I just bought a ‘Fertilily’ cup, but wondered if it’s something worth bothering with? Worried about the insertion etc too 😅

I’ve heard really good things from people who used them. I’m planning to have a go at using one this cycle!

I tried using one. Easy enough to insert but removing was such a pain - the suction was so strong that it was almost uncomfortable.

I switched to a Flexi disc or softdisc or whatever they were called. Same principle but I found them much easier to use and more comfortable.

I posted on here about it and someone gave me some great advice on how to use it; https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/conception/5391640-conception-cup-how-to-use

I found using it for real post DTD was a lot easier than when I tried it as it slid in a lot easier!

The reason I bought one is because I have to go to the toilet straight afterwards to avoid UTIs and this avoids anything going down the toilet.

It is tricky though I have to say to get it to be flat and not on its side. The other thing is when you take it out you take a lot of semen out with it.

They say sperm can live for 5 days but I’ve heard the cervix is only open during ovulation so in the days running up to ovulation I imagine the sperm is still in the vagina and hasn’t traveled further than that in which case valuable sperm would still be in the cup when it’s taken out???

Conception cup - how to use | Mumsnet

Sorry this is a bit graphic…. So I bought a conception cup and I’m struggling to use it. I wonder if anyone has used this and can offer any advice?...
