Boobie Squeezers!" and yes mine are still oozing when squeezed . Well done on the freebies girl at Brands Hatch!
Diddle- good to see you! Still testing neg here but very tempted to try and get endo sorted before getting pg again. If i don't fall by Sept, think i will. It's starting to affect day to day things, making me miserable and painkillers don't work. Dp is being a babe though and apart from getting loads of fuss, has said he does'nt mind ttc whenever it feels right. Guess it'll happen when it's all good and ready.
Got a naked baby running around (who's just discovered the joy of running on tip-toes, hands in the air everytime we say "Hallelujah praise the peas!"), sounds extremely odd I know but ever since he managed to feed himself veg, I said hallelujah, praise the peas. Yep I do get some proper dodgy looks! Especially when I forget that we're in a packed shop . oh the joys of being a bonkers mum!

petunia · 08/08/2005 18:55

Humphreys- if I have to start testing, not til day AF is due (week on Wednesday). Found that testing early just doesn't work for me, it's always negative. One thing I've noticed is my boobs really ache. They're only like this when I'm.......? No! Don't want to go there until next week! Trying not to get my hopes up!

maddyd · 08/08/2005 20:53

Fingers crossed Petunia xxxxxxxxxx

Hope evreyone is well, will be back on tomorrow, ive been taking it easy past few days but will catch up properly tomorrow

HumphreysCorner · 08/08/2005 21:58

Diddle · 09/08/2005 10:00

morning all
maddyd - how are you doing?? very concerned about you and your "stones".

Hope you're all ok. Shelly have you a big grin on your face???

lets hope this is all our lucky months

OP posts:
maddyd · 09/08/2005 10:54

Morning Diddle. Thanks for asking im not doing to bad. Pain has subsided after a night and i mean all night on the loo. It was horrible, wont go into detail but i had about two hours sleep. i should have wrapped a blanket round me and just sat on the loo all night.

Doc said this is normal and great. basically my stones have shifted allowing all the fat and bile to exit my body. i am now on a low fat and i mean low fat diet. No more than 5% fat per day to control the pain. I will take 3 months before they remove the gall bladder.

Im not ttcing this month but will be back trying again next month. Ive just done my ovulating test, im only day 9 and i have two great lines. Im a bit upset that its not a pregnancy test though . Anyway luckily im too ill to contemplate bding. Seems such a waste of a month though.

Listen to me blabbering on about me, how are you? Where are you in your ccle. I know your trying to be more laid back this month but i bet you know

Diddle · 09/08/2005 11:04

maddyd - oh you poor thing, sounds horrible, and i would feel the same about it being a waste of a month. But you need to get your body in tip top condition. You might need a break, it might make all the difference.

Yes i am trying to be more laid back, and I honestly am checking what day i'm on, I don't know without looking. I'm on cd19. pretty sure i've OV in the last few days. We are bd, every other day until Af comes, and are limiting our alcohol intake to see what diff that makes. if we don't conceive this month, then there must either be something wrong or we need to alter our diets I think, to make sure our eggs and swimmers are strong and healthy.

Really want to be Pg this month. Had a lady come round last night with her little baby, who is lovely, but made me very jealous. I'm going to start looking after her older son in Sept, and then another of the kids parents came round, who is 14 wks pg, bless her she's very considerate of our feelings though and makes sure we're doing ok, and is one of the few people who is brave enough to ask if we are pg yet, and if we're still trying.

I am staying positive, and really trying to limit my stress levels. DH stresses me out all the time, when he comes home grumy and tired from work and gets ratty with me, it winds me up and i can feel myself getting tense. So now i',m ingoring him as much as poss and laughing at him to try and break him rattiness.
fingers crossed ths is our month.

sorry seem to have waffled a lot, oops.

OP posts:
Diddle · 09/08/2005 11:05

maddyd - can't believe you have to wait 3 months, that is terrible, can't you go private, is that the wait to have an op, or have they said you MUST wait that long?
I suppose you being on the toilet all night and losing what you are is a good thing, isn't it? even though you have lost sleep, doesn;t it mean that your body is righting itself?

OP posts:
maddyd · 09/08/2005 11:15

I do feel so much better. Yes three month is the wait plus they dont operate whilst you have a flare up. It has to be calm. Dont ask me why????? Other hospitals are alot longer wait, up to a year.

If i should mamage to get pregnant then i will have to wait till after delivery as i wont put the baby at any risk. Anyway this low fat no fat diet ahs got to be a good thing. We have bought a steamer and a mountain of rice cakes. I have a Twix sat in the fridge looking ever so tempting though. last night i was scared to eat so i just has some soup.

