wasabi, I went freelance two years ago (for the same reasons - wanted to be there for ds and step dd!) and have never looked back, so go for it!

Cindy, thanks for asking after me hun (news below!!), how are you doing?

funtime, everything crossed for you!

Well ladies, I'm 15 DPO today and have been feeling very queasy. I've now peed on that hpt, and it's positive - BFP!

It hasn't really sunk in yet; I can't quite believe that AF won't be making her appearance in the next day or two. I'm also full of trepidation as my last pg ended in a mmc in September. This time I will go for an early scan at 7 weeks. I'm just hoping and hoping that this little bean will stick and thrive!!

THANK YOU girls for being there in these last weeks and months; I think you kept me sane!

yellowflowers · 19/12/2008 10:30

oh village that is brilliant. Congratulations!!!

And merry christmas.

Now everyone, it starts with a village...

iggypiggy · 19/12/2008 11:20

Fab news village

am all pleased - hope this bean sticks xx

BoosieBoo · 19/12/2008 11:36

village - hurray!! Well done you. The BFP's are starting to stack up - have a good feeling about all of you for xmas. Am also seriously impressed with all the BD'ing going on.

Went to GP this morning to get booked into antenatal clinic and having scan a week on tuesday - the wait is going so slowly!

Lots of festive baby dust to you all x

smileycat · 19/12/2008 12:23

Villagemum Excellent news I'm so happy for you

I've got really thuding cramps today, the ones you get the day before AF gets you but not due for another wk, I'm not getting my hopes up but can't help getting a little excited that it could be implantation cramps as I'm DPO 7 today but I have been here before & not had a bfp so trying to ignore the excited feeling

VillageMum · 19/12/2008 13:29

Thanks so much for the good wishes guys!

smiley, I had those cramps too (at 9 and 10 DPO) and was convinced AF was coming early... but no!! Fingers crossed for you!

Boosie, good luck with the scan! Guess I will ring my GP on Monday (STILL can't believe that AF won't suddenly appear!)

Babydust to everyone!! (BTW in my case I'm convinced it was the combo of the DP and Preseed that did it!)

WanabeMum · 19/12/2008 13:44

Congratulations Village!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's amazing news, what a fantastic Christmas presant for you. Fingers crossed it's a sticky bean!

Fingers crossed for a few more Christmas BFP's!!!!! Good luck ladies

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 19/12/2008 14:31

Wehey village, congratulations!

JingleJools · 19/12/2008 15:07

I've said it elsewhere but again CONGRATULATIONS VillageMum

My light bleeding has now got heavier, so I am assuming that is AF and all the other "symptoms" I have are just my body trying to screw me over I've never had an AF last this long (6 days) and am blardy fed up with it

smileycat · 20/12/2008 08:33

Jools so sorry you now think its AF but at least if it is it could settle your body back down ready for next month

Pezzina · 20/12/2008 08:51

Village congratulations! that is such great news! And what a fabulous Christmas pressie.

Hello to everyone - sorry I've not been on for the past couple of days but work has been really busy and yesterday was our Christmas party - which was really good fun.

I'm 7DPO today and so far don't have much to report. No sore boobs, not pains or grumbles. Just a temp dip today. So nothing to report really. Hey ho...

BeckyMcG · 20/12/2008 11:17

Congratulations Village!!!! that's a lovely Xmas pressie - a nice little secret for you and DH to enjoy
I'm off to Ireland on Sunday for Xmas with my in-laws - plan to do lots of sleeping - v. social! Have been partying all week and with the early work starts have been buring candle at both ends - didn't get in till 3a.m. last night and so feel shattered today.

Call me neurotic but have booked another private scan for Sat 27th Dec. The reason being I'm heading up to my relatives on Sun 28th for new year and want to share my good news as I won't see people again for a few more months. I'll be 11 weeks at that point so feel confident enough that if I get a positive scan that I can share my news. Then I'll have my NHS scan a couple of weeks later - 13 weeks or so. Bit excessive but I figure what I'm spending is only what I'd have spend of vino over Xmas!!!!
Ok everyone - have a good Christmas and hopefully I will come back in the new year to good news from everyone.

WelshChristmas · 20/12/2008 11:58

hi girls, I've just dropped in on this thread as I was a regular on the ttc threads up until I got my BFP in Oct. Anyway, the reason I'm posting is due to what I discovered on my recent scan and thought it may help some of you ladies aswell.

I was following FF which estimated according to my cycle etc I was ovulating around the 14th day after AF which was what I considered the norm so was bd'ing from day 10 onwards each month with little success.

BUT...I noticed that after my AF ( around day 7 of new cycle ) I was getting EWCM so I decided to bed early, as soon as AF finished which was from around CD5 to CD9. I caught that month. Anyway, to cut a VERY long story short, I went for scan last week that revealed by their dates I must have OV'd approx CD8.

So, I know most of you are experts already in charting your CM etc.. but just look out for early ovulation as I was told by various sites it wasn't the norm to ovulate that early in your cycle which is rubbish !!

Sorry for the mega long post but if this can possibly help some of you ttc then thought it was worth mentioning it.

Good luck xxx

yellowflowers · 20/12/2008 14:00

Thanks welsh.

Hi pezzina - our cycles no longer in sync- i think I ovulated yesterday but am waiting for a couple of days of temp rises to confirm.

