Thought as there was 955 messages on our old thread that we should have a new one again, its very annoying scrolling down to the bottom.

{grin}

Welcome to our new thread girls.

Should we put our stats again???
saves us thread hopping, and we have had newbies.
I will try and copy some from the old thread.

Hi Diddle - I'm a bit in limbo at the moment as I'm waiting for results of loads of bloodtests (well 14 actually) to see if that throws any ligt on the m/c so I probably shouldn't be actively trying at the moment (am not exactly avoiding it though, so you never know although I'm not holding my breath). Still another 3 weeks to go before I get all the results though, so cycles permitting hopefully we'll get the all clear in time for next month. Then I just need to con dh into thinking OV isn't when it really is, as otherwise he'll probably find a way of avoiding any bd at the appropriate time. Funny isn't it - humans are supposed to be a superior species, yet with every other animal the males just know when the right time is - with humans they want it all the time except when it's actually going to be effective

Hi Everyone,
Have ahd a busy weekend. Went to Live 8 on Saturday night, I was out in Hyde park all day yesterday too, havent had a chance to check in.

Maddyd- WHat a confusing message you have had, Ihope it turns out OK.
AF turned up on Friday and appears to be a normal period so looks like it is all systems go for this month.

Xena · 04/07/2005 10:45

How are you doing MaddyD?
Heelkat I haven't taken the pill this month and should ov on thurs, but I'm thinking of not BD between tomorrow and sun??

spub · 04/07/2005 11:02

Hi to you all.
Newbie on this board. Miscarried at 7 weeks 4 weeks ago. Have an adorable dd of 2.5 yrs so have been comforted by the knowledge that I can do a succesful pregnancy, thankful that as these things go I didn't have the worst time of it (physically, at least) and humbled by some of the postings from other women on these boards.

I had a lot of limbo time where there was dubiety about my dates, the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy and a month's worth of blood tests at the hospital to check HcG levels. I finally got discharged on Friday.

I am now completely desperate to be pregnant again. However, I haven't yet had a period and have no idea when one will return. I had literally just come off the pill when I got pregnant in April so I'm impateintly waiting for AF to arrive so I can get back on the babymaking trail.
As others have said, there just seem to be pregnant women everywhere and I want to be one, too!!! Preferably at plus 12 weeks with reassuring scans, etc. under my belt!

Hope to get to know you all a bit better but not for too long! Best of luck to you all and it's so nice to know that other people feel the same as I do.

Diddle · 04/07/2005 11:14

welcome Spub - so sorry to hear of you're miscarriage. I hope we can help and support you through this horrible time.
How are you feeling??? Empty, sad, mad at the world?
Its terrible that we have to go through this, but we can do it, our time will come. hopefully soon, I know i feel the same as you, desperate to be pregnant again, it has been 3 months since my 2nd m/c and i'm so impatient.

(((((((big hugs to you))))))))))

Cori - wow you lucky thing i bet live 8 was amazing, I don;t think i'd have the energy to stand there all that time though.
Saw most of it on tv, and will definitly be getting the dvd to see what i missed.

Any BFP for anyone yet?

Diddle · 04/07/2005 14:33

spub · 04/07/2005 14:43

Hi again, guys,

Thanks for the welcome and the commiserations. Miscarriage is such a "common occurence" isn't it - until it happens to you .
Hope maddyd's news is good (fingers crossed emoticon).
Off to see an acupuncturist tonight to try and get AF back! I'll let you know how it goes....

Have a good afternoon.

