aw thanks bluesatinsash... he's normally chewing the remote controls somewhere.... we have to take the batteries out so he doesn't do himself a mischief!

Just updating myself today, I've moved everyone else on a day too. Is that ok?

Hello everyone, really managed to convince my self I was pregnant, or rather my body did, but here I am! I think this month would give me a high probability of being in labour on my 30th birthday, so thats probably a good omen, sods law and all that! Good luck everyone.

BTW to the people I didn't meet on the july thread, I've got a dd aged 22 months.

First acupuncture session today...

bubblebell1 · 13/11/2008 13:25

hi everyone,

hope your all well.

for those that have got their af im sorry you didnt have better luck.

well im on cd20 and i feel really low. i cant stop thinking about getting pregnant, being pregnant and babies. i am turning into a ttc obsessed freak.

ive had abdo pains since sunday my boobs feel huge and a little tender. i feel so hormonal. i want to take a preg test but i know its far to early.

im sorry if im depressing all of you just needed to let off some steam.

ive got my fingers and toes crossed that we all get bfp s this month x

SuziBhoy · 13/11/2008 17:02

oh yellowflowers howd it go? I was considering that aswell.

fingers crossed for you bubblebell x

VeryKeenForABean · 13/11/2008 18:22

Hi All,

Hope everyone is feeling ok? Theonly good thing about feeling so down Bubblebell is coming on here and realising everyone feels pretty similar! That means it is very normal and ok to feel the way you do.

I am finding it difficult to maintain a focus in that I have no idea when I ovulate/when af is due, so can't plan our bding. Am I right in thinking opks wouldn't really help when I'm so irregular? Think DH and I both feel pressure to bd more often "just in case" - not sure it's a good thing!

Babydust to all x

SuziBhoy · 13/11/2008 18:37

hey vkfab

well im kinda in the same position, so ive been relying on ov pains and ewcm. and im sure all your bding caant be a bad thing .

fertile thoughts everyone x

Issy42 · 13/11/2008 19:06

Hi everyone.

VeryKeen - I think that OPK sticks could still be OK, it's just that you have to use a lot of them if you're irregular as you have to start based on your earliest ov date and keep going until you get a positive.

Bluebell - your symptoms sound hopeful.

My not symptom spotting, not testing philosophy has gone out of the window. I tested today and it was negative so that's the hcg shot out of my system on the usual day. Trouble is since tests stayed positive for so much longer last month, when I think I had a very early mc, I'm now wondering whether tests should stay positive the whole way through if IUI has worked. Also thought I had some pg symptoms (nausea, heightened sense of smell, -TMI warning- lots of white CM, slight constipation, sharp needle-like pains, metallic taste), but they've pretty much disappeared over the last two days, so must have been the hcg or other causes. I hate that hcg stays in your system so long after the shot that you begin to believe you might be pg and I hate even more that I should know better by now and still fall for it. If it hasn't worked this time with three good follicles and a smaller one for back up, I can't see when it ever will .

Sorry to be so depressing, I just so want to be pg before my mc baby was due on 24th (and have some good news at my cousin's wedding on 22nd).

Fingers crossed for everyone x

HomeintheSun · 13/11/2008 20:48

Hi verykeen my cycle is normally between 27 and 34 days long, i've made a graph to record my cycle over the last five months to see if there's a pattern that we cab bd too. maybe this is something that could work for you.

Wishing · 13/11/2008 23:52

So much to catch up on in the last 24 hours ladies!!

Hello Yellow, how did the acupuncture go (spelling?) do you have to have a few sessions?? xx

Sorry af came head fairy thinking of you and sending you some baby dust!! at least you sort of know where you are now - hope that comes across like i mean it to!! i think im going to have a messed up cycle this month Enjoy your beer and so glad your still in with a chance for aug!! xx

Hey spats yes docs did conf a very early mc in the end, i saw another doc and got a bit more reassurance and ive been much better recently - thanks for thinking of me!! how r u doing? sorry af came for you again too good luck this month baby dust to you!! xx

Nice to see you smallone but not nice at the same time - hope your ok it always seems to be a tougher time when your sure you have to be pg and then af comes big hugs to you!!xx

