TTC Baby number 2

Lola266 · 05/01/2026 19:22

Little background started trying in May 2025. Conceived in June however had a MMC at 12 week. Scan end of August, ended in medical miscarriage at the start of September.
I had a chemical beginning of December.
baby number 1 was so easy and quick and I’m struggling atm with two losses, the new year and no pregnancy :(
I am looking to start a thread so that women in a similar situation can post and share their experiences on what can be a very lonely ttc journey ❤️

I am CD2 xx

Hi, I’d love to join you. Sorry to hear about your MMC and chemical - it’s so tough. I am also TTC number 2 and also had a MMC last year (found out at scan at 10.5 weeks in October) and ended up having the vacuum surgery. I’m in cycle 2 now (I think) and on 8dpo (pretty sure - I used the clear blue ovulation kit this month so feel pretty confident about date).

Our first was not quick, it took us almost 2 years to fall pregnant but the pregnancy I had last year, we got pregnant on cycle 2 of trying so it felt amazing to be free of the identity of being someone who struggles to conceive. Now I have no idea if it will be same case again - I try not to go there in my head!

It’s a lovely idea to start a thread like this - it is very lonely and not something I like to talk about too much with people IRL.

xx

Hi everyone, thank you for setting this thread up. I have been TTC for 2 years and just got a BFP on 30th Dec.

DC was born in 2023 and conceived without issue. Started trying when she turned one and wow, it’s been a journey! Two MMC in 2024, took a mental health break for 4 months as I couldn’t do it anymore and have a positive now after 8 cycles.

The thing is I’m finding it impossible to be positive about this - in my mind there is no way it’s going to work. The nights are the worst as my husband goes to bed early for work and I sit here and overthink and panic. I’m worrying my anxiety is going to cause the baby issues. I’m on progesterone and blood thinning injections as a precaution but all my tests showed up normal (private - NHS didn’t want to know) so I’m not convinced it will help. I have progesterone for MMC2 and it didn’t prevent it.

im really worried that another MC will break me. 🙁 sorry for the trauma dumping!

Lola266 · 05/01/2026 22:28

Hi both ❤️
@TupATea so sorry to hear about your miscarriage and struggles of trying for your first. From what people have told me the fact that you can get pregnant is a good sign, so a pregnancy after second month of trying looks promising for T
TC2 I hope this is your month ❤️
@peepsypops congratulations on your BFP. It’s so hard to not think negatively especially when you’ve been through so much. I have my fingers crossed for you that this will stick ❤️ I spoke to EPU nurse recently who advised that progesterone won’t do no harm even if not required. Try to stay positive I know it’s hard. How many weeks are you ? Xx

I have also gone private and I’m waiting some blood results. my guess is I will also be put on progesterone but I’ll wait and see.

Hello, would be great to join 😊
We’ve been ttc #2 for around 18 months, DS is 3.5. I had MCs in July and November last year and this is our first month back ttc.
I’m on CD1 X

GreenApple121 · 05/01/2026 23:51

hi everyone, can I also join?
@peepsypops congratulations on your BFP! It’s so difficult to just be excited after precious losses. Keeping fingers crossed for you and that progesterone and blood meds help things!

I am also trying for baby number 2 - we started trying in April’25 and fell pregnant in July but had MMC at around 7 weeks, which was devastating. Took couple months off and this is first month TTC agin. I wasn’t tracking ovulation this month, cycles have been pretty regular even after the MMC so I should be about 2-3 days DPO or around that. I usually get quite obvious ovulation pains on alternate sides each month. Had my progesterone tested on day 21 in Dec and came back good levels.
Wishing everyone so much luck and baby dust! ❤️

Lola266 · 06/01/2026 09:20

Welcome both! ❤️
@CrazyKJ @GreenApple121so sorry about your miscarriages. Wishing you both all the luck this month ❤️

I was curious - has anyone tried taking baby aspirin? I’m 40 so was prescribed it from 12 weeks - did not make it that far with the pregnancy in the summer however. I heard of people taking it from their BFPs - esp if had history of miscarriages - not sure if anyone had any experience of this? X

Lola266 · 06/01/2026 11:16

I spoke to the EPU nurse about this she said everyone is different and they would not recommend unless you need it. She told me to do some research on it haah. I have and from what I have seen there is no harm in taking a low dose daily. I have a appointment with my private doctor tomorrow to talk through some of my blood results I’ll ask the question and see what he says and let you know :)

Thanks so much for offering to ask about this! ❤️
I also heard that it can be prescribed for ‘sticky blood’ but that this is quite difficult to fully assess and it has helped people
without this issue being diagnosed. Also heard that it does not do ‘harm’ when taken in low doses. One of the things I heard that it couldimprove blood flow to the uterus? I think there was a very large US study about it and it I think has shown positive results if taken consistently?

