Looking for fellow long haulers! Been casually TTC for 2 years now, and now taking it a bit more seriously. Share your stories and where you are in your cycle now 😊

Morning, we've been ttc #2 for around 18 months. Already have a 3.5y DS. Took around a year to conceive pregnancy number 2 and then had 2 losses within 6 months. This is our first month back ttc since our loss in November. AF is due around the 5th Jan so just waiting for that so we can get busy lol X

DreamingSwan · 29/12/2025 08:35

Hi! TTC baby 1 around 18 months, currently coming towards the end of cycle 20. I’m expecting AF somewhere around the 3rd-5th Jan. We are due to begin IVF as soon as my period comes in late Jan/early Feb so almost done naturally trying and I feel very anxious.
I am 33 and a half and terrified it’s never going to happen.

MadeWithL0ve · 29/12/2025 15:57

9 years ttc #2, 2 ectopics one tube removed and multiple miscarriages

Bluebellsfortwo · 29/12/2025 16:09

@CrazyKJ welcome! I'm also ttc #2. First baby took almost 4 years and one round of IVF which we luckily had NHS funded. Atm we can't afford private so we are doing what we can naturally. I am so sorry to hear that you have had losses, that must have been difficult to go through. Fingers crossed that this is your month🤞

@DreamingSwan welcome! Sorry that you're on this horrible rollercoaster of infertility but happy for you that you are starting IVF soon. I know the feeling of wanting that miracle BFP before starting IVF 😂 didn't happen for me but hoping it does for you lol. Are you going to be doing standard IVF or ICSI?

@MadeWithL0ve welcome, so sorry you've been in this journey for the long haul and sorry to hear about your ectopics. Are you TTC naturally or doing treatment?

Thanks Bluebells. It’s probably going to be ICSI because my DH’s sperm has low morphology but they will decide when they see the sample I think.
Where are you at with IVF?
DH and I trying to decide if we should TTC next cycle or take the month off to just totally prepare mentally for IVF…

Bluebellsfortwo · 30/12/2025 12:35

@DreamingSwan we did ICSI back in 2022 for my first back, my husband had low sperm quality on all fronts but morphology was literally 0%. Atm we are not pursuing IVF but probably will in the future at some point though. Have zero embryos so it will need to be from scratch again and the thought of going through it all again fills me with dread honestly.

Hello, 2 and a bit years TTC with 4 miscarriages. Currently on my first cycle trying again since last loss, but I have pcos so I’m feeling frustrated on cd26 and still not ovulated!

Starrynight11 · 30/12/2025 18:33

Think we are on month 17/18. Fertility appointment in March (9 months after referral). Husband has Tetrazoospermia but I'm not convinced that's the only issue. Just want to get moving on the next steps, it's awful waiting!!

Moosey898 · 30/12/2025 18:43

9 years, 4 missed miscarriages between 8-11 weeks and then lost our little girl at 22 weeks. They had to induce her to save me as I had a serious infection which was utterly devastating.

We're starting IVF soon (hopefully February cycle). I was diagnosed with chromosome translocations last December so Ava was our little miracle which made the loss even more upsetting. We are doing ICSI with PGT-A and PGT-SR on the NHS, due to my diagnosis we get 3 rounds paid for.

JustAboutMuddlingThrough · 30/12/2025 19:15

14 years ttc #1 which ended in a miscarriage followed by 4 more losses and ttc again with no success since 2021

AnonKat · 30/12/2025 19:24

I ttc for 5 years and now have a 2 week old. I rarely ovulate and was in the process of tests. Then I got my positive. Just sending some hope!

Did anything change to help you get your BFP?

Welcome! sorry to hear about your losses ❤️ PCOS is a frustrating diagnosis... Are you just ttc naturally or have you tried things like clomid etc?

I feel you, I'm currently on the wait list for NHS fertility investigations, it's such a slowwwwww process! Last time (for my first) I had to wait 9 months from referral for my first appointment, and then another 10 months till we actually started IVF.

Update from me, CD1 today. I was really confused to see it as I hadn't really felt like my period was coming this month, in fact I wasn't sure if I had even ovulated yet as I hadn't really had the typical ovulation pains (plus I had the flu early in my cycle which sometimes messes with ovulation for me). But AF arrived bang on time after a 25 day cycle which is my typical cycle length. Oh well.

Hey! December marked 3 years TTC #1 for us.

We’ve not been actively trying properly for a while as it all got too much, we’ve just not prevented it.

OH has very low count, 2% morphology but motility is normal. He also has enlarged veins so we’re chasing up for an embolisation.

I feel like everyone I’ve ever met is getting pregnant at the moment ☹️

@Bluebellsfortwo thank you, i’m on metformin, which has helped reduce my cycles down to around 40 days, give or take a couple of days. I’ve ovulated now & so I’m 5dpo. I’m sorry you’re on cd1, it’s always horrible when AF arrives

Tealover11 · 07/01/2026 19:32

With my dd conceived on the 3rd cycle very quickly. Just recently fallen pregnant after 2 years of trying. I started looking into IVF clinics and even had an appointment for a consultation booked. It’s so frustrating and I feel your pain. But in the month I didn’t focus on it and kind of resulted to the fact I might need some help it happened. Keep track of ovulation and don’t put too much pressure on yourself . Sending baby dust your way

Thank you so much. Unfortunately we don't get to bank embryos, so we will go to PGT testing and then (hopefully) frozen transfer, if we get any euploid ones 🤞🏼

Another negative this month for me. Feeling super disheartened. I don't know why but I had a really good feeling about this month.

I'm looking into trying at home insemination for my next cycle, anyone else tried this?

OP posts:
Moosey898 · 28/01/2026 10:40

@Bluebellsfortwo we did that for 3 years with 4 pregnancies in that time. So it does appear to work! (Partner has issues ejaculating from intercourse so home insemination took all the stress out of it, it was perfect for us).

We're all set up for our first egg collection round, should be starting at the weekend if my period shows on time. Not sure what to expect, perhaps that's best as no expectations means lower disappointment if it doesn't work.

firststeps124 · 28/01/2026 11:55

@Moosey898i had a egg collection in September let me know if you have any questions

Bluebellsfortwo · 28/01/2026 12:09

@Moosey898 that's really good! Do you have any advice on what to use? Did you use a specialised kit? Or would it be okay to buy regular syringes off amazon (I think they're labelled as lube syringes) and specimen pots. Trying to save money where I can lol.

Wishing you all the best with your ivf round. What medication are you going to be on? We're planning to do IVF abroad, just need to save up the money for it.
