Please don't be offended if you're not named, you're still welcome, I just have a rubbish memory. I can see a couple of you on November thread but there's a whole load of people not there. Just wondering if you wanted a little thread to keep in touch?

Headfairy - just replied to you on grapefruit thread. So sorry about your sad news. Was hoping a new thread might provide you with support from old friends.

And Sunnydale, I know you're wary of new threads, so though you might also like the company of old friends.

Wishing and Bubble having your weird long cycles and missing whole month's threads, thought this might be one for you too.

So what do you say? I'll start a list just in case:

Issy, ttc#1, cycle 14, ucl 28ish, cd 23/10dpo, mc Mar08, cp Sep08, IVF in April.

Brilliant news Blue . Chances of mc after seeing heartbeat are really low, so (try to) relax and enjoy it. Oh and I'll take the 5th amendment on that one .

Bubble - difficult to say if you haven't had a temp shift. Just hope AF arrives on time for you and you can get on with ttc again (unless you get a BFP of course).

Hope everyone else is well and has enjoyed the bank holiday (raining here today too).

OP posts:
Sunnydale · 04/05/2009 22:08

Blue, try not to worry. Easier said than done, I know. I dream of getting to your stage (ie being pg) but know that when (if?) I get there, I'll be every bit as worried as you. Try to enjoy it. Just think of how hardy those beans can be. Yours is lovely and safe in its home.
No hope for me this month - only BD'd once as ov'd when DH was away for the weekend. I know once is all it takes, but even so, given we did it loads n loads the last 2 months with no luck, I'm not expecting anything. Hence last night's glass of wine! Well, it was a bank holiday. Nothing stronger than tea tonight though, ladies. Hope y'all are well.

Bubblebell1 · 05/05/2009 07:41

Blue thats lovely news. Im glad you saw a heartbeat. I hope you can try and relax now and enjoy being pg.

Issy Who knows whats going on with me!! ?Your right. I am hoping that AF shows up on time so i can just get on with it.

Sunny when is your af due?

hope everyone else is well.

bluesatinsash · 05/05/2009 19:17

Thanks ladies .

Issy - how are you bearng up? Hope those lo's are being kept all warm and snuggly .

Sunny - its not over until TEW shows up.. REally hoping its your turn to become the gimpering paranoid wreck soon.

Bubble - still have by fingers crossed for you for this month...

Head - hope you had a fab time in Italy and didn't find it too hard to avoid all that lovely Chianti .

Irish wasabi girl Jumping and Sif hey and hope you are all well x

HeadFairy · 05/05/2009 20:24

Hello everyone!!! D'ya miss me?

I've spent aaages reading up on everyone's news for a big catch up, so here goes...

Issy congratulations on a successful ec and et.... a 60% chance is cracking really isn't it? I really hope after all those jabs you get lucky this month. Those blastocysts are amazing. Isn't it incredible to think that so much about those babies has already been decided, eye colour, height, hair colour, gender, even temperement to a certain extent. Amazing to think, looking at those little bundles that so much has already been decided. I hope the 2ww isn't too frustrating and just well.... bleurgh

Irish so sorry to hear af got you good luck with all that poas and temping.

girl good luck with the doctors appt tomorrow. I hope you get some answers.

blue that's really good news about the scan, try not to think about the what ifs... just focus on the here and now, and right here and now you have a viable pregnancy. Are you planning to go for another scan? My doc said to go at 7.5 weeks as a heartbeat then usually indicates a viable pregnancy, but I'm sceptical and waiting to 8 weeks as I think if you see a hb at 8 weeks then your mc rate drops to 2% (or something). We're living very parallel lives, as I think I had my two mcs at the same time and we're a couple of days apart at the moment, so feel free to grip my hand in a tense, squeezy kind of way

sunny I got pg at Christmas after one really badly timed bd, so nothing's impossible. Hang in there

Hi to everyone else... sif bubble wasabi jumping (sorry if I've forgotten anyone, got two pages open trying to remember who's posting what and I'm thoroughly confused )

Our holiday was lovely thanks... I ate far too much, in fact if I see a plate of pasta again for a good few weeks I think I might hurl. Oh and the cheese... too much cheese! the weather was a tad crazy, it was snowing when we got there (FIL lives in the Italian Alps, near Courmayeur) and then the next day we had brilliant sunshine that lasted for the next four days. DS spent the entire time running around the garden in a teeshirt and a nappy having a whale of a time, playing football and going to bed really late. Only downer is I've come back to a week of nights booooo! Still, it's only three night shifts this week, so not too bad. I'll just have to resist those 3am cheese and ham toasties with chips and mayo that our canteen specialise in

