Cycle Buddy? CD16 TTC+1yr - Over 35 - CBFM

Vodkaontherocks · 25/11/2009 12:26

Hiya all, will someone hold my hand and be my cycle buddy please? I've been lurking on these threads for a while, but as I seem to come under some many categories, I'm not sure which one to post on? I'm really struggling this month with fears of failure and would love to have some support from someone who knows exactly what I mean. Only one friend in RL knows we are TTC and she just keeps saying "stop stressing, it will happen", but it will be a year and I'm old - 36!. I've starting using CBFM this month and today have my first peak day on CD16. Cycle is quite regular 27-28 days.

I am obsessive about 2WW symptom spotting and drive myself crazy every month but keep getting BFN

Please/ anyone? (I'm not really crazy - honest?!)

Vodka we will be on the same cycle days! Not that that is anything to rejoice, AF started for me today aswell. Where do you get your sticks from? i got mine of ebay last time they were good value but the postage was quite expensive. Might check out amazon later today.

Scotchontherocks · 07/12/2009 12:23

Hey, Ladies.

Put off posting for a day, because feel a bit bad, but can report that got BFP yesterday morning.

Who knows what made the difference (if anything), but this month we:

  1. I stopped drinking & partner cut down.

  2. BD'd every other day (not as fun as it sounds)and spent a while afterwards dangling upside down (well, putting legs in the air at least)

  3. Used pre-seed lube.

We've been waiting nearly 3 years and it's early days here, so will continue to keep everything crossed for you all. Hope this gives you some hope, tho.

Yours soberly,

Scotch

Vodkaontherocks · 08/12/2009 14:04

scotch and points sorry to hear you are with flowers, its crap aint it?! I'm cutting down on the red wine, but consuming huge amounts of chocolate (that was supposed to be for Christmas). Spots, weight gain, food cravings... arghhhhhh! Thats on CD2 .

I order my sticks off amazon, although I'm worried I didnt order them in time. When does CBFM start asking you to test on month 2? Does anyone know?

PreSeed is ready and waiting, going to try and do the deed every day from CD10-20 this month!

Scotch - wonderful news! After 3 years - it's must feel like the most amazing feeling. I am truly happy that you got your BFP. I was thinking of the BD every other day this month too - did you BD after you ovulated too?

vodka - I think it will ask you on Day 6 with your cycle length? I got more of amazon yesterday - def the cheapest place to get them as free delivery as well. Wasn't going to bother with teh pre-seed but might get some anyway just to give it everything we've got this month!

pointsmakeprizes · 08/12/2009 14:59

vodka I read every other day is best to allow time for the sperm to build up again - I think it's supposed to be every other day and then every day that you get a positive opk and the day after it - so on the days that we get peaks.

MrsJackBauer · 08/12/2009 16:51

Congrats Scotch - you really do deserve to win the baby prize after 3 years of trying. Keep us posted with updates !!

Vodka I think in month 2 it has a better picture of your cycle so may ask later than day 6, depending on when you ov'd in month 1, so you only have to use 10 sticks.

I had a high on the monitor yesterday and today so am hoping for the peak tomorrow . We are doing every other day when high and every day when peak (looks like every other worked for Scotch tho!!) Have just stared a new job tho so whether stress will affect ovulation remains to be seen.

Saw a pregnant "teenager" smoking today - really make me v v angry. I went "grrrrr" under my breath and everything !!

Scotchontherocks · 09/12/2009 07:58

Thank you ladies - I'm touched by your big-heartedness. Still doesn't feel real at all - I joined this forum on the night flowers were due because I was cramping (as expected) and bawling my eyes out. Shows what I know!

Points - not been measuring for ovulation, so just every other day for the full month. We are shadows of our former selves and now having a well deserved rest!

Re: stress, I'm told it can affect ov, but not in my case. Was working 12 hour days around that time and also buying a house this month, so been pretty stressful. Perhaps good to have had something else to think about (although of course I thought about this the most, but just couldn't tell people).

Here's hoping you all get an extra Christmas present this year! x

Vodkaontherocks · 09/12/2009 09:34

OMG scotch Thats brilliant news! Congratulations. (How did I miss that when I read message yesterday, I'm so sorry!). You've given me a boost now, Ive got the PreSeed ready!!!!
Did you get any symptoms? Did you know? How do you feel now?
I've been really stressed and know Ive been drinking too much, eating the wrong foods etc so I'm really going to try and make it right this month.
WOW, our first BFP! Let there be more!
I'm on CD3 today, so will be due on 3rd Jan. Will have to be a sober NYE!

