BellasYummyMummy · 26/06/2009 10:27

lots of luck to those testing today!!

missiek · 26/06/2009 10:44

hi everyone,

BYM congratulations, fantastic news, so pleased for you! Can i swap seats and sit where you were sitting please?

nanoo twins would be great!

liaghen i'm sorry, have a lovely holiday, relax and enjoy

teenycalls and nancypreg can I join you with the mad sympton spotting, although have been spotting slightly again and now feeling really down and feeling like its just never going to happen to me. My cycles have been 27-30 days for ages now, so why is my body playing these tricks on me?! aargghhh

teenycalls · 26/06/2009 11:53

Hi missie I think it is all a test to make sure our nerves are up to the task of becoming a mum

The spotting might not mean anything, or it could mean that you are pg or that AF is imminent will keep my fingers crossed the evil witch stays away!

I have had cramps the past few days but nothing today, thought my nips looked weird in the mirror this morning but could be a figment of my imagination Can't realistically test till Wednesday, not sure how i'll hold out that long...luckily DIY madness at my gaff this weekend so plenty of distractions

teenycalls · 26/06/2009 11:55

PS Sorry for the emoticon overkill! (Write note to self to preview before posting...)

floweringcurrant · 26/06/2009 12:13

Hi everyone,
Congrats to the latest BFPs. Its lovely to see so many. Sorry to those didnt or who are in limbo land.
Am feeling hideously emotional tbh.
Am now 1 day late ( never happens) and have several symptoms. But just did a test and it was BFN. Would it have made a difference if I had done it first thing?
I'm confused because I feel like I might be.
Anyone advice on which is best test to use?

teenycalls · 26/06/2009 12:37

I would say that you definitely need FMU to get an accurate result this early (says the woman that's never had a BFP!). If you can't wait until tomorrow to re-test you could try 'saving it up' for a few hours and not drinking too many fluids - that way it shouldn't be too diluted

floweringcurrant · 26/06/2009 12:47

Hi Teeny, thanks what does FMU stand for?

floweringcurrant · 26/06/2009 13:04

ok I just worked that out.... durrrr.
see what i mean pregnancy porridge brain already!

teenycalls · 26/06/2009 13:49

Lol! Hope so

missiek · 26/06/2009 14:17

No cramps, no more spotting, frantically rushing to loo every 10 mins though. Fingers crossed for you floweringcurrant its sounding good
I'm going to follow your lead teenycalls and go DIY crazy over the weekend, got loads i need to do so it'll take my mind off it. Unless of course the evil witch makes an appearance (mumbling no no no stay away you evil wicked witch). Might test Tues if no sign. (Not holding breath though)BBS extremely sore today and Ive had that shaky feeling when you're really hungry (although eating like a pig). I'm just making symptoms up now arent i?

floweringcurrant · 26/06/2009 14:32

Hope so too, fingers crossed for every single one of us.

teenycalls · 26/06/2009 14:44

Missie you are not doing anything that the rest of us don't do! The 'eating like a pig' thing seems interesting though, I did have an icecream AND chocolate last night

Would really love a glass of pink wine tonight, should I risk it? I guess it can't do any harm considering I have had copious amounts of pate this month and what with all the DIY have inhaled/splattered myself with paint & weedkiller more than once. Was also on a course of steroids at the beginning of the month and only found out yesterday I am supposed to be taking folic acid...if there is a bean it will certainly be resilient. Feeling bad now {Promises to be well behaved prospective Mum from now on}

NancyPreg · 26/06/2009 15:24

teeny grab yourself a glass of vino and enjoy!

