Tips on how to not test before missed period

I tested early on my two pregnancies before and had two successful pregnancies then I had an early miscarriage and a chemical miscarriage last year and I was trying my hardest not to test early because of the heartbreak I experienced from the last two times. I’ve been trying this month and hoping I get a positive next month but I don’t know how I am going to stop myself from testing early, I worry so much after having the miscarriages anyone else finding it hard not to test so early x

Gosh, you both on the countdown to the anatomy scan?! It's crazy how time flies. Well sometimes, anyway. I'm just super glad it's half term next week and we're off to Disneyland Paris, so hopefully I'll be 5 weeks in a blink of an eye. Then DD2's birthday the following weekend - history DARE not repeat itself on her birthday weekend....

Oh gosh, is that why my flights to the uk are like astronomical all of a sudden that week?! We've had our last half term of the year, just on the long 8 week slog to the end of school start of July.

You'll have to keep us updated on the disney trip, sounds like lots of fun! I keep meaning to look into it to take my two as it's only a drive for us but I never do 😅

How is your cycle going for you so far @EMC2022 ?

@LaTable so not doing the ovulation tests didn't stop me from testing early. I'm somewhere between 5 and 12 dpo (app says 9dpo).

I tested yesterday and it was a negative. Still plenty of time though so hopeful it might change! I had felt oddly hopeful this month but I am starting to realise symptoms mean nothing!

@EMC2022, yep those symptoms will get you on bfn months too! But you're right, still very early so hopefully you've got it this month!

@curliegirlie how are you doing with your bfp? Feeling good still? Even though super busy packing etc haha

It's all good so far. 13dpo and AF is no show and I have these two on the bottom for today.

32c here today, took the girls to the lake and the pool, got sunburnt on my semi bump in the car like an ant under a magnifying glass and only got kicked twice in the belly while swimming 😅😅

Disneyland was amazing, thanks! We all had an amazing time, managed to pack in pretty much everything we wanted over the 2 days, the parades and fireworks were fantastic too. However, I’m very aware of the privilege of DD1 having a Priority Pass, which meant much much shorter queues! DD2 will have a sharp shock if she ever goes to a theme park without her sister 😂.

And I returned to these beauties. Pretty sure they’re darker than they ever got last time, so starting to allow myself to breathe a bit….4+6 today.

Hahaha I think the waiting is why I've been putting off any disney...

Nope, gynae refused the referral. I’m carrying on with the aspirin I bought though. But those lines give me so much hope 🤞🤞 Will test again with the pink line week detector on Tuesday when I hope to reach over 1000miu, then Thursday when I hope I’ll get 3+ on CB.

Hey @LaTableno update. Technically in the TWW now but last BD on Friday, OPK high on Saturday, peak Sunday morning, presuming ovulation Monday, so not feeling super positive this month as much as I would love this to be our month! How are you?

@LaTable I'm currently on CD41. Not pregnant but seems like something in this universe is testing my patience. I think AF will be here in the next day or two, just a small 10 days late 😅

The second trimester is freaking exhausting for me. Never been so tired but I didn't get any exhaustion in the 1st so maybe I'm playing catch up 😅
Also I think my youngest loves baby more than me. Any cuddle or kiss I get is directed at baby 😅😅

I had to take a final pregnancy test this morning to check my chemical has completely finished up. Was negative so I can focus on this month.

As a distraction I am aggressively painting the entire house! Our beautiful, lovely 2.7% mortgage is up next February and we want to move anyway, so trying to make the house more saleable with white walls to a high finish. Most of my house has been bright or dark colours up till now.

@LaTableI went slightly early with my last digi and got my 3+ earlier tonight 😁. No, not going to go for an early scan, despite it being tempting at times. I’d just worry it would provide false reassurance.

@EmPeEf I had a chemical a few months back and I also took off doing house renovations, painting etc. I think it was good to channel it all into something useful. Best of luck for the next cycle 😊

Losses suck. I ended up actually starting on baby's room on my last loss 😅 (complete renovation, from floor boards to actually putting walls and electric in) so absolutely get throwing yourself into the painting @EmPeEf

@EmPeEfagreed that throwing yourself into projects can be a great distraction and something else to focus on when you’re feeling crap.

This HAS to be an indent....? I'm only 8dpo and this was with my 6pm wee! You may ask why I did it then... I just like peeing on sticks! I mean, obviously I don't want it to be an indent (positive thinking) but don't want to get my hopes up....
