OP posts:
kayzisexpecting · 22/05/2008 19:48

I don't know. I've never used them. Maybe around day 5. Maybe Squack could help.

Squack · 22/05/2008 19:51

LL are sure you're not pg?

cd8 for opk's I would've thought.

glaskham · 22/05/2008 20:00

right i'm off now. night night all!!

lastboxoftampons · 22/05/2008 20:04

Hi All - can I join you as well? This certainly seems the place to be! 3 pages in under an hour! WOW! I see some familiar faces -

lardylumps · 22/05/2008 20:07

Night glaskham.

I havent tested to see if pg because I came on two days before af due. But the bleading has stoped after just two day. I shouldn't even be on until today and it is over already............

I think I might test tomorrow morning just to be sure because two days is not normal for me I have never had a two day period before.

Yes I may be mad but tis very strange....

lardylumps · 22/05/2008 20:08

Welcome lastbox come and take a pew....

liahgen · 22/05/2008 20:12

ok ladies.

First i'm ttc no. 6 not 7!! dilema??

Lo is 13mths next week, I am 41, I will be 42 in September. No sign of periods normally until totally stopped breastfeeding.

The plan was let nature take its course, let dd wean herself off breast naturally whenever, then if i get pg brilliant, if not, well maybe it wasn't meant to be rather than stop feeding her, to aim for pg, only to not conceive anyway due to advancing years, or any other reasons.

Problem is, now I really want to have another baby, so am in turmoil about whether to stop feeding dd in next couple months.

What do I do? Dh is easy with whatever i want.

liahgen · 22/05/2008 20:13

oh and another thing LGT ??????

lardylumps · 22/05/2008 20:17

Hello Liahgen. How often is your lo feeding at the moment, is she ready to be weaned of the breast?

Squack · 22/05/2008 20:17

Welcome lastbox! (can I call you prepg?)

I've noticed we get through a load of threads!

liahgen · 22/05/2008 20:19

Hi Lardy,

Left to her own devices she feeds -
morning on waking
mid morning on napping
mid afternoon if indoors for nap
bedtime
during night, once maybe twice

past couple days have cut out daytime feeds and given her drink when she started looking.
but feel bad about that now

Squack · 22/05/2008 20:21

she's an OWL!

liahgen · 22/05/2008 20:24

lol at owls I am indeed, still learning though...

lastboxoftampons · 22/05/2008 20:26

Of course, Squack you can call me whatever you like! Unless I do by some miracle actually get PG and then we'll have to think of something new!

As for my vitals - we're TTC no.1. First month trying was January and got pg right away. Unfortunately ended in mc at 11 weeks We're now in our second post-mc TTC cycle after waiting for one period after mc. I'm 31, DH is 35 (how the heck did that happen?!?!? ) living in London. Oh, and just in case I say something funny/you don't understad - I'm American although just got my British citizenship in November so not as dodgy as you'd all like to imagine

Starshinetiger · 22/05/2008 20:28

Hi All,
Haven't managed to catch up last couple of days.
Nat - so pleased for you, is fannytastic news!!
Glaksham & for you, but glad you feel relieved and happy about your decision - always a sure sign you've made the right decision.
Welcome Kooky & Lastbox and welcome back Liaghen - can't help with your dilemma I'm afraid, but hope someone can.
My DS is 20.5 months, so don't think I'm on a similar age gap to anyone else.
Kay - don't worry about eczema - agree with everyone else that it isn't necessarily about nuts. DS has really quite bad eczema. It is definitely affected by dairy and eggs so he has neither (wasn't really a surprise - he's been on hypoallergenic formula since 3.5 months when they made me "top him up" with formula and we introduced foods very carefully), have avoided steroid creams as much as possible, but when it's really bad we do use them as they definitely help. All sorts of things can cause eczema - even just changing one thing, like the routine, or the bath oil/shampoo/washing powder, etc. DS' always gets worse when he's cutting a tooth, but on the whole it doesn't bother him, we just keep it under control with calendula cream (homeopathic). Have been seeing a homepath for 4 months and she has prescribed a remedy, which he's had 3 times and it definitely helped, but mostly it's usually just something they grow out of. I would say, unless you notice something, which actually specifically aggravates it - e.g. keep a diary of any new foods you introduce, any changes in products you use and how the eczema is and if it is triggered by anything, you might see a pattern, e.g. new washing powder - washed his top in it, he wore it and then 2 days later, eczema worse - then just keep doing what you're doing and see what you can use to help it not bother him.
Sorry for long post - right off to eat dinner.
Hope I didn't miss anyone...
Might just dash on over and bags a seat on the waddle wagon for -July- when I get pg! [ grin]

Squack · 22/05/2008 20:29

I'm feeling rather MN loved today.

