So a slightly lighter and less scary thread for those who are chucking away the pills and the condoms and hoping for the best!

Right you are...if things still haven't happened will do another test tomorrow. Feels like i'm due to get AF any minute but still nothing.

Takethatlady - your romp-athon made me laugh out loud. Key for shagging not to be dull.

By the way - do any of you believe in the chat on positions making a difference? Getting fed up with the missionary!

takethatlady · 27/05/2010 11:51

I think there's no real evidence to support the positions thing, or even the cushions under your bum theory, though I suppose standing up means the sperm will exit quicker. But I think the little blighters are programmed to get there regardless...

Glad you enjoyed the romping! DH has just texted me to say he's come down with a horrific cold. But he's not going to get away with it that easily

Miffles · 27/05/2010 20:45

Ha ha ha ha ha!!! I so love all those euphamisms - though many are cringe worthy.
Think I am about to take things to a new low, though.

My younger sister used this phrase at a family meal. Once I figured out what she meant I laughed so much - but can't believe she said it in front of our parents, nor that her DH didn't clobber her...

Conversation drifted toward when you're in the mood, but DH is not...
"It's like trying to stuff a marshmallow into a piggy bank"

Fuzzywood · 27/05/2010 21:15

Rofl laughing at Miffles' sister. Hope the weather warms up for all you al fresco shaggers this weekend

NewMrsCharles · 27/05/2010 21:39

Thanks Fuzzy!

My DH is now working 12 hour shifts all weekend so camping os off this weekend so heres to next weekend already!

PinkFondantFancy · 28/05/2010 08:02

Hahaha miffles I've really got to stop reading this stuff on the train- people look at me like I'm a complete weirdo when I laugh out loud!!

vallinnapod · 28/05/2010 10:19

I really am letting the JS side down

Not only am I tracking my temp (I know, I know...but my iPhone Period tracker app has it as an option...) but last night was my hub's birthday and when we got back from dinner I went to bed. Alone. I know.

In my defence (I feel i need to justify this to at least myself!) I had probably had a bottle of vino and had busted my ass at the gym that morning. Still, felt uber guilty when I woke up!

To briefly stray into forbidden territory, this temp charting seems a bit rubbish to me. My temp is roughly the same, only spiking when I am hung over (tee, hee! This is only twice in 60 days which is somewhat of a record for me!) Although this could be down to the fact that it is CD60 with no sign of AF or BFP.

What is the JS etiquette for POAS in these circumstances? I was thinking once every two weeks was the sane decision?

BrassicaBabe · 28/05/2010 12:14

Right, I think I'm caught up with the news. I'd be able to post more often if the MN logo and adverts weren't such a give away to anyone passing my desk!

Wedding and honeymoon were pretty amazing. Egypt - hot, damn hot!

Welcome to all the newbies.

While 10 days of JS is impressive it was on days 2-12 so while enjoyable not very "prodcutive" . Then is come to days 14ish and we're shagged out and couldn't manage it. (Well I tried, but he wasn't going to succumb to my feminine ways having worked a 16 hour day! Git)

We're allowed to count on our JS thread I seem to remember.

Vanilla put down the thermometer . The only one I have in the house is for roast meat which keeps temptation away! But POAS is perfectly reasonable especially at +14 days! I reckon that peeing on 50 from days 7+ is against the rule though Come on then! Do tell!!

loopeylu · 28/05/2010 13:05

You've all brightened up my day..sitting here at my desk, eating my soggy sandwich, waiting for the Bank holiday weekend (and AF!) so w can JS!

I'm an now on day 33 - my normal cycles are like clockwork - 28/29 days. Did a preg test (I know, I know...I should have stepped away) on Monday and BFN. Haven't done one since. Wish I knew what the hell was going on and know i'm not pregnant in my heart of hearts.

Loosely mulled over the thought of peeing on sticks next month - but have decided I can't be fiddled with it...Just shag has to be the way to go!

Vanilla - maybe you should go and see the doc if you still haven't got your period having been off the pill for near on 60 days now?

loopeylu · 28/05/2010 21:32

Blimey - takethatlady i took your advice (a bit later than you suggested though and after several boozy suppers this week (oops)), staggered home from work with the shopping (ah the glamour) and, before cracking a bottle of wine decided i'd better do a cheapy boots test...fully expecting nothing and I got a BFP!

Still don't trust it and will do another test tomorrow morning.

Happy romping this weekend. May it lead to many a BFP for you all!!!!

PinkFondantFancy · 28/05/2010 22:32

Congratulations loopeylou!! I thought you might get a BFP as you had the same symptoms as me before I got mine. Wine is going to gather dust for a bit now then!!!!

gormers · 29/05/2010 07:27

Loopeylu - congrats on the BFP!! Seems even more special when you weren't really expecting it this month!!

Seems like there won't be a romp-athon in our house this weekend; we've got a million and one other things going on this weekend - but will have to at Lear make time for a million and two!!

Fuzzywood · 29/05/2010 08:49

Congrats Loopeylou!

takethatlady · 29/05/2010 09:34

Wahey loopeylu! I feel like I've played a part in that! Congratulations! Tell us when you do another test - but still, a + is a +!

Vallinna delete that app! It's more trouble than it's worth!

miffles the marshmallow/piggy bank analogy just takes the biscuit. I don't think I'm going to be able to think of sex in the same way ever again!

