Hi Schlumpf (love the name BTW)

Im a relative newbie too but have gleaned enough to know that CD is cycle day (with CD1 being the first day of your period)

UCL is, as you surmised, usual cycle length.

ccpink · 07/04/2009 16:49

Hi all
Welcome Schlumpf, missiek and marlysinger! Marla - my dd is 18 months too and we know feel the time may be right...if we're lucky!I'm not sure who else said they were confused by the opk's but I am too. In the excitement of having them [ sad I know] I tried one today expecting nothing but there was a definite line and I'm only cd7? It was alittle bit fainter than the test but not a lot? Anyone knowledgable?!?
Don'ttrythis - did someone medical tell you about the cm? I had always assumed like Blocka that the wetter the better - sorry sounds gross!!
Wondering if I should tempt dh tonight just in case my stick was right?!?

ccpink · 07/04/2009 16:51

ps my opk's just say not the first wee of the day as too concentrated and try not to drink too much a couple of hours before! Easy then eh!!!

Bettymum · 07/04/2009 16:57

Hi ccpink and also new girls on the bus. I can't help with opk's I'm afraid, my doc advised me when we were trying for DD two years ago that temping was the best way to check - you can't see when you're about to ovulate, but you can see when you have IYSWIM. Or if actually you haven't for that cycle. The downside of course is you have to chart for a while to be able to predict your fertile time in the next cycle. When I'm feeling a bit sad I look at the graph from April 2007 when I got PG with DD and look at the lovely temperatures staying high.

ccpink · 07/04/2009 17:09

Hi Betty I did that for my first as I wasn't having periods etc. etc. But because since coming off the pill I've been regular - until last month I thought I could try a less labour intensive approach for now...I have to admit I did feel very knowledgeable about my body when I was temping though. Who knows. I just want to be pregnant - why does it have to be so hard

Hi guys, thanks for this. Will keep BDing like a demon for the time being.

Not really fully 'in tune' with my CM yet, as this is all stil a fairly new and bizarre world to me, so further investigations required ... cheers for now

ccpink · 07/04/2009 19:29

Marla - you've got to take the temp as soon as you wake - it also has to be the same time every day then you plot it on a graph. It is effective I just found it hard work. I'd suggest you get a book telling you about it - I had a fab one but can't remember name now and leant it to a friend who's struggling.I guess that my line means I don't have to get going yet. Think we'll have a busy Easter weekend!

laurielou · 07/04/2009 20:37

Evening ladies! Work has been a nightmare today, but at least it stopped me obsessively symptom spotting for at least 3 seconds. Result!

I'm adding weight gain to the symptoms. OK, clutching at straws again, can't possibly be anything to do with a weekend of over indulgence, can it?

Still just feel different this month.........

Welcome aboard schlumpf, missiek and marlysinger

bringonthetrumpets · 07/04/2009 20:50

fingers crossed for you laurielou. really hope we can both come back to mn with good news on monday!

donttrythisathome · 08/04/2009 08:22

±ive OPK today and EWCM so must get BDing like mad thing.

Was a book that told me most fertile time is the last day of EWCM. Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler, which is most excellent.

Bettymum · 08/04/2009 10:32

Hi Marla if you have a chance, take a look at the fertility friend website, it tells you all about temping and you can use their software to plot it all on. Also as donttrythisathome says that book by Toni Weschler is good, I was recommended it by a couple of people on here, I could post it to you for a look if you like?

ccpink · 08/04/2009 11:14

hey girls that's the book I had it's fantastic! Busy day feeling really down - desperate for some sign of ovulation soon...
Good luck Don'ttrythis!!!

Bettymum · 08/04/2009 11:17

A for you ccpink.

EffieGadsby · 08/04/2009 12:20

I'm going to hop on too, if that's okay. DP and I started TTC this cycle (which will probably be ending later today or tomorrow, if my cycle hasn't gone haywire again). I feel it's going to be a long process for me, as my menstrual cycle is completely unpredictable; my most recent big gap was 90 days at the beginning of the year. Test results indicate that I don't have PCOS, which seems really bizarre given my symptoms, and my thyroid function is normal, so I haven't a clue what's going on.

I've been charting my temperature since January, and I'm not convinced I'm ovulating at all. So, while the doctor considers what else I can be tested for, we'll keep at it and hope for the best. My vitals are:

TTC#1 cycle 1 UCL 33-37 CD35

Should I re-post the whole list with me on the bottom?

TickysMum · 08/04/2009 14:05

Hi Effie - sounds like we're in a similar boat. My cycle is completely random, and has been for years - and, like you, tests show I don't have PCOS or any other obvious issue. Have you thought about possible non-medical reasons (e.g lifestyle issues like weight?).

I hope it'll make you more positive to know I have had a DS (following an ovarian drilling operation), and I am now trying a few drug-assisted cycles (am using Puregon this cycle) for TTC 2. My advice is get to see a doc/consultant asap as getting to the stage when they'll agree to giving you assistance (either by operations or drugs or IVF) can take a long time....

NakedInnocence · 08/04/2009 20:24

I haven't posted since the very beginning of this cycle - only posting now to say DH and I have decided to hang fire for a couple of months (for good reasons I won't bore you with ).

We're planning on taking 2 months off and then trying again at the beginning of June - DH is a little sulky about having to cover himself up when we get down to it but am keeping him sweet by promising lots of unprotected ttcing when the time comes .

Here's hoping that all of you have graduated by the time I come back!

Good luck

bringonthetrumpets · 08/04/2009 20:42

awh, sorry to hear nakedinnocence (hehe, like your name btw) hopefully the break will reward you with a BFP in June !!

xx

NakedInnocence · 08/04/2009 23:40

Thanks bringonthetrumpets, but it's really for good reasons so worth waiting a couple of months.

I should be good and use the break to get super healthy and lose a bit of my extra winter padding, unlikely to happen though . .......

Effie - why isn't the doc referring you to a specialist? Why do women have to push for this?!

Anyway, does anyone know how to increase EWCM? I've been trying the grapefruit juice and it seems to have made it thinner, but my stretch seems to have gone. Any ideas?

Also, I test my OPK in the morning, as I can't imagine any other time of the day when I wouldn't have wee'ed for 4 hours! The instructions say you can test any time of the day. Do you think that's ok or should I do it another time. It's a clearblue test.

Hi everyone, just changed buses from December, please could somebdy add me, i'm

Thanks everyone!

ccpink · 09/04/2009 09:04

Morning all,
welcome alfiesmm, sorry you've had to switch bus but we're very friendly on this route!

don't try - not sure how to increase - I hate grapefruit. I do it in the morning too but just not my first wee! Off to see a newborn today - will make me feel even more desperate I'm sure
tickie'smum and effy - i was totally all over the place and I managed to have dd! Did lots of day 21 tests with docs and then got referred. Got clomid and had one period then got preggers! Doc's like you to try for a year naturally then they'll usually refer you. who knows why?!?

Bettymum thanks for your grin. God dh to practise last night so feeling a bit happier. Even though it was only cd8 I always still wonder if it could work!

Have a good day girlies!
