Also I wouldn’t worry about symptoms being different this time around @GrizzlyTheBear with my successful pregnancy I felt pretty much normal from like 7 weeks onwards!!

GrizzlyTheBear · 19/06/2025 21:03

Yikes @HopefulCove that sounds really horrendous. Are the meds helping at all?

SureLook · 19/06/2025 23:21

@HopefulCove I really hope the meds work for you 🤞🏻 nothing worse than that horrible feeling all day.

Haha! Potty training is still going quite well. No accidents in creche on Tuesday but she had some today and yesterday. She's recognising when she needs to go but sometimes just can't quite hold it. She's been great though!

Hey girls! How is everyone feeling? Xx

SureLook · 23/06/2025 09:51

Hello! I'm not too bad, thanks. Enjoyed the amazing weather over the weekend. I've had spotting on and off since Saturday evening and a bit of a rumbly tummy. The feeling in my tummy is gone but the spotting is still there but very light. Only there when I wipe, nothing on a pad. I'd say my body is starting to recognise that this is a non viable pregnancy.
How are you doing?x

HopefulCove · 23/06/2025 09:55

Yes the weather was soooo nice! I’m sad it’s Monday 😭

Oh I think if that is the case, it’s the best case scenario if your body can recognise and sort out on its own. For me the worst part of both my MMC was making the decision on what procedure to go with.

Im hoping for you this sorts itself quickly and your body can get back to its usual routine x

I’m ok, feel like my symptoms have subsided since I hit the 8 weeks 1 day mark which is obviously causing some concern but I just can’t spend my life worrying it’s not going to work out. Like if it doesn’t work out then it is what it is and if it does, I don’t want to spend the whole time worrying xx

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 23/06/2025 10:10

Morning :)
All good with me - bought some of that Coq10 - have been reading up over the weekend about that - so we had a chat yesterday and said that this month we are just going to not think about it - not track anything etc - have a month of taking the supplements etc and then when we come back off our little holiday we will try again. I had a killer headache yesterday which is usually a sign that my period is coming but i cant see how it can be - the bleeding from the miscarriage only stopped early last week!.
Would you rather @SureLook that it happened naturally now? Are you off work this week?.

Have you had any scans? Apologies if you have said lol - i just tried to read back but couldnt see anything! xx

SureLook · 23/06/2025 10:52

@HopefulCove with my MMC I was dead set on a D&C as I wanted it to be as controlled as possible. Now I'm wondering if medication would be enough as there's less to pass this time presumably? But I would want to be scanned afterwards to make sure its all gone. I don't want to wait for it to happen naturally as I wanna get on with things and move on as quickly as I can. It's been nearly two weeks since we found out now.

What option did you go for for your MMC?

I think that's a good attitude to have. We can spend our whole time worrying for nothing and not enjoy the pregnancy at all. I'm sure it's just hormone fluctuations x

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 sounds like you've a great attitude towards it all. I wonder is your headache your hormones settling back down again?

I'd be happy enough for it to happen naturally but I would still want a scan to confirm everything is gone. I've read so many horror stories about there being some retained products and having to have surgery anyway so I'm a bit conflicted. Yeah, I'm still off work. I wouldn't be able to focus and I'd be worried that I'd start to bleed. When I bled on my MMC it was like turning on a tap!

2 Weeks - it really doesn't seem that long ago! When i had my MMC i opted for the D&C - i just wanted it to be done and over - the thought of doing it at home and then something going wrong and still having to go back in and have the procedure worried me so much.

GrizzlyTheBear · 23/06/2025 11:39

@SureLook it would be much easier if it happened naturally wouldn't it. Hopefully as you were earlier on it would be less full on bleeding wise than the MMC. Do you have another scan booked?

@HopefulCove oh symptom loss is so stressful isn't it. It's annoying because you are half worried, and half relieved from the break from the sickness! I think it's really common for symptoms to come and go so hopefully everything is fine.

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 are you going somewhere hot and sunny? I hope so! Good idea to take the pressure off for a month.

I'm fine, still a bit sick on and off, but still worried it's not enough for a viable pregnancy. I'm 9+4 now and have a dating scan booked so will see in three weeks. I'll be so nervous!

SureLook · 23/06/2025 11:53

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 I know, two weeks of being in limbo! That's the worry, that I'll just end up needing the surgery anyway. I'll talk to them tomorrow and see what they say.

@GrizzlyTheBear even for logistics it would be easier if it happened on its own 😂 less organising and planning to do! That's what I'm hoping as well. That there's less to pass this time cause it's only a sac. I've my scan booked for tomorrow morning but I'm sure I'll be waiting over an hour like I was last time.