Do you know what i am so pleased for Shelly, i so hope it all goes well for her. Shes had a rough time as we all have but for her and Chocolate peanut it must have been a harrowing experinence. My heart really goes out to them

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 09/08/2005 12:29

Thanks Maddyd

Sorry your suffering. Can you imagine if I could not eat chocolate?!!Has the hosp given you any indication of when they could fix it? My mum had gall stones removed years ago and she was ok afterwards.

maddyd · 09/08/2005 16:14

About 3 months Cp depending if i fall pg or not. I sent dp out to get me rice cakes with chocolate in them and he didnt get me them as had 9% fat and got me crummy old plain and Caramal ones. Men!!! I cannot give up my chocolate, pizza or Chinese. Woe is me

shelly24 · 09/08/2005 16:36

Thanks for your lovely message mads,am thinking of you all the time, hoping your 'stones' aren't causing you too much hassle, and the whole 'low fat' diet doesn't sound too great...but stick in there hunnyYou'll be better before you know it(thinking of you everyday!!.x)

cori · 09/08/2005 18:39

Hi everyone
,
Just got a quick question about OPKs. My OPK showed up a faint second line. Is this still a positive. I am using cheapo generic kits and have lost the instructions.
I am on CD 13, and usually OV around now. But want to be sure.
I have'nt been temping this month.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 09/08/2005 19:16

Cori

The line has to be the same colour or darker than the test line.I got a faint line all the time (not to be confused with pg tests) and on the ov day it was as dark if not darker than the test line.

Maddyd

Sorry if I am asking something you have already told us (had to flip through the last few days as dd at home)Why have you got to wait ttc? Is the pain bad? Did they say they would move them surgically or zap them? So many questions!!! Hope you are ok.Its cr*p not been able to eat nice stuff. After dd I lost weight easily except for last half stone and had to cut back drastically for that.I was HELL to live with (but then dh would say that I am like that all the time, even more so when ttc

Anybody out there waiting to test?? Come on now! We need another bfp to keep us all going.Shelly has set the ball rolling......

Shelly

How many weeks will you be when you go back to work or are you just going to take the full 12mths and stay off?I am hoping to be pg by the time my paid leave is up (24th Oct) so then I can count down to when I can finish again!!!!!

HumphreysCorner · 09/08/2005 19:25

maddyd-really feel for you. I saw the hell my mum went through until she had her gall bladder removed-now she eats almost anything without having pain afterwards. The op was completely trouble free and recovery was rapid.

Hello to everyone else-feeling tired with lots of pains down below. Either good news or AF planning a big return. Have 9 pee sticks left. I wonder how many I will have left by the 18th when AF is due .

Byee for now
((xx))

shelly24 · 09/08/2005 19:37

TBH c.p,i'm not really sure what to do!!?I'll be about 18/19wks by the time i go back(around the same time as you).Thing is i need to go back really don't i?If i take the full 12months,i won't get an m.p after that will i?,so i really need to go back till about march and then leave again!!!!
Do you think its ok to go back pregnant?will i be entitled to the maternity pay again?

maddyd · 09/08/2005 19:47

Cp i dont have to wait to ttc, i just thought id give this month a rest because of all the pain killers im on, then once ive learnt to control it with no fat food i can try again. But to be honest iil be back on the job soon. MY opk stick showed posotive today and im umming and arring wether to go for it. Im only on day 9 so its shows i ovulate very early.

Shelly, you need to speak to an advice line about it. Maybe sands will know if not then Citezens advice will.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 09/08/2005 19:55

Yes you are

I hope to be pg when i go back and then finish at about 7.5 mths for 6 months leave. You can stay off now till after baby born as mat leave will link the question is can you manage with no pay?(I couldnt )

Your Mat pay is calculated on average earnings during weeks 18 - 25 so its a good idea to go back around this time then when they calculate your pay for next leave you should get a decent amount. I am talking about your companys enhanced pay.The goverment will always pay £102 for 26 weeks (I think this will change in April 06 to 39 not sure will check)

Its upto you chick.I have already told work I intend to be pg by the time I return so they know they have not got me for long......

I will check about mat allowance and get back to you...xx

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 09/08/2005 20:00

Blimey am I the oracle on mat pay or what?!

Maddyd If I have learnt one thing in life its this

GO FOR IT

best of british what ever you decide........x

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 09/08/2005 20:25

or maybe I am not

9 mths mat pay is from april 2007 not 2006 (god if it takes me that long to get pg I will be 40)

shelly24 · 09/08/2005 20:35

Thanks c.p,thats really useful to know!
(you are clued up huh!!?),I will prob go bk in that case as i will need the money to buy all the nice baby things i keep seeing(the look in DH's eyes earlier when i showed him the pushchair i wanted said it all!!!.)
I'll let work know that i'm preg when i go bk(it'll prob show by then),and i'll prob start off part time cos i'm based in the baby unit and i'm not sure how i'm gonna handle that just yet!?.x
