I have the opposite problem when I’m pregnant… all I want is Tea and Coffee and it’s a real problem 😅😂

HopefulCove · 22/05/2025 21:41

are any of you going to get an early scan? X

SureLook · 22/05/2025 22:16

@HopefulCove I'm not too bloated yet but I have the same heavy full feeling. By the end of the day my stomach is hard as a rock! I was just about to ask the same question about scans! I'm going to book one for seven weeks which is also the week of Father's Day. If all is well I'm planning on getting a from "the bump" card for my Dad who has cancer. I announced my pregnancy on my DD that way but for my Mam on Mother's Day.

@GrizzlyTheBear I hope you weren't too coffee dependent 😂

HopefulCove · 22/05/2025 22:23

because of my history of having a partial molar pregnancy I get offered 2 weekly scans up until I’m 12 weeks! Which is great (unless you get bad news) 😅😂 but I am MANIFESTING that is not going to happen and then is my rainbow 🌈 🤗 so first one is already scheduled for 16th June all being well! X

SureLook · 22/05/2025 22:27

@HopefulCove sorry to hear about the partial molar. That must have been scary. That's great that they're keeping a good eye on you though. And yes, we all need to manifest positive vibes!

I think i will definitely get an early scan - maybe 8 weeks ish?
I feel so sick, i dont know if its purley coincidental and ive got a bug but i had to go to bed at 7 last night! 😫

GrizzlyTheBear · 23/05/2025 08:39

No scan for me I don't think. I haven't done that with previous pregnancies and I just don't feel it would help me much. And it definitely wouldn't help my bank balance 😆
I'm excited to hear about all your scans though!

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 hope you feel better soon and it was a blip. You don't want to start morning sickness at 4 weeks 😬

Adca · 23/05/2025 08:58

Hi everyone, I hope you're all keeping well.
I tested negative yesterday, swiftly followed by AF so ready to go again for another month.

Can I ask if any of you take any supplements to help or anything else you do/did that you feel might have helped get your BFPs?

I'm going to buy a thermometer today to start tracking my temp to see if I have any luck with that.

On what cycle did you get your BFPs?

GrizzlyTheBear · 23/05/2025 09:06

@Adca aw I'm really sorry 😔
This one was cycle 5 for me. While TTC I track BBT, don't really drink alcohol, and am healthy. That's the total of what I 'do' to help conceive. I have PCOS but I take inositol and I think the PCOS is under control.
Good luck with the BBT. Hopefully it will reassure you that you have normal healthy cycles.

Ah i am sorry to hear that :(
I too have PCOS and take Inositol which does seem to have made my cycles regular, they are longer at around 35 days but at least i have some idea roughly where I am in the cycle. I also take Maca Root - i did this when i conceived my son 3 years ago and i got pregnant on the 2nd cycle of trying with him. And then i take low dose asprin, the Seven Seas trying for a baby supplement and then the doctor prescribed me a higher dose folic acid as i am a bigger woman!

Testing you BBT is a good place to start, Do you test your ovulation?

SureLook · 23/05/2025 13:46

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 hopefully just a coincidence 🥴 I'm gonna go for a scan at seven weeks. I'm planning on giving my Dad a from "the bump" card for Fathers Day which lines up just after seven weeks.

@GrizzlyTheBear you have been cool as a cucumber since the previous thread. I admire you 😂

@Adca sorry to hear AF has arrived ❤️ I properly tracked my ovulation this month and used conception specific lube. I just take Omegas and folic acid. But to be honest I think my cycles had just settled down post MMC. I was ovulating later and had shorter cycles so there just wasn't enough time. I ovulated earlier this month and caught. This was cycle #3.

HopefulCove · 23/05/2025 18:55

@SureLookwhen will 7 weeks be for you? (Date wise) we will have to keep eachother posted!

Hahaha @GrizzlyTheBear agreed, you are so laid back! I think we all need to take a leaf out of your book 😅🤣

@Adca I just take a Folate Acid and Omega 3,6&9 or a general ‘conception’ multi vitamin. TMI but do you notice a lot of CM leading up to your ovulation? Because you might benefit from using a pre-seed type lube. Or I’ve seen loads on TikTok about people taking Mucinex leading up to ovulation (which is basically found it cough syrup) as it loosens mucus all over your body so apparently has helped some ladies fall after months of trying with no success. I’d say this is cycle #2 of us properly trying but cycle #3 since I got the all clear after my MMC finally cleared. X

SureLook · 23/05/2025 19:06

@HopefulCove I will be seven weeks on the 9th of June so 7+6 on Father's Day. What about you?

