Oh dear sometimes the poor men just don't get it right at all. The good news is the wine will keep - if you hide it!

littlebellsmum · 01/11/2009 20:42

Tis hidden!!! Luckily I thought it was funny! Anyway, got to go, need some tea but really not sure what I want to eat as everything makes me feel rubbish!

barbie1 · 02/11/2009 15:20

hellllllooooooooooooo

Super re charged barbie is back and has an hour of peace while dh is at football so i can sit and talk to you girlies...

Friends left on sat and spent sunday evening trying to stay awake later than 6pm we filled the week we had with them completely, acting like tour guides so its only understandable we were both completely wiped out yesterday, hence the lack of posting. It was nice to do some of the touristy things again and look at dubai through fresh eyes....it really is a great place to be but like all people we take it for granted after being here nearly 11 months!

The news from me is that the little thing inside me is now offically a 'baby' i have cracked the 24 week barrier and now am viable

In light of this we have pulled our fingers out and finally registered at the hospital on saturday, going to the maternity unit was v. v. emotional....Had to escape to the washroom to hide the tears

Dh was so funny on seeing a newborn he asked me how old i thought it was, when the mother who heard replied 2 days i thought dh was going to faint from shock because he said how do it all fit inside???? Im glad he saw how big it gets as i think men forget what we are carrying around on a daily baises...made he really realise my moaning is acceptable!

We also did the whole baby list and pram shopping. We tried so many prams and the only one i can really operate is the bugaboo....however over here it cost £1000!
We are going to see one tomorrow that a lady bought and didnt like so its nearly brand new, its half the price and has everything with it. Failing that we will order in the uk and get one of the parents to bring it out.

I also had my 24 week checkup this week and instead of listening to the heartbeat with the doppler she scanned me instead, so i got to see the baby again i heart my doctor! Back on saturday for a gloucose test and bloods...

Oh and im 2 days shy of 25 weeks now....

Anyways enough about me, i hope you all had a good weekend and didnt pig out on the kids halloween sweeties!

4ever you are doing so so well, i hope you are rested and making the most of your dh pampering you. Has dh cold gone yet? was it confirmed as swine flu??? Ive been racking my brains about names...
hows about something in chat..im trying to add as many small panters/ no panters to the title to bring them luck..
so far 'where mermaids play under a bluemoon searching for jools while wobbling weebles watch from the shores.... you get the drift! Come on girls help me out!!!!

neeko can understand the stress when dh is away, i hated it when mine was away and made every wobble seem so much worse! i too wish we all lived near each other, coffee mornings would be a scream with some of the info we know about each other!

vjay your son is soooooooooooooo cute, i want one just like that same goes for you sabs saara is gorgeous, now i cant make up my mind if i prefer a boy or a girl! i hope dh is settling in with the both of you at home. It was good to hear about your traditions, although im sure i couldnt keep them up for long
I hope both of you are enjoying your new additions, by the sounds of it it wont be long until the next few arrive..which brings me on to....

blue I have everything crossed you get a few more weeks to prepare for your new arrival...how are you feeling now? when is your next appt? are you going to spill on your name choices????? I have been daring to take sneaky peaks at the things my mum bought over...im dying to get them all washed and folded but will resist until i give up work and have the time to do so...

cupcake im still smiling at your news...did i tell you i made my friends and dh rush home from the beach so i could check for updates not addicated to mn i promise! Your mum sounds v much like mine, she started buying things from week 7, although i did give her very strict instructions not to tell anyone til week 12, not sure if she really kept the promise with me being over here now the whole bloody world knows as well as the cashier in tesco and the strange man who walks his dog past the house in the mornings

lbm i hope when you finally get your head out of the sand you blow your nose really hard cos the sand will harden up there over time and will cause a nose bleed...ha ha glad you had a good holiday and bravo for remaining so upbeat!

buddha hello my lovely....hope the pains are easing and that dh is enjoying his new job! Not long until your mat leave starts pretty lady, im very as i still have 8 lonnnnnnngggggg weeks! How is the baby shopping going, are you almost done....and how about names for you have you managed to decide from your short list? Funny how we both had the same name, great minds and all that!

annie how you keeping? now so long for you now either....

jools i so hope you have a fab 40 birthday, i tried to arrange for a cake to be at the restaurant for you but they couldnt help me instead im sending you bundles of barbie hugs and best wishes....remember 40's is the new 30's. Hope dp and you are working things out and you have a better start once all the nasty dates are out of the way. Hand holding if needed ok.

