Just thought i'd post about this as its worked really well for me but you dont really read about it much nowerdays.

I have always been lacking in the Cm department and have never really noticed proper ewcm just watery stuff. I thought i would try grapefruit juice, its talked about a lot on the American boards but not so much over here. Anyway on CD1 i started having a glass a day, its absolutly foul so takes some getting used to but after a few days its not so repulsive, i topped mine up with lemonade tp take the edge off it.

I got my Peak on the CBFM yesterday and am absolutly soaking with proper egg whitey ewcm today, its amazing.

If your ewmc deficient i'd give it a try

I'll let you know in 14 days if it's worked for me.

Good luck

How big of a glass do you have WM? I have a really small glass and its not made a massive diff yet (also how quick did you notice a change??)

CaptainKarvol · 15/06/2008 19:32

Fresh or from concentrate? (am on economy drive!)

WorzselMummage · 15/06/2008 19:34

just a wine glass size ( large of course! )

I started drinking it on Cd1 and didnt really notice a difference till yesterday (cd13) which coincided the peak on my monitor and a + opk. My Cm untill now has been as normal but i'm mega excited to see actually bone fide EWCM ! whoop.

Another good thing about it is that it's really knocked my appitite on the head, apparently is well known as a diet food.

I am a grapefruit convert

i get the tesco own 100% pink grapefruit juice, it cant be from concertrate.

I think its about £1.30 a go but a carton lasts me 4 days and no-one else wants to drink it so it stays in the fridge.. the only thing in our house that does !

Thanks Worzsel, I'm going to give it a go!

CaptainKarvol · 15/06/2008 19:56

It's on my shopping list...

pinkmook · 16/06/2008 07:16

Thanks WM. I have been using from concentrate el cheapo!

FairyMum · 16/06/2008 07:32

also cough medicine!

SheherazadetheGoat · 16/06/2008 08:33

i agree. i used to boak at the thought of grapefruit juice but now i quite like it. definitely improves things on the mucus front.

lastboxoftampons · 16/06/2008 10:13

I can't ever get my bum in gear to be consistent about the grapefruit juice! I'm already on CD9 and I've had about three glasses

Fairymum Just be careful about the cough medicine you use - anything with an antihistamine in it will dry you up instead of making it wetter - you're looking for one that has guaifenesin as its sole ingredient. Also, guaifenesin will not make your body produce more CM, it will only loosen up what you do already have. Grapefruit juice - and carrots as well - are meant to help you produce more.

I'm eating fresh grapefruit (half a day) and started with the cough medicine this morning. IUI expected next Tuesday. HOLD THUMBS

Mandy73 · 25/06/2008 12:52

Thanks for the tip!

ScaryHairy · 25/06/2008 12:55

The other important thing is to maske sure you drink plenty of water.
Your body is not going to waste fluid making EWCM if is it dehydrated, so lots of water and less tea and coffee (which can contribute to dehydration).

pinkmook · 25/06/2008 12:56

Scaryhairy - I think thats where I am going wrong - its so obvious now you've said it but never crossed my mind! Thanks!

WorzselMummage · 08/08/2008 15:42

Hey i just thought i'd bump this up and let you all know that it really did work for me, i got a BFP 2bd month of trying it with a noticible difference in my CM.

Good Luck x

Just wanted to add - I thought drinking the grapefruit juice wasn't working, but I've got loads and loads of EWCM for the last two days!!

Definitely worth a go! Sainsbury's have it on offer at the moment too. Sainsbury's own 3 cartons for £4, or Tropicana 2 for £3.

BSL x

beanieb · 08/08/2008 16:00

I did this for a while but gave up. I actually llike the taste of Grapefruit. I'll start again and Congratulations Worzsel!

bluestarlavender · 08/08/2008 16:03

Oh and congratulations WorzselMummage!!

lastboxoftampons · 08/08/2008 16:22

Congratulations WM!!!!

Me and BrightsideofLife over on the Temping Buddies thread reckon Omega 3-6-9 did the trick for both of us in the EWCM department this month! I haven't had any EWCM to speak of since my miscarriage and this month...well, you know that picture in TCOYF where the woman is holding a tissue and....

pinkmook · 08/08/2008 19:43

Oh WOW WM! thats fab - I will def be carrying on with my grapefruit juice now! Good luck with the pregnancy and a great big congratulations

EmmaBlemma · 09/08/2008 09:34

This is my first month of drinking grapefuit juice and it has made a massive difference to the amount of ewcf... I have a tall glass each day starting 8 days before suspected ov day.

I have also been taking evening primrose oil from AF to ov (not supposed to take it after ov as it can make yout uterus contract) and 2tsp cough med with a glass of water x3 per day starting same day as juice. As lastbox says one containing guaifenesin only. Make sure it DOES NOT contain dextromethorphan... Oh also using preeseed. Have I covered all my bases

Hope this helps, I will report back after 2ww and let you know if its worked!!

lastboxoftampons · 19/08/2008 13:16

Bumping for Tabby

beanieb · 19/08/2008 13:36

Me too - drank loads of it this month, had loads of EWCM. Also drank loads of water so that probably had an effect!

ChoChoSan · 19/08/2008 15:41

Does anyone know if grapefruit juice or guaifenesin help with seminal fluid - I always think DPs is a bit on the sticky side!