Somebody mentioned having some cramps well I've had that too but I think this is normal because the way I see it is the endometrium doesn't know in advance whether an egg will be fertilised or not so it has to ready itself regardless - just in case a fertilised egg floats past! And that's what the cramps are: the lining preparing itself! That's my explanation anyway and nothing whatsoever to do with ttc, symptom spotting or anything else related to pg

flowering definitely test again tomorrow morning and it could make all the difference, fingers very tightly crossed for you...

missiek · 26/06/2009 15:35

Spotting again, I just know its over for me this month. Been checking previous cycles, and i had a 24 day cycle 11 months ago, so it could well be happening again, its just so unfair, I really wanted this to be the month, more than ever want to cry cos i can feel slight twinges now (i think) and i just know its all over. Although have been seriously trying for 4 months, not been using contraception since last November and my age is against me, I'm 36, past it if you believe some stories in the news. Should I contact my GP? I had HSG test 7 years ago (in previous relationship) and it came back all clear, although I was not really desperately trying then. My DH had a child in his previous relationship so also know everything is ok with him. Why isn't this happening for us?

NancyPreg · 26/06/2009 16:19

Oh missiek I hope it's not af I guess all you can do is wait now and see how it develops. And your age is not against you - 36yrs old is still plenty, plenty young enough to have a baby, plenty, plenty young enough. I know that 4mths must seem like an eternity to you but it really isn't and no doctor would agree with you...sooo, you can either go to see your GP and fib, saying that you've been trying for much longer than you have been or else you can set yourself a deadline to be either pg or visiting your GP.

You do have plenty of time to get your family, you do

floweringcurrant · 26/06/2009 17:11

Sorry Missi, hang on in there girl

NancyPreg · 26/06/2009 18:48

Slight distraction here but how about this instead of a regular scan pic:

teenycalls · 26/06/2009 19:49

Missiek am crossing everything that it's not the witch.

I have exactly the same fears as you - have had blood tests that came back normal previously and have only been trying a few months. But it feels like FOREVER and because i've never been pg I can't be 100% certain that everything works. We just have to be positive I guess. At the end of the day we will do whatever it takes to have a baby so it WILL happen [moral support emoticon]

LoobyLou82 · 26/06/2009 20:09

Hi Folks,

Can i join yor ttc bus? Im fertile in a few days and hope to conceive quickly, it will only be first month trying again. I already have DS aged 2 1/4 and a DS aged 10 months. Want to have another baby then thats it all over and done with lol! Im 27 and DH is 32. We must be crazy but they will hopefully be all great friends as they will all be approx 19/20 months difference in age.
Lou x

flowering hope you get your BFP this morning!

missiek hope you're OK - any news?

teeny was the wine good?

welcome to the bus looby and you sound as though you're raring to go!! Have fun this weekend

Any news from the front of the bus?

donttrythisathome · 27/06/2009 08:34

missiek I'm 36, no children and just got a BFP so chances are your ovaries aren't quite shrivelled yet

I went to the doc as soon as I started to TTC, lied brazenly and told them I was trying for over a year and got all the tests (progesterone, LH/FSH etc). Maybe do the same to set your mind at rest?

Good luck everyone and hope to see y'all on the antenatal thread

teenycalls · 27/06/2009 08:57

Welcome to the thread Looby, as you can see we've been on quite a roll this month so good luck for a BFP!

Nancy the wine was lovely but probably wasn't a good idea as I have the plumbers here today! I currently have about 100 decibels (sp?) coming from upstairs! I see we're moving nicely up the list, not long to go thank goodness, I officially hate the 2ww. I convinced myself I had a funny taste in my mouth last night, a bit like I had chewed a teaspoon but it disappeared when I cleaned my teeth

floweringcurrant · 27/06/2009 09:11

Morning girls,

Hope everyone feeling ok.
The witch got me at 5am, 2 days late. The worst night of cramps, wind and weeping I have ever had. Nice... don't you just love being a woman?

NancyPreg · 27/06/2009 09:47

flowering that's too bad for you and particularly so because af was two whole days late - which is just plain mischievous. Would you like to go back on the list as CD1 or would you prefer to hop onto the April bus? Either way, I hope that this brand new cycle will be the one for you

teeny glad the vino was fun but not so good about the plumbers [noisy] Yes, the 2ww would be much more bearable if it was, say, a 1ww!

Good luck to any weekend testers...
