oops supposed to say "feeling quite positive". so happy i've ov'd i typed too fast and ended up with a word jumble!

Hey Jools didn't say hi to you! sorry huni, good to see that we shall be starting a 2WW together soon! sounds familiar to me, i believe your's ended in success last time so fingers crossed it's a good omen for both of us!

how are you funtime? hope you had a new stash of Green & Blacks for Crimbo to replace that which we ate!

Ahh life is so good at the moment (remind me of that in 2 weeks ok ladies!

C1NDY · 07/01/2009 14:19

Jools Thanks, any excuse not to exercise! Thanks its given me peace of mind. I am 3 stones heavier than I should be, so am battling away at the bulge ? so as to speak. Its hard going but I will get there?.

Iggy I know its hard to pick yourself up again and try again (big hugs to you). I am optimistic each month, so am taking a laid back approach this month and am not going to get too (what?s the word) too? passionate about it. I start bd today, so my mission starts again? this is always the fun part I find, but pining down DH is always a problem :0) You will brush yourself when your ready and I am sure you will up for the next bd mission :0~)

Smiley stay away from the internet? I loved reading about my beans development but some sites just give you too much information and give you other things to think about (or worry about!!). So if you can stay away from them to give you a peace of mind? I know its hard. The best thing is to go to a book store and get a book on the development of your baby, it will save you reading about other peoples experiences. Your 20 wks will come soon enough.

WanabeMum Gosh the fertility monitor sounds complicated, which one do you use? Don?t worry about the ranting, I do it all the time, its lovely to let off steam in here!

Wincies Weldone on the bd-fest, I am starting tonight and will try and stick to the DP. Glad your in the spirit of things, I think January naturally gets a lot of people down.

Heeby I had a c-section the last time around and am hoping I can have one this time around too, it seems so much straightforward but I did have a painful labour the first time around. I do know of people going for a natural birth after they have already at a c-section. I would wait till nearer the time, normally the midwives will help you. If this is your first one and there are no complications then you should be able to give birth naturally, that is what our bodies are designed to do. If you have at a c-section before then you will need to decide if you want another one ? I know I do, but nearer the time you can seek advice from the midwives and doctors.

Glad the scan went well and goush doesn?t time fly? 12 weeks already! :0)

Heeby can I ask you a question regarding the cough mixture you used when doing the DP, she mentions one but there are two in Boots which one did you buy? I saw it on an old post that you wrote that you used this cough mixture.

Wasabipeanut every pregnancy is different, so just think positive thoughts for yourself and your little bean growing inside of you, that is all you can do. My DH always says to stop worrying about things you don?t know about (which is easily said than done)? Just have positive thoughts and rest as much as possible. If anything does happen it will be out of your control, so try and not think about. Positive thoughts?.

Hi,

cindy it wasn't me who had cough medicine i'm afraid? not sure who it was? ladies?

Thanks guys re the C-sec - c1ndy this is my second and i also had to have a c-sec with DD1. I had a 36 hour labour, DD was 2 weeks overdue and very large, after lots of pain and suffering i was eventually put on an epidural and a drip to bring on contractions (she was also back to back) and after 12 hours of this drip (and no food or drink i hasten to add!) they finally said it would be best to have a c-sec. turns out she weighed 9lb 12 1/2 oz so probably wouldn't fit hence me not dilating.

so with this in mind i'm thinking 95% of me wants the elect c-sec, although the midwives are pushing for the VBAC option, i don't know, there is the recovery to think about with a toddler to entertain as well as a baby but i think i'd rather be safe and sure.

Hmmm

iggypiggy · 07/01/2009 16:17

c1ndy Thanks - am actually feeling pretty good today - sort of new year new start etc etc.. Will just be glad when af pushes off now - cos the lateness seems to have made her vengefull - you sound v. positive yourself

smileycat · 07/01/2009 17:33

Thanks for the words of wisdom C1ndy & yes you are right you can read far too much & start your mind thinking in a totally different direction. I've been really good for the last couple of days & havn't looked at anything on the web regarding pg.

I was supose to go for my appointment today with my gyni but heard she was away till Friday & a locom was in so rebooked for Friday & they called me today to rebook again for next wed. Part of me is disappointed that I won't get to see my bean for another wk, but at least now I will be nearly 7 wks & hopfully will get a heartbeat to put my mind at rest.

Heeby I'm so happy for you that you have reached that magic 12 wks & you have seen you baby on the screen it must all seems so real for you now

good luck to all of you on the bd fest & to those on the 2WW can't wait to see all the new BFP's at the end of this month

funtimewincies · 07/01/2009 18:47

Arse, arse, arse - hospital appointment for tomorrow has been cancelled and bugger all ewcm this month .

