Just wondering if anyone else wants to join, for those of us who will be obsessively counting days and line checking over the next two/three weeks?

Pretty sure my LH peaked on Sunday - but by the dates it should be more like this coming Saturday that I’ll ovulate. Intending to keep trying all week to hopefully get something to stick.

Had a chemical last month - cycle 8 ttc for our first.

I'll join you! I think I ovulated on Monday but I only tested then and it wasn't quite peak, tests are fainter now so I think I missed seeing my true peek as I wasn't testing.

MummyV2021 · 30/01/2025 16:51

I'll join in too! Set to ovulate tomorrow based on my surge happening today (waiting to test again later to confirm my peak). Slightly concerned I haven't really had any EWCM this time around and I usually have it for a good 2-3 days before I ovulate! Trying not to read too much into it, but after a chemical in Sep and an early MC Dec it's hard not to overthink! Cycle 6 TTC our 2nd. Glad to have some company during this inevitable TWW! Good luck to us all :)

Figtree11 · 30/01/2025 17:19

Hello, I think I ovulated yesterday based on OPKs. I’m TTC my first, following 2 MC over the last 18 months. I’m now on metformin following a new pcos diagnosis & this is the first time ever I’ve ovulated to a normal cycle timeline.
Good luck to us all!

NoIdeaWhatImDoingAtAll · 30/01/2025 20:10

This is the worst bit, I had a chemical last month so I told myself to not worry about tracking this month but I caved and tested after my peak I think. So I'm very much guesstimating where I am 🙈

Tomato888 · 30/01/2025 22:25

Hi everyone, I'll join too! I'm using Natural Cycles and it tells me I ovulated Monday. This was 2-3 days earlier than expected but luckily we caught it because I felt ovulation pains on Saturday night and followed up up with OPKs. I'm 37 and this is the first month trying for #1 so I know it could take a while but its so hard not to get my hopes up! Good luck everyone!

RRB · 31/01/2025 00:58

Hi everyone 👋. Nice to have some people to talk to who are going through the same stage.

@MummyV2021 do you always het EWCM - I’ve never had it and I worry that means I haven’t actually been ovulating all this time 🫤. I know everyone’s different but you can’t help but weigh up good signs against bad ones.

My predicted fertile window ends on Sunday - and then we wait. It’ll be nice to have company this time!

Does anyone wait the full two weeks or when do you all start testing? Just making chit chat not wondering about “when is too early to tell” type of question.

@RRB i don’t test early. I have in the past, so totally understand why people do. But I prefer to live in hope for as long as possible & just have 1 day of disappointment when AF arrives instead of a few days of seeing BFNs

MummyV2021 · 31/01/2025 10:22

@RRB generally yes I do, obviously only been paying attention the last 6 months so no idea longer term if it varies but the last 6 months I usually get quite a bit for 2-3 days before ovulation so weird it's not this time. It's not completely dry down there but def not like it usually is. If it's something you never tend to get I've seen some people talking about pre-seed which is a conception friendly lube so might be worth you looking into. I've obviously done a bit of googling this cycle and the consensus is that you definitely can still conceive but if you don't have EWCM it's a harder job for the sperm and can slow them down. We've DTD enough times the last few days so I guess we'll see in a couple of weeks if it's had an impact!

In terms of testing early, I've been a devil for this in the past but going to resist this cycle as it just drives me mad and the tests end up costing a fortune!! I'll be due AF around Valentine's Day so might have that as the day I do it!

I’ve seen pre-seed, although I fell down a rabbit hole and then couldn’t tell if it helped, hindered or was neutral in the end. Either way, I’ve put some in my Amazon basket so I’ll give it a go next cycle. I do think I had a chemical last cycle - although sometimes I convince myself it was just my imagination, false positives from internet cheapies, or evap (even though I read the results in recommend time frame). TTC really changes something about you, I never used to be this obsessive!

Oooh fingers crossed for you for Valentine’s Day, how sweet would that be 😍.

Ive not decided yet. I want to wait, but if I start to feel symptoms (imagined or otherwise) I don’t think I’ll be able to resist. 🫣. Know thy self and all that.

Yea - I get that. I’m really going to try and wait this month I think. Those early chemical losses are hard to take 🫤, and obsessing over whether the line is getting darker or not is no fun.

It’s the hope that this time is gonna be it though. It’s very hard to not to hope.

Been feeling slightly nauseous on and off today (guessing hormonal related to ovulation) and weirdly just been sat here at my desk and felt this really strange fluttering sensation in my lower left abdomen... did a quick google and apparently that can be the follicle stretching to release the egg! So weird, never had that sensation for ovulation before! Anyone else? If I didn't know I wasn't pregnant I would swear it felt like a baby moving around in there for a second! I often get cramping when I ovulate, but not had that before!