After last weekend my ten day rompathon has not gone to plan - only did it three days out of the last five, but I'm hoping that'll be enough. DH is very poorly atm so teasing has absolutely no effect. Bullying is not working either. Am starting to consider man-rape. But I'm on day 17, last (and only) cycle was 32, so I'm prob past the point now anyway.

Two week wait here I come!

BrassicaBabe · 29/05/2010 10:08

Congrats Loopey! I hope the wine's a keeper. It's got to survive a long time in the fridge now

Takethat We're on the same day! I'm usually 28 days but last cycle was 33 days. What day will you test? Waiting has never been my strong point!

loopeylu · 29/05/2010 11:42

Bloody typical - wrote you all a message and the internet crashed!

Was desperate to tell my husband last night..only for him to be stuck at work (he is a lawyer..poor sod) and didn't get home until 2am. I passed out - and left the pregnancy test on the sink - only to wake up to hear him say "f*ck"! Ended up doing another test at 2am with him hovering outside the bathroom and again BFP!

Thanks for all your support and encouragement. Takethatlady you definitely played a part! I wouldn't worry too much about the fact you won't be able to keep up the pace on the rompathon - thinking back over this cycle - I reckon we only managed to romp every other day from day 8 to 14 (twice on day 14!) and then JS didn't get a look in because we were both stuck in the office late for most of the week. So, take heart - you don't need to romp every day and you can give the invalid time to recover!

Keep me posted with everything...still a bit paranoid it can all go pearshaped.

williamsmummy1986 · 29/05/2010 11:48

Congratulations loopeylu hope you have a healthy 9 months (ish!!)

I think I must be the most impatient person in the wordl. The two week wait is killing me - I HATE waiting for anything. I want to know right now sigh whoever dreamed up this baby making this was an idiot ;-)

How are you all spending your rainy bank holidays? I'm off to the cinema with the husband to see Robin Hood (bet it's nowhere near as good as ths Kevin Costner one!)

StarflowerGirl · 29/05/2010 11:49

Congrats Loopey! I'm so happy for you!

I've been feeling pretty rotten for the past week with increasing lower abdominal cramps, low back pain and feeling so tired I could fall asleep standing up in a 10 force gale.

I've been trying not to symptom spot but when I started to get constipated (sorry for the TMI) I thought something might be up. I have Ulcerative Colitis y'see and have never ever been constipated! Finally this morning my partner suggested that I take a test, despite AF not being due until Tuesday, because apparently I'm irritable . We've just been and bought a First Response (BOGOF at Superdrug btw!) and I think, I don't know, but I think there's a very faint positive line! My partner can see it too and has just started looking at "family" cars as a result.

Eeeeeeeep!

BrassicaBabe · 29/05/2010 11:50

How long have you got left to wait williamsmummy?

I'm sat writing thank you cards. Read: watching telly and surfing the net!

williamsmummy1986 · 29/05/2010 12:07

Yey StarflowerGirl congratulations!!

BrassicaBabe due on Tuesday/Wednesday depending. I used to have a 28 day cycle before by son but now it can't make up it's mind between 28 and 27 days.

Ever heard the rhyme patience is a virtue, practice when you can, always in a woman and never in a man - yeah that doesn't apply to me. My OH is the one with all the patience and I hate waiting for anything. If I get it in my head that I need something or want to something it must be right that second. It made 9 months of pregnancy VERY hard work.

janedoe25 · 29/05/2010 13:04

A big congratualtions Loopey! my OH and I have been doing lots of JS and iam now on my 2ww. Im trying sooo hard not to symtom spot but it aint easy! AF should be due next wknd so not too lonf to wait.

frakkit · 29/05/2010 15:10

Congrats loopey and starflower!

Vallinna - step away from the thermometer and go see a doctor if you're worried. It's normal to have a super long cycle just after coming off the pill but that's been about 3 months, hasn't it?!

No JSing of any kind here as DH is super-busy with work...am aiming for once every other day next month but we have my mother coming to stay for 10 days

gormers · 30/05/2010 08:30

Starflower - wahey!!! Excellent news!!x

StarflowerGirl · 30/05/2010 10:34

Thanks everyone.

Took another test this morning and the line is still faint but a little darker than yesterday. I'm alternating between excitement and utter panic. My partner has gone into denial and says he won't believe it until the test line is as dark as the control line. sigh

I'm going to wait until Tuesday (due day for AF) and do a digital test just to make sure I'm not seeing things!

williamsmummy1986 · 30/05/2010 19:59

lol StarflowerGirl my DH was like that when I found out I was pregnant with my son, he wouldn't believe it until I saw a Dr who promptly said "did the home pregnancy test show positive. yes? Then you are" lol silly man. Congrats again, a line is a line after all :-)

I'm an idiot. I've been working on the assumption that my period was due tuesday or wednesday only to work out today it's due Thursday or Friday rolls eyes how vacant can you get. I think it's pretty irrelevant though, I'm pretty sure AF is just around the corner :-( you know how you have that "feeling".

Any exciting plans for bank holiday monday people? We're off to Sherwood forest if the weather is good. It seems to be a Robin hood theme this weekend - saw the new Robin Hood film yesterday and thought it was brilliant :-) slightly ridculous at points but brilliant none the less!