mermaid surely you must as some kind of attire on your bottom by now? By the sounds of it the weather is bloody freezing in the south west...Have you finished your crimbo shop yet?

mrskate it seems your pregnancy is flying by please tell gg i miss her and to pop back to update us all....

baking hope you are feeling better after your bout of illness...take care and get plenty of tlc

curly how is curlygirl are you having another scan? i cant remember my memory isnt what is used to be i hope your pain has subsided too....I have decided to give the heart scan a miss cos its nearly £700 and i can control the palputations and everyone tells me is normal in pregancy anyway. I have promised to go and get checked out if they get worse...

Phew i think thats all???

Serves me right for being away too long....

Big hugs to all

BlueMoon1981 · 02/11/2009 19:33

Hello lovely ladies,

i am still lurking to keep a check on you all. Barbie you have such a kind heart in choosing the threads new name

Hope everyone is doing ok. I am still feeling and not up to saying much but didn't want you all to worry. Think i'm on the 2ww

Neeko · 02/11/2009 20:13

Hello
Barbie That was some post. Bet you had to go to bed after that. Time is really ticking by for you which is great. I'm 20 weeks tomorrow (half-way -eek!) and can't wait to get to the viable stage. Glad to hear that you and your DH are making concrete plans as it'll be your time before you know it.

MrsKate Please can we have a link to your new pram so we can ogle at it? I'm keeping the same pram as I had with DD but would quite like to change it. Nothing wrong with it so it would be a complete waste of money and DH won't go for it. Harumf!

Moon Really nice to hear from you. Sorry you're still sad. Hope this 2ww is fruitful but try not to drive yourself daft by symptom spotting - impossible, I know!

4ever so glad today's scan went well. You sounded so excited in your text. Hope you're allowing yourself to believe just a smidgen.

LBM Holding your hand for that giant hurdle later in the week. Know you don't need me to since you're not pregnant but going to hold it anyway, if that's ok.

Does anyone else not like the changes they've made to MN. I used to get really excited when i clicked on 'I'm watching' and saw a huge list of posts I had to read. Not sure I like other people changing things

iggypiggy · 03/11/2009 10:07

I am still lurking too everyone

Just not got much to say at the mo - am not on 2ww - although technically I am - I have not counted days or done much really. Just wanting to have a happy couple of months and worry about ttc in the new year.

Nice to hear from everyone - loving barbie's mega post

lbm head in sand sounds like a plan!

Hugs to moon, jools and anyone else that needs one!

barbie1 · 03/11/2009 10:28

4everhopeful · 03/11/2009 12:29

Hey ladies a quickish one from me! Thanks for the lovely tx yesterday before & after my scan! It was truly the most amazing scan ever & and baby was manically waving arms, hands & legs as if to reassure us! It was front on so saw everything! He looks so big (yep convinced its a boy!) We couldnt stop staring at the screen & squealing in delight at how much he was moving, it was the most amazing thing ever!! Im starting to reconsider my rigidness of dates & maybe agree with hosp that Im 10wks today instead of on friday cos its nice to be moved on a few days! DH & I are truly starting to believe now, each scan before its just a relief its still alive & growing ok, this is the first one we dared to be excited! I felt a tinge of when reading about our lovely cupcakes scan & how good it must be to have that level of reassurance after just one scan, but its slowly happening for us too now, dare I say it!

3 of my 4 babys never got to to this stage, & our 3rd one had the massive nuchal fold spotted at 10wks so although she didnt tell us til the following wk, I knew, then at wk 11 we were rushed up for a nuchal scan in fetal meds on same day & were basically told it was highly unlikely baby would survive full term, so all the joy of seeing hands feet & movement was taken away & didnt even look or it as think subconsciously detached ourselves...

Yes Im really beleieving this is gonna be our little soldier dare I say it!

Just a quick shout to the lovely cupcake - I hope your edd was not too painful or sad yesterday & as I said, our lost angels will always be remembered.. Big hug xxx

Also, Annie im really touced by your support & we miss you posting, not long for you now hon!!!

Big waves & shouts to everyone else & will do a mammoth Barbiesque post to you all later...

Lovely to see such a big update from you Barbie we missed you girl! Bless your thoughts on thread names! I loved your first idea - may I elaborate? How about:
