I am so tired. DD woke up every 30 mins last night screaming her head off. Is this normal after MMR or has she been possesed by the devil??????????

kayzisexpecting · 04/06/2008 07:09

Morning LL,

Don't know if it is normal. DS has been sleeping normally since having his MMR.

He woke up at half 5 though. Serves me right I suppose for putting him to bed early.

lardylumps · 04/06/2008 07:24

She also has a stinking cold so think it may be a reaction to the pneumonia rather than MMR.

I think I will keep her in today just to be sure.

I need some matchsticks for my eyes though.

kayzisexpecting · 04/06/2008 07:27

Poor LL. I hope she gets better soon.

I've just done the wedding ring test and it says I am having a girl. Only 7 weeks to find out.

lardylumps · 04/06/2008 07:30

Oh how lovely would that be for you.

kayzisexpecting · 04/06/2008 07:32

I know, most of the old wives tales say I am having a girl and so does the gender predictor thing on the internet. Bet it'll turn out to be a boy and they'll all be wrong.

NatalieJaneIsPregnant · 04/06/2008 07:32

Morning

Catch up (what I can remember!)

Kay, can't believe your sister, haven't read the other thread yet, but what I have picked up on here is bad enough, will read the other one in a bit... And LOL at the 'movements'!!

Squack, I know have heard all about the 'don't shout, use the energy to push' stuff, but considering DS1 was pushed out in less than 15 mins, and DS2 was pushed out in less than 4, I am entitled to bloody scream! Screaming is good for me, much better than the 'OMG this is hotting up now' mooing that manages to escape out of me! (Can you see why I would love to labour alone?!!)

Can't remember who said it, but nappies, I have always used disposables, I have a lovely romantic idea of using reusables, but in reality it would drive me insane, I have enough washing to get through now, and I just couldn't stand to have a bucket of ermmmmm that stuff in the house... and of course, I am lazyyyyy

Can't remember any more, sorry if I missed any good stuff!

Think I may have caught the babies heartbeat last night, only for a couple of seconds, but it was 130+ beats per minute, and I can hear what I think is the placenta (is that even there at 8/9 weeks?) if it isn't the placenta, it is something else that swishes! If it is the placenta though, and it is swishing, that is a good sign right? I mean it wouldn't be swishing if it wasn't working? Or am I clutching at those straws again?

NatalieJaneIsPregnant · 04/06/2008 07:34

Sorry x posts with most of todays!

Kay with both of my boys all the old tales said girls, it was only the lack of morning sickness that made me think they were boys!

kayzisexpecting · 04/06/2008 07:36

Morning Nat,

My sister is crackers!!!

I was told while pushing out DS not to scream. I felt like telling the MW to sod off!!

I have no idea about swishing placenta. Couldn't help you I'm afraid.

lardylumps · 04/06/2008 07:41

Nat you have been throught it twice how did the MMR and pneumonia jab effect your boys?

NatalieJaneIsPregnant · 04/06/2008 07:42

LOL Kay, I distintly remember while doing all the screaming and pushing, having this really really calm and serene voice in my head saying 'it's alright, the baby will be here soon, but I wish that MW would fuck off' LOL

lardylumps · 04/06/2008 07:42

Where did that t come from through it twice.....

NatalieJaneIsPregnant · 04/06/2008 07:43

Only once, DS2 will have it before he starts nursery.

DS1 was fine, I think he did get a bit of temp. but nothing major, but he was 4 when he had it.

NatalieJaneIsPregnant · 04/06/2008 07:45

Oooops didn't realise the time, had better get the boys up - lazy arses aren't they?!!

Will be back in a bit xxx

kayzisexpecting · 04/06/2008 07:48

I know that MWs are only there to help but sometimes they can be so annoying. The "nearly there" comments really annoyed me, along with the "You are still in early labour so I wont examine you yet" I was actually 8cm dilated and in agony and they didn't think I was ready to go to a delivery room but they moved me as I was upsetting a 14 year old in the early stages of labour with my crying and screaming. Then they realised!

