Heyy, I’m tracking for ovulation but the tests are confusing me a little. My cycles vary from 28 days to 32. So not sure when I’ll ovulate. So I’m taking the test morning and evening. But they’re all over the place.
I did one this morning and it seems a little darker but pre mom only gave me a score of 0.2
anyone know what on earth is going on? 😂 will post a pic of all results. Anyone else going through the same? Getting worried I won’t ovulate at all. No cm or anything yet. Flo says I come into my fertile stage tomorrow. But the ovulations tests aren’t looking positive x

keep testing is all I can say. I test multiple times a day when I think I am close because my peak comes and goes in a flash. For instance, this cycle in the morning I was 0.4 but 2 hours later the OPK was so dark and I got a reading over over 1. It has jumped straight up. Stick with it, and do a few tests in the day if you aren't sure.

Thankyou! How many times a day should I test? I normally do FMU and then evening?x

Best advice is to test at the same time(s) and in the same room with the same lighting. It would be silly to compare pictures where the lighting etc is different as results won’t appear accurate.

My cycles are a lot shorter than yours (around 26 days on average)

I usually ovulate by CD 11/12 so I start tearing much earlier.

I always take the pic in same room ect and with flash on. I’ve been testing since cycle day 6. Just hoping I get a positive soon 😩x

I can only go from personal experience, and some might think it's overkill lol. but I'Il test maybe 4 times a day (if I can WFH then I literally test every time I have to go haha). I think for some women their LH surge is quite gradual where as for others, like myself, it is quite rapid, so I know if I don't test a lot I might miss it.

I just did this one which is showing 0.3 on Premom. Should I keep testing today?? X

This is my little diary. All the older tests look a lot darker now they’re dried lol but I think the one I just did is the strongest I’ve had so far x

it looks like they are creeping up then. Go with what you are comfortable doing.. It can be quite consuming doing it a lot.

Just keep testing and if your periods are regular, you'll slowly start to see a pattern on when you ovulate. Good luck!

MummaToDAndJ · 07/05/2025 18:06

starting to feel very crampy and boobs little sore. Hopefully signs ovulation is coming soon🤞

First month doing OPKs and I found my groove with them after a few days. Don't use FMU as LH doesn't rise until after around 10am. Late morning and afternoon are good times. Drink nothing or very little and hold your wee for at least three hours or as long as you can. Agree with pp about the quick surge. The night before my surge the test was 0.35 and then the next morning it was 1.42.

MummaToDAndJ · 08/05/2025 09:43

Still no closer 😒

try and not fret too much, I know it's hard. I was the exact same last week. I didn't get my peak until CD16. The night before my peak my level was 0.19, then by 11am the next day it shot up to 1.64. Just keep testing. I would eye ball your tests as well as uploading them on to the app, I've found the app to not be 100% with the figures sometimes.

SureLook · 08/05/2025 10:54

What @2Sugars2 said!

2Sugars2 · 08/05/2025 11:09

@SureLook I've seen you on the other threads... we know all too well about being in the OPK trenches!!

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 08/05/2025 11:32

Your shouldnt use your FMU - they say around 10am is ideal for a morning test and then around 6 for the evening test - mine are pretty much exactly the same as each other and then boom peak - it dosent seem to get gradually darker like some peoples.

SureLook · 08/05/2025 11:33

@2Sugars2 oh that we do! I'm starting to recognise lots of names on different threads 😂

Just keep testing. I’ve seen some ladies on here don’t ovulate until CD17/18! Just keep going and you’ll see it eventually. Also, as others have said, FMU isn’t necessary for LH tests as it rises around midday x

There's still time for it to shoot up. You might be ovulating a bit later this cycle. Keep testing 💪🏻

My cycles are normally 32 days but last months was 28. So they vary between 28-32.. it’s so stressful 😂x

Honestly with tests coming back at the levels yours are I wouldn’t be testing more than twice a day, they aren’t dark and don’t appear to be heading towards a peak so I wouldn’t waste the tests. When ttc both times I would start testing more frequently once I could clearly see that I was heading towards my peak so a reading of day 0.6/7+

I’ve got over 300 tests so I’m not really too worried about wasting them lol, I thought I’d have ewcm now, but I have that mixed with the thick creamy stuff? Sooo confusing x

I never got on with urine OPK's, despite a D21 blood test showing that I do indeed ovulate.

I used a re-usable, saliva OPK for years. Mine was called 'Maybe Baby' and I bought it abroad, but no one in the UK has heard of them! You can buy them, and other brands, online and in the end, works out MUCH cheaper than 100's of urine tests.