Take care everyone, I'll be back when I'm through the dreaded nights xx

HeadFairy · 05/05/2009 20:27

oooh get me, I totally forgot about dh's marathon... d'oh! He did really well considering, 4 hours 40 mins. He would have done better but his calf muscle went in to terrible spasm at about mile 7 so he had to slow up, but considering he's not been able to run for 7 weeks and he's had a pretty bad knee injury, I'm very proud. He's already looking at doing the New York marathon next year for his 40th. Now that I don't mind

JumpingJellyfish · 06/05/2009 09:45

Hello all

Just popping on quickly (I think I say that every time...hmmm) and trying to quicklu catch up

Issy really hope your blastocysts are settling happily into their mummy- keeping everything crossed for you. The images are indeed just amazing, I am awe-struck- it just really brings home how incredible life really is.

Blue so glad you got to see a heartbeat, really hope now you can relax a little.

Irish so sorry AF got you I did the same as you and got fully prepared with temping, OPKs etc- then that month had the blood tests and GP had advised to hold off TTC, so didn;t use them (but ignored her advice and got my BFP!). Hoping this cycle is lucky. It is so hard not to get completely worn down by TTC.

Bubblebell good luck with your 1ww- hope your boys are keeping you distracted from too much symptom spotting!

Headfairy your hols sound idyllic! But don't envy you night shifts at all, esp. when pregnant. Hope the wait until your first scan passes quickly and uneventfully.

Hello to sif (long time no hear- hope you are ok?), wasabi, sunnydale and wishing plus anyone else I have rudely not mentioned

Well I'm now 9 weeks gone so time is passing, and getting nearer to the 12.5 week CVS (on 29th May). I've been on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster about it all but in a way have made my peace with it, and resolve to just chill out and wait. In 4.5 weeks I should know one way or another.
We are also in the process of moving house- we finally got the keys to our new place on Friday, but it needs a lot of work before we can move in, so DH is spending each eve there lifting carpets, stripping wallpaper that was nearly off anyhow, working out the strange plumbing etc. The joys of buying an old property! It's frustrating I can't be of more help but with the DCs one of us always has to mind them... But roping in some friends to help at the weekend, on the bribe of dinner and beer. Just hoping the rain eases by then!

Anyhow thinking of you all lots and wishing you all lots of baby dust xxxx

JumpingJellyfish · 06/05/2009 09:49

PS. Congrats to your DH headfairy- that is impressive considering the injuries! We put together a few relay teams for the Belfast Marathon (which was on Monday) to raise money for Bliss (premature baby society)- my DH ran 6 miles too fast with no training and is now really suffering, bless him! I did very little except meet them all at the end with hot choc and biscuits, but it was a fab atmosphere and the kids really enjoyed it too. I am always bowled over by the determination of the runners, it's a lovely side of human nature to witness.

girlwithacurl · 06/05/2009 10:04

Hello, everyone seems prtty chipper, perhaps its the bank holiday, anyway, apart from irish (sorry about AF) the rest of you seem to be doing really well... long may it continue!

Had Drs appoint. all was fine, I ov'd etc normally and all other tests were clear... so now its DP's turn... Good there is nothing wrong, obviously, but doesn't give me any answers. Oh well, onwards and upwards!

JumpingJellyfish · 06/05/2009 11:19

Sorry girl I had meant to ask how your GP apt went - really glad everything seems fine with you, and hope your DH endures the testing ok. How soon will they start investigating him? I'm sure it'll be a relief in a way to have the low-down on everything for both of you, so you can make more informed plans.

bluesatinsash · 06/05/2009 20:52

Hi there and welcome back Head - all refreshed and full of Italian pasta . Glad you had a great time even if it snowed on your first day. Your DS seems to have had a ball running round sans trousers . Well done too to your DH and his impressive marathon run, next stop New York!

re: early scan, its such a dilema, hold off if all appears 'normal' or go early... I only had one on Monday as I had brown discharge last week which coincided with my doctors appointment which prompted him to get me seen for my mental health! We both haunted the mc threads long enough to know all the scare stories from early scans and bad outcomes but what has since been pointed out to me in RL is that sadly I've ended up with a bit of a distorted view on pg. The vast majority of pg proceed normally and we HAVE to think it will happen for us this time, we have Volvo's to populate for God's sake .

Whatever you go for I'll be thinking about you and squeezing your hand big time.

girl - really glad to hear your Doc appointment went well, fingers crossed your DH is the same.

