Yes it is far too quiet without you around. so how are you feeling? How is bump are you showing yet??

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 28/06/2008 16:58

It has been quiet on here for a couple of weeks, people too busy GOF'ing, or window shopping for baby bits!

I am feeling OK, sick of feeling sick! And generally knackered for all most of the day, other than that I am OK thanks

I started showing around 5 weeks, have had so many people doing the 'gosh you can't have long to go?' thing whilst we were away, I ended up just nodding and smiling because it is getting embarressing saying 'not till January' - which BTW still seems like an entire life time away!

We spent some time swimming, which was lovely, wallowing in the kids pool (water is warmer!) helped my back no end!

I have put on 6lbs already . I had an appertite that would put an elephant to shame.... It has calmed down abit now but I feel sick alot and eat to counter that now ..

I have the dr in two weeks for my internal scan. REally excited about that, cant wait to see the heartbeat and know that all is ok. I will be 7 weeks and 4 days, will there be much to see??

DP and I are paying for a 12 week scan and blood test for DS because I am in high risk group now that I will be 35 .

I have stayed well away from the scales, have spent the last 8 weeks eating almost constantly to try and fight off the sickness feeling, and stop feeling dizzy, am sure I would have a heart attack if I even looked at the scales, let alone stood on them!!

I was 7+4 (I think ) when I had my emergency scan, could see everything in good detail, although I think they do say that the heart beat might not be visable until 8 weeks.

Will the NHS not do the scan and bloods? I'd have thought it might be worth talking to your MW/GP, if they have grouped you in 'high risk' they may well do it. Got to be worth an ask?

Diege · 28/06/2008 17:19

Hi nat! 'Holiday' sounds just what I would imagine - still, they say a change is as good as a rest .
LB, think you are talking about the nuchal and first trimester bloods? (ie.private if your NHS Trust doesn;t offer them). I had the nuchal plus last time, but tbh am not bothering with ds screening this time (although on paper I've never been more at risk than in this pregnancy, due to age)as I wouldn't terminate for ds. odd, beacuse I would have in the other pregnancies. Think I have mellowed and become more philosophical in my old age

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 28/06/2008 17:23

LOL I don't do change, resting is good for me (Am almost at the point of counting down the seconds till I can kick them out of the door to work/school!)

lardybump · 28/06/2008 17:23

Thats the one diege. I will ask gp but last time I was told they didn't do it on the NHS, but as you say nat worth a try.

I dont think I would terminate for ds but think I would need to get it sorted in my head and the sooner I knew the better...

Right DH is round the corner, so had better get gone!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone xxx

Diege · 28/06/2008 17:30

I can see the sense in finding out for preparation, but please make sure you get proper councilling before your nuchal. Ie. the tests are only screening tests, have a false postive rate, and the only way to get a definitive answer is to have a diagnostic test (ie. CVS or amnio) which carries a risk of miscarriage (1 to 2%). I'm sure you know it all already but it's a subject close to my heart as this is my research area and only last week heard some very sad stories from women who had miscarried 'normal' babies after an amnio . I know most people do the tests for reassurance, but once you're on the conveyer belt it's hard to get off. Sorry if I'm saying the wrong things, and coming across as condescening .
On a more serious matter I have developed a serious craving for scotch panckes and maple syrup

lardybump · 28/06/2008 17:40

Diege dont be silly I dont know much about it at all so any advise is good advise. I would have to seriously think about the diagnostic test (that is the needle into the stomach isn't it?) because I dont think I could do that to tell you the truth regardless of the result of my scan/blood test.

Scotch pancakes I havent had them but they sound lush... I am always hungry now but dont fancy anything.... As i have been working all day I think I will get a take away tonight because dp would not of cooked for us... DD has had salmon, potato and veg so she is fine.

Night NJ have a lovely weekend.

kookykid · 29/06/2008 08:54

Morning!

How's the hair, Tink??

Think I got a faint positive on my OPK today. Poor old DH is really under the weather as his cold has turned into a chest infection and hacking cough, so will really have to pull out all the stops tonight! Seeing as I'm CD20 today that'll give me a very short LP which is not very good is it? Still a bit confused about LPs - I'd be grateful to anyone who could explain a bit more!

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday - we're planning a quiet one (well as quiet as it gets with DD around!). See you later.

tinkspregnantwithnumber2 · 29/06/2008 09:22

morning kooky
hair is good thanks
hope you dh gets better soon.
basically lp is time after you ovulate till you get your period. normal lp is 14-16 days after you ovulate you would expect to get period 2 wks after.
obviously everyone is different
we are going to go to bournemouth aqaurium

Ses15 · 29/06/2008 09:51

Morning all!