Tomato888 · 31/01/2025 18:20

Really interesting about EWCM. I only get it for about a day and we missed it this time because I was away (though DTD later in my fertile window). Will bear in mind for next time if it doesn't work out this month.

Is anyone else having their first try this month? I know a few have been trying longer.

I don't think I'll be able to hold out until AF is due. I've already mentally decided to test next Thursday at 10dpo just to see! @Figtree11 's way of thinking about it makes a lot of sense though. Hoping I'll find more patience if this journey goes on a bit because I'm driving myself a bit nuts this time 🤪

Figtree11 · 31/01/2025 18:52

Weirdly I had the most ewcm I’ve ever had this cycle, but I am on metformin to help me ovulate so don’t know if that’s played any part in it.

@RRB i think even if we tell ourselves not to hope, we always do. But hope is what gets us through the tough times of TTC. Otherwise we wouldn’t put ourselves through it

@MummyV2021 I’ve not had that, but
I’m 2dpo and getting some cramps, I presume it’s the different hormones that do whatever it is they do regardless of whether you conceive or not.

@Tomato888 unfortunately for me I have been TTC for 18 months, with 2 losses & complications from that. I definitely used to early test, but I was making myself sad each time. It’s all such personal opinion on what works for you 😊

Strongbrewplease · 31/01/2025 21:02

Hi all, jumping on too as I got my peak yesterday so suspect today is O day! Just like you @MummyV2021

@RRB I'm hoping to hold out on testing this cycle, as it's technically cycle 1 ttc and I'm trying to pretend I'm relaxed about it 😅. We did plan on starting over Christmas but a weirdly short cycle and too many sickness bugs made that a bit too difficult.

Tomato888 · 31/01/2025 21:26

Sorry to hear about your losses @Figtree11 wishing for the absolute best for you this time xx

Haha, that’s what I really like about the idea of having a few people in similar positions - like to people in the real world I feel like I have to pretend I’m being super chilled and all it’ll happen when it happens …not the am/pm 8 days dpo I’ve actually turned out to be. 🫣

I get nauseous when I’m due to ovulate and crampy too. Like strange period pains, but more on the left or right side rather than in the middle.

I’ve never had the fluttering though - but that’s an interesting one. If you don’t already you should mark a calendar with the day and any symptoms. It’ll either be interesting to see if you were right, but also if it dose take a couple of tries you’ll be able to detect pattens to help. Super useful.

fingers crossed you’ll catch it on this try though 🥰🤞

I think I'm out this month. I had some blood when I wiped yesterday evening so I think AF is on the way today 😕

RRB · 02/02/2025 14:31

@NoIdeaWhatImDoingAtAll 😕. Not so good - I mean there could be lots of reasons for a little bit of spotting, but AF is one of them.

Let us know how you get on x

OP posts:
Tomato888 · 04/02/2025 13:43

@NoIdeaWhatImDoingAtAll hope your spotting has cleared up. Would it be usual for your AF to turn up this week if you ovulated wc 27 Jan?

Has anyone caved and tested yet? I did this morning with an Internet cheapie. 8DPO and got a BFN! Doh, no surprises there. I'll wait another couple of days and try again.

MummyV2021 · 04/02/2025 14:05

Still very early @Tomato888 so lots of time to get that BFP! I'm only 4DPO today so nowhere near time to test. In the past I've tested from 8DPO but really want to not do that this time - will see how I feel on Saturday!! Trying to wait until AF is expected which will be Valentine's day! Feels like a long way off though! I'm so fed up of living life in 2 week cycles... waiting for O then waiting for AF/BFP! Will be good to get the BFP and be done with all that for sure!

RRB · 05/02/2025 13:03

@Tomato888 - I cracked and tested too. Stupidly. BFN.

It’s so hard not to when you see people getting squinters at like 6DPO!! Dr Google does say that’s only like 10 in 100 that would show that early though - so as you already said you’ve got time! Everything crossed for you! 🤞🤞

What day do you count as the day you ovulated?

So according to my app my five fertile days ended on Sunday - which I think means it predicts Sunday as the day of Ovulation?

But my LH peak was 11 days ago - then say average ovulation happens 12-48 hours after that apparently.

So I could be anywhere between 10 and 3 DPO??

Either way it was still stark white. I’m on cycle day 30 and my cycle average is 38 days so I’d still be 2 days early on the 6 days before a period for the most sensitive clear blues.

You’re bound to feel that way - because it sounds like you’ve had a really hard run TTC this time around.

Who knows though, the metformin might just be the missing ingredient. I honestly have everything crossed for you that you get a super stick little bean 🤞🤞 xx