Lottielou · 04/07/2005 15:07

Maddyd - WOHOOOOOOOOO CONGRATS! Oh that is fab news!
Diddle - Thanks for letting me know. Hows your day going?
Welcome to the newbies! x x x
Still cant really muster up being back onhere fully, my head was screwed from last month! Will be back on form soon, i promise x

wishingchair · 04/07/2005 15:26

Hi everyone ...

maddy - got my fingers crossed for you - let us know soon

spub - so sorry to hear about your miscarriage and subsequent hospital nightmare ... hope things get better for you soon

cori - so jealous about live8 ... it looked fab ... would have loved to have seen the who and pink floyd - they were just amazing

As for me, it's all systems go. Af finished on Sat and have so far bd'd twice - that's pretty good going for us. Don't think dh can believe his luck. Sat him down and said I can't cope iwth a stressful pregnancy preceeded by months of am I/aren't I so I don't want any wasted opportunities therefore he needs to be prepared for constant shagging. Hmmm - now I've written it down, surely any man would think all his xmases had come at once with that sort of a lecture

So will keep you posted!

spub · 04/07/2005 15:47

Hi wishingchair,
LOL at your message. Yeah, what man in his right mind wouldn't welcome a total shagfest?
My dh was swinging between being really chuffed that I got pregnant right after coming off the pill in April and glorying in his new nickname, "the sperminator" (coined by one of his male friends) and being a bit disappointed that the sexual shenanigans were then back to pre ttc levels!
He's far from delighted by the circumstances but I reckon will still be up for ttc shagfest once again!
Let's hope we all actually enjoy ourselves rather than get too focused on the outcomes to have a good time

Diddle · 04/07/2005 16:03

hello lottielou - have you have you're bp checked again yet? will the doctor monitor you?

OP posts:
Diddle · 04/07/2005 16:09

lottie - days going ok, busy as always, i'm enjoying having the kids back have missed them loads. don't know fi you had time to read through the thread, but maddyd, is in limbo, she has since had a bfn after her bfp so she is not sure what is happening. we haven't heard from her. hope she's ok.

wishing chair - very pleased to see you're joining us with the bd not literally!!

DH says he feels like a baby naking machine, and so do I. its all we think about, even if we try not to, especialy when we're bd, its taken the fun out of it. But its not stopping us yet.

OP posts:
Lottielou · 04/07/2005 16:10

Hey Diddle - Yeah i had it checked last Thursday. It was fine and back to normal. I have to have it checked quite a lot anyway cos of history of heart problems in my family - What with my Dad having a major one a couple of months back and my g'parents suffering i just need monitoring. I'm fighting fit tho.
Have you seen Million Dollar Baby? I watched it last night... OMG it was amazing. Not good for my emotions tho, it was so so sad. Have been non stop talking about it all day and no-one has seen it where i work so have been demand everyone hire it so i can talk about it. Please say someone has seen it?!?

Diddle · 04/07/2005 16:17

sorry lottie haven't seen it, but will make sure i do now you've recommended it.
Very pleased to hear your bp is down, was a little concerned. I can understand you not wanting to be talking about baby making and getting pregnant all the time, and if you want to stay away then you should, but im missing you!!!!!!

OP posts:
maddyd · 04/07/2005 17:10

A Warning false positives do happen. rare but do!!!

There is a down side to extra sensitive pregnancy tests though. 25% of all pregnancies unfortunately end in miscarriage and many of these being very early pregnancies. If you use a very sensitive pregnancy test, where you test before the day your period is due, you could catch an early pregnancy but end up going on to have your period anyway due to a very early miscarriage. Some women will find it very hard to deal with this sort of emotional rollercoaster.or

False positive results can occur if pituitary gonadotrophin levels are elevated in the urine, for example, in older women when ovulation is failing and the pituitary excretes more gonadotrophins to stimulate the failing ovary. Haematuria, alkaline urine and vaginal discharge can also affect the test, but these false positives are decreasing with improved specificity of assays.

maddyd · 04/07/2005 17:11

i think basically i tested too early and it didnt implant. Next time ill wait till my period is late. Mind you this one is.

Lottielou · 04/07/2005 17:13

Diddle - Yeah you should see it! it's not what you will expect, believe me!
Missing you too huni, i will pop in and out to stay in touch, perhaps later this month i willbe ready to be back on.
Well off for the evening now, will catch you tomo hun.
Maddyd - Does that mean your not PG? x