This is the best place to come bubblebell when you feel like that, hope we can cheer you up!! the thought of neeveyweevey sat prodding her boobs at swimming made me smile!! i do that all the time too - fingers crossed its a symptom for you neevey - i was the same as you last month bubblebell i became soooo obsessed so dont worry we all go through it some months are harder than others arent they - but your sypmtoms do sound positive so fingers crossed for you and loads of baby dust coming your way!

im only crossing my fingers ladies as im on cd 12 and cant be crossing my legs at this criticle time !! Though i know how you feel Verykeen4abean cos im not really sure whats going on with ov etc for me this month - hoping persona will give me some clue!! Bding extra can do no harm im sure and fun!! but you could still use ov tests like izzy suggested - i get mine from wilkinsons!! seem to work just fine and nice and cheap which is a bonus if your going to be using a few - goodluck xx

and izzy poor you, you seem to be having a horrible time of it! big virtual hug for you! i know how you feel a bit like im sure we all do - i really want a bfp before xmas and i dont want to be too far behind my friend as she is 7 weeks now and it will be so hard if i arent pg by time she is due!! Cant think that far ahead yet though i need to stay positive!! I dont no much about what your going through with hcg shots etc but i am thinking of you and hoping you do get your bfp soon, i can understand why you want it by the 24th but try not to get yourself down too much - you will get your bfp - we all will and just think im sure that we will all have a trouble free easy 9 months (we can live in hope!) cos of the hard time we have had getting the bfps!!

Hello to everyone else as well home in the sun graphs are a great idea, very impressive, i have lots of coloured dots on my calender but thy are getting confusing!! have you noticed a pattern??

Sorry if ive missed anyone/thing - its taken me ages to write this thread and dh is still not home from work, was hoping to bd tonight?!?!?

hope you doing well lovebeingamummy and sleeves thinking of you!xx

love to all and baby dust all round - take care xxxxxxx

Wishing · 13/11/2008 23:53

sorry homeinthesun and headfairy didnt preview and its doesnt like a space in between your words!! your bold now!!xxxx

spring9maple · 14/11/2008 00:07

Hello all,

I've just discovered this thread - late, I know! I'm CD29 on a roughly 33-36 day cycle. From 5DPO and continuing even today (9DPO) I've had mild AF pain, but no AF. Thought it must be coming early but have since read that it's possible to get these sorts of pains and actually be PG.

Have been TTC#1 most of the year and have been so disappointed. I'm 39 and feel like time's running out! My DH has already said he's going to stock up on icecream & choc topping for me just in case AF comes. Also have a bottle of bubbly in fridge in case of bad news. If very lucky and AF still not here, will test on what would be CD37, Nov 22.

Wishing BFP's for all!

yellowflowers · 14/11/2008 09:22

Hi everyone,

Here's my acupuncture report.

The acupuncture guy was really great - no joss sticks, no scented candles, no whale music (sorry if you like that, not my kind of thing). Long chat about periods and what they are like (flow, colour, clots etc) which a bit weird talking to a man about but he was very good. He reckons as I ovulate each month (according to 21 day bloods) that probably don;t need acupuncture unless I want it. He said it's not the cure-all but it may help but if I decide to wait a few more months to see then come back that's also fine - good to have some straight talking. It's quite expensive (£60 first session, £40 thereafter) so I'm gong to have a think about it.

The needles themselves were fine - barely noticed them.

I did find out some interesting stuff though. First, that you don't ovulate from each ovary in turn - he described it as like tossing a coin so over time you ovulate roughly half the time from one and half from the other but it could be the same one several times in a row.

Also he said that if you have pcos (I do) that ewcm not a reliable sign as you may get that and lh surge just as egg is fully developed but pcos can delay the actual egg leaving the ovary so it may be that I have my fertile stage a few days after these signs which could be why not getting pregnant as by time of ovulation dh and me so exhausted from all the bding we have several days off. Guess this is why Deanna plan good as that says you need to bd 3 days over ovulation and again two days after that.

But he also said that may not apply to me as I seemingly do ovulate. Only temping will tell me if I have ovulated and I can then look at chart to see if that matches lh surge and ewcm.

