Evening all. Didn't realise that Vitex was Agnus Castus - I'm already on that. As well as the Vitafem from Zita West. What's the news on progesterone cream?

We are all really spread around geographically, aren't we? "Come to London", [said in a hypnotic voice], "come to London and visit Kiwi".

Fruit, don't move on just yet. We'd miss you!

rowingboat · 24/08/2009 13:55

What's that hypnotic voice I hear. [looks around] It is saying 'Crumb Abandon' what does that mean? [Perhaps the hypnotic voice is having trouble reaching Scotland clearly]

I'm in Edinburgh or Eeedinborrow as the Americans say. It's mid festival and I am studiously avoiding the centre of town in case I get hit by a Belgian driving on the wrong side of the road. 'Bonjour' or something in Flemish.

False unicorn root is supposed to be great for fertility. I think you have to go onto an American website to buy it though, unless it has a TCM equivalent in this country.

Thank you all for your positive vibes to the little follicle chaps, they must have listened to you because there are 12 now. So I'm very happy, I consider that to be an excellent number, not too many and not too few for a small party. They must be having fun together asking 'What does crumb abadon mean' and that kind of thing.
Some are still pretty diddy so I'm not sure how many eggs we will get, so the doctor wants me to carry on with the stimulation drugs until Wednesday and thinks they will be able to collect the eggs on Friday. I'm guessing if it happens on Friday then the egg transfer is likely to be on Monday. So busy week.

Fruit you aren't actually allowed to leave, sorry.

thefatladyscreams · 24/08/2009 17:34

Another cry of stay to fruitbowl. You can't leave us!

Here is the link for the tongue analysis. I now have visions of you all sticking your tongues out in mirrors

Tongue Diagnosis

I was told that I still had a typical pregnancy pulse immediately after my m/c - apparently it was "light and fluttery". I guess it's because the body starts working harder as soon as you're pregant.

Love your minor note analogy kiwi. I said something similar last week about it felt like piano tuning.

Yippeeee for those follicles rowing. Really good news and I'm sending "grow big and juicy" vibes to them.

fruitbowl · 25/08/2009 00:08

tha thoo vewy mush foh thi....

heck, this is no good, I can't speak proper and try to analyse my tongue in the mirror at the same time. Ta TFLS!

Thanks for saying you'll miss me but I think you only love me for my chocs

thiph thung ooks gwate...

Gawd - we need some bfps on here!

Sorry if I have forgotten so quickly but didn't we have a couple earlier in the year? Who was it and where are they now?

KiwiKat · 25/08/2009 16:32

Rowing, 12 follicles, that's fantastic news. We'll be thinking you of and sending positive thoughts your way on Friday and Monday. You seem to be a little hard of hearing though, and I'm disappointed that your follies seem to have picked up this family trait. COME TO LONDON is what those persuasive little voices are whispering in your ear.

I'm peering at my tongue, fls, and it's not a pretty sight. Fruit, put it away! Hi Fifi - yes, we really need some bfps to cheer us all up. Haven't seen Spiral for a long time, anyone know how she is?

Further to my earlier questions about progesterone, I rang the clinic to find out what my progesterone level was. They had no record at all!!! So I went in there this morning for a blood test, as I am cd22 today, but I am NOT happy. If it does turn out that my progesterone levels are low, then that's four months wasted when we could have been that much further down the track. Or maybe the levels are fine, but I'm pretty cross that they either didn't test for it, or have lost the information. Humph!

Angifi · 25/08/2009 23:37

Kiwi, that just SUCKS. How can they lose your records? Blimey!
That tongue site is very cool.I checked out my daughter's tongue - she is in perfect health. I haven't had a chance to do mine, but after the chocolate binge last night (er, and SUnday, oh and Friday...)I don't think it'll look so good...It was organic chocolate!

We had a little celebration and a few glasses of bubbly on Sunday arvo for Charlie's first birthday. It was lovely, if not a little bittersweet, time ticking away too fast.pic here

Rowing - I cant wait to hear how everything goes.Everything crossed for you.

