pps smiley i just had a thought and just to warn you, my midiwife tried to listen to my tummy at 10+5 weeks and couldn't pick up a heartbeat so please bear this in mind, i think 12-14 weeks is the best time to start.

wasabipeanut · 08/01/2009 14:36

Funtime - we must order our seed pots. They ran out of Jersey Royals last year and I was miffed!

Iggy - seed pots aren't actually seeds (I know its silly really). They are tubers - basically just small spuds. You plant them just the way you did!

Here endeth the gardening lesson.

iggypiggy · 08/01/2009 14:58

heeby If I can grow potatoes anyone can - I just stuck them in the ground (pulled of the excess sprouty bits - so there was just a main one left) - I have zero gardening experience! I did tomatoes last year too - and got loads - just had to remember to feed and water them alot... They were in a pot - mu dog doesn't bother with them in pots - and he is partial to a dig too!

wasabi ah thank you! I need many gardening lessons

Pezzina · 08/01/2009 15:35

Dear all,

Sorry I haven?t been on for a while ? work has been manic and it was also my birthday this week ? so have been having visitors. Have just about got the house back to normal after everything!

So much to catch up on here.

Yellowflowers I does sound as though you could have ov?d early. I would keep BDing every other day or so until you have passed your usual ov date to be sure.

Funtime and Iggy ? I?m impressed by all this talk of growing things. I would love to have the room for a veg patch.

I love the thought of been more self sufficient. In fact ? I was given a bread maker for my birthday and have promised myself to start to use it as soon as possible and hopefully never have shop brought bread again.

Wishing everyone good luck for this month ? may all the BDing be perfectly timed and the 2WW pass by stress free.

I?m 6weeks today. Have started to feel a little nausea but mainly my boobs are fuller and sensitive and I am easily fatigued. 12 weeks seems such a long way away but I can?t wait till I can have that first scan ? I switch between feeling highly elated at being pregnant to totally anxious and nervous that something might go wrong.

smileycat · 08/01/2009 15:37

Heeby I'll have to have the internal probe to look at my ovary & from what I've read you tend to get a slightly better picture this way when you are not too far along & I'll be 6wk+5 by my dates so I'm hoping they will be able to just see the heart beating/flickering, they say once you see the heart beating your chances of it being a viable pregnancy go upto 70%-95%. It will be enough to put my mind at rest & then I'll be able to wait till my 12 wk scan without wondering if theres anything there

smileycat · 08/01/2009 15:40

Pezz whats your due date, sounds like we are very close as I'm 6wks tomorrow
By my dates it will be Sept 4th/5th

smileycat · 08/01/2009 15:40

PS Happy Birthday for last wk

Pezzina · 08/01/2009 16:11

Smiley my Dr gave me due date of 3 Sept - so we're VERY close .

wasabipeanut · 08/01/2009 16:13

My EDD is 26th August - I'm not far ahead of you both!

Heebychick · 08/01/2009 16:17

it's so lovely to hear about EDD - can't wait till everyone graduates and we can chat about our growing tummies!

smiley oh yes i remember on your previous note you said about the probe, i had a scan at 8 weeks and saw the fluttering of a little heartbeat - it really did put my mind at rest like you say.

If it helps the last 2-3 weeks have flown by and i can't believe i'm now into 13 weeks! scary! i have been planning leave and finances and everything!

yellowflowers · 08/01/2009 17:20

My best friend had baby boy today! Delighted of course, though sad too.

Happy birthday pezzina. I have breadmaker - is fab.

I have now thrown up twice today - def not pregnant though - had period 8 days ago but also did test to make sure after throwing up for first time. Bah.

Joolsiam · 08/01/2009 17:27

Will somebody please slap me round the head and stop me symptom spotting ! [oops]

I can only be 2 or 3 DPO, but I'm already racking up a good list of symptoms that I know in reality must be a tummy bug but I can't stop !!!!!

queenie1 · 08/01/2009 18:17

It's so lovely to hear of all your EDD dates! A reminder that all this BDing can actually lead to a new baby! Hope all of you who are now PG are thriving.

Yellow - I'm no temp expert but sounds like you may have ov'd early this month? Sorry to hear you're so sick. Agree that you should keep going every couple of days though just in case.

jools - refuse to slap you as this is what I do all the time! It's impossible not to symptom spot so go with it but always remind yourself it could go either way. I'm hoping for you though.

Began the BD session last night (CD7). Plan to grab DH as much as I can this month.

funtimewincies · 08/01/2009 19:39

Completely agree about the EDDs, reminders of what it all about.

I'm a bit of an evangelist about growing veg so don't get me started . I find that it makes this time of year very positive instead of depressing, as I'm planning for the spring and the year ahead seem so full of potential, very good for the soul .

I'll find a couple of links for those of you interested in having a go. It won't surprise you by now to hear that I too have breadmaker...and a wormery. Oh dear, soon be weaving my own sandals .

funtimewincies · 08/01/2009 19:46

This one is a good general site...

funtimewincies · 08/01/2009 19:50

...and this bit shows you how to grow spuds in containers if you fancy a go but are short on space.

Right, back to all things conception, sorry for hijacking!

BeckyMcG · 08/01/2009 19:53

Jools - I think if you're used to Spinning then go ahead and carry on. For me because I only do it occasionally (and don't even enjoy it) it kills me. I totally think it's an excuse really. My new work has a swimming pool so am thinking of checking that out when the weather gets warmed but always feels a bit of a cop out as you don't breal a sweat!!

Pezzina I would love a crust of freshly baked bread.

Everyone else with dogs - I am jelous. Would love one but work too long hours! Am still bloody here - thought I'd have a quick break and check up on the news!

