PL - congratulations on your recent purchase

Beanie - Keeping things crossed that the clomid has done the biz for you.

Last few days of waiting here. No HPTs in house so no danger of early testing. No great feelings about this month other than my boobs are even more gigantic but that would more than likely be the ton of weight I put on on hols.

Thanks for updating, Beanie. Somewhere along the way I've gained a few cycles so think is a bit more accurate now. Hard to keep track with MCs and late AFs etc.

PistachioLemon · 18/08/2009 07:08

Beanie thank you! I got your package in the post yesterday. This month is almost certainly a write off as we only managed to have sex once around the 'right' time so the sticks will definitely be coming in useful next month.

Jaamy I'm hoping the gigantic boobies are not due to excess consumption of the black stuff.

Claire how are you? Coming up to bonking madness time for you isn't it... hope you have more luck than me this month!

OP posts:
beanieb · 18/08/2009 11:37

Glad it arrived! shame you can't start straight away but who knows it only takes once so maybe you won't need the moitor at all

Am really lacking in any motivation to get shagging although we HAVE to which just puts more pressure on us.

Didn't manage it last night, CD 9 now and not sure if the Clomid will bring ovulation forward so we really need to get going I think.

I ought some of those instead cups which are like mooncups but disposable, the reason being that I read you can use them to keep the sperm in and close to the cervix, but now I have seen the size of them there's no way I am even attempting to insert one! They are HUGE!

PistachioLemon · 18/08/2009 15:00

Beanie I know what you mean about HAVING to, it's so annoying. I actually turned down a shag the other morning because I'm so sick of sex for sexes sake (is that spelled right? If not, you know what I mean!). Very silly of me and I am kicking myself.

LOL about the instead cups - I heard about those and did think about getting some. Maybe after we've all managed to produce a baby we'll have bucket f*nnies and will be able to use them.

PS If I don't need the monitor next month, I'll be absolutely gobsmacked!

Someone I really really like in work has revealed she's pregnant ... baby due february, conceived just 4 days after her wedding in May. Said stuff like 'well you just don't expect it to happen with me being 38 and him 42' and 'I just had no idea, I thought I was feeling a bit ill and down after the honeymoon'

Am really happy for her and I suppose her age does give hope to someone like me (39) but I can't help thinking the worst, that seeing as I have been trying for 2 years and it's not happening maybe it is just too late?

Sigh.

I wish I had that, I wish I knew what it was like to have something just happen - buggerations!

Comma2 · 18/08/2009 15:38

Hi,

does anyone still remember me? I lost the link to the thread, and am so excited to have found it again! So nice to read from all of you again!

Feel slightly overwhelmed by mass of what's happened here, but do want to say: i can't believe the shit you've been through, Beanieb! (Also can't believe how gorgeous you look on the wedding photos.)

Good luck to you all!!!

beanieb · 18/08/2009 16:30

Hey Comma! How's it going

You know me, I love a good moan. Am sure that things will be ok for me in the end, after all I have proven that I can get pregnant

PistachioLemon · 18/08/2009 21:27

Hi Comma, of course I remember you! You must be quite far along now... so how are you?

Beanie you will definitely get there, and it's not too late. I have great faith in that, definitely. It WILL happen for you. [hugs]

OP posts:
Comma2 · 18/08/2009 23:58

Hi Pistachio, I am completley miserable if you must now, but naturally happy about all the misery too.

Right on Beanie. And the crazy hormones after mc can actually help, so never mind irregularities in the cycle, just go for it (if you kow what I mean).

Comma2 · 19/08/2009 00:39

Know. My brain suffers too.

PistachioLemon · 19/08/2009 07:58

OP posts:
beanieb · 19/08/2009 10:19

morning all and sympathies to you comma. My very pregnant friend has swollen feet and even though she is really happy to be pregnant I know it can get her down.

I have a problem... I can't help giggling when me and my DH has sex. I find the whole 'having sex at the right time' hilarious and last night I just giggled continuously until he stopped what he was doing! I really need to stop it because I don't think he finds it as amusing as I do

PistachioLemon · 19/08/2009 11:19

Oh dear, that made me giggle

Well, at least it's (marginally) better than my going into a strop saying you only want to have sex because I told you to (my trick) - although in both cases the end result is the same - no sex.

Sorry, not very helpful

OP posts:
beanieb · 19/08/2009 11:40

ha ha - it's just ridiculous isn't it. I know, and he knows, that the next few days we need to go for it but because I am a 'work my way up slowly' kind of girl I find all this wham bang thank you mam stuff a bit odd. I remember a few months ago we did literally come home from work one night and he said 'shall we do it now as I have to do such and such later' so we went up stairs and did it half dressed then I made dinner

We are going to see U2 at the weekend and It'll be CD 13 for me so we need to 'do it' but my DH is worried that he'll be a bit pissed so suggested we 'do it' before we go. Trouble is I have a birthday thing to go to in the afternoon so I'll have to leave early, have the old how's your father and then go straight out to the gig! Although we could do it in the morning - that might be worthwhile?

If I don't get pregnant this time round then we're in a tricky situation next month as my DH may be away the weekend I am ovulating (Depends on how delayed my cycle is on the clomid) and we have a friend of his staying the few days before! ERK. I might not take the clomid next month.

All this forward planning is a nightmare.

PistachioLemon · 19/08/2009 12:03

Nightmare indeed. Do it in the morning... more time and less stress - and isn't sperm supposed to be better quality in the morning?!?

I hate, hate, hate the whole, shall we do it now? Well, I suppose we ought to, go on then. Wham bam thank you ma'am.

Very very about the U2 gig.

My mother is coming to stay tomorrow so I'm making a cake this afternoon and cleaning. Well, I aim to clean, I will clean, but I haven't actually started yet.

OP posts:
PistachioLemon · 20/08/2009 17:24

Bollox, I've just realised that there are a load of 'clues' that we're ttc lying round the house....

like...

Clearblue fertility monitor
CBFM sticks from Claire
TCOYF
Thermometer
Baby book a friend leant me when I ill-advisedly confessed we might be thinking about trying
Pregnancy tests
OPK strips
Folic acid

FECK! How did I get all this stuff and where am I going to put it so that my mother doesn't spy it all? She is a notorious snooper so even if it all goes in the knicker drawer I'm sure she'll find it. Bollox.

beanieb · 20/08/2009 19:43

I had this problem PL - well I still do but most people who come here know I am TTC now. I have a box with a lid in the bathroom with preseed, cough medicine (for the cervical mucus!), pee sticks, etc.

Luckily my mum knows and she never comes round.

I did however leave those flipping disposable instead cup things on the stairs for my DH's brother to see

PL...What a nosey mother, and I thought mine was bad!!!!

I have a box with a lock, not for fertility things, but for items I do not want others to read, or see.

I have a nosey friend, so never leave her alone in the house. A nosey mother would be more tricky!!!

You girls have made me laugh with the Beanie & PL show

Beanie If your not successful this month, how about freezing DH's contribution next month won't have to worry about wham bam thank you ma'am then!

Still keeping my eye on you all, lovely to "see" Comma sorry to hear you are feeling miserable

Evening ladies! Well, I found a good hiding place - in a cupboard in DHs office. But I think I may have blown it somehow as my Mum asked very loudly in a coffee shop 'Are you pregnant? You've been going to the toilet a lot.' Aaarrrrrggghhhhhhh!
