I'm okay thanks apart from having four mouth ulcers.....wretched things...can't be bothered to talk at the moment which is quite unlike me!!!

I HATE them but get them quite a lot.
I also had a nose bleed today.......only ever had three of them in my life....two when I was pregnant which I think is quite common.

So...yes....falling apart but okay!!!

Is your 2WW really a 2WW?
Mine is a 9 or 10 day wait which I suppose doesn't prolong the agony!!
Are you a patient waiter or a hover-in-the-bathroom with a HPT kind of waiter???!!!!!

Madigan · 09/10/2006 08:32

well, i guess I am an impatient waiter, because I tested early today (10 dpo) and got a BFN. so am feeling v down....... I should really have waited until Friday to test - cos it is usually 14/15 days for me.
are you thinking that the nose bleed may be a good sign? sorry to hear about your ulcers though.... DH gets those when he is overtired/run down - is it the same for you or do they appear randomly?
please tell me there is still hope for me this cycle??? I am totally prepared for BFNs, but have been hoping for a little miracle.

mymama · 09/10/2006 10:26

Madigan I have been following this thread for quite a while but don't generally post as I have no experience with fertility assistance. But wanted to say that there is hope for you this cycle. As you said you have tested on day 10 and you are usually day 14/15 - so too early for you yet. I have fingers and toes crossed for you and am sending all of my best wishes for a BFP on Friday.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 09/10/2006 10:43

Madigan, I was told to test 16 days post ov so 10 days far too early.

Madigan · 09/10/2006 11:03

thank you mymama and skbf (good to hear from you again - how are you?).
feeling pretty down today .... ... one of those days when I think it will never happen for me. am going to start a new thread to see if anyone else has been ttc as long as me and how they are coping .....

ShouldKnowByFriday · 09/10/2006 19:56

Madigan, how am I? Well I got pregnant on Menopur injections on my August cycle with ............. triplets. Had scan last week and there are 3 sacs, one heartbeat so far and am going for next scan on Thursday to see if the other two have developed a heartbeat. My obstetrician says its unlikely given my age and that maybe one will develop and the other not. He has encouraged me to have twins if thats what I am pregnant with and said he will take good care of me and would prescribe the cyclogest (progesterone pessaries) until 34 weeks gestation. I have left the clomid thread and started chatting with Evansg on the 'FAO Should Know By Friday' thread as we both started our injectibles in August which I have to say I was dreading but they were very easy.

I can't remember your age but I have just turned 42 so there is hope for all of us. And if Clomid doesn't work (it tricks the body into thinkign that enough oestrogen isn't being produced so the pituitary glad produces more thus maturing the eggs) then an FSH preparation is the next step and it works directly on the ovaries maturing the eggs and producing more. Don't give up hope. Fingers crossed for you.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 09/10/2006 19:58

PS I have been trying since April 2004 and taking the clomid since Feb this year. So that is 2.5 years. How long have you been trying?

coggy · 09/10/2006 20:11

SKBF.....triplets?!!!
I do hope your scan on Thursday goes well.
X

Madigan......ulcers are random and frequent
.....nosebleed....I would be quite excited if I was in my 2WW probably but as I am only CD8 I don't really think it can possiblybe relevant!!! (sadly!)

And yes................there is hope for you.....LOTS of it still....I shall go now and look for your other thread...see if I have any competition on my nearly seven years (with a slight detour!!!)

Madigan · 10/10/2006 09:13

SKBF - TRIPLETS!!!
am so happy for you!!!! congratulations . Good luck for scan and let us know how you get on!

In answer to your question, have been ttc for nearly 3 years .... fed up with it now..... but please God I will soon have a success story like you (I would LOVE to have twins or triplets)XXXX

BudaBeast · 11/10/2006 13:20

Anyone any experience of a "poor response" to stimulation??

Am on second attempt at IVF. This is second cycle of stimulating - first cycle abandonded as only one follicle. Upped dosage and still only one follicle. Am going ahead with retrieval on Monday though but I know the changes are so small as to be almost neglible really.

