Jools I am going to go on it too. Can we be Cambridge buddies or something and compare notes?? Are you going on the full packs or three packs and a dinner?

OP posts:
wasabipeanut · 21/01/2009 13:45

Yes, I have decided to wait if for no other reason that I need to know I'm functioning normally again. The dating of it is important to me as well - what I can't bear is the thought of getting pg straight away, going for a scan and then the same thing happening but me not knowing for sure when I ovulated. It would just be too much.

For mine and dh's sake a one cycle wait is in order I think.

Which will be a bit of a bugger as I won't be able to join in with all the ttc talk and 2ww and at the rate you lot are going you will all have BFP's by then!

Joolsiam · 21/01/2009 13:54

I tried to TTC 2 weeks after the MC and drove myself, and probably everyone on here mad trying to second guess what my body was doing - I felt so out of control because I am so used to things happening like clockwork and knowing (almost to the hour) when ov pains will start etc etc. I feel much more in control now that I hope my cycle is back to normal, so can empathise with ppl wanting to do it that way. With hindsight, I think waiting is healthier and I think I was unlucky in having to wait almost 10 weeks for my first proper AF - probably a result of the later mc / higher PG hormones I guess.

C1ndy - would love a diet buddy Counsellor hasn't got back to me yet so I don't know what diet I'll be doing yet - will see what she recommends

VillageMum · 21/01/2009 14:37

Cindy and all you other lovely ladies, hello! Just popping in to say HUGE congratulations to the BFPs - there seems to be a whole lot of babydust on this thread!

I'm a little over 8 weeks now, feeling awful (nauseous) and much lower than I expected - thought I'd cope OK with being pg again after my mc, but it's proving to be a tough ride. I just have so many fears of it all going wrong again, and the hormonal spin cycle I seem to be on doesn't help. We had a scan at 7 weeks and saw bean with heartbeat, but the reassurance of that has worn off now - I have another scan this Saturday and just hope and pray that things will still be OK. Anyway I'm thinking of all of you! x

smileycat · 21/01/2009 14:39

Wanabe Fantastic news you must be feeling so excited, but its also so hard not to be worried at the same time as the others have said its more likely to be a healthy pregnancy than not so enjoy your BFP

I've added my EDD date, well what I think it will be & will confirm when I have my 12wk dating scan

Such fab news Wannabe

our BFP list is very long on here - so am hoping is a lucky thread

I don't have much to report - have been rubbish this month - so don't think am officially going to be on the 2ww this month - but still a bit of BD action to go.. so will see...

Am having a shocking week - so apols for not being on here much

Big hello to all of you tho - and extra hugs for wasabi xx

queenie1 · 21/01/2009 17:45

Just a quick visit as mad busy with work but CONGRATULATIONS wannabe!!! Amazing news. Really pleased for you!!!

I remember you talking of creamy lotiony CM so will look out for that as I while away the 2ww. Any other symptons to note?

SparkyMalarky · 21/01/2009 18:18

CONGRATULATIONS wannabe - come and join us in the GFJ drinkers club on antenatal when you're ready for it

queenie1 · 21/01/2009 18:57

She says she's mad busy with work but can never quite resist the lure of our lovely thread!!

Hope you are all well today.

After my OPK surge on 19th (which I got so over excited about!), I'm kind of assuming I ov'd late last night. So I'm counting today as 1DPO. This is the first time I've said this with any type of conviction which feels serious progress. Given this, I think my AF might come a bit later than I said before (at least I'm hoping - otherwise some serious LP defects going on ).

So I'm updating the list based on an LP of about 10-11 days meaning I reckon I'm due my AF on about Feb 1st / 2nd.

Hi queenie - worth a bd today or in the morning as well just in case as per dp.
x

queenie1 · 21/01/2009 19:08

villagemum - can completely understand. here's hoping for a good scan next week to re-ignite your excitment.

pezzina - hoping for a good scan for you too!

I just want to have a moment. I think it's amazing that this thread has people at all stages and that we can continue to support each other regardless of what we are personally experiencing or going through. That we can have people BDing like mad and trying to conceive, together with people who have recently had awful news, plus people who are PG and feeling both excited and anxious about it is so good. It's a good reminder that ttc is not a linear experience and I think it really helps being able to stay here and share what is happening with each other - whether it be excitment or sadness or just continual hope and encouragement. So love to you all .

