I am 31, i am a smoker, non vegetarian, weigh nearly 8stone
dh is 32, non smoker, non vegetarian, his sperms are not extremly high in numbers but sufficient enough

hi everyone, been posting on the clomid thread recently.

I'm doing ok bubbly, will feel happier when I know what has happened to my cycle this month and why. Looks like may have to start seriously considering ivf. For the first time in 2 years of ttc I am actually starting to think it may not happen for me.

Madigan, good luck with your 2nd iui. chances of it working on 2nd attempt are greater than the 1st apparently so keep positive

Hi skbf, hope your feeling ok today. I did post a message for you on clomid thread but I was feeling rather emotional so it sounded a bit deep.

It amazes me how open I have been on this site considering I don't discuss ttc or my feelings with anyone not even my dh...bit scary!

dizzy36 · 08/04/2006 12:17

just realised made it sound like my dh is scary!

meant scary to think how much prepared to type on a computer that can't say in words to people close to you

Hello -
got results of test - and natural killer cells level was fine, so that's not a problem.
Scan today and then insem prob on Wednesday. I have a killer week at work this week, am sure the stress won't help!
not getting hopes up though - please make me stick to that during the 2ww too .......

Bella23 · 10/04/2006 11:24

Mdigan - will be keeping my fingers crossed for you this time. Bubble is testomy that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
mmmm...as for the 2 week wait, its a killer isn't it! Just do whatever you have to - perhaps lots of films etc for distraction etc
The best of luck xx
All ok here, getting bigger by the day so all happy.

Madigan · 13/04/2006 12:01

Hi bubbly
it went fine thanks. DH's sperm count up again, which is great news, and 2 eggs .... so all looked good from that point of view.
the only thing was that the actual insem took place later in my cycle than last time. on day 15 rather than day 13. seeing as my cycles are about 26 days, that does seem rather late?? but they scanned etc, and I did the HCG injection - so hopefully the timing was right. but I am never convinced that everyone reacts the same to the HCG injection - what if I ovulated after 18 hours rather than 36??am I being paranoid?

so far 2ww not too bad, as I have been really busy, but the second week will be worse, I am sure.
not getting hopes up this time though!!!
how are you?

bubbly1973 · 18/04/2006 11:42

madigan, my inseminations never took place before 14 days, infact im sure on my ds i had insemination on day 16 and on this pregnancy i think it was either 15 or 16

another week to go so not long now, hang in there
xx

ShouldKnowByFriday · 18/04/2006 12:10

Fingers crossed madigan. I think that the HCG injection brings on ov within 36 hrs. Please don't worry. Let us know ASAP!

Madigan · 19/04/2006 10:15

thanks guys
1 week over, only 1 week to go
not thinking about it tooo much, unbelievably!

Bella23 · 19/04/2006 10:24

Still lurking, willing you on xx

Madigan · 19/04/2006 13:12

thanks Bella - you are v kind. hope you are doing well??

Madigan · 19/04/2006 13:59

i have been looking on fertility friends website, where they suggest that you should completely rest for 3 days after insem, and do v little during the 2ww.
Does this really make a difference? If so, I am buggered because I have been so busy this past week with one thing and another.

bubbly1973 · 19/04/2006 15:44

no madigan i wouldnt think it would make a great deal of difference, the 1st time i got pg i rested for the day of insemination, came downstairs about tea time, didnt drive on way home from insemination.

2nd time i got pregnant, i rested till tea time, DROVE home straight after insemination, and was picking my son up and playing with him the next day

so being busy shouldnt have done you no harm, but i would try not to lift really really heavy objects not that theres proof that that could affect the chances of conceiving.

dont worry, i think it is good to be busy, as it takes your mind off the whole 2ww thing

Madigan · 19/04/2006 16:16

thanks Bubbly. Have not really given it much thought before. if does not work this time, then I may take 3 or 4 days off after insem the next time and really relax (... although everyone keeps telling me to relax at the moment, and it is driving me completely nuts).

did you feel any different on your 2nd cycle, when you got a bfp?? I don't feel any different at all.

this time I am also taking cyclogest, which I didn't last time.

also - did you give up alcohol and caffeine during the 2ww? I have given up alcohol both times, but this is the 1st time I have given up caffeine (and am sleeping so much better as a result - don't think I will go back to caffeine now actually),

Should I also have given up alcohol/caffeine during the 2 wks before insem???

questions, questions ....

bubbly1973 · 19/04/2006 16:35

i didnt feel any different, even on the 3rd insemination when i actually got pg i swore it hadnt worked.

i gave up caffeine on day of insemination and gave up smoking, i gave up alchohol too, but i didnt give up on caffiene or the fags when i got pg with my ds.

i did give up oncei knew i was pg but not before on him sometimes i think its luck if you are lucky enough to get pg, but dont beat yourself up on things you havent done or should do hun

Madigan · 21/04/2006 15:33

thanks dizzy! How are you?

Madigan · 21/04/2006 15:33

thanks dizzy! How are you?

Madigan · 24/04/2006 08:25

Bubbly
do you know if the cyclogest affects the length of your cycle. also - I had insem on day 15, any cycle is usually 26/27 days. On day 27 today, so should I test today, or should I wait until 14 days after insem (i.e. wednesday???),
thanks

Madigan · 24/04/2006 13:08

Bubbly? are you there?

ShouldKnowByFriday · 24/04/2006 14:12

Good luck madigan!!!!

Madigan · 24/04/2006 15:56

thanks skbf - how are you getting on?

I have been pretty good on this 2ww ... but these last couple of days are really difficult, although I do not want to test because I know that a BFN will really depress me. I would prefer to wait until I know that AF is late (fingers crossed). Just don't know when AF is due now. Should be today on a normal cycle (and she is not here!), but that is only 12 days post insem.
so don't know really!!!

what is your news?

ShouldKnowByFriday · 24/04/2006 20:26

Hi Madigan. Am now on day 22. I don't know if I ovulated this month as no LH surge on test sticks but did have ewcm the evening of no LH surge so confused. DP was skiing for a week and had the ew on the Thursday so quickly BD'ed on the Sunday when he was back just in case. Was supposed to have a blood test for HCG levels 2 weeks ago but just couldn't face yest another trip to the clinic and yet another needle. Had a massive bruise and alot of pain from the last one, I shall avoid THAT nurse at all costs! Have had cramps for the last 10 days so have been waiting for AF. Read on one internet site that if HCG levels reduce slowly it delays the next ovulation. Will get results tomorrow as I went late in the afternoon. Just want a definite all clear for taking clomid the next cycle.

When are you overdue?