Well, girls, it appears I'm back. What a difference a week makes. MC at 6+1. Devastated. Been crying A LOT. Long wait before can try again.

Hope everything going better for you,

Scotch x

Vodkaontherocks · 14/12/2009 14:05

Scotch I'm so sorry, have a massive hug from me. I know nothing I say will help, but I am thinking about you and hope you can try and stay positive for when you do feel ready to try again. xxxx

Scotch I am soooo sorry to hear about your sad news. Try not to be too disheartened, this whole TTC process crumbles the best of us.

MrsJackBauer · 14/12/2009 20:00

Oh Scotch I am SO sorry for your loss. It really is devastating. If the emotional shock isn't bad enough you have to put up with the physical trauma too, which no one can prepare you for.

I know there is nothing I can say to help, but if you do wanna ask anything about my m/c experience please feel free. After doing a bit of research, I found a lot of comfort in knowing the way I was feeling was completely normal (not that I think it will, in any way, ease your pain.) Hugs.

Hope everyone else is doing ok xxxxxx

Scotchontherocks · 18/12/2009 00:31

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for your good wishes (again!) Am ok - down, but not out.

How are you all doing? (or is it 'that time' so you're all otherwise occupied ?!)

pointsmakeprizes · 20/12/2009 10:16

Hi scotch good to see you back, how have you been feeling? I've been hiding on the style and beauty threads for a while, but can't keep away from the ttc madness too long!

Got a high on my cbfm yesterday so getting close to 'O' time. Found out in the last week that two friends are pregnant with their second ones both first month trying so felt a bit down for a while but maybe it will be our time this month?

MrsJackBauer · 20/12/2009 17:39

Hello all ... Good to hear you are hanging on in there Scotch. Points hope you're not feeling too down - did you mention before you have children? I bet they are hyper and keeping you busy!!

Vodka how you doing?

Well its day 24 for me and I have been driving myself crazy (as usual!!) Implantation spotting???!!! Implantation pains???!!! Implantation toothache??!! You name it, I've thought it. Been trying to decide if its worth testing early, WF due Xmas Eve/Xmas day, and could do with a bit of news by then!! Even if only to drink away my sorrows, and get me through another childless Christmas.

Vodkaontherocks · 21/12/2009 10:47

Hello all, hope you're all busy - shopping and eating like me!
Scotch good to see you back, stay positive chick, easier said than done I know.
Mrs JB Have you tested yet, or is too early? Crossing my fingers for you x
Points i've also been lurking on other threads trying not to start the craziness. I'm currently on my 4th day of highs, still no peak but plenty of action in the lurve dept!

I have a good feeling for us all - bring on the 2010 babies xxxxxxx

OP posts:
pointsmakeprizes · 21/12/2009 13:31

Mrs JB I am a real POAS addict so I would def be testing now but try to hold off for a couple of more days, there's nothing more depressing then not getting the result you want especially if it turns out to be a BFP anyway! I have one DC who is keeping me busy so I am very thankful for that.

I'm still on high at the moment, i hope i get the peak tomorrow. Been trying every other day since AF finished and planning every day once I get the peak.

Vodkaontherocks · 23/12/2009 11:10

hi everyone,
i'm on my 2nd peak today, managed to squeeze in a BD yesterday morning, but last night was a now show as DH was not in any state after his xmas party, or this morning. I was but theres always tonight, I suppose? Do you think I've missed the chance again this month???

I might not get chance to get on MN over Christmas so I want to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and New Year. (fingers crossed for some good news!!!!)

cheers everyone

OP posts:
MrsJackBauer · 24/12/2009 11:25

Merry Christmas Eve all !!

Bad news from JB central - big fail for me this month again - WF arrived promptly today.

Trying to keep my spirits up, which am sure will be aided greatly later with actual spirits. Boozy Christmas here I come (not my preferred choice obviously but never mind!)

Lots of luck for those "at it" with a vengence - fingers crossed all the hard work will pay off !!

Have a great few days xxxx

pointsmakeprizes · 27/12/2009 10:10

So sorry to hear WF got you JB, hope you had a good christmas day and managed to forget about TTC for a bit.

Not sure what is happening with my cycle this month, no peak on CBFM yet but had all the symptoms of Ov and my temps have gone up so I think I have O already and the CBFM may have missed it. DH is going for a sperm test on Wed so tomorrow is the last day we can do the deed so will give it one last shot as it were tomorrow and then just hope for the best this month.