Now...must get back to boring work before

queenie1 · 21/01/2009 19:10

yellow - absolutely. as soon as DH is hope I intend to pounce.

How are you? Any more symptoms? I read about your higher than normal temp. I don't temp (yet!) so don't quite understand it but thought it sounded good.
x

funtimewincies · 21/01/2009 19:18

Congratulations wanabe that is such fantastic news !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a few people have said, it's natural to worry, but the odds really are on your side. We just have a disproportionately large number of ladies on the thread who've been unlucky.

Waves to smileycat and villagemum - pleased to hear that all is pootling along as it should be. Sorry to hear about the nausea villagemum but it's sort of reassuring in a way, sort of 'urghh, head in the toilet bowl again, but another reminder that I'm still pregnant' .

AF still missing. I don't want to test and be disappointed (and I just know that it would be -ve ) so I keep putting it off .

WanabeMum · 21/01/2009 22:03

queenie i had a massive headache at 4DPO that i just couldn't shift, 5DPO-8DPO i had thrush and UTI symptoms, from about 7DPO i had the creamy lotion like cm. Then about 12DPO sore breasts. Otherwise nothing to note, no metal taste, or nausea (yet)!
Although I did have some mild cramps yesterday and today, and today I felt poking behind my bellybutton area and lower abdomen.

Hey Sparky!!!! long time no see (or hear from, you know what i mean). How are things over on the antenatal thread? I will come over but not until I get to the 12week mark, a little superstitious about it may pop over to see how you guys are in the mean time though!

Funtime thanks for the congrats i am ssssoooo excited it's unreal! If i were you i would do another test. I tested saturday and got a BFN then a BFP on Tuesday!!! You never know

We went and told our parents today and it was amazing, they were all so thrilled and positive so have calmed my nerves a little about the MC issue. My mam is a nurse so tried to reassure me when I kept saying "well it's early days yet" everytime she asked me a question!
Ahhhhh I'm so happy.

Sending LOADS of babydust to all **

C1NDY · 22/01/2009 08:40

VillageMum Howdy, glad everything is ticking along... enjoy the nausea, its a great sign that the pg is healthy - it will be over before you know it and then you will be in the blooming stages .

Here's having everything crossed for you, for Saturday. I have missed you not being around but understand that you need to rest, when you have a moment pop in and that us know how you are getting along. (Big hugs to you).

Jools I am in two minds.. I may give Dietchef a chance, whereby someone packs your food for you for a whole week and you just eat that and nothing else. The calories are all worked out for you. goush, I do sound lazy eh? but the Cambridge is looking far cheaper than Lighterlife - I may just use it as a meal replacement. Let me know which one you decide and then we can compare notes.

OP posts:
C1NDY · 22/01/2009 09:19

Jools I have just checked out Dietchef and am going to give it a try. Its real food but its calorie counted for you, all you need to do is open and pop in a microwave. Guaranteed to lose a stone a month and its on special offer of £38. Its on this website - take a look. www.dietchef.co.uk/home/landing/?_$ja=kw:diet+chef|cgn:Diet+Chef|cgid:627604352|tsid:5954|cn: DC+Search+Competitors|cid:21570812|lid:3611294390|mt:Exact|nw:search|crid:2685692462|bku:1&gclid=CPe 2pvPooZgCFRaW3wodpyHNmw

Not sure what the food will taste like, proberly like cardboard. but i will be one stone lighter

Joolsiam · 22/01/2009 09:32

Interesting ! Thanks for the link C1ndy - I hadn't heard of that one - am tempted to give it a try but will do some more reading up on it first. Cambridge diet woman hasn't come back to me yet ..

