...how long did your second take?

Everyone I know has taken much longer the second time and I'm wondering how much I should factor that into plans for #2 - obviously I'm aware it could happen and we'd be prepared for that, but want to manage expectations!

It’s going to depend on your age. I had my first at 37 and I remember by doctor told me not to wait to try again. DP and I laughed and laughed as we’d conceived immediately first time. On how the laughs turned hollow when it took nearly three years and three miscarriages to miraculously conceive DC 2.

My first child was a happy accident after one contraception fail (and by that I mean we failed to use any 😆). My second pregnancy was conceived on a one-off whim but ended in a miscarriage. Third was another miscarriage after 2 months of active trying immediately after. We took a break for a couple of months then my fourth pregnancy was the first month of trying and this one happily stuck. So while I conceived easily each time, it took a lot longer to create my second child due to the losses. I’m definitely all done now!

No 1 fell pregnant on the pill age 19. No 2 unfortunately ended in miscarriage but was 1st cycle age 29. I tracked my cycle using an app that time round