What's going on for everyone else?
I have started taking B6 in the hope that it might help with ovulating again.I am terribly impatient.I don't look forward to the return of AF, but feel time slipping away when the BFing is stopping ovulation.I know I don't want wean, so maybe I should just be patient.Something I am not very good at!

KiwiKat · 25/08/2009 23:47

That tongue thing is very interesting, by the way.

fifitot · 26/08/2009 08:16

Angifi - you LO is soooooooooo cute!

thefatladyscreams · 26/08/2009 15:09

kiwi at losing your results. Not helpful. Hope you get the new set back quickly.

Love the picture angifi - he looks a picture of innocence!

One word of warning re the tongue thing. Don't do it soon after eating a yohurt or you'll get a funny coating! Happened at one of my appointments...

I'm using a Clearblue monitor for the first time this cycle. It's had me on high for 11 days in a row with no sign of a peak reading. I've had no temp surge either. In the meanwhile DH and I are getting exhausted!

rowingboat · 26/08/2009 18:12

TFLS oh no! The monitor has to peak soon or you will both end up in hospital. [worried face]

Does it say what it is reading when it gives you the high reading? It can't be the LH surge if it lasts for days.

Angi he is gorgeous.

It looks like Friday is definitely egg collection day. I had a scan again this morning and there are now 16 follicles.
A lot of them are too small to be of any use, but there were a good four or five which are nice and big, so hopefully we will have a few good quality eggs on Friday.
The endometrium was up to 13.5mm, which is the upper end of what they are looking for. The range they look for is 6-14mm.
I'm surprised at how thick it is now. It looks as if the Lady's Mantle, Raspberry leaf and Motherwort teas have done their jobs very well.
I took my last stimming injection today. Yippeeee. So pleased not to have any more stuff to take, now I can stop feeling like a little old lady who hasn't slept for a week.

KiwiKat · 26/08/2009 22:26

Angi, I have to agree, your wee lad is a stunnerbeautiful. And a word of wisdom - pace yourself! I can just imagine the steam that's coming from your place ...

Rowing - 16 follicles! Wowee. I am crossing everything for you. (See how you proved her wrong?)

Hope you're all having a lovely evening.

rowingboat · 26/08/2009 22:33

I totally proved her wrong. I slapped her with the gauntlet of wrongness!

KiwiKat · 26/08/2009 22:39

Hah! Yep.

Angifi · 26/08/2009 23:58

Kiwi, I had a giggle about the"steam coming off" our place!
You are probably right, but how does one pace themselves at this age if they'd like a baby? Sure, I already have one, however, I really want him to have a sibbling close in age (his nearest is 8 years older).Anyway, it's all just talk, as my body likes to do the pacing - when I have breastfed my kids before, AF doesn't come back til some time in the 2nd year after birth. I admit it, I am stubborn, impatient and driven.I should just relax and see what happens - which is what I am doing I suppose, as well as thinking about it alot(that's the part I find hardest to shut down).
Rowing - you sound like you're ready and ripe -I am looking forward to hearing about your good eggs on Friday. Those teas you mentioned - how often were you drinking them?
Thanks everyone for the compliments re:Charlie. I think he's adorable too.

rowingboat · 27/08/2009 14:50

Hi Angi, it's what we are programmed to do, except for some of us we don't realise until we actually have a child and we realise how addictive they are.
I was drinking at least two cups a day of the teas. The Motherwort really zonks you out so not idea for daytime, but fantastic for nights.

spiralqueen · 27/08/2009 23:44

Hi all

Work's been manic since I got back and then have come down with heavy cold so only just crawled to pc.

Rowing good news about the follicles - everything crossed for you

Angi Charlie is just gorgeous. And completely with Rowing on the not realising til you have a child how addictive they are.

Kiwi dreadful about your notes - any sign of replacements?