Things are looking up today - I hadn't realised quite how bloated I was. It is normaly bad pre AF but this time was terrible, hence me really thinking I HAD to do something about my weight. I feel much trimmer today (although still overweight) - so a bit of a relief. Went back to the gym last night aswell and loved it - makwes me feel so much better

C1NDY · 22/01/2009 10:39

Jools I have ordered a months supply which cost me £190 and a get one weeks free so its about 5 weeks worth of food. They are delivering it on Monday, so hopefully I can start on Tuesday. I have googled the diet and have found some good reviews. It was on the advert on Living TV. There are loads of people on their website forums who are losing weight and finding it a better option than Cambridge and Lighterlife. What can be better to have real food all weighed and ready for you to eat. I will let you know how I get on but I do sound excited. Knowing my luck I will get my BFP so can't do the plan!!! heheh!

OP posts:
wasabipeanut · 22/01/2009 11:14

Queenie that was a lovely moment! I very much agree with and share your sentiments.

Funtime - um, you are quite late now - may be worth another test? I do understand your reluctance though. When I got my BFP I was due on the Tuesday and didn't test until the Saturday. I just couldn't face seeing the BFN.

VillageMum and Pezzina - all the best with your scans. May they bring good news and teeny heart beats.

Well, I have decided that I feel I need to do something proactive to try and relax about ttc again and hopefully make sure I stay relaxed for the next (hopefully) BFP. I am going to look into hypnotherapy for deep relaxation. Whilst I would hope that stress wasn't the cause of my mc, it certainly won't help to be stressed about ttc. The fact is that I have a short fuse and I spent the run up to Xmas incredibly wound up and agitated over, well, everything. Dh had leave cancelled at the last minute so I had to do everything myself as well as look after ds, work etc. so it was a very stressful time. I'll never know but I can't help wondering if this had an effect on the pregnancy.

I rarely shout at ds but when I do I feel like shit so I think generally trying to chill out a bit would be a positive thing.

Hope everyone has a good day today x

funtimewincies · 22/01/2009 11:46

Good luck with the diets and everything crossed for anyone having scans.

Well, I gave in this morning and tested again with a super-sensitive internet test and another BFN . Thanks for all the encouraging messages, but it looks like my cycle is up the spout this month. The only time that I've had a BFP later than my AF date was with the last mc, when I ov'd late because of the ibuprofen tablets. I'm now more or less into the time when, if I have ov'd late, then we didn't do the deed anywhere near the right time.

Please don't let it be 64 days again, like the last time that this happened, I don't think that I can handle that again .

Oh, arse, arse ARSE !

...calm, breathe, think about the lovely seed potatoes which have just been delivered this morning....

wasabipeanut · 22/01/2009 11:52

So sorry to hear that funtime Was getting really excited for you.

yellowflowers · 22/01/2009 12:09

sorry funtime - still hope though. Maybe plan something nice? A friend of mine took nearly 2 years to conceive and told me that every month she wasn't pregnant they planned something like a trip to the theatre or a weekend away or a nice meal out.

Joolsiam · 22/01/2009 12:10

How frustrating Funtime

C1ndy - am definitely interested in the Diet Chef stuff, not least because you can add fruit and veg and make the diet flexible - ie go out for the odd evening meal. With the Cambridge diet, once you are in ketosis, you need to stay there and not cheat - if you do cheat, it can take 48 hours to get back into a fat burning state. I found absolute requirement not to cheat a good way of sticking to the rules.

It would be a good TTC diet though - all fresh and natural and, if you did fall PG, all you'd need to do would be add in another healthy meal with some carbs - wouldn't have to waste what you have bought

Not sure yet what I will go for - will give it some thought tonight. I've wasted half the morning fighting with my PC and have only now established that the water I dripped on the keyboard this morning has progressively killed it and have had to revert back to the laptop - grrrr

WanabeMum · 22/01/2009 12:13

Wow impressed by the positive attitudes towards dieting! Never really had the willpower myself, but have the excuse now where i have to eat properly!

sorry to hear your cycle is a mess Funtime. How frustrating!! Was hoping you would be joining me on the BFP list Never mind, next time could be your month!

It's amazing really, I was so negative about actually being pg this time. The symptoms i had seemed so easily explained by other things. I guess you never can tell, our bodies are funny things.
Although today i have been having period-like cramps which is quite scary Really hoping this isn't a bad sign? Any advice BFP-ers?