Apart from that I'm fine wanabe , sorry for all the naughty words .

whatsfortea · 07/01/2009 19:53

Hello everyone gosh, it's got busy in here again the last few days.

My temp is up today, so looks like am on the 2WW now. Am feeling very positive at the moment, if I dont get a BFP this month then it wont be for lack of trying! Oooh, can I please join the list? AF is due 21st Jan. I am going to do my utmost to resist testing until then, as started testing 5 days early last month (due to all sorts of imagined symptoms) and was gutted with all 3 (well, you have to keep trying?! ) of the BFNs. Bah.

But, a New Year, a fresh, positive outlook and all that, lets hope Jan/Feb are lucky months for us all

BeckyMcG · 07/01/2009 20:09

funtime - that's so bloody annoying. It really frustrates me when they do that as for them it's just a quick cancellation phone call and for you it changes your outlook not to mention the arrangements you've made to attend.
Cindy - yep - it's just very high impact exercise to avoid - i.e. the heavier weights at body pump or really strenous spinning but running is absolutely fine. Keep it up - sounds like you're really making an effort and if you can lose the excess weight now before conception or in early pregnancy then late pregnancy will be much easier I assume. I'm trying to jog for 30-40 mins every other day and am on healthy eating kick. Post Friday's scan I might be brave enough to believe I'm going to have a baby and sign up for pregnancy yoga! (If I ever get out of sodding work ontime).

Heebychick · 08/01/2009 09:09

Hi ladies,

becky i did pregnancy yoga last time i was pg and it was the best thing i could of done! it really helped me with breathing techniques and focusing etc in fact i got through the first 24 hours with just breathing and visualisation! i'll be signing up asap again!

Hi to all the lovely ladies on the bd-fest - keep at it girls, the hard work has to pay off and you'll be burning calories too - win win!

what'sfortea Welcome and good luck for this month, sounds like you are as determined as the rest of us so you deserve that bfp!

Joolsiam · 08/01/2009 09:30

Becky - interesting that you mention Spinning as an exercise to avoid - I kept going, on the basis that I'd seen PG women in the class before but always grabbed the bike directly under the aircon unit and went at a slower pace than normal. I'm really not sure if I'm brave enough to risk it next time round though

I did a spinning class last night and really went for it - could barely walk when I got off the bike !! It felt good though, as I'm on a serious health, fitness and weight loss drive at the mo.

Sorry to hear about your appt Funtime - I can imagine how disappointing that is

Wanabe - you can be my lucky charm ! Wasn't it you that was convinced I was PG last time when I started talking about hot, fizzy boobs . I'm to say I'm having trouble avoiding the symptom spotting already and I know it is waaaaayyyy too early

yellowflowers · 08/01/2009 09:46

oh wincies - that is rubbish - have they rearranged?

iggypiggy · 08/01/2009 09:53

Morning all

funtime what a bugger - are they re-scheduling soon?

whatsfortea I did the same as you - tested 3 times as AF was 4 days late... totally undeterred by the BFNs

I have bought this pack

It has a thermometer, Fertility test, Ov sticks and HPs.. Arrived yesterday - am am going to start taking temp too.. obsessed? moi?

wasabipeanut · 08/01/2009 09:57

Hey everyone,

Thank you to everyone who has said to think postitive. I am more relaxed now, although ironically now starting to "feel" more pg. Last night I picked up ds from nursery and by the time I'd done bath, milk and story I was virtually passing out. It was all I could do stay awake for dinner. Thank god tomorrow is my work at home day and we can hopefully sleep in a little longer - ds permitting.

Whatsfortea - welcome! I prob should have said that before but am being useless. This is a lovely group.

Funtime - that's an arse about your appt. You must be cross and I don't blame you.

Smiley - so you're up on Wednesday? I am on Monday so hopefully by midweek we will both be happy and relaxed after seeing our little jumping beans.

Heeby - sounds like you had a rough time of it 1st time round. I completely understand your reasoning re an elec cs. Certainly, no health authority would refuse you one 2nd time round. A friend of mine had a dreadful 1st labour culminating im em cs and requested an elective 2nd time round. They made her go to a counsellor (!) but then agreed that she could have what she wanted. FWIW she said it was a really positive experience - a million miles away from the 1st.

I'm really glad that people seem to be feeling positive so am adding my positive vibes to the mix!