DH got call saying that he needed to go and see GP about sperm test results so we went along this morning. Most of the figures were normal but he is only producing about 60% of what would normally be expected. GP said on a scale of 1-10 he'd put DH at about a 4. Not great and he put this down to men no longer being hunter gatherers.

Mind you this is the same GP who diagnosed me as having a cold when I actually was suffering from asthma so we're waiting for the fertility clinic appointment for the definitive answer. October seems like ages away though

Clutching at straws for something positive - I've just had a 28 day cycle so I'm definitely much more regular now.

KiwiKat · 28/08/2009 00:28

Spiral! I was wondering where you'd got to! Hope you get rid of your cold soon.

Angifi · 28/08/2009 06:44

Rowing, it is already Friday here(down under) - wondering how the egg retrieval went?
Spiral, sorry to hear about your DH's sperm results. My DH was on a chinese herbal remedy for his sperm (he had a vasectomy reversal) and we really noticed a difference in the sperm after he took it for a month - that month I got pregnant. We used to check out the sperm under the microscope and noticed a lot more of them actively swimming after the TCM.It may be coincidence, but I am happy to give credit to the TCM. IMy DH wasn't keen to tak ethe remedy, but it was in tablet form, no yucky teas, and I figured it couldn't hurt.
Did you do anything differently to make your cycle more regular?

I am on my way to acupuncture this afternoon.Looking forward to it.

rowingboat · 28/08/2009 15:40

Hi everyone,

Spiral sperm counts can vary quite quickly dependent upon all sorts of factors. I have read quite a stories where couples have gone from ICSI, where the sperm is injected into the egg to IVF where the sperm does not need to be injected and is relatively OK.
Most of the men seem to make quite simple lifestyle changes such as cutting out alcohol or coffee.
Great news on the 28 day cycle!

We are just back from the EC and we got 10 eggs (again) so now just waiting to see how many fertilised. They will phone tomorrow with the results then they go back in on Monday.

fifitot · 28/08/2009 16:23

Hello just checking in. Awaiting AF - took a test today but BFN (dunno why just thought I might as well!)so should arrive today or tomorrow.

Well that's officially 12 months of TTCing. Sooooooooooo utterly depressing.

Hope everyone else OK. Going to have a few nice glasses of wine tonight to make up for the crapness of not being pregnant.

I still sometimes find it hard to believe I can't get pg. I was pg within 2 months both times. Granted that was 3/4 years ago but still..........Oh my poor withered eggs and ovaries!

asteroids · 28/08/2009 17:35

Hi everyone,
Well, your posts are giving me renewed hope.
45 (nearly 46), TTC for over 2 years. I have 2 kids from previous relationship (now aged 24 and 22 years). DH has no kids and is desperate to be a daddy. We've had tests which show no abnormalities, just declining fertility due to age.
Guess we'll just have to keep on trying...

KiwiKat · 28/08/2009 22:38

Evening ladies. Good news on getting 10 eggs, Rowing. Sorry about the BFN, Fifi. I hate that feeling of the hope leaking out of me - but it soon comes back. Hope yours comes back soon too.

As Dory says in Finding Nemo, just keep swimming!

rowingboat · 29/08/2009 20:28

Hi Asteroids welcome to the thread. You will love it here, very friendly and supportive.

Fifi - boo! It is pain, but you will be fine in a couple of days. 12 months isn't that long really.

My news is we had a call from the hossy at lunchtime and 8 of the 10 have fertilised and we go back for egg transfer on Monday, just before lunch. Might even have a couple for freezing. I have my fingers crossed for the little chaps.
We have given them eight names, including; Toto, Foo-foo and Puppa. Can't quite connect with them yet, so will be focussing on that tomorrow.
This feels as if it is happening to someone else, very peculiar.

asteroids · 29/08/2009 23:13

Thanks rowingboat. Think we just need that glimmer of hope. Mind you, my kids would totally freak at the idea of a new brother or sister now!