NatalieJaneIsPregnant · 04/06/2008 08:08

LOL Kay, they moved me up to delivery at 4cm (waters broke, bang straight to 4 cm) by the time I had managed to pack my stuff and waited for someone to actually take me up to delivery, I couldn't speak, got to the delivery room, because of the PE she was desparate to get a urine sample out of me, so I really really REALLY tried to get to the bathroom (was only 6 foot from the bed) got to the door and told her I couldn't wee whilst he was crowning, she said "oh don't be silly, you've only just got here, he isn't coming yet, come and get on the bed" tutted and rolled her eyes at me. I practically crawled to the bed, climbed on, on my own, no help or anything, as I led down DH walked in, I said I need to push, she said no, don't push yet, I said I haven't got a choice, 4 mins later he was out!

She never apologised, but then I didn't care at the time! I was more annoyed at the cleaner coming in whilst I was being stitched up to mop the floor, I know they have their job to do but jeez!! I did enjoy getting the floor soaking wet when I had my shower though, LOL

kayzisexpecting · 04/06/2008 08:15

After I had DS they sent me to have a bath. But they never told me where DH and DS were. DS was less than a hour old and I had already lost him so I had to go hunting for him and DH.

I really dont want to have my baby there again as they were rubbish. They never gave me anything to eat and I was there for 24 hours. DH had to smuggle me food in and then when my mum picked us up she took us via mcdonalds drive through because I was so hungry.

NatalieJaneIsPregnant · 04/06/2008 08:21

I had DS2 in Blackburn, they weren't too bad food wise, but then I was in for 2 nights, but when I had DS1 in Kettering, we got there at 9pm on the Sunday night, I spent all of the next day labouring, had him at about 6.30, by the time we'd got back to the post-natal ward it was getting on for 10 pm, I'd had nothing all day except a glass of water, I was awake all night in awe of DS1, breakfast time, no one told me you had to go and get your own breakfast, I was absolutely starving by this point, and was BF him, which didn't help, eventually about 10 o'clock a MW came in and said have you had something to eat, I said no, she said there is toast out there in the corridor, so I went and got the last piece of cold toast, with no butter on, god knows how long it had been there, never tasted anything sooo delicious in my life! So from the Sunday tea time, till mid-morning on the Tuesday, going through labour and BF, I'd had nothing, to eat, a glass of water on the Monday, and about 3 hours sleep!

Cosmogirl · 04/06/2008 08:22

Morning all, hope everyone's well. Should be ovulation week for me so I am on EWCM watch. Just drank some grapefruit juice with breakfast......not the tastiest, but thought it might help.

kayzisexpecting · 04/06/2008 08:25

I was asked to fill in a form of what I would like to eat, so I did. They then said I didn't fill it in. So DH said he would go to the canteen and get me some food but I wasn't allowed food from outside the ward. In the end I was given a stale tuna sandwich that as I was about to take a bite DH saw mould on the crusts. I was told I was too fussy

But the nurse was a pyscho bitch from hell. If she is on duty when I have this one I am leaving and will give birth in the car park if I have too

kayzisexpecting · 04/06/2008 08:34

Morning Cosmo.

Urgh right I had better get ready to go to work. I'm in all day today.

I'll be on at lunch time, have good days everyone.

EsmeWeatherwax · 04/06/2008 09:17

Morning ladies.

Kays, your sister does sound pretty irresponsible, no wonder you're worried. Also at your midwife. And the tuna sarnie...yuck!Have to say tea and toast after giving birth so good I nearly cried. But the was greeting anyway cos dd was in scbu, and I couldn't cuddle her...Have to say all midwives who attended me were great though, was really lucky that way, even if dd's birth didn't go exactly to plan! (She was induced, OP, ended in em cs.)

Am really scunnered today as I am awash in ewcm, and dh was too tired to get it on last night. Could kill him.

Tink, happy birthday for tomorrow!