I've been waved at and mentioned a few times on different threads

maybe i'm on here too much?

NaaaaH!

liahgen · 22/05/2008 20:29

Naaahhhh

lardylumps · 22/05/2008 20:34

Liaghen I think you need to be totally happy with what you decide. If cutting back on day feeds has made you feel bad then maybe you are not ready to stop right now..

How did dd react when you stoped her feeds..

Oh sorry to cut it short I have been told off and told I must finish up now... so I will be back tomorrow see you all then...

PS i have just tested (just to be sure you see ) and BFN so roll on CD8

Squack · 22/05/2008 20:35

Liahgen your kiddies are beeeeyooootiful!

you simply have to have another, the world needs more beautiful children.

Ds2 weaned himself at 13 months but he was only having it for first am feed and afternoon feed and if he got hurt/upset, so my periods had returned.

I'm sure i read somewhere that it's the night feeding that delays menstruation, but don't quote me.
I do seem to remember that stopping the night feeds resulted in periods around about the same time iyswim though.

liahgen · 22/05/2008 20:36

thanks for the response. Yeah i don't really feel ready to stop feeding her yet, but am so afraid i will leave it too late.

Maybe mother nature knows more than me. She is ok in the morningbut is crouchy in afternoon and i know she wants booby, bless her.

We are going to Cyprus next week and it's probably a good idea to be feeding her to make sure she is hydrated.

liahgen · 22/05/2008 20:37

Annie is crouchy in the afternoon not mother nature btw.

thank you Squack, we think so, bless em.

Squack · 22/05/2008 20:39

Absolutely!

I think i would still be bf'ing him now if he hadn't stopped himself. Infact I know I would.

Trust Mother Nature I say. When she's ready to give up she will and be all the better for it.

God I miss b'fing!

More than i miss baby-kicking actually.

happynappies · 22/05/2008 21:19

Hi to the newbies - welcome on board!

Liahgen - I read your dilemma with interest. I'm still bf my 18 month old dd. She gradually cut out the daytime feeds herself, but I knocked the night feeds on the head when she was about 10 months old, because she was waking every 3-4 hours, sometimes every 2 hours, and I was losing my sanity! So, now she feeds at 7am and 7pm. I wonder if your lo will reduce feeds in such a way - or whether you would need to stop bf completely? I think [racks brain trying to remember] my periods came back when dd was 6 months old though...

Diege - yes, I remember you are an AQA examiner - my exam board is the AQA but I teach Psychology, so can't bribe you!!

Glakhsam (sorry if I've got your name wrong - it isn't on this page anymore) - was really sorry to hear that things have gone pear-shaped with your friend, but it does sound like you found out just in time. good luck persuading dh for another

Squack - have just had quite a heated lively debate with dh about HE. Will continue my research now you've got me started, and we'll see where it takes us. Thanks again for your help!

I have some ttc questions which I hope the experts out there will be able to help me on.

Now - when I planned to ttc in May I thought I'd play it by ear, find out when I was likely to ovulate, GOF around and about that time and I imagined as I fell pg first time with my dd that that would be all there was to it. Now AF has arrived, I'm panicking (which I know is counterproductive but hey ho) about 'wasting time' as in, how many months will this go on for - if my dates are inaccurate and the GOF's are at the 'wrong' time... so - do I just chill out for a bit longer or should I buy some sort of monitor or sticks or what?? What is the best thing to get? I really want to maximise my chances now - I thought my cycle was quite predictable, 28 days, but with the early spotting (what I thought was an implantation bleed, ho hum) this week - am lost... Just wondered if anyone can shed any light on what to buy/where to buy it from and how to use it so that I can get pg in June.
