MrsDis I recognise him but can't for the life of me think of his name.

Someone spill!

look

So im looking for my xmas/bday present for this year, i reckon i am 24 now, if i wore this for the next ten years or so, they are bargainous, yes? I realllllly want some. Are they classics do you think? Look ok when im 40, etc? Would wear them to parties, out with DH etc.

I just want to see what others think, please don't be mean to me about the price, i know i am lucky to be considering them.

mrsdisorganised · 21/02/2009 13:38

Well I am very much a 'shoe' girl and would be very if you had those....yes classic and yes you would wear them for years, I would, although they are high and I'd have to practise ! Ooooohhh lucky girl! Glad your dh is home tomorrow.

ScorpiowithabigS · 21/02/2009 13:42

Im not a very shoe girl, more a bag one, but am fed up of not having any going out shoes, Uggs dont go with everythign you know, lol. Would have them for joint bday & xmas pressie you see. Have to talk dh into it will have to promise him something too lol

mrsdisorganised · 21/02/2009 13:44

Well could be a win win situation then !!
I tend to live in my Cats/walking boots as the highlands wouldn't do nice shoes any justice!

ScorpiowithabigS · 21/02/2009 13:47

no shoes like those would be silly for the highlands, lol

I think dh may take some persuading.....

sandy4 · 21/02/2009 14:50

Hi!

just popping in while supposed to be 'studying' hope everyone is OK. I am on the 2WW.

Scorpio - I'm shoe mad & have a similar pair, but be warned - the red sole wears off very quickly & looks a bit tatty. they are comfy though.

ScorpiowithabigS · 21/02/2009 14:51

see i thought that, have seen celebs in well worn pairs, but they are what they are stil lthoguh iyswim.

Ready4anothercoffee · 21/02/2009 18:22

oooh, they are nice. doubt I'd be able to walk in them though

sorry to hear of all thosses af's although tbh I'm a bit , as at least you have a chance. the other 2 were concieved within a month of stopping bf, so sadly it's very effective as a form of c/cption for me.

ok, I'm off to tackle bedtime, wish me luck

twiglettini · 21/02/2009 20:27

Oh, Rainbow, SO sorry about AF, I think it is especially hard following a mc as getting preg is the only thing that makes the mc OK, iyswim. Although that is also true of ttc for a long time anyway. Also you do hear that women can be ultra fertile following a mc, so there's extra hope there - Also agree that wallowing, cake and big hugs should be on order. Is your DH sympathetic to the misery of AF arriving, or do you have to be cool and perky and pretend you don't mind? Big (((hugs))) to you x

Good luck on 2ww,Sandy, when is AF due?

Scorpio am v impressed, they look amazing, but am not a shoe or handbag woman, so probably can't really appreciate them , am astonished that anyone can walk in things that high!

Hi Ready, hope the bedtime routine went OK, I've just put mine to bed which was utterly delightful in parts (reading 5 yo DS Winnie the Pooh original chapter book and him being very engaged), utterly pants in parts (him screaming at me because the children's mild mint toothpaste was too spicy on his lips - aaaargh, just took ages as he jerked away from me each time I tried to brush his teeth. Ooh, it made me so grumpy and shouty). Anyway, all fast asleep now and at least bedtime ended happily with the lovely stories, so on balance, don't feel like too bad a mummy

Diege think we are probably all very at the thought of your spa weekend - you deserve it and hope you are really enjoying yourself as I type!

MrsD So well done on giving up wheat/dairy, don't think I could ever do it, but would be interested to know how much of a difference it makes to you - good luck. Also, sorry, can't remember what your original dates are - when is AF due?

Kat and Babyblue still thinking of you both and hope your respective situations resolve themselves happily and positively very soon x

No news from me, no AF (which admittedly is a bit odd as I'm normally V V regular, every 28 days, including after my previous two 11 week mc, AF arrived 4 weeks to the day after I started bleeding/had erpc) Have done a secret test this morning (was not meant to as am on another thread where we are ignoring our cycles, so please keep it to yourselves ), anyway it was fmu and it was definitely neg, no faint lines, whichever way I looked at it (and I was really really trying to see a line there), so anyway, neg test and no AF 2 days late = a bit odd for me!, will keep you posted...

Hello to everyone else, hope you all had sunny saturdays.

rainbowdays · 21/02/2009 22:17

ARRGGGGGGGGGGG Don't know what to think. Sorry I am having another self-indulgent moment, here. I have been told today that one of my SIL's is pg (12/14 weeks) therefore due in August (when my first early m/c would have been due) Arggggg. I would not mind so much but this is the SIL that only a few weeks ago (and a few months before that)walked out on my brother and their three year old son. She has problems and now is pregnant. I am not sure I dare ask the question of if the baby is my brothers or someone-elses! I hope things go ok for my brother and sil , but it is going to be tough for them.

Sorry about that rant, I am just hormonal still and emotional about getting af today too.

Twigs - do you have any idea of when you ov'd and if it was later than usual? It is horrible being in limbo-land and knot knowing.

Ready4 - I know I am lucky being able to ttc when still bf, I hope that instead of af arriving for you first that you go straight to pg instead!!!!

ok I really should go to bed now, catch you all tomorrow, when I hope that I will be in a better frame of mind!

Katonahottinroof · 21/02/2009 23:34

Oh rainbow! Poor you! Rant away, I totally get where you're coming from... when you're TTC esp following a mc it seems extra harsh when people who aren't trying or aren't in a good position get preggers.

Still it'll be your turn soon!!!