HopefulCove · 23/05/2025 19:10

You’re 1 week ahead of me! I’ll be 7 weeks on 15th June. 🙂🙂

@HopefulCove week sisters 😂

@GrizzlyTheBear@VanessaShanessaJenkins99@HopefulCove@SureLookThanks all.

At the minute I just take folic acid and track ovulation with my Clearblue monitor. I've had varying cycle lengths so I'm not sure whether that's something to worry about or not. It's always clear when ovulation is as it identifies a few highs then 2xpeak, usually another high then low but I don't get any figures like I see on some other people's, it just shows low, high or peak. We DTD on the highs and peaks (exhausting! 😂)

I feel like I need to be trying more things so I'll start with recording my temperature and taking supplements. Is it best to take temperature first thing in the morning?

@HopefulCoveyes, plenty CM so I don't think I need to worry about that but something for me to consider. I wouldn't have thought about that so thanks for mentioning.

SureLook · 24/05/2025 06:25

@Adca what are you using to track ovulation? I used the Premom app and found it very useful. I wouldn't worry about the figures, just when you get your peak. I don't track BBT cause my toddlers sleep can be up and down. But @GrizzlyTheBear swears by it! A GP told me before all you need is folic acid and vitamin D and Omegas. The folic acid I take has vitamin D in it.

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 24/05/2025 08:38

@Adca BBT must be done first thing in the morning, before you open your mouth or even think! 😆 There are plenty of help articles online on how to do it. You need a thermometer with two decimal places, and I recommend using the free version of Fertility Friend to log your temps just because it's the easiest to interpret. Good luck!

Adca · 24/05/2025 12:06

@SureLookI'm using the clearblue advanced fertility monitor but considering making a switch as the test sticks are getting quite expensive now. It didn't matter so much the first time round as we fell pregnant quickly but with it taking longer I might opt for something else once this batch is finished (hoping I won't need any more - positive thinking!). I'm going replenish my folic acid tablets today. I like the Healthy Start ones as they've got the vitamin D in them.

I can sympathise with your toddler's sleep being up and down - mine is the same. I keep telling myself she'll sleep when she's a teenager 🙈

Adca · 24/05/2025 12:07

@GrizzlyTheBear😂 noted. I'll take a look at the apps, thanks! ✨

SureLook · 24/05/2025 12:16

@Adca I know some people use cheap OV sticks and then use CB when approaching their peak. I just used the easy@home and the Premom app. Yes! Positive thinking that you won't need anymore! Solidarity on the toddler sleep 😂

So i took another test today and its still saying 1-2 weeks? I dont want to stress about things that i dont need to but does that seek right? I got a positive ovulation test 17 days ago - are those weeks tests accurate?

GrizzlyTheBear · 24/05/2025 20:05

So you are around 16dpo, or 4+2. You would expect to get 2-3 weeks from two days ago, assuming the tests worked perfectly. Guess what, they don't! The 2-3 week result is the least accurate of the three, with an 84% accuracy rate. I actually looked this up last night to decide when I'm going to use my last Weeks test so that's how I know.
So you could be getting that result because the pregnancy is not progressing, or it could be you're in the 16% of women for whom it's not perfectly accurate. I don't think you can tell at this stage . If you are still getting 1-2 a week from now that would be a bit worrying, although you do hear anecdotes on here about people with healthy pregnancies for whom the Weeks tests never worked properly.
It's nerve wracking waiting at this stage 😔

Thank you - in normal everyday life im usually such a logical thinker but the whole ttc/pregnancy just makes me such an over thinker and worrier.! This came up when i googled it too.

At least we avoided Christmas babies!
SureLook · 25/05/2025 06:22

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 TTC/pregnancy makes all logic go out the window! As @GrizzlyTheBear this is the nerve wracking waiting stage. I'm sure all is well!