I actually did opk stick before leaving house and forgot about it and when I got home after seeing him these was a line - not quite dark enough but almost, so think I saw him just as I was about to ovulate. Then got home and had lots of ewcm. Dh was knackered last night but convinced him to do it this morning. Will try on Sunday too so hopefully we have it covered from all bases.

Sorry for long post.
x

smallone · 14/11/2008 09:51

Thanks wishing

Hi yellowflowers, glad you had a good visit with the acupuncturist, sounds really informative. Interesting about PCOS delaying ov, makes sense if you think about it.

Probably won't be around much as trying to give my brain a break from ttc, but will be back in the two week wait no doubt.

Saying that I'll prob be back tomorrow!

VeryKeenForABean · 14/11/2008 11:02

Thinking of you Issy, I think that feeling of wanting to be pg before due date of mc is very, very strong - I certainly feel that way about Jan, really hoping your wish comes true xx Thanks for advice re: opks, (& wishing) think have missed the boat this month, so will use next cycle if August isn't to be!

Suzi, you're right, it can't be a bad thing. I think I'm finding it hard to remember what it was like bding when we weren't ttc, ifyswim? Hope things are going well for you x

Home - I do mark my af on a diary thing but then forget when it was spotting/full flow etc, so think you're right and will have to get a bigger chart and have a lot more info if I am ever going to understand what's going on. I'm never one to miss a consumer opportunity and quite like the idea of new pens etc!!

yellow - glad the session was good, hope it's given you a good chance, baby dust to you x How did you find someone that was so into fertility/ttc?

Good luck with your break smallone, understand completely x

Sorry it's so long, hope I've replied to everyone, find it difficult to make sure !!

I have a confession to share! I went on ebay to look at opks, then decided I had missed the boat this cycle and bought preg tests instead!! £3.79 for 20 from fertility plan - if I had know I could get them this cheaply before...... xx

Sunnydale · 14/11/2008 12:45

Hello all, I haven't posted on this thread before and don't think there's much point in adding me to the list, but wanted to post coz know a few of you from other threads - hope that's okay.

Headfairy - sorry AF has arrived, but it sounds as though you are feeling okay about it so that's good. Here's to next month.

Wishing - ha ha ha that I thought you were American - my DP is from Yorkshire too. You must be close to OV time again, no? It comes round quick - not that it feels like it at the mo, as I'm currently on the 2ww.

Promised myself I wouldn't test yet but whadyaknow, half an hour ago there I was peeing on an ultra-sensitive stick (as kindly recommended by Rafiz) which of course showed a BFN. Feel so lonely in all of this - it's so hard for anyone not going through it to understand, even though I have a lovely DP and friends. I almost don't want to bore them all with it, IFKWIM. Am torn between "feeling" PG and "feeling" as though AF is due - I don't think it's fair that mother nature made the two things feel so similar!

Anyway, if there are any doctors reading, I'd love to know whether there's any reason I shouldn't / wouldn't get PG (or carry safely) if I haven't previously had AF since May. I know I OV'd last week as it showed up on a recent ultrasound. Also, is there any scenario whereby a woman can OV but still not get AF despite definitely not being PG???

I'm so sorry this post is so long, esp as I'm a newbie. I hope nobody minds, am bit nervous about joining big groups as had a bad experience with a previous thread. Please be nice, my hormones are all over the place!

Thanks yellowflowers, niceness back to you too. While you've been seeing an acupuncturist, I've been seeing a reflexologist. She makes me feel much better. Although I really feel down today
Issy, your situation sounds really trying and I hope you have some good news soon. You are very brave and should be proud of yourself.

Issy42 · 14/11/2008 17:49

Sorry LJ29 - we must have cross posted earlier.

And welcome Sunnydale - sorry didn't say it before - got interrupted at the end of my lunchbreak and just quickly press post. I only saw a bit of the other thread you are talking about, so apologies if I missed something but I really think you just got caught up in some cross posting between old friends, so don't be scared of joining threads. I've only been on mumsnet for a month and so far everyone has been really nice. And for what it's worth, I really admire your bravery and courage.

Issy42 · 14/11/2008 17:51

Sunnydale - more cross posting. Thank-you for your kind words. Have a treat for dinner tonight and hope it makes you feel better.

bubblebell1 · 14/11/2008 18:34
