Ive just had my appointment at the preterm clinic, wasn't expecting a scan so was nice suprise seeing baby doing well.

My cervix wasn't as perfect as she liked so ive been put on progesterone and have to have that till 36 weeks. Im assuming putting that in and staying in bed? Haha its abit of a worry but suppose im getting looked after. So more regular scans. Another one in 2 weeks time xxx

Hi ladies just catching up. So great to hear all the positive updates. It's been a bit of a shit show here at the moment. Sleep is few and far between as Sophie is trying to climb up everything and walk at the moment. Still might be a while off as she's only 10 months on Friday but her little brain can't seem to switch off at night so I'm shattered!

In other crazy news I got a positive test yesterday 😅 .. we weren't actively trying, and after so much hassle trying for her I honestly never thought it would happen so said I'd start my contraceptive injection by my 43rd birthday in October and let fate decide. We have only dtd like 5 times since she was born and I didn't even know I was ovulating. I realised I was a day late and had an old test there.. I nearly died when it was positive 🙈 Obviously still crazy early days and to be honest I'm in shock but booked into doc later today to possibly start progesterone.

Hope all you current mamas and those a few weeks along are keeping well xx

Omg @Sez281 !!! Congratulations! Must be a shock 😂

We're also in the trying to stand and walk stage..Ovies only 8 months and literally will not sit down, feel like hes going to skip crawling at this rate as he can already pull himself up on everything and stands for a few seconds unsupported now 💀

@Jadeypie its good they are looking after you ❤️

Hey, just catching up!

Oh @Sez281 I can only imagine the surprise! How are you feeling about it? I know it’s early days so you probably don’t know where your head is at the moment.

@Jadeypie or anyone really! It’s been pretty nice weather wise here this weekend so I’ve been getting my pram out to clear and air it. I’m definitely reusing that as I don’t want to buy a new one but is it ok to use my car seat again do you think? It will be it’s third time being used and bought it in 2018 so not sure if we should be buying a new one?

I would probably say new car seat but everything els second hand if you've got it.

Ive got to bed a pram is didnt keep james, I sold it because i hardly used it so I wont be paying out for one this time. Exciting you've got it out and washing it. How does it make you feel has excitement crept in yet?

Ive got a scan tomorrow to check cervix so get to see baby i crnt wait xx

Sez281 · 03/08/2025 10:30

Thanks ladies, I'm still on complete shock/denial to be honest! With Sophie I was testing everyday to check progression etc but I don't have time to even think about it. I've booked in with consultant for scan etc at 8 weeks so will wait and see what happens!

@Jadeypie no symptoms at all (I had loads at this time with Sophie) I felt a bit sick the last few days and have had a headache but I think that's more down to tiredness! Good luck with the scan tomorrow 🙏 xx

@xxcxdonxx I think the main concern with car seats is if you're getting them 2nd hand you don't know if they've been bumped around or in accidents etc but if it's yours and in good condition I totally would.. we actually put Sophie into a 360 one at 6 months so her original one we'll be using again (if all goes well)

Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

@Sez281 aww im sure those pesky sypmtoms will hit soon. I hope they dont the and ypu have a breeze of a pregnancy haha will you take pessaries again this time?

I had my scan yesterday all's well I definitely needed the pessaries as my cervix has improved loads! And mu dr said its perfect now so im glad that was checked when it was. Baby was being a bugger and wouldn't keep still haha xxx

Paws4thought · 06/08/2025 15:44

@Sez281 oh wow, congratulations!! Hopefully these first few weeks will fly by for you 😊
@Jadeypie glad the progesterone is working as it should! Im on them til 34 weeks as a precaution, not had my cervix measured. Not too long til your 20 week scan now!
@xxcxdonxx does it feel more real.now you're getting stuff back out? Have you got much prep to do in the new house?
@Westy22 sounds like he'll be running around in no time 🙈

I had my 20 week scan today, all looked fine and we're having a boy 😊

Jadeypie · 06/08/2025 17:38

Westy22 · 06/08/2025 20:32

Awww congratulations @Paws4thought 💙💙 baby boys are wild 😂

xxcxdonxx · 07/08/2025 12:33

Aww @Paws4thought that’s brilliant news, exciting now you can plan for your little boys arrival!

@Jadeypie great to hear that your scan went well, not long now until your 20 week one either.

We do have a bit of work to do in the house, we need some furniture for the kids rooms as well be using a wardrobe and drawers for the baby’s. I also need to get my loft floored as there are boxes in the baby’s room we need rid of! It does feel more real now though 🫣

Hope you are still keeping well @Sez281 💜

Sez281 · 09/08/2025 08:36

@Jadeypie glad the scan went well.

@Paws4thought aww congratulations on a little boy, so exciting 💙

Unfortunately it's another early loss for me. My tests didn't go up in weeks and I just didn't feel pregnant so I stopped the progesterone and started bleeding yesterday😢. I have an appointment with the epu next Thursday but hoping it will have all passed naturally by then.. I'm very sad as bad just got my head around it but at the same time I know how lucky I am to have Sophie 🥹

Paws4thought · 09/08/2025 09:43

@Sez281 im so sorry for your loss, its hard not to plan for the future even though we know how fragile it is. Extra cuddles for Sophie xx

Jadeypie · 09/08/2025 10:06

@Sez281 i am so sorry 😞 will be here if ypu need to talk! Sending you lots a love and be kind to yourself 🥰 little Sophie will help you 💖 xxx

Supertrooper101 · 09/08/2025 17:37

Just catching up! @Paws4thought jadey is right, boys are wild haha but so loving and affectionate... good to see all the other updates , bar one 😔 @Sez281 that must be alot of emotions all in a short time.... sophie will keep you strong... maybe crack out the ol dhea to give your bits a boost lol if you did want to keep trying. Your age dosent matter as you have successfully just had your little girl so i wouldnt worry too much about time ticking.

xxcxdonxx · 10/08/2025 14:27

Oh @Sez281 im so sorry. You will be grateful of course to have Sophie and that doesn’t take away from how you ste
feeling now. Experiencing loss when you have successfully carried babies is always a hard one to get your head around, I certainly found that.
Hope your bleeding hasn’t been too bad and you are doing ok xx