Gosh the weeks are flying in for you Jumping, you sound quite chilled now which is lovely to read.

Need to go as I'm beyond tired and have been nauseous to the max all day.

night all x

HeadFairy · 07/05/2009 08:44

Morning all. Just checking in before I head off home from work. I had a little wobble on Tuesday night as I had a tiny bit of spotting and I got all panicky. I haven't had any more so I'm feeling a bit more relaxed but I just can't will the time to go fast enough to 8 weeks so I can have a good look and see what's going on.

blue I hope the nausea isn't too awful.

girl glad to hear your docs appt went well and you have nothing wrong. I hope your dh's tests go well.

jumping I hope the next few weeks fly by, but it sounds like you're going to be quite busy anyway, which will hopefully take your mind off the cvs. I'm quite of your new house. Ours is still languishing on the market, I'd love to get my teeth in to a new house but we can't even start looking until we've got an offer on ours.

I'm heading home for a sleep in an hour so have a lovely day everyone else. xxx

Issy42 · 07/05/2009 20:08

Thanks Head and JJF. The round one is Myfanwy and the oval one Idris .
Sunnydale - it only takes one, don't give up hope.
Bubble - any sign of AF yet?
Head - Glad your spotting has stopped, must have been implantation bleeding. Congrats to DH on the marathon - very impressive! Are you ready to face pasta again yet? The image of DS playing in the sun made me .
Blue - hope you're feeling better. Thanks for asking after me.
Girl - Good news from doctors. Perhaps DH will come through before he gets tested - I've heard of BFPs just before a man's swimmers get put through their paces.

I know I shouldn't say this on this thread and possibly tmi, but I'm convinced my CM is too watery for a BFP and I've been feeling really PMT-ish since yesterday. Have a scan on Saturday for the research project and I know one person who got told things were looking good for her at hers, so am going to try and persuade the sonographer to tell me either way. I know they can't tell for sure, but they have an indication - I think by the thickness of the womb lining - and I'd rather just know if it's bad news.

Hi everyone else. Hope you're all well.

OP posts:
HeadFairy · 07/05/2009 23:45

Great names Issy!

I'm not sure the spotting was implantation, it was red (or redish, it was quite watery) and it was at 6+3 which I think is too late for implantation. Don't want to think too hard about it, just got to find something to occupy my mind for the next 10 days.

Still on nights so I'll have to keep it short and sweet, night night everyone xx

Bubblebell1 · 08/05/2009 08:47

Hi everyone!

HF im glad the spotting has stopped.
Blue i hope your not suffering from the sickness too much.
Issy great names no sign of af but i dont think she will be arriving on time this month either
Girl thats great news. I hope your dh is also working properly and you get you get your bfp soon.

dr phoned yesterday and said my results were back. He said that it showed i hadnt ovulated this cycle and i have to do another blood test next cycle. He is going to phone me again today to discuss the results further as he was in a rush yesterday.

feel quite down and am wondering what this could all mean why are my cycles so irregular? they go from 68 days to 26 then back up again?? I dont expect af to show on sunday so i guess its just a waiting game now.

girlwithacurl · 08/05/2009 09:23

on bubble sorry you haven't got any good news, I think you can just not ovulate in any given cycle, so it might not be anything huge, and my cycles have been haywire (not as bad as yours though by any means!) ever since my MC which was over 9 months ago (yes I am aware of what that means ) the human body can be an amazing thing, but also complicated and unpredictable. I hope the Dr comes back to you soon with some answers/suggestions. It must be so frustrating for you though!

Hi to everyone else, thanks for your your kind words. DH is a little worried its him, so I hope he gets the all clear (or we get a BFP before he has to go through it!)

head and issy positive vibes coming your way at this difficult time!

HeadFairy · 08/05/2009 09:29

girl so sorry you're coming up to that time of year... I hope it's not too unbearable and you get your bfp soon. DH was petrified when he had to provide a sample when we were getting tested... silly really, he gets to wank in a cup while I have dye injected in to my fallopian tubes. I know which I'd prefer! Let's hope you get your bfp before he has to do it.

bubble sorry to hear you didn't ov last month. Let's hope it was a one off. I'm fairly sure I don't ov properly after a mc but obviously I do ov in subsequent months. Hope you get some answers soon.

Issy42 · 08/05/2009 19:57

((Hugs)) Head. Nights can't be helping.

Sorry your results weren't good . Hope she doesn't keep you waiting too long. It's probably just your body taking time to adjust from the mc and things will be back to normal soon.

Girl - ((hugs)) to you too.

