@Daniki very random question, but I thought I'd ask you since you've recently been through it. When you initially decided to do IVF, did they give you a personalised success rate so to speak, before committing to it?
My husband has randomly come around to the idea of doing it! He was even researching it lowers last night!
We've said we'll see how the medication goes for a couple of cycles and if not then do a round of IVF. Really want to find somewhere that will give an initial indication of success probability.
I'm thinking it would be good to stay with the fertility clinic I'm at already as they'll have all my investigations, but I can't see anything about if it's all or nothing if that makes sense.

Sorry for the rant 😂.

Also, how are you feeling today?

OP posts:
Daniki · 15/02/2025 11:04

@Marie1990x yes they did we went in for a consult with the doctor after going through full medical history with the nurse. Going by history they will give you their statistics they think you will fall into. Good for him for coming round though , if anything it just takes the pressure off! I'm feeling ok just really fed up and tired as my son was up half the night 🤣

Marie1990x · 15/02/2025 21:22

@Daniki ah that's good to know. Will mention it to my consultant at the next appointment and see what he says. Might be able to give me a rough idea since he'll have all my results from everything already.
Oh noooo not what you need 😅. Hope you've managed to catch a break today

@Marie1990x defo do, and I would defo advise both you and your husband investing in some decent supplements to really make the most of egg and sperm quality! Takes 3 months at least. I did actually I went home to get my hair done and went for dinner with my friend(hairdresser) and not long home now and my son is bed so will just relax for the evening 🥰

Marie1990x · 15/02/2025 22:59

@Daniki thanks for the advice 😊 is there any your recommend? I'll have a look into it and start them soon as will probably help with the medicated cycles too.
Oh perfect, sounds like you managed to relax and enjoy some you time 😊

OP posts:
Daniki · 15/02/2025 23:11

@Marie1990x defo the high strength coQ10, like up to 600mg but it works out quite expensive. My husband took the proceive for men and a coQ10 but like a 200mg dose and vit D. I took the same but also took NMN powder for the 3 months before egg collection as read good reports on its effects on egg quality 🥰

Marie1990x · 16/02/2025 08:07

@Daniki great, thank you 😊. I've been taking "max strength" coq10 but it's only 300mg. Which did you use?

Have you done any more tests over the weekend?

OP posts:
Daniki · 16/02/2025 08:14

@Marie1990x I took a 300 and a 200 together 🤣 I know in Ireland you can't on prescription but I never bothered, even tho I should of! Wonder can you in England? I did I test this morning 13dpt, left it yest and the test is as dark if not darker than 11dpt! So hopefully it's a slow grower and be ok 🫣

Marie1990x · 16/02/2025 08:39

@Daniki haha that was what I was thinking, just take 2. It's so bloody expensive isn't it for coq10! But needs must.

Ahhh that's amazing. So glad it seems darker 🥰. Did you manage to get your bloods booked in for Tuesday?

OP posts:
Daniki · 16/02/2025 09:01

@Marie1990x not yet I'd say will contact me tomorrow if I might ring my gp and see can he fit me in instead! What about you testing away any sign? 🤞🏻

Marie1990x · 16/02/2025 09:19

@Daniki oh that looks better doesn't it! As dark as the test line now 😍😍.

Yeah I just tested now and bfn so onto the next! AF is due Tuesday so will see what March brings. I don't feel too bad though as I just think it's 1 more month of trying before having to stop for the hycosy, then hopefully the following cycle I'll have my medication 🤞🏻

OP posts:
Daniki · 16/02/2025 09:55

@Marie1990x ah sorry it's BFN 😖 but good mindset to be in and you have all these things happening now which is great. Takes the pressure off which is a bit thing too. Hycosy just round the corner which is great 🙌🏻

Marie1990x · 16/02/2025 22:09

@Daniki yeah definitely. I've been reading some good stories from people taking letrozole and after the hycosy as well, so here's hoping 😊.

Keep me updated with your journey 😊 x

OP posts:
Daniki · 17/02/2025 09:44

@Marie1990x definitely! Really hope the medicated route works for ya instead of going down the ivf route. Even tho I haven't found it too bad it is a lot of meds etc 🤣 and expensive. I will indeed, I am in to get my bloods done tomorrow with GP rather than go back to clinic as it's a 2 hr drive and just can't justify it with work! X

Marie1990x · 17/02/2025 21:31

That's much better being able to go to your GP rather than trapsing 2 hours! Will you get the results same day? Everything crossed for you!!!!

