Hi dontrythisathome, does the grapefruit juice thing work? I normally have a big glass of cranberry juice at breakfast time but maybe I should switch to grapefruit???

OP posts:
Josie22 · 14/05/2009 13:48

From my experience grapefruit juice helps seemed to increase my ewcm so I would recommend it (it doesn't do any harm either). It does take awhile to get used to the taste though. I know some people also take cough mixture - though make sure its the one that says expectorant.

donttrythisathome · 14/05/2009 15:17

Yep, grapefruit worked for me as I seemed to have more EWCM. But then again I have never knicker checked so compulsively as at the mo, so maybe I always had that much EWCM!

If you're in your twenties you probably don't need anything to increase the EWCM though, unlike my ancient craggy ole bits....

I like it anyway, but think you only need to swig it leading up to ov.

Bettymum · 14/05/2009 15:57

Well, I'm not in my twenties either...
I started drinking the cranberry to protect against the UTIs after having a particularly nasty bout, I haven't had one since so that seems to work. Will give grapefruit a go next month I think, I do actually like it so that's a bonus.

Ov on sat, and pains yesterday... hmmmm i hate this 2ww!!
xxx

ccpink · 14/05/2009 19:43

hi
love to shop
when I got preg the pain was so bad I thought I was going to have to go to hospital. Couldn't stand up. Had no idea it was my little girl burrowing!!!!
Fingers crossed for you.
I'm trying just to lurk to convince myself I'm not obsessed, bd'ing as much as we can manage

Shopna · 14/05/2009 19:49

Hey guys, I just noticed the above post by ilove2shop and would like to know the same thing.

Started ttc#2 two weeks ago (stopped taking pill) so ovulating now/today however I've been having sharp stabbing pains low down on left-hand side for the past 2 days.

DH and I have been BDing every other day since last AF 2 weeks ago.

I'm sure it's wishful thinking but could it be implantation pains? or is there such a thing as ovulation pains

I hardly ever get period pains pus not due for another 13 days.

I can't believe it's only been two weeks and I'm getting sooooo obsessive!

Concieving dd three years ago was so easy even though it took three months I barely remember the wait. Now I just feel anxious and worried everyday!

Someone shake some patience into me!

ccpink · 14/05/2009 19:51

shopna - they sound like ovulation pains as you usually ovulate from one side one month and then the other the next. Get bd'ing some more [ grin]

liahgen · 14/05/2009 20:40

hi all.

Been away a few days, trying to focus on other stuff.

Who asked if day 21 of 30 is too early.? yes DO NOT TEST YET,

How are all the bank holiday testers enjoying the wait. ? I actually thought to myself earlier, it's not really that long away now, bout 10 days, I can do this

Good luck to anyone testing soon, and anyone bd'ing

Mittelschmerz is the name for ov pains, means mid cycle pain. You are not imagining it.

Right, can we take this bus to that hot place someone mentioned earlier.

liahgen · 14/05/2009 20:41

loving chances. There is no such thing as TMI on here,

missiek · 15/05/2009 09:22

hi everyone! How are you today?
Shall we board the ferry and cross over to Spain, little weekend trip, plenty of sun! I'm CD9 today, I'm going to dig the OPK's out later... oh its definitely THE month, DH just getting over man flu (he'll be on top form next week!). Does anyone know what the best cough mixture is to increase EWCM? How much do you take etc? I think I need more of it LOL

stephiepug · 15/05/2009 09:54

good morning ladies, can i jump on?
just got off the january bus today AF came :-(
i know some are here from jan bus also, nice to see you, (waving!)

so Im CD 1 forgot to put it lol sorry

Hobnobfanatic · 15/05/2009 10:37

Hello, I'm hopping on from the Jan bus, as AF came today. This one has hit me big time - as it's now been 6 months of unsuccessful trying. All the charting, peeing on sticks and stuff - in vain.

Gynae appt next month with a consultant, but I'm now terrified I'll never have the second baby that I'm so desperate for.

Very very today

Josie22 · 15/05/2009 10:41

Please let's go to Spain. I need a nice sandy beach and a glass of sangria having just had my boss tell us that we all have to scale back and that include's all items - even stationary! I felt like saying in front of everyone that maybe if you stop putting unnecessary expenses through such as visits to strip clubs and paying his girlfriends rent that it would be a better place to start saving. Grrrr he makes me .

Anyway, sorry to rant about work. Hello to all those who are joining the Feb bus. For some reason I feel like its going to have lots of graduates...

Missiek - not sure on a brand of cough mixture but I know it has to be one that says expectorant as that is what causes the increase in mucus!

Am patiently waiting for af to go so I can get bding. Moving this weekend though so not sure how much chance will get. Am determined to try every other day so that dh doesn't feel like he has to "perform" on specific days! I think he is feeling the pressure poor thing.

HappyBump · 15/05/2009 10:48

hello everyone
I'm just checking in ... I have one week of my tww left ... and I symptom spotting galore ... I have convinced myself that this month isn't the month ... but am secretly hoping it is

(((hobnobfanatic ))) - it's horrible isn't it? However, it's great that you have an appointment with a consultant, hopefully s/he can give you some idea if there is a problem of what to do. At least all the charting and stuff means you will have good information to share with the consultant.

MaisieBoo · 15/05/2009 11:40

Good Luck with the move Josie 22! We are having some work done to our bathroom at the mo - it is long overdue, but the house is cold and messy.

Since mmc in Feb I get low abdo pains all month long, but especially when I ov. AF has visited 3 times since and the pains are less each month so I think all is starting to settle down. So grateful that hormones are nearly normal, was living on strong tea and Mini Eggs - so funny what we crave!

Cosmosis · 15/05/2009 11:47

Josie do you work for an MP

Thinking further (ie still getting pains in my left side) and because I have started temping (mid cycle) I am not acutally sure I have ovulated yet - I am not expecting this cycle to be straight back to normal anyway after last time's 100+ days, so that does make sense.

Chalkpink · 15/05/2009 12:41

MaisieBoo. I'm getting similar pains too. MMC in March, discovered at 12 week scan. I have always had ov pain but since March the pains have been all month long. (Mind you, I have been on antibiotics twice in that period for uti's but that's all cleared up now).
Hoping this settles soon

RUNFORLOVE · 15/05/2009 12:43

hello everyone

think i'm going to have to accept that i need to hop off this bus.

dh has made it clear he does not want to try until at least the end of this year. half the time i feel ok with it and its is only a few months but on the other hand i just want to be pregnant now. i've waited so long to try for this third child and what if it takes awhile, 6 months, a year?

he keeps reminding me that i fell l pregnant the first month of trying with dd, but that was probably very good luck. same happened with my friend on her second pregnancy but took 8 months the third time.

my only hope now is that i fall pregnant through the withdrawl method which is the only contraception we use and many people fall pregnant this way. he would not mind if it happened before but said he would prefer to wait a little longer. we had sex last night using the withdrawl method - so you never know.

he just enjoys the power he has with his sperm right now.

Bettymum · 15/05/2009 15:23

Hello girls,
Sorry to hear you are leaving us Runforlove, good luck with everything.
Hope you're feeling a bit better Hobnobfanatic, have a nice glass of sangria with us
Josie22 our work has been scaling back too, we no longer have bins at our desks - just one big one for the whole floor which gets a bit stinky by the end of the day.
Shopna I had awful side pains a couple of days ago, my temperature hasn't gone up yet so still don't think I've OV'd but really not sure. We haven't BD'd enough this month, work has been busy for me and not busy enough for DH so he's very stressed.
Anyway, hope everyone has a lovely weekend x