We are all in the lovely position of having 3/4 DC's already and I don't know about you but it makes things a bit easier and more relaxed. I'd LOVE another one but if it never happened I wouldn't be devastated I don't think...

I have news... I think I AM HAVING AF!!!!!

So sad that I'm excited about that but it's the heaviest bleed I've had for 5 weeks and I'm so hoping this will flush things out a bit...

I have been so resigned to the fact it's gonna take ages I got a bit excited that this might be the big flush out that does it!!!

I'll probably stop again tomorrow now I've said that!

Have a dancing competition tomorrow and I'm taking both girls - eek. Jessi has been dancing forever but Lily is only 5 and although she wants to do it sooo much she's a bit erratic on the dance floor. I let her do a comp before xmas and she froze on the dance floor and looked terrified...so I haven't let her do one since then.

Anyway, I'll try to persuade her just to watch but she's a determined little thing!

xxx

twiglettini · 22/02/2009 09:28

Oh, Rainbow, just what you don't need (((strokes))) Come and let us know how cross and jealous and RUDDY UNFAIR it all is, anytime you feel like it.

Kat, hooray for a big bleed - weird what makes us happy, but I know exactly what you mean. Hopefully it is and you can get on with a normal cycle ttc xx

Morning all, BFN this morning, no AF. Can't believe it is preg as soooo unlikely this month, ov on day 14, no symptoms and previously have always had pos test before AF due, so where is AF??

Off out to play in this glorious sunshine in a min - have good Sundays all of you x

twiglettini · 22/02/2009 09:40

ps. anyone got any encouraging stories of having very regular cycles, previous pregnancies having early pos tests, then late AF, lots of neg tests, then eventually, really late a BFP?? Am to admit I've tried an internet cheapie, then a superdrug proper one this morning with fmu and both big fat nothings. (Sorry, v obsesssed...need...to...get...a...life)

twiglettini · 22/02/2009 09:41

p.p.s Completely agree Kat, we are all SO lucky to have the darling children that we already have - so so fortunate.

(phew, there, found my life )

ScorpiowithabigS · 22/02/2009 09:48

Twig - GP test gave me neg t 10 weeks with ds1, only ever got very faint on tesco tests, i had a scan in the end and there was 10 week ds1, lol.

twiglettini · 22/02/2009 09:53

Hi Scorpio, thanks for that positive (!) story, now I'm worried I will get my hopes up and then they'll be dashed again! That sounds so weird for you. Did you know you were pregnant/feel pregnant or were you worried about where your period was? Did the GP have any explanation for why the HCG was not strong enough to show up?

Sorry lots of questions, how are you feeling today?

ScorpiowithabigS · 22/02/2009 09:57

Well i knew instantly (i was 16 btw) the tesco tests showed up faint, i was adamant i was, the doctor insisted on a urine sample test which i sent in, i rang up for the test result and they said it was negative so i tested again and it was still faint but there, so i booked in through a MW (can just go straight to them here)and got a scan, and there was a nearly 10 week fetus as i knew there should be, lol. I dont ever really know what happened re the faint tests. DS1 was/is fine! ds2, Mimi BFP were very strong - mc one not so

Yep im fine today thankyou, DH is home later and im a deffo oving now/soon.

twiglettini · 22/02/2009 10:04

Hooray for ovulating soon - it's amazing how quickly it comes around once af arrives (or you mc) It really is the best thing to focus on after a mc - hoping for good luck for you this month.

Lovely to hear your DS1 story, can't believe how young you were, I was twice that age when I had my first [very old and wrinkly emoticon] Don't know whether to get my hopes up or not. Think I shouldn't as only bd once (he was ill ) and it was after ov, so it would be a bit unbelievable if I was [especially at my age emoticon!]

ScorpiowithabigS · 22/02/2009 10:13

i was ill when i conceived mc....we had sex about twice, lol

i was 16 with ds1, 17 when i had him; 19 with ds2 and 22/23 with mimi.

twiglettini · 22/02/2009 10:24

just off for a family cycle, see you later x

Ready4anothercoffee · 22/02/2009 13:17

twig, how do you manage that? sorry, I can't remember the ages of your dcs. logistically it's a nightmare for me, as ds isn't big enough to go under his own steam, so I ned dh with me to take the towbar... fingers crossed for you anyway.

has anyone else found concieving easier when hey are not trying? ds was concieved 2 mths after we'd stoppped trying, I'd just started my dream job, but hadn't soted out the pill, I'd thught no rush, as dh was on nights

twiglettini · 22/02/2009 15:48

Hi Ready, just home, 5 hours was slightly longer than we planned, but it was good fun (mainly) with minimal whingeing .

DD just 8 cycles herself
DS just 5 cycled himself for the first time. It was hard work and he only has little legs and a little bike, so he did very well [v proud mummy emoticon]
DD 2 sat on the bike seat behind DH

Previously DS has been on the half a bike behind DH or me, but it is certainly easier (for me) if he is behind DH . If we'd known how long it was going to be today, we might have suggested the half a bike instead, buy hey ho, he managed it.

How old are your DC?

The conception of our children has always been meticulously planned (too much of a control freak, me ), well, 'planned' as much as you can for these things. Always conceived immediately, but have now had 3 mc in amongst the gorgeous children.

Katonahottinroof · 22/02/2009 15:58

Heya.. I'm really suffering today, had to come home from the dancing comp as having horrendous cramps only relieved by 2 ibuprofen and 2 paracetamol (even then only relief for an hour or so
Bleeding is not very heavy at all though - bright red but light. Think a hospital trip is going to be necessary I'm still on open access so I'll ring them in a bit.
I'll let you know.

xx
