@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 I know there’s so many things that have to line up to get pregnant but others make it look so easy. I’ve got 3 friends (younger)who announced pregnancies in the past month and they hadn’t even tried, one is on the pill and the other took the morning after. I’ve always been quite positive about it but I think those 3 really got to me as I’ve been throwing everything at this for 9 months. I know my time will come but I feel like I’m the only one at the moment who can’t get there. I can’t even begin to imagine how it would feel to see two lines on a test.
The hycosy can be booked once my husband gets his own reports sent on. He filled out the form incorrectly and the private clinic can be slow with documents so I’ve resigned myself to having to wait another month unless they all get their act together miraculously by the end of the day!

That must be so hard to see everyone around you getting pregnant with no effort involved :(
How old are you if you dont mind me asking?

Clara202 · 20/05/2025 13:44

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 I’ll be 39 in July

GrizzlyTheBear · 20/05/2025 13:57

@Clara202 if you do end up waiting another month at least you will have a full cycle of BBT by then. You'll be armed with vital information by this time next cycle! At least it will be a productive month; it's so much better when you can actively do something which can help, rather than just sitting about hoping.
Most women can conceive at 39, though it may take slightly longer. Some are unlucky of course, but I wouldn't worry about your age at this stage. It's probably not the reason (if there is one).

Clara202 · 20/05/2025 14:09

@GrizzlyTheBear no I actually don’t think it’s the reason either, my results in terms of AMH and AFC are pretty good. Initially I was concerned my age would mean those figures could be quite low but thank goodness they weren’t. I am thinking more now towards possible progesterone issues, a blocked tube or husband’s morph. My issue with another month is as it’s a public hycosy appointment it will delay our referral for funded IVF, should we need it. Every month feels precious now. And while my age hasn’t been an issue so far, or so I believe, my figures could drop drastically in a year or two, reducing the chance of a pregnancy further, or if I was lucky enough to have one, reducing the chance of a sibling. I know I’m being a little negative at the moment and this has been a very lucky thread for others, so I will try to put it all to one side and hope that everything eventually lines up for me.

SureLook · 20/05/2025 15:22

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 I think that's a good plan. It's the least stressful one anyway. I'm the same. I'm trying to embrace it but my loss is always in the back of my mind.

@HopefulCove send us in a pic tomorrow!

@Clara202 keep us posted. I conceived my first at 34 and had her just after I turned 35. I'm 37 now and will be 38 when this baba is born. All going well 🤞🏻
You're not being negative. This is a safe space to let everything out. It is a very very hard journey. We're all here for you x

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 it used to really annoy me when friends would make it seem like they “accidentally” fell pregnant. I almost wouldn’t believe them because so many stars have to align for it to happen!! Or maybe I was just trying to make myself feel better.

this is my 4th pregnancy with only 1 living child, so I’m actually finding it hard to even feel excited about this pregnancy… especially given the most recent I saw the heartbeat at 6 weeks ☹️

Your time will come, it’s just a horrible painful wait xx

also I’m 31, 32 in November.

@SureLook I will send an update pic tomorrow!

HopefulCove · 20/05/2025 21:13

Sorry meant to tag @Clara202in previous message, not @VanessaShanessaJenkins99🙈

Clara202 · 20/05/2025 21:17

@HopefulCove I can understand that, much as all I want are two lines on a test, I know that if/when it does happen there’ll be so much more ahead of me. I really hope that things go well for you over the next few weeks/months.

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 22/05/2025 10:47

So i tested again this morning - i was due on yesterday - and the test line hasn't changed at all, its barely visible - so I'm guessing it was maybe a chemical? I have tested one of the tests in water and it was absolutely negative so i know that the tests I've done are picking something up but nothing is really changing - so i guess I'm just waiting for AF to show up and then go from there!
I am gutted but it is what it is, it was only my 2nd cycle, the doctors have said i can have a blood test this next cycle so I'm trying to be positive about that.

GrizzlyTheBear · 22/05/2025 11:25

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 oh no 🙁 I really hope it's not a chemical. If your period doesn't turn up in the next couple of days maybe worth getting a Clearblue Weeks test? I only say that because I assume you are using ICs, and I have sometimes found that they only do faint lines and that you can't really see progression on them. It seems to vary by pack though.

I'm usually ok with the abbreviations but whats an IC? Haha

SureLook · 22/05/2025 11:58

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 IC is an Internet cheapie. So a bundle of cheap tests you order online. I agree with @GrizzlyTheBear they can be so crap. A digital one might be a good idea, especially since AF was due yesterday. What tests are you using now?

Ohhhh i see! Yeah I get the Easy at Home box - so many Ovulation tests and so many pregnancy tests.

SureLook · 22/05/2025 12:16

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 I've seen a few people on here say they don't like the easy@home as a pregnancy test. I ordered the actual Premom ones and found they were quite good. I'd try a digital so you know for definite.

I will :) I've been saving it until i was 100% sure but I'm going to have to use it to find out whats going on.

GrizzlyTheBear · 22/05/2025 14:01

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 make sure you use FMU if you want the weeks to be reasonably accurate. Sure you know this, but they're so expensive I didn't want you to waste it if you didn't!

SureLook · 22/05/2025 14:38

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 will you test tomorrow morning or wait another few days?

OP posts:
VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 22/05/2025 15:08

Thank you @GrizzlyTheBear & @SureLook - i will make sure its FMU and i think i might do it Saturday morning - gives AF an extra day to show herself lol.

SureLook · 22/05/2025 15:12

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 fingers crossed for a BFP. Keep us posted x

Of course :)

HopefulCove · 22/05/2025 19:22

I 2nd what @GrizzlyTheBear and @SureLook said about the IC tests being crap. I didn’t notice much line progression, but I’ve also been doing clear blue alongside and my progression on those have been so much stronger! So definitely try another test brand! Fingers crossed for you x

Yay for you @VanessaShanessaJenkins99!!!

how is everyone feeling? I’m SO bloated and have a weird cramping, stretching, “full” feeling on and off all day! But appreciating every minute 🥹

GrizzlyTheBear · 22/05/2025 21:34

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 that's amazing! Hoping it hangs on in there ❤️

@HopefulCove no symptoms here yet, except I went off coffee yesterday. I don't feel sick yet, but coffee is just wholly repellent now 🤣 Sounds like you are having a tougher time!
