I think the only reason I am thinking of not telling my Mum and my Parents in Law etc is that they will then know we are trying for another baby and I just dont want that pressure, do you know what i mean? I will confide in my 2 best friends and i know my husband will be fantastic. xx I do feel a bit teary today, maybe its because i know hes home tonight xx

SureLook · 16/06/2025 11:42

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 I totally understand that. Sometimes the more people know the more pressure you feel cause you know they know!
Yeah, it's having to say it out loud that's hard. I cried with the GP cause it was the first time I said it out loud. Everyone else was over text. Just let it all out x

Thank you - to all of you - this has been my only place to talk about this - from the clear blue weeks worry to now. xx
@SureLook are you off work today?

GrizzlyTheBear · 16/06/2025 12:30

Yeah I agree, this group has been fab. It makes a huge difference being able to share your worries with random people doesn't it. Even though I don't hold back with my husband it's just helpful in a different way I think xx

HopefulCove · 16/06/2025 12:34

I was saying the same thing to my partner! It feels nice to have somewhere you can talk about things you wouldn’t talk to your friends in “real life” about 🥰🥰

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 16/06/2025 12:37

And because i know that the worries i have had, no one who hasnt been pregnant and/or lost a baby will understand - its fine for my husband to just say try not to worry, or we will just to wait until the scan - but he will never be able to understand that feeling. You guys are amazing xx

SureLook · 16/06/2025 12:43

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 it's a great group ❤️ that's it, unless you've been through a loss you don't understand!
Yeah I'm off work since last Thursday. I just wouldn't be able to face work. Plus I've now tested positive for Covid so I wouldn't be able to go in anyway. I'm not as sick as DP though thankfully. On the plus side, potty training is going very well so at least there's something 😂

@GrizzlyTheBear I agree. Something about talking to women as well makes it easier.

@HopefulCove exactly, we can let the crazy out here 😂

GrizzlyTheBear · 16/06/2025 12:54

@SureLook nothing like being stuck in the house sick to help with potty training! I think we were stuck inside for about four days with our first before we dared go out 😆

SureLook · 16/06/2025 15:13

@GrizzlyTheBear I know, we haven't left the house yet 😬 she'll be in creche tomorrow which is a five minute drive so that will be our first adventure 😂

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 17/06/2025 08:48

I think we can safely say thats now negative xx

At least we avoided Christmas babies!
GrizzlyTheBear · 17/06/2025 09:41

Oh I'm so sorry 😞
How are you doing? And how's your husband?

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 17/06/2025 10:25

To be honest i think looking back when i was worried about the clearblue weeks not progressing and how it stuck on 1-2 for ages, i think i thought then that something wasnt right, and maybe i never really fully believed that i was actually pregnant and that it was going to end in having a baby - maybe that was self preservation after having a MMC before - im not sure. But i do feel ok. I cried when i told him but i think it was more relief that i could talk to him. I slept so well for the first time since he went! The bleeding has all but stopped. xx

GrizzlyTheBear · 17/06/2025 12:59

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 aye the Clearblue Weeks tests are a nightmare because sometimes it is an indication that not all is well, but you can't be sure that's it because some people do have odd results but healthy pregnancies. It's torturous.
Sounds like you are both handling it really well. Have you decided if you are going to try again this cycle?

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 17/06/2025 13:22

I think so to be honest - it was only our 2nd cycle of trying this time round so i would hate for it to put us off. And id like to think im being proactive by ttc again. Ill speak to my husband, i know he worries about things and i know hes upset that i went through this alone. After the MMC i opted for the D&C and it took him a good 4 months to even contemplate trying again, i dont think he was expecting me to come back to the ward on a bed, pretty zoned out on a drip! I think it really knocked him for a while!