I'm spotting . Know it could be implantation bleeding (though a bit late for that) but have been really feeling like AF's coming.

OP posts:
bluesatinsash · 08/05/2009 20:22

Issy - I've got everything crossed for you. I had implantation bleed with DS the week before I got my BFP, I remember it well as actually went to doctors as was concerned my cycle had gone to pot. I've also been convinced Af is en route before each BFP as symptoms are so similar . Hope you get a good feeling at your scan tomorrow.

bubble - I've also heard it common not to ovulate every cycle, really hope it all settles down soon.

girl - mc edd are always hard to get through, so many what ifs and might have beens. We just hope that our eventual lo cancels out most of the pain from lost lo(s)

Still feeling wretched, threw up this morning and after tea but was this way with DS so its reassuring me (well as much as anything can 2 mc later ).

On a lighter note, have double bill of ER to watch with George Clooney (no less) back for one of the episodes - yum .

Issy42 · 08/05/2009 21:50

Oops - just noticed the word Bubble was missing from the second sentence of my last post.

Thanks Blue. Sorry you're being sick, but at least it is giving you some reassurance, which hopefully helps you through it.

TBH I just want to get tomorrow over with now. Am going to take my temp in the morning and maybe do a cheapie test so I can be prepared for possible bad news at the scan.

I watched ER last night - lots of old faces coming back. Next week looks good from the trailers too. Shame it's the last series - it's one of my favourite programmes.

OP posts:
Issy42 · 09/05/2009 09:26

I used the cheapie test this morning and all I got was an evap line. Knowing I would agonise over it, I used my last CB dig and I had to do a double-take because I got a BFP . Thank heavens for piap tests! It's obviously very early days (only 12 dpo) and I've previously tested positive the day before I got AF and also mc'd at 4w6days, so I'm being very cautious about it, but am currently very happy.

OP posts:
Bubblebell1 · 09/05/2009 09:33

issy thats brilliant. congratulations

thanks everyone, dr phoned last night and said he would refer me on in 2 cycles time. he wants to do another day 21 test next cycle and then test dhs' swimmers. he also said that the lady dr at the surgery may want to perscribe clomid?? feeling really cheesed off. more waiting around oh well. best to take it on the chin and get on with it.

Sunnydale · 09/05/2009 11:05

Issy congrats! I'm so happy for you! I feel like I've followed your journey for so long now, and am so delighted that you have a BFP. Wow wow and thrice wow! How do you feel? sick? Happy? Delirious? All three?!?! Keep posting - I want to know daily how it's going. It will keep me from obsessing about myself, to obsess about you instead!
I'm on CD24, and have these horrid nippy, pinchy, stinging feelings low down where my ovaries are... kind of like AF is round the corner, only she's not due for another 8 days. Has anyone else had this? I am so not imagining them. All I can think is that AF is coming very early. I wish they'd go away, though.
Love to all the other PG ladies on this thread - so glad you had a lovely hols, Headfairy - I bet that was just the ticket to take your mind off this early stage. Soon it will be your 12 week scans and hopefully you'll all feel more relaxed. Bubble, sorry about your cycle and hope you can get some progress soon. I sort of know how you feel as I didn't get AF for three months, but that was under different circumstances. It is so frustrating though, when you just want your body to "work".

Issy42 · 09/05/2009 14:35

Thanks Bubble and Sunny. They couldn't see a sac on my scan and my womb lining is still only 8mm, but my ovaries are still very swollen and apparently they stay swollen for longer if you're pg. I've had a BFP at this stage twice before and a BFN within a week so being very cautious, but just going to enjoy each day as it comes and try not to think too far ahead. Woman at work goes on mat leave on Wednesday, so have decided that will temp each morning for reassurance and not test again until at least after work on Weds unless my temp drops. My official test date is not until Friday though and I'd like to see the conception indicator change so may wait.

Bubble - Clomid does regulate cycles so could be good to try. Apart from slightly worse period headaches and one hot flush I had no side effects. It also encourages more than one egg to grow so doubles/tripples your chance each cycle. I think it improves the quality of the egg too - certainly does if you also have the hcg trigger. And if you're prescribed it, you should be monitored with scans from day 12, so you will get a better idea of what's going on. Can take a couple months to fully respond though. I had my CP on my first Clomid month.

Sunny - I know my case is different because of the swollen ovaries but I had all of those symptoms and only tested today because I was convinced it would be BFN and wanted to have a good cry at home and brace myself for the scan, so don't give up hope for this cycle just yet.

I've updated the list. Hope I picked the latest one.