Yeah absolutely, hope it works but if it doesn't I'm glad husband is on board with potentially IVF. Will see what stats the consultant will give us first before 100% deciding. So much money, if it was guaranteed it would be a no brainer wouldn't it

OP posts:
Daniki · 17/02/2025 21:36

@Marie1990x absolutely! The fact you have a child already tho is a massive plus, could be simply down to an egg or sperm issue, hate how it can be so complex 😓 had a tiny bit of spotting there and twinges in my side so I'm definitely prepared for the worst and just hope it all happens quickly 🤞🏻 no prob be Thursday when I get the results, so annoying 🤣 but I'll test again in the morn and see how it's looking! Bought a clearblue weeks indicator, even tho I hate them, but intrigued to see what week it would give! 🤣

Marie1990x · 17/02/2025 21:42

@Daniki nooooo I really really really hope not! Don't forget spotting and twinges can be completely normal in early pregnancy. Don't blame you for being guarded though and wanting to mentally prepare, but hopefully it doesn't come to that. Have you tested today? Agh really hoping it's your time

OP posts:
Daniki · 17/02/2025 21:48

@Marie1990x I didn't this morn as wanted to leave 2 days between tests, but took a boot cheapie, the 25miu one and it was a bit lighter than I'd like but it would of been only an hour hold wee so I just disregarded it! Will see how the other one compares in the morning to Sundays one! Ah I know but iv never had a good outcome with it before so it's just a habit to think the worst 🤣 strangely I am ok, my worst fear is an ectopic or a drawn out miscarriage so if it is a chemical I hope it happens quick and I can plan the next one 🙈

Marie1990x · 17/02/2025 22:25

@Daniki yeah definitely best to keep testing with the same ones. Especially with the cheapies not being as sensitive, don't think I ever got a blazing positive with those.
Hopefully it's not an eptopic. If your bloods are still off what will they do then?
Well hopefully it doesn't come to that, but what would you do if it does? Another round?

OP posts:
Daniki · 18/02/2025 07:13

@Marie1990x yep we have 4 embryos left on ice! So my tests this morning are the darkest and a line stealer and the clearblue says 2-3. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow so thought it would be 3+ but happy it doesn't say 1-2! Get my bloods done at 12 tho so will see in a few days what they say!

Marie1990x · 18/02/2025 07:33

@Daniki oh that's amaaaaaaazing! Hopefully it's just been a slow burner but getting there now 🥰. Such good news, hoping it continues for you and your bloods are very positive!

AF has just arrived bang on time. Relieved tbh as last month I had weird spotting before which I never do and 4 days late

OP posts:
Daniki · 18/02/2025 07:58

@Marie1990x does your progesterone be low? I have low progesterone in general so I always have that brown spotting before AF sometimes from 9/10dpo! You should have a fun relaxed month this cycle before your hycosy! Yea hopefully just a slow burner, god the wait to get results will kill me 🤣

Marie1990x · 18/02/2025 08:49

@Daniki I've only ever had 1 progesterone blood test and it was 59 so seemingly no issues with that, I think must have been a one off.
Yeahhhh we will try again this month but will try to keep it relaxed and not overthink everything. I'm not going to buy any HCG tests (famous last words 😂). When I was inputting my AF into my app, it came up with the new cycle stats and if we conceived this month it would be the same DD as my daughters 🤣 she was 2 weeks late though. Would be typical though.

Aghhh I bet! Thing is, if it wasn't IVF and you finally got your dye stealer you probably wouldn't even think twice about it would you. Will they call you with the results and/or send them to your fertility clinic?

OP posts:
Daniki · 18/02/2025 10:16

@Marie1990x exactly! Some clinics don't even do blood tests so you would be happy days with these tests waiting on your viability scan and probably going in to brought down to earth 🙈 the nurse will text me the results she's very good! Yea prob a one off, and do try and relax this cycle but of course I know how hard that is 🤣

Marie1990x · 18/02/2025 12:30

@Daniki perfect that she'll text you the results 😊. Hopefully it is quicker than you think!

Haha yeah, I'm not sure how well relaxing goes with ttc 🤣🤣