Kooky - may be a good thing you're having a quiet Sunday so your DH can conserve his energy for important things

I enjoyed the tennis yesterday and then went out last night with a couple of girl friends to a tapas bar. Hadn't seen them in over 6 months so it was good to catch up. I was waiting for the "Are you thinking of starting a family then?" question that often seems to come but thank goodness it didn't come so it was a lovely "evening off" from all that pressure.

Today we're off to look at a house. We already have our sights on one we like but this one is a bit cheaper with more space so seems sily not to look. Then all we need to do is sell our house and after about 7 months of trying to move, we may be a bit further along. We don't need to move as such but if it all goes through and gives us a house with a bit more space, I think pschologically I'll take that as a good sign that we will v shortly need lots more space for a little one!

This afternoon we have my parents coming over for a bbq so need to get ready for that too!

A busy day I guess and then I've got a scan at the EPU tomorrow morning (just to make triple sure that I'm all clear I suppose) and then back to work in the afternoon.

Woah - sorry! This is about my longest ever post I think! Hope eveyone else has some sunshine to enjoy and has a good day. Tink - enjoy the aquarium

kookykid · 29/06/2008 10:10

Thanks for that Tink, have a good time at the aquarium. Sounds like fun.

Hi Ses - wasn't the tennis amazing last night? The Keifer/Nadal match was nail-biting at the end! Bet Diege was beside herself!! Wonder what she'd do to get her hands on one of his sweaty wrist-bands that he threw into the crowd at the end?! Actually wonder what she'd do to get her hands on HIM!
Glad you had a good night out last night and that it took your mind of everything you've been through. Hope you get your green light soon and that EPU tomorrow goes OK.
The house sounds exciting- hope it is asnice as they one you've seen already. Have a good BarBQ with your folks too!

Ses15 · 29/06/2008 10:16

I noticed that Andy Murray's 3rd on centre court on Monday so I may be able to see most of it after I get home from work If not I can listen on the radio as I drive home!

Right - I'd best go and get on with sorting out the house! Maybe catch you later after bbq whilst the football's on (C'mon Spain!)

2beautifulgirls · 29/06/2008 11:01

hi everyone. haven't been around for a while as my grandad past away just over a week ago and have been dealing with that and had the funeral on Thursday so been feeling a little
Feeling a little better today, my nan has flown to America to stay with my aunty (her daughter) for 2.5 months. I was really worried about my nan how she would cope once evryone had left, and now i'm really jealous!

So its CD10 for me.
I've got a very busy month ahead, just had DD2 birthday this week and then DD1 birthday in 2 weeks where i decided it would be a good idea to invite her nursery class to our house for a party and looks like everyone will be attending plus other friends and family how no idea what i am going to do with around 30 children and adults.

Congratulations to all the BFP over the past week

kookykid · 29/06/2008 11:11

Hi 2bg. So sorry about your grandad.
Sounds like you've got a busy time ahead as well. Wow - a paty for 30 kids (you're brave!). How about a bouncy castle? children's entertainer? Could you hire a hall rather than having it at your house?!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 29/06/2008 11:14

Morning Haven't got time to stop, just wondered if anyone would be adding this to their shopping list?

Yes that does say £25620.00

....Not sure it'd fit through my front door, what a shame.....

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 29/06/2008 11:15

Ooooh sorry 2BG, should have read up the thread Good luck with the party

Diege · 29/06/2008 13:48

Afternoon! Just back from Pizza Express with dh and dds and it's only just stopped raining. Staying in for the rest of the day I think, watching videos with dds .
Kooky, lol at Nadal . Had to keep a really serious, 'isn't the tennis great' face on when watching it with dh, when indise I was just screaming phwoar!!!! .
2bg, sorry to hear about your grandad . Sounds like your nan is doing the right thing in surrounding herself with family, and no doubt you will be keeping yourself busy with that party . Just think how great it'll feel when everyone has left .
Hi to everyone else and speak later (football pending...I will be supporting Spain in honour of Nadal )

Ses15 · 29/06/2008 19:39

Hi all!

2bg - really sorry to hear about your grandad. I know we all expect to lose our grandparents at some point but it doesn't make it any easier. I know when my Nana died a few years back I found it really tough. Good that your nan's off to spend time with your aunt and I hope you manage to come to terms with your loss. Thinking of you...

BBQ was nice and we've still got plenty of food left over if anyone wants to pop round???!! Rain stayed away! Anyway, football should kick off soon!
