Actually now I feel guilty using up the last post of the thread - hope this will do as a continuation

Hi, Just popped in to say Congratulations Bluebell! I'm sure the BFPs will keep coming as the winter nights close in...hee hee hee. Hoping that if we missed the bus this month december holds much promise - that's what happened last time, a few days off here and there and DH gets much more fruity .
Bellydanced at a show last night so feeling v pleased with self as belly was WAY on show and I loved every minute. Plus its a sexy thing to learn so DH appreciated it too.

Love & hugs all round

rowingboat · 22/11/2009 19:21

Hi ILGH sorry to hear about your sicky family, you will be extremely busy. It would be funny if you forgot to POAS and got a BFP anyway.
What is a grade 5, is it very difficult?

TFLS our poor menfolk. I'm not sure what my DP says about me, we have kept the infertility issues to ourselves, rather than letting everyone get their oar in. This means we can't discuss the IVF and have to make excuses for my frequent hospital doctors visits and excessive tiredness.

Wood I have a friend who teaches bellydancing and she had fantastic births, absolutely text book with no complications and no drugs.
Have you been bellydancing for long?

I went to Holland and Barrett on the way home tonight and bought some goldenseal tincture for me and DS. Has anyone tried it?

KiwiKat · 22/11/2009 20:42

What's goldenseal tincture for, Rowing?

ILoveGregoryHouse · 22/11/2009 21:43

Rowing, grade 5 is for the ABRSM music exams -it's intermediate level really. Sorry, just read my post and it was a bit random. Am singing 4 songs for the exam and have an aural exam too - sight singing is part of it and am crap at that. Never mind.

Thanks for the good wishes for the poorly boys. Am off to bed now as v late here and just in from night out with friends. Lovely and civilised - and we can still sit outside here. Not for much longer though, starting to get a bit chilly at 25 degrees during the day and 18 at night. The locals will actually wear balaclavas, gloves and puffa jackets soon. Makes me larf.

rowingboat · 22/11/2009 22:37

Kiwi stop it! You are terrible. LOL! It's not a fertility thingy, it's for my sinuses, I think they are still a bit infected.
I also have a poorly kiddo so I bought the child version to give him some as well.
It's kind of a natural antibiotic.

ILGH I hope your sofa recovers. So what are you singing? Is it for anything in particular?
Your chilly night sounds positively balmy.
I worked in Greece for a bit and the girls there wore puffa jackets in May, it was boiling.

Woodelf · 22/11/2009 22:52

Hi Rowing! I've been bellydancing for 2 years exactly, took it up when DS was 18m in the hope of rediscovering the lost territory that was my pelvic floor and to get my waist back on track...
Actually I really love it and I have also heard about the moves being v useful for birth too. As I remember when I had Alex in the water I was moving around my hips in a very similar way but that was just instinct!

ILGH best of luck for wednesday, stay calm and remember to breathe;)

mabh · 23/11/2009 13:15

Bellydancing and singing! What lovely lives you lead.

rowing you are clearly very hot on your alternative therapies! You know it's funny, you'd think I would be as I've done all sorts of courses and training in related things, but for some reason I don't seem to be able to apply it to ttc. I really don't know why.

I wonder if I've we've embarassed bluebell? Maybe she's a discreet kind of girl.

Above the flood level here, thank wotsit. We are about 650ft above sea level. DH's job is affected by the flooding, but not as much as we feared. Heart goes out to them, though.

pat42 · 23/11/2009 15:05

Hi, Lovely Ladies. Had been trying to keep away from all the threads as I had convinced myself that it was my month and I was planning to come back with good news. But Af had no mercy and got me yesterday.
Sorry Tetley. Chin up. It will happen when its meant to happen. Congrats Bluebell.
Rowing, hope your sinuses are better now.
Best wishes for everybody.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 23/11/2009 15:48

Ah well, it's CD21 and I was holding out hope but think AF has got me too. Am now wondering if I have a short luteal phase. I've read that B6 supplementation 50-300mg daily can help. Anyone know?

rowingboat · 24/11/2009 00:28

ILGH what do you mean you think AF has you? Do you have sight of AF? Or do you just suspect she is lurking around the corner?
YOu never know....
Paaat where have you been? You know your namesake is leaving Eastenders?
Stupid sinuses, thought they were improving then DS gets another cold and coughs in my face repeatedly. I hope I can fight it off. [flails around]
That's good news Mabh, I don't want to see you on the news at ten on a rubber dinghy floating about in your street .