I am full of admiration for anyone that has managed to exercise when pg. With ds I managed a little light swimming from the 2nd trimester onwards but that was about it. At the moment I think it would probably make me keel over I'm so tired.

yellowflowers · 08/01/2009 10:02

Hi,

Just filled in temp chart on fertility friend for today and temp has risen 3 consecutive days 9 and am only day 8) - does this matter? Doesn't mean an early ovulation does it?

x

wasabipeanut · 08/01/2009 11:34

Yellow - I'm not an expert here by any means as I only temped (and inconsistently) for one month but from what I have seen from others here would indictate that a sustained rise - 3 days - is indicative of ov. If it is way earlier than usual for you is there any way you could have skewed the result? Did you temp immediately on waking? Was the heating up higher then normal? etc.

yellowflowers · 08/01/2009 11:44

I have a cough/cold, but have done for weeks and temps seem to have followed normal pattern. But maybe. Gah! Hate uncertainty

smileycat · 08/01/2009 12:00

Yellow FF did exactly the same to me. I was temping for 3 months before December & OV around day 12/14 then in Dec FF told me I'd OV on CD9 after 3 days of higher temps. I really thought at the time that FF must have got it wrong, but I didn't get a +ive on my opk around my normal OV time & I thought we had really messed up in Dec, but FF was right all along, so if you are happy that you have taken your temps correctly I would go with FF (in my experience)
We BD on the afternoon of CD8 so I guess thats the one that caught it
Do you think you have timed it right if FF is correct??

funtimewincies · 08/01/2009 12:02

Could be ov yellowflowers, better get a-jumping just to be sure . Did you see a dip before the first rise?

I'm less annoyed about the appointment today. Apparently someone will phone me to re-schedule. Instead, I'm using the time to make some marmalade (it's a bit good-lifey in my world I'm afraid and has been for a number of years ) as ds is at Grandma's as arranged.

Welcome whatsfortea and thanks to iggypiggy for the link, I've ordered some pg tests.

I'm deliberately tempting fate this month - brother's wedding is in September, I've stocked up on sanitary towels and ordered 10 pg tests online. Come on, this must be the month !

wasabipeanut · 08/01/2009 12:10

Funtime - making marmalade is a very cool thing to do. We are a bit Good Life too - or as much as we can be with our not exactly huge garden

yellowflowers · 08/01/2009 12:21

Maybe timed right - not sure. Had sex on morning of day 3 and evening of day 6 and temp seemed to be at it's lowest day 5 and rose day 6, 7 and 8. So maybe. I would be surprised if FF right and I have just ovulated and guess probably down to being ill but you never know and I have in the past had cycles as short as 23 days though not for about a year and a half. Hmmmm. Anything is possible I guess.

I have taken a sick day today and have been watching Mamma Mia on dvd - is it right that I have been crying for most of it?

funtimewincies · 08/01/2009 12:32

(Whispers to wasabi) My seeds arrived this morning and I've ordered my seed potatoes, it's so sad how excited I get . I'm glad it's not just me . Another way to tempt fate - needing to plant potatoes and being terrified of doing too much and causing another mc. I'm convinced it's either this month or Feb!

Yellowflowers - fingers crossed.

iggypiggy · 08/01/2009 13:40

funtime have never done potatoes from seed - is it hard? I did them by planting potatoes which had started sprouting (didn't want to waste them ) and that was very easy!

PG tests seem good price on there don't they?

yellow maybe if you ill it has altered your cycle a bit this time? Mine was strage last month - and I think that was down to being ill with colds etc...

yellowflowers · 08/01/2009 14:22

Hi iggy - yes maybe, and have been ill with coughs/colds since pre ovulation last cycle so possible all up the spout.

Workwise this would be an amazing month to conceive for me - or the next two months. Fingers' crossed.

Am very impressed by all your growing things.
x

Heebychick · 08/01/2009 14:33

funtime and iggy how easy is it to grow things, i have a dog which would certainly dig and wee on anything half growing, could i get a box or bag to grow things in i wonder? interesting about the potato sprouting thing, very good.

yellow good luck for you this month then, workwise i should of really been due in the winter as i have a summer reliant job (i am now due in july - doh!)

Thanks wasibi yes it was a tough one first time around (what labour isn't!), there is a part of me that is worried about coping with a toddler when you can't walk straight for a week or so, but i guess i just have to call in the support networks! i too have to see a consultant who will 'talk through the options with me' so i'm guessing this will be a lecture / chat about why not to have a c-sec, ho hum, i'll keep an open mind until the time comes for me to decide. The worst case would be going through labour and then havig to have one anyway like last time. that way i'll be unprepared and still having to recover.

Heebychick · 08/01/2009 14:35

ps smiley i'm sorry honey i forgot to say thank you for your comments, yes it feels amazing and like a weight has lifted at last! be patient hun, you'll get there before you know it and i really hope you hear that whoosh whoosh next week!