I watched that War in the womb programme last night - actually not very good or that much info, just one depressing nugget which was that only 20 per cent of fertilised eggs manage to implant. I had thought it was 25 per cent so even less chance than I though. Bah humbug

smileycat · 20/12/2008 15:26

Thanks Welsh I too have been OVing the last couple of months around CD12/13, but this month got caught out & OV'd on CD9 according to FF, hopfully yours is a good omen we BD on CD6 & CD8, your story has given me fresh hope that I may have got lucky this month when I thought I'd completly missed it...I'll keep you posted

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 20/12/2008 18:57

Thanks welsh and sorry to hear that things haven't settled down yet Jools . I think that you and I are both well-overdue some good BFP news and sticky beans soon.

However, I reckon that I'm out this month, all symptoms have stopped and I don't feel preggers at all (been here enough times now to know what it feels like). Probably just fighting something off which was making me feel odd .

On the plus side, here's to a boozy Xmas !

smileycat · 21/12/2008 07:38

I'm off to the ski slopes today so wont be able to check in till boxing day evening to see if there are any more bfp's & let you know how I got on this month, was hoping to test on Xmas day although FF says 26th but I had a temp tip this morning which def tells me I OV'd on the Sat as per my reconning rather than the Friday (FF) as it follows the same patern as the last two months, which means I shouldn't test till 27th, I'll see if I can wait it out, but I should know before that if my temp dips around AF time

Merry Christmas everyone I hope you get everything you have wished for

VillageMum · 21/12/2008 10:34

becky, I totally understand your need for another scan... 11 weeks will be a safe time to share your news and you'll have the further reassurance of the NHS scan soon after, too...

pezzina, fingers crossed it's an implantation dip!!

jools, I'm really sorry to hear this may be AF, but then you'll know for sure when your next fertile window is and can really go for it...

Thanks for all the sticky thoughts, ladies. I've booked an early scan for 7 weeks - it would be so good to see a heartbeat this time! Other than that I'm just going to take it day by day...

JingleJools · 21/12/2008 15:15

Afternoon everyone

VM - does it feel real yet

I'm confused again today - thought this wierd light bleeding was finally tailing off after 8 days, but just had a flood - judging by my irritability, hormonal tears, cramps and the volume and colour of the bleeding, THIS is now the AF I am used to

So, anyone got any ideas as to what the last week has been ? My best guess is I didn't ovulate, so had breakthrough bleeding and now my hormones have kicked in, so this is AF proper starting today and (hopefully) the start of a "normal" cycle.

What do I consider CD1 though ?? Today or sometime last week. Answers on a postcard please ! (wanders off to hunt for Nurofen and hot water bottles ....)

tinselandglittercoveredwincies · 21/12/2008 18:27

Quite possible that it was an annovulatory cycle Jules. Sometimes the imbalance of progesterone to oestrogen can cause bleeding from around day 21. I've only just thought of this as a friend and I were talking about a similar thing happening to her lately.

The googling I did flagged up higher than usual stress levels as a possible cause for the imbalance, this would certainly be the case after what you've been through lately . The advice on charting is to take CD1 as the day you start 'proper' bleeding (i.e. not spotting).

Well, no AF here today, so not a 28 day cycle (convinced that I'm not up the duff) but I'll still be up for testing if the hag hasn't arrived by Xmas Eve .

JingleJools · 21/12/2008 19:57

Thanks for the suggestions Wincies I agree with you - have found some sites that describe the withdrawal bleed that is caused not by the corpus luteum dying and therefore ceasing production of progesterone, but by the oestrogen being unable to support womb lining and this sounds like what is happening.

I can only hope that my cycle sorts itself out soon I've read about women of my age who end up going into peri menopause after a miscarriage - my mum went through the menopause at only 2.5 years older than I am now. Can't do a lot other than wait and hope I suppose

Keep the faith - you could still be PG the excessive weeing imho can't be a symptom unless you are testing at 6 weeks or more, as the uterus simply isn't big enough surely to cause any pressure on the bladder. As for other symptoms - All I got was the odd wierd tingling sensation in my boobs at 7DPO and 11DPO - nothing in between

iggypiggy · 22/12/2008 09:40

Morning everyone

Have messed up this month so v. unlikely to be PG... all to do with various paries conspiring against us!

So far we managed to BD on CD 10/11/15(x2)/16

today is CD 17...

not hopeful as think we missed the key times in the middle

Jools - hope this is AF for you now and that this sorts out your cycle

Morning all Yellowflowers - good that you know what is going on now

No bleeding at all this morning !!

I was feeling quite nauseous first thing this morning - drove DP to work and thought at one point I might have to stop the car . Am trying to tell myself it is a bug, as I now have a sore throat and that sensation in my nose that means a streaming cold is going to come out in tne next couple of days ..

Having said that, I read yesterday on here about another lady who had spotting for 9 days - thought it was an AF that never quite got going, then tested to "rule out" being PG and got a BFP !!

I think I might just have to test Xmas Eve to stop my mind and body playing tricks on me - I CAN'T be PG as my boobs are not sore or swollen in the slightest.

C1NDY · 22/12/2008 11:54

Villagemum Big hug? oh I am sooooooo happY for you!! Well done!!!