Any ideas if acupuncture would help make pregnancy more likely if I had a session or two now??

coggy · 11/10/2006 17:48

BB........lots of people swear that accupunture has helped them.....I can't answer your questions but hopefully someone else will be able to help you.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 12/10/2006 18:58

Had scan today and three heartbeats. So will see obstetrician next week and then the Proff Nicolides at the FMC for cvs and decide which and how many to reduce to based on results. Might go ahead with twins, not sure, depends on advice. I knew I was going to have 3 heartbeats as a) feel so nauseous, out of breath and tired and b) nothing is ever simple. Will keep you posted. Good luck Madigan, Coggy and everyone else.

coggy · 12/10/2006 21:17

SKBF............you're so right about the 'nothing being simple'.....how true!!

I wish you all the best and hope that you feel totally happy with the advice given next week.

Keep us informed.
X

Madigan · 13/10/2006 19:56

SKBF - thinking of you, and hope that it will all work out in the best way for you. Let us know how you get on next week.

Another BFN for me this 3rd (and final) IUI cycle. Onto IVF next cycle. As you say, nothing is ever straightforward ....

bubbly1973 · 13/10/2006 20:01

oh madigan, im so very sorry

OP posts:
coggy · 14/10/2006 00:56

So sorry to hear that Madigan.

ShouldKnowByFriday · 14/10/2006 22:10

Madigan, that is such a shame. Am I right in thinking you are still on the clomid? What about starting injectibles which are fsh preparations which work directly on the ovaries? That is what I did after 4 clomid cycles (1st one was a miscarriage) and then took Menopur for first time with an fsh reading of 10.2 on day 3 and well, you know what has happened to me. I am 42 and I think you are younger. Much less invasive than IVF and cheaper too. Would you consider it?

Madigan · 02/12/2006 14:28

Hi Bubbly, SKBF, Bella -

just to let you know that I am now doing my IVF cycle, and it is going well so far. So please keep your fingers crossed for me. Lots of love to you all. How are you all doing??

Madigan · 02/12/2006 14:29

and hello Coggy too!! XX

ShouldKnowByFriday · 02/12/2006 20:00

Hello Madigan, have wondered how you were. The clinic I attended and an obstetrician friend said that there have been studie which show that if IVF is combined with acupuncuture, whether it is a placebo or not, the success rates are higher. Really hope it works for you. Are you watchng the Proff Winston series?

I am now 14 weeks preg with twins. Feeling heavy and tired and am looking forward to feeling normal again after the birth. Am over the severe nausea so the worst over. Next thing to be worse is the weight gain!

Really wish you all the luck and hope you get preg soon.

Madigan · 05/12/2006 10:54

Congratulations SKBF - that is wonderful news!!! Twins!! and I am glad you are now feeling better, and hopefully you can enjoy the pregnancy.

Yes I am doing acupuncture (and reflexology) which I think is fabulous. I am having embryo transfer today - so keep your fingers crossed for me. Will then do my pregnancy test next Friday !!

snowydays · 05/12/2006 11:44

I hope you don't mind lurkers too much ... I'm starting clomid then onto IVF in a few months so I find it helpful to hear about others going through it. I just wanted to wish Madigan all the best this week.

bubbly1973 · 07/12/2006 21:13

madigan, its really good to hear from you, and i have everything crossed for next friday...how is the 2ww going so far?

did you find ivf harder than iui? this cycle must be so different and on a completly different level to iui as the chances of getting pregnant are higher so you must be feeling a whole lot of new emotions, wouldnt it be lovely if your xmas wish came true, i truly hope it does so am hoping and praying that at last you get that positive

snowydays, welcome to the board and good luck with the ivf

Madigan · 08/12/2006 15:37

Hi Bubbly and welcome Snowydays

Bubbly - I do feel different this time. a lot more positive - because of the much better chances of success. Of course I have moments when I think it hasn't worked, but on the whole I am fairly optimistic. the 2ww is of course a nightmare - but am getting through it .... have been taking life quite easy, so hopefully that will help. Keep praying for me please!!! Hope all is well with you XX

Snowydays - good luck with your clomid cycles. XX

Madigan · 16/12/2006 13:59