Gardening - We moved out of (an apartment in) the city into a house (with a garden!) in October to hopefully get ready for a family so I can't wait to get out there in spring. You all sound such pro's . It's too cold for me now though I'm afraid - wimp. I suspect I will need all the help I can get. Hubby laughs as I kept killing window boxes on out balcony before!!

smileycat · 09/01/2009 08:03

I'm so happy that all of you on the bd fest & 2WW are ok about us talking about EDD etc, I would hate to leave this thread, its been my lifeline while tccing & I was hoping it would continue now that some of us are pg & others not too far from becomming pg. I would feel totally lost on another thread

Jools & Yellow symptom spot away, you can pretend that you are not thinking about it all day everyday, but we have all been in the same boat & know just how hard it is not to put every little twing down to thinking 'is this it'

I didn't symptom spot on my pg month as I thought I'd messed up, but when I look back on it I was very windy for about 5 days before I tested (& wks after ) & two days before I tested I was half way down the 1st ski slope after having a wee 10 mins before & was busting to the point where I felt I might have to show everyone my bum as I didn't think I could hold it till we got to the bottom. When I did get to the loo it was only a dribble??, that got my mind thinking & combined with a high temp that morning I sort of knew

iggypiggy · 09/01/2009 09:28

funtime your post made my toes curl

stupid tho it sounds I have a worm phobia... just typing that has made my toes curl am not the ideal gardener

Becky Get a dog - they are fab - lots of walking is so good for making you feel good and takes me away from work stress etc. I wouldn't be without mine. He has a dog walker when am at work so is never alone for more than about 3 hrs max.

back to ttc...

Agree that is nice to hear about EDDs - I just hope its me too soon

Am just waiting for af to push off now... which I think is the most boring bit...

wasabipeanut · 09/01/2009 10:34

Ah yes the joys of symptom spotting. It's difficult to stop even though you rationally know that you couldn't possibly have any symptoms yet!

Mind you FWIW I had zero symptoms last month and then got my BFP so there we go. I assumed that because dh and I hadn't managed more than 1 shag at peak time my chances were somewhat scuppered for that month. Whaddaya know?

Like Becky I'd also be gutted to leave this thread. I have come to really rather rely on you all!

Funtime I am totally with you on the optimism that being a gardener makes you feel at this time of year. Makes the dark, chilly days a lot more bearable when you imagine how it is all going to look in June. We are mainly given over to veg but dh does allow me the odd decorative plant to make it look pretty! My ds already loves pottering out there in his wellies and with his little spade. Def following in his fathers footsteps I feel. We don't have a wormery yet but suspect it is only a matter if time. We'll be knitting our own meusli soon! I hope your AF takes the hint and clears off asap - I know what you mean about it being the most boring bit.

Queenie - what are you even doing on MN woman? I hope you are planning a shagtastic weekend

yellowflowers · 09/01/2009 10:46

Hello pregnant people - please don't leave the thread. i love that we have people at all stages now to share wisdom. x

Pezzina · 09/01/2009 10:50

iggy I have a wormery - and like you I was very squeemish about worms - but really, you get used to them pretty quickly. I even get excited when I see little baby ones in there now. A complete turn-around from how I was about them before we got it

funtime - thanks for the links - we only have a tiny garden so container growing may work for us.

Queenie have fun this weekend

Hi to everyone else - hope you all have lovely weekends planned?

WanabeMum · 09/01/2009 12:18

Hey ladies,

was on training yesterday and didn't manage to get to my computer at home. Busy busy!

Funtime im sorry about your cancelled appointment but very impressed at your green fingers and extraordinary outlook on life at the moment, how fab you are! You have made me feel very positive too.

Jools it was me who was convinced you were PG so hopefully we will both graduate this time. I'm also 3DPO today and have also been having waves of nausea (not too frequent admittedly), mainly on my way into work, a little like motion sickness which passes quite quickly. Can't possibly be anything exciting though as too early for those symptoms, but i can but hope!

It's so lovely hearing about how our graduates are doing and when your EDD's are! Aww hopefully Heeby we will all soon be comparing belly sizes and EDD's ((crosses fingers ever so tightly))

Ahh there is something nice about January, it is like a fresh start and funtime has made me see it all in a new light (ooh very spiritual). Positive outlooks and all that.

Also, me and DH managed 2 BD's on day of OV, one the night before, and one the night after, so if it doesn't happen this month i may scream!! it's the first time we have gone at it so vigorously around OV. Just that extra time on day of OV makes me feel a little more positive.

C1ndy my fertility monitor isn't that complicated to be honest it's more my body being very awkward and unstable . I have irregular cycles anyway so the fertility monitor gets confused with me i think, the reason i love it is because i know exactly when i have OV'd so i can at least time BD right each month. Time will tell!

Ilovebeingamummy · 09/01/2009 12:47

I'm out. Af arrived in earnest this morning, bang on time, CD34. I had convinced myself it was my month for a sticky one.

Am honestly more devastated than with the mc... at least I had my bfps for a while then. Isn't that awful.

EVERYONE around me is pregnant now too. I even suspect the men sometimes.

Joolsiam · 09/01/2009 12:51

Just a quickie as I'm mega busy at work - good thing really as it stops me symptom spotting too much !!

Does EVERYONE get tender / enlarged boobs when they ovulate ? I'd love to hear from anyone who can OV without having boob pain, as it is making worry obsess that I am in another anovulatory cycle and not on the 2WW

For the past few months, I have, but I'm not sure if that was due to more than one CP ? This month, I think I probably did ovulate and my boobs feel like they may be a little fuller, but they are not sore like usual - unless it is because my body post MC is still pretty much used to the progesterone and doesn't react so strongly ?

Wanabe - I have the same travel sickness / slightly floaty and detached feeling and have been incredibly hungry yesterday and today