SureLook · 17/06/2025 14:12

Aww @VanessaShanessaJenkins99 I'm so so sorry. It's so shit and unfair. You sound like you're doing really well. I'm glad to hear you slept well, that always helps things. Are you still going to go to the EPU today or have you been in touch with them?x

I spoke with them and she basically said that it sounds very much like i passed the pregnancy on Friday night/ Saturday morning - she said that if i were in no pain and the bleeding was managable then she would advise to just let nature take its course - She said to take a test a week after the bleeding stopped but i took the one i uploaded the picture of earlier and its negative so whatever has happened has happened pretty quickly. Im worried at how calm i feel? I said to my husband last night that the MMC hit me like a tonne of bricks as it was such a shock but this time i just feel at peace with it? Maybe in a week or 2 it will hit me?
How are you doing @SureLook xx

SureLook · 17/06/2025 16:31

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 it does seem like it's finished, especially with the negative test.
I understand the feeling of calm. I'm definitely not as upset as the MMC. I think, like you said, an MMC is just such a shock that other losses maybe aren't as shocking. I'm definitely not as upset as I was in January. I think it's cause there wasn't a little baby on the screen this time. I think as well we don't allow ourselves to get excited again unfortunately.
I'm not too bad, thanks. I have Covid now and I'm feeling pretty rotten so I'm in bed starting to binge MAFSA. I'll only go for my scan on Thursday if I'm testing negative. I wouldn't want to put other pregnant ladies at risk so I may have to delay it!

GrizzlyTheBear · 19/06/2025 08:08

@SureLook how are you feeling? Good enough to go to the scan?

SureLook · 19/06/2025 12:16

@GrizzlyTheBear the last few days were so so rough. Nausea, dizziness, zero energy. This is the worst dose of Covid I've ever had. I had a blazing positive Covid test yesterday so I rang the EPAU and they said to wait until I'm negative so I'm booked in for Tuesday. I expected it to be fair. Plus I honestly feel too rough to go and sit on a hard plastic chair for over an hour.

How are you today @VanessaShanessaJenkins99 ?

OP posts:
GrizzlyTheBear · 19/06/2025 12:38

Oh no that sounds awful 😞 I hope you are on the up again soon. Take care ❤️

VanessaShanessaJenkins99 · 19/06/2025 14:28

Oh no @SureLook ! My colleague was off work all last week as she had Covid and she said it was absolutely horrific! She had the original Covid back in the day but she said this strain was 10 times worse! Fingers crossed you will be feeling better soon!
Im feeling ok thank you :) bleeding totally stopped, i wore a pad yesterday as i was still a bit anxious but there was nothing. My husband is struggling a little bit with the guilt that he wasnt here and that i had to go through it on my own. Which i totally understand. The timing couldnt have been worse! But there was nothing we could have done to stop it. I started taking my supplements again this morning - i was taking them up until i started bleeding and then stopped as it seemed pointless!

HopefulCove · 19/06/2025 14:43

Hope you get better soon @SureLook♥️ I know it sounds weird but probably has taken your mind off things a bit because when you feel that ill you literally care about nothing other than getting better!!!

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 glad to hear things feel like they are getting back to normal for you after everything.

@GrizzlyTheBear how are you feeling!? How many weeks are you now xx

GrizzlyTheBear · 19/06/2025 14:58

@HopefulCove I'm okay at the moment thanks. Still not sick enough I don't think, so very suspicious it won't end well. I'm 9 weeks now so I think this is the peak of the pitiful sickness!
How are things with you?

SureLook · 19/06/2025 17:01

@GrizzlyTheBear thank you ❤️ do you have your dating scan? Hopefully this pregnancy is just different symptom wise 🤞🏻

@VanessaShanessaJenkins99 it's honestly been the worst dose I've had! Ah, your poor hubby. The timing really couldn't have been worse for you, always the way! I'm glad you're feeling ok ☺️

@HopefulCove yeah, it's definitely been a good distraction alright!

I had to get some anti sickness medication prescribed yesterday. I’m struggling really badly to even get through a day at the moment ☹️ - just hoping the medication makes it more manageable! I’m 8 weeks tomorrow so very aware that I’m probably not been at “peak” of morning sickness… but just trying to take it day by day and hoping for a positive outcome x

@SureLook is potty training still going well!? If so I am very jealous 🤣