I'm sure all is fine with your pregnancy. Just symptoms fluctuating up and down!x

Whitby 😬- itll be lovely im sure - plenty of things for the 2 year old to do! And its a week off from work so that'll be nice!

GrizzlyTheBear · 23/06/2025 14:03

@SureLook oh wow, good luck for tomorrow. Really hoping it's either a good outcome or at the least it's decisive xx

HopefulCove · 23/06/2025 19:27

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 yes I had a scan at 7 weeks 3 days and all looked ok… I have another on 2nd July when I’m 9 + 2 (that’s the one I’m definitely most anxious for 😭)

@SureLookI had a D&C both times - the first one was such a positive experience, my levels dropped back to 0 within like 3 weeks (which was super quick given it was a confirmed partial molar) the most recent one I had was not such a good experience. Left behind 3cm of retained tissue which meant I was HEAVILY bleeding for like 3 months. I had the surgery late November and my levels didn’t drop until end of Feb. I think if I had another MMC at a lesser gestation then I would try the tablets next time… but only because that would be my 3rd D&C and C-Section so I’d be worried about scarring. but like you said, pros can are that it can be very quick and painless if it goes well so it’s hard! 😩 especially when you have a toddler at home. Xx

GrizzlyTheBear · 23/06/2025 19:50

@HopefulCove oh goodness did we totally miss your scan? I'm sorry! That's amazing that it was all good 😍 I take it there was a heartbeat then?

Oh wow thats amazing news about your scan!

Good luck tomorrow @SureLook xx

HopefulCove · 23/06/2025 22:52

thanks both! Yes baby was measuring correctly and I saw a heartbeat 💓 praying this is finally my rainbow. 🌈

Hope all goes well tomorrow @SureLook keep us posted. Has the spotting got any worse? Xx

SureLook · 24/06/2025 15:17

We're back from the scan now. All confirmed like I thought it would be. The sac had grown but still empty with nothing in it. I've opted for the medical management this time which they also recommended as there's less to pass. So I'm going to start the tablets on Thursday morning when my partner finishes his shift, just so I have someone around in case it kicks off early. I've to go back on Thursday morning for the first tablet and they're going to refer me to the RMC and then we'll go from there I suppose! Feeling exhausted now, it was an emotional morning.

@HopefulCove I'm similar to you in that I had a very positive experience with my D&C but I was hesitant this time. I'm worried about potential damage and the general risks of another surgery. It's always daunting going in for any type of surgical procedure I suppose.
I know I could have a terrible experience with the tablets as well but it just appealed to me more this time. I'd rather be at home with my home comforts.
The spotting is the same. Still up and down. Tiny amounts on a pad twice and there's been some stringy kind of bits as well. You never know, I could pass it myself!

Delighted to hear your scan went well ❤️ How are you feeling apart from the anxiety?x

GrizzlyTheBear · 24/06/2025 16:01

@SureLook I am so sorry. I know you were expecting it but it's still really hard hearing a final confirmation 😔
If you go for medical management I recommend getting some decent pain relief like cocodamol or something from the pharmacy (assuming the rules are the same in Ireland). Just to have in the house in case. I had medical for my MMC and it was like bad period pain but I hear some people experience worse. Best to be prepared in case. Also, hot water bottles are amazing.
So sorry you are going through this again xx

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 24/06/2025 16:09

@SureLook Echoing what @GrizzlyTheBear has said - even though you were expecting it its still an awful situation to be in. Sending Love xx

SureLook · 24/06/2025 16:52

Thanks @GrizzlyTheBear yeah, that's it. I felt sick in the car on the way in. Just the dread of it all.
Thanks for the tips. I'm gonna ask them about pain relief on Thursday morning when I go back in to take the first tablet. The doctor said at this stage for a blighted ovum it will most likely be like a bad period but everyone's experience is different. Also read a lot about hot water bottles and a hot bath x

Thanks @VanessaShanessaJenkins99 appreciate the support x

Glad you have a plan in place @SureLook and I think right move to try the tablets, especially if you’re already spotting. I can’t wait for you to be back to normal and back on track for your rainbow 🌈

Well I feel even more anxious this week because I suddenly feel not pregnant anymore 😓 gone from having such bad nausea and sickness that I needed medication to feeling fine… so I’m really trying not to freak myself out but it’s hard. Next Wednesday feels so far away!! X

SureLook · 24/06/2025 21:21

@HopefulCove thanks so much ❤️

Symptoms can be so up and down, come and go. I'm sure all is perfectly fine x

@HopefulCove argh that's nerve wracking isn't it. Mine's much the same, up and down. I know it can be a bad sign, but also can be perfectly normal, so it's just another thing sent to try us. Next Wednesday will come round before you know it.