gonepearshaped · 24/11/2009 08:08

Hi all,

Am struggling today, three mums from DS class have all announced they're PG in last couple of weeks, along with another friend. Only consolation is they're all late 30's early 40's. Feeling a tad hopeless about it all at the moment - DP is waay too fond of his beer and he smokes. Don't think we have a milkpop in hell's chance. Makes me so angry with him and you can imagine the response i get if I suggest he cuts out booze and fags for the greater good. Am also cross cause I've knackered my knee so I can't do any running which effectively means I have to eat like kate moss (unless i want to turn into hippo woman). Sorry for the winge, I guess AF is on her way.

OP posts:
thefatladyscreams · 24/11/2009 09:52

I'm very impressed with all this belly dancing and music exams! Feeling very boring in comparison!

Sorry to hear AF got you pat. I'm on day 28 and just had a slight drop in my temperature so suspect I will be joining you shortly. Hope you've escaped ILGH.

That's tough gonepearshaped but good news re their ages I guess. If you can't run at the moment, how about investing in a punch bag and putting a picture of DH's fags and booze on it

rowing - I can't believe you're not well yet. You seem so patient - I'd have gone loopey by now. What do you mean Pat is leaving Eastenders. The woman in my bank's call centre told me something was happening to Peggy at Christmas. No surprise there then!

mabh · 24/11/2009 10:18

Aaaaw pear we've all been there. My DH smokes, too and I know what you mean - it's all very well him smoking outside away from me, but he seems to think that his wrigglers won't be affected. I guess that's addiction for you. As you say, though, at least the ages give us all hope that we'll be behind them.

And I think I may actually be hippo woman

ILoveGregoryHouse · 24/11/2009 13:04

Well, had a bright red bleed yesterday afternoon - just on the paper mind you - and then it's faded to brown. Assumed it was a bit much for an implantation bleed but it's still at virually nothing/slight brown stain now so fingers crossed. May be back on later boo-hooing about more bright red but you never know. Boobs very tingly and a bit sore too, which would be odd for CD2. Maybe I'll nip out for more tests.

Rowing, I had terrible sinusitis once - for a month and couldn't get rid - was pg with DS2. But I went to an accupuncturist and it was gone in a matter of days. Don't know if you've done that already but it's worth a try if not - as long as you don't mind needles in your face.pear can you you do weights and swimming instead of running? I hope you feel better about all the news soon.

Anyone due to pee on a stick in the next day or so?

hippychick66 · 24/11/2009 14:21

Hi, I've not been on for ages. Had a dreadful vomiting bug on Saturday and am still unwell now. AF got me again on day 23 - so short LP despite the progesterone gel. I am going to go to a consultant and find out just what the F is going on. i've had 6 cycles since removal of coil as far as I know I've Ov'd every time and everytime the god damn lining comes away at about day 22-24 and makes the whole process pointless

Sorry to moan but I'm very miserable today . If i have to pay to see a consultant then i think i will cos it is so pointless to keep trying when the second half of my cycle is letting me down. I've been taking 100 mg vit B complex as well and doing reflexology. I just want to know if it's my age or something else. If we've left it too late and the LP is short cos of that then I need to know.

AF is such a bitch she didn't even wait until the vomiting bug had gone she just barged right in - arrgghhh!

mabh · 24/11/2009 14:26

Aah hippy I hate norovirus. I am a bit of an emetophobe, and it makes me so miserable. And that's without your other worries.

Definately time to get to the consultant and get some answers - it sounds like you're doing everything you possible can.

Woodelf · 24/11/2009 17:37

Hi there,

AF got me too today - wierdly for me I had an exact 28 day cycle - most unusual but I take it as a sign that things are on track... Reaching for the choccy as we speak - shame we don't have an emoticon for that! I always say chocolate is one of my five a day.....

Am also very grateful for the DS I do have - but caught myself oohing over little girl clothes in TKMADIFUGOTHERE this morning!!!

thefatladyscreams · 24/11/2009 23:27

Chocolate as one of the five a day - now you're talking my language

Sorry AF got you woodelf

ILGH -sorry but I've lost count which CD you're on. Is there any chance it could be implantation bleeding??? If not, I'm sending you chocolate in advance

Blimey hippy no wonder you're feeling so down. A bug like that will make you feel really low and then AF and all the LP concerns to boot. Take care and hope you're building yourself back up. Does sound like it might be worth enquiring about a consultant when you're feeling better.

spiralqueen · 25/11/2009 11:10

Congrats Bluebell.

