Thank you 🤩 I’m 10+3. my 12 week scan is on the 21st July…

Not really. I’d say the fatigue has hit me quite hard over the last few days but it’s hard to know if that’s pregnancy related or just my life 🤣 the sickness never returned from like 8 weeks and my boobs aren’t that sore anymore. But at my 9 + 5 scan she said she could already see the placenta so I guess that kicks in earlier than 12 weeks for some people which could explain for us both the lack of the typical 1st trimester symptoms?

GrizzlyTheBear · 07/07/2025 12:19

@HopefulCove oh, interesting 🤔 I didn't realise the placenta could kick in that early. Well it's good news for you anyway - who wants to puke their way through the first trimester when they could just have a nice enthusiastic placenta! Good job, Mini-HopefulCove!

SureLook · 08/07/2025 12:06

@HopefulCove sorry for the delay also! We were out all day on Sunday and then I was back to work on Monday so it was busy busy!

Delighted that your scan went well. Fingers crossed for smooth sailing from here on in 🤞🏻

Very little bleeding still. Only small amounts on a pad. Mostly there when I wipe. I actually tested on Sunday morning and it was much fainter. Still obviously there but way way fainter. I'll test again this Sunday.

@GrizzlyTheBear hopefully the placenta has just taken over and all is well 🤞🏻

TMI incoming. When I was using the bathroom this morning I could feel that there was something in my vag. I gave a little push and there was a definite plop. I fished it out and it was a firm bit of tissue about the size of my index finger. I presume that was the actual sac? It's obviously been slowly making it's way out 🤷🏻‍♀️

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 09/07/2025 11:12

Oh yikes, I guess that's why your bleeding hadn't stopped yet. I had some retained tissue with my MMC and once it finally came out the bleeding totally stopped within a couple of days. Hopefully that'll be it for you 🤞

HopefulCove · 09/07/2025 14:14

@SureLook oh I think that’s a good thing! Like @GrizzlyTheBear said, your body was probably slowly trying to get rid of the remaining tissue so now that’s gone hopefully the bleeding will soon stop and you should hopefully speed up the process of getting a negative test! X

SureLook · 09/07/2025 15:44

Yeah, I'm hoping that's it now and the bleeding will stop. I'm gonna test again on Sunday so let's see then!

OP posts:
SureLook · 10/07/2025 20:06

You were right @GrizzlyTheBear no bleeding at all today so I think it's stopped! Hopefully I'll test negative soon.

How is everyone else?x

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 10/07/2025 20:24

That's fab 😊 Hopefully that's it over (physically anyway).
How are you feeling about what you're going to do next? Skip this cycle, or TTC?

SureLook · 10/07/2025 22:24

I think I'll have one period and then go again. DP is happy to do whatever I want to do. I'm anxious but looking forward to it at the same time 😊

Hi all :) ive been away for a week so haven't been on - great news @HopefulCove ! @GrizzlyTheBear not long to go now :) xx
Sounds promising @SureLook - are you back at work?
Ive had a week of not tracking ovulation so who knows if i ovulated whilst away! We did dtd every day though so if i did im well covered !

SureLook · 13/07/2025 00:26

Hi @VanessaShanessaJenkins99 sorry, we were out and about all day. How was your time away?
The bleeding has 100% stopped now. Yep, I went back to work on Monday and it was fine. The girls are very supportive so it was nice.

I got my appointment with the RCM today - March 2026!!! They said it was a 3-6 month waiting list but that makes it 9 months!! I didn't think it would be that long. I thought Christmas/early New Year at the latest. Hopefully I'll be successfully pregnant before then or I'll get a cancellation 🫠

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 14/07/2025 20:37

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 that sounds nice and relaxed. Hopefully you got lucky!
@SureLook Sorry if you've said before but what's RCM?

SureLook · 14/07/2025 20:41

@GrizzlyTheBear sorry, I got it wrong. It's RMC - recurrent miscarriage clinic in my maternity hospital.

GrizzlyTheBear · 15/07/2025 09:47

Ah that makes sense 🙈 That does seem like a very long wait. I guess health services in Ireland are in a similar boat to the UK. Here's hoping you fall pregnant and never need to go!

SureLook · 15/07/2025 10:55

@GrizzlyTheBear yes, it appears they are! Hopefully that will be the case.

How are you? Your scan must be soon?

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 15/07/2025 15:33

@SureLook It's tomorrow actually, but I had a bit of spotting yesterday so I'm sure I'm going to MC again. I never did think it was a sticky one - not at all happy to be right though.

SureLook · 15/07/2025 20:13

Aww, I'm so sorry @GrizzlyTheBear it could be nothing though so let's hold out hope 🤞🏻❤️

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 16/07/2025 13:02

Oh @GrizzlyTheBear - everything crossed for you that its nothing!!

GrizzlyTheBear · 17/07/2025 08:19

Thanks both of you, but unfortunately another loss for me. We are actually on holiday next week so we can get some much needed time away from everything and chill out a bit, then back to reality and deciding whether to try again. It feels really endless right now, like if we try again it will surely just be another loss, so it feels a bit pointless since we do already have two kids iyswim. But will rethink after the holiday!

Oh my word i am so sorry !! Did you got for a scan? Sounds like the holiday as come at the right time. XX

SureLook · 17/07/2025 09:26

@GrizzlyTheBear I am so so sorry to hear that. I was thinking about you yesterday and assumed the worst when you didn't write in. I'm so sorry, it's so shit. What did the scan show? Was it another MMC?
I know what you mean about trying again. We've said if we have another loss, which would be out third in a row, we're gonna leave it until the appointment. I can't keep going through it!

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 17/07/2025 19:52

Technically not an MMC as it did start spontaneously a couple of days before the scan. I think having now had both that a standard MC is not as difficult to deal with for me anyway, as it isn't such a nasty shock iyswim.
@SureLook I totally understand not wanting to try again immediately if you have three in a row. Although I think (could be wrong) that most of the causes of recurrent miscarriages don't really apply if you've had a full term pregnancy already, so most likely it was just bad luck. Still scary though, and for me I'm acutely aware I'm late thirties now.

SureLook · 17/07/2025 19:57

@GrizzlyTheBear yeah, I understand what you mean. The shock of an MMC is massive.
Oh, that's interesting. I hope, for all of us, that it is just a case of bad luck. I am hopeful for third time lucky 🤞🏻 I'm the exact same! I'm so much more aware of my age now. Can't help but think that isn't helping at all!

Is there any follow up now for you? Or is it just let it continue at home and test negative?x