That’s interesting about the study on low dose aspirin 🤔

We are also TTC no2. Had a very lucky journey having our DS who is 3. After 10 cycles I conceived in June 2025 but suffered a MMC at our 12 week scan which I found completely devastating. Have TTC again for 4 cycles so far but no luck yet.

wonderlust07 · 07/01/2026 09:16

Hi, I am also TTC number 2. I had a MMC in early November & getting frustrated that my cycles arent back to any kind of normal yet.

mumofro · 07/01/2026 10:32

Hi everyone ❤️
I have been on my fertility journey for 18 months with 3 early miscarriage. Been back trying for the last 3 cycles since last miscarriage. Period came today :/

I have a 6 year old son from a previous relationship.

Lgn90 · 07/01/2026 10:44

Hi all, really pleased to have found this thread as I am in a similar position! DS was born in Oct 2023 and conceived third cycle (after a chemical second cycle). Started TTC #2 May 2025, had BFP end of October and sadly just before Christmas had an MC at 10 weeks. I only just got the negative test on Saturday just gone (3 weeks after the bleeding started). Floored me a bit but ready to start trying again. I'm 35 though and suffer from irregular cycles, cycles are between 30-45 days. Obviously I am ovulating but considering going for private testing and then trying to get Clomid or something to hopefully make my cycles more regular and therefore have more "chances" but not sure if that's usually prescribed for women who don't ovulate at all. I've had all the testing for PCOS but that's been ruled out, and never really had an answer as to why I have long cycles (and it's been that way since I was a teenager, so not really a "lifestyle" thing).

Lola266 · 08/01/2026 12:04

Hi all welcome ❤️ sorry for your losses it’s honestly the hardest thing xx

Sorry for the delay but I had my results for my bloods yesterday and it wasn’t the news I thought it would be. The results came back and said I had a slightly raised anticardiolipin antibodies. Also my Natural killer cells are raised (21%) normal range is below 20%.
He said the best option for me is to go through IVF I’m not sure I trust his opinion as it seemed to be all that he could suggest.
But when I asked what I could do to reduce the numbers he said baby asprin daily 😂 he also said diet, working out etc but was basically saying I’ll miscarry again and IVF was the only way to avoid that.
anyway im not sure if that helps about the baby asprin.
I went to my GP to discuss the bloods with them and they’re doing my bloods again but he wasn’t sure if he could do the NK cells. Just waiting on them now :)
I’m not sure where that leaves me tbh feeling more confused than ever.

hope everyone’s ok ❤️

So sorry to hear you had difficult news today!
I don’t know much about NK cells but heard about them on other threads. It doesn’t sound like your level is massively higher than the normal range though?!
how are you feeling? Do you think you will try some more before deciding about IVF?
hope you’re ok!
interesting though what they said about baby aspirin and lifestyle too?

Lola266 · 08/01/2026 21:43

Hey,

yeah I’m just not sure. My levels are not alarming so it hard to tell. I just don’t like the fact he went straight to IVF instead of getting to the route of whats going on. We are unsure because of the cost and also no guarantee it will work. It’s so hard.

we think we might try for the next couple of months and go from there xx

Sounds like a good plan to try for a bit. I remember reading on Tommy’s website about NK cells and that it’s not actually that clear what are optimal levels for fertility/conception?
will you be trying the baby aspirin do you think?
wishing you all the best!!

Lola266 · 09/01/2026 09:29

Hey,
yeah and from what I have read on my blood results the NK cells active range were normal so although high there not active - not sure if I’m understanding it wrong but it’s sounds like that means there not in attack mode ? I’m thinking of going to another dr for a second opinion on my results to be sure. Also waiting on the nhs ones and I have sent my private ones to my GP and he said he will look into and look at my new ones too. Hopefully I can a resolution X

but yeah I’m 100% going to be taking asprin going forward I started taking it Wednesday cycle day 4 and will continue taking it now :)

I'm also trying to go on daily walks about 30-40 minutes each day and try and keep active. My diet is ok and I take pregnacare conception and omega 3 daily. I just haven’t felt like moving since the miscarriage 4 months ago, so hopefully this gets my body on the right track.

I'm also thinking of trying acupuncture for stress has anyone tried this and does it work 😅? X

Lgn90 · 09/01/2026 10:45

@Lola266 I've tried acupuncture and didn't love it but I've found reflexology SOOO good for stress! x

How’s everyone doing?
I’m about 8-9 DPO and been having some ‘symptoms’ of headaches and nausea last two days, so couldn’t resist and tested yesterday with cheap Boots strips - thought I saw some shadow on a test, tested again with FMU this morning and of course stark negative! Hate not being able to resist the ridiculously early testing…

LizzyRL · 10/01/2026 12:27

Hey I'm similar to you, about 8dpo though according to my tests I ovulated quite a bit later this month but once I did the lines were really strong. Not holding out much hope but so far resisted testing😅