Thread sounds a bit down at the moment what with illness, floods, AF visits and general hacked off-ness with ttc. Having to fight DH off with a stick at the moment as in the run-up to the hycosy. Fortunately he's gone away for a few days so I stand some chance of meeting the no sex criteria for the procedure.

I did hear that you get some immediate feedback on how your innards are looking when they do the hycosy - has anyone else had it and can verify that? Otherwise it's waiting til the Xmas appointment with the consultant.

rowingboat · 25/11/2009 14:49

Hi all,
Hippy that sounds rotten, I hope you are on the mend now.
TFLS chocolate is not a five a day, now put it down and go back to that lovely plate of dried apricots.
Spiral I'm not sure how similar a hycosy is to a hsg. I had the latter and the doctor did show me the screen and pointed out the shape of the uterus and the tubes - one didn't fill with the dye, which is how we concluded it was blocked.
My doc told me he would unblock the tube and then recanted so I requested a second opinion. The other doctor wasn't very enthused about unblocking the tube, but it did make doc no.1 sit up and start paying me some attention.

hippychick66 · 25/11/2009 16:31

Thanks to all for you kind messages. Went back to work today and am officially better as I have eaten real food (dry toast was all I'd had since Sat - yes, I now weigh 8 stone - hahahahaha).

I have appintment with Gp nxt monday to ask to be refered to consultant and am feeling positive that my short LP will be easily fixed if the right person gets on the case [positive emoticon).

Am I the only one who's hubbie is moaning that I seem so much more keen for sex on the important days. He wants me to be just as eager all through the month (except the really horrid days). I think he is feeling like I am using him a bit - poor git!!

Mabh how is the fertility monitor going - earning it's keep???

Can't help about the hycosy sorry - hadn't heard of it before you mentioned it spiral.

Anyone know what's happened to Bluebell? Congrats anyway, we all just wanna know HOW DID YOU DO IT? Apart from the obvious answer of course .

bluebell6 · 25/11/2009 20:20

Thank you so much for your lovely messages

Details? Well I have a lovely ds conceived through AC after 2 years ttc and after another year ttc we decided to go that route again as I was then 41 and dh 46. Have been on the AC forum since June - so we had 2 iuis early this year with no luck. We then moved onto ivf in July, which didnt work and left me in pretty bad way, physically, mentally, emotionally and financially
After that we had pretty much given up hope.

In oct we went on holiday to cheer ourselves up and decided to do a last ever ivf early 2010. A few weeks later we got a bfp It took us totally by surprise. Cannot believe we did it this time without assistance! obviously its early days (Im only 6weeks pg) but we are cautiously over the moon and I feel that you hear so many negative things about your chances at 40plus I just wanted to share the news!

Good luck to you all xxx

hippychick66 · 25/11/2009 21:32

Wow Bluebell If I had a pound for every time someone said, "We just went away and relaxed and decided blah blah and before we knew it we'd done it by oursleves!" It really is a state of mind isn't it? Unfortunately we can't fake that. We can't say to our bodies, "OK I'm chilled, what will be will be etc" - unless we really mean it.

It's wonderful news for you after all you've been through recently - sending lots of sticky stuff so that your little bean stays put. Please do hang around and talk to us, we like happy stories .

mabh · 26/11/2009 10:51

bluebell thanks for letting us know. As hippy says, you hear that tale so often! So pleased for you. Now it's my turn, please .

hippy well still using the monitor - it did pick up ov when I had ov pains so I am reassured that I am not completely imagining what's going on. DH stepped up to the plate for 6 days on the trot so we had the critical days well covered. Now I've got a week to wait for AF. Not hugely hopeful though - I've a feeling I'm going to be the one with pickled eggs and drunken wrigglers. FGS I don't feel that old, but I obviously am.

BTW I now get very bad tempered in the 2ww which could either be discovery of PMT (never had it before) or I'm fed up. Gah.

hippychick66 · 26/11/2009 15:49

Hippy passes a medal to Mabh - 6 days in a row - dedications what you need!
