Aw thanks @Sez281 💗

Paws4thought · 22/10/2024 05:49

@Sez281 thanks for starting the new thread. How are you getting on now?
@westy22 Hope you're healing OK and enjoying your rest :)

We've decided to be referred to Tommy's clinic in Coventry, I think wait time is around the same for there and my local hosp but they've been a lot easier to get hold of and I've seen the consultant recommended on different threads too.

I've seen great things about the Tommy's clinic! Really hope they manage to get to the bottom of things for you 💗

Paws4thought · 22/10/2024 08:37

@SnookyPook same, think that's what swayed me as my local hosp is more unknown :) how are you getting on? X

Westy22 · 22/10/2024 08:56

Thanks @Sez281 !

Glad you've got the ball rolling @Paws4thought ❤️ hopefully you get the right support and answers x

I'm so tired 🙈 feel like since finishing work my body has literally decided it wants to die now. Met with MW yesterday, thankfully babys heart rate was normal so I didn't need to go hospital. See her again in two weeks on my due date where she's offered a sweep if I've not already gone, also been booked to meet a consultant this week about an elective section if I get to 41 weeks as I think I'd prefer that that being induced....but we will see. Things are all getting scary now and it's so hard making these choices when you've never experienced any of it🙈 x

SnookyPook · 23/10/2024 16:14

@Paws4thought I've actually had a rough few days as got that horrible cold and sore throat that seems to be doing the rounds everywhere and it's really knocked me out. I'm feeling so crap!! Thankfully the booby milk seems to have done it's job and Samuel is just a bit congested but seems happy and not in pain 🤞🏼 He's doing so well. We've got our next weigh in next week - will have been a month since the last one so I'm curious and slightly apprehensive. He started refusing the top up bottles which I'm hoping is a good sign but might mean he's not been getting enough... So we'll see what they say!

Aw that's lovely @Jadeypie - would like to hear how you're getting on and what you're up to as well! 💗

@Westy22 aw getting so close. Good luck with these last couple of weeks!

Jadeypie · 23/10/2024 16:50

@Westy22 aww you'll be alright just get everything organised then enjoy the couch and a good boxset. Once babies ready you will be too xxx

Jadeypie · 23/10/2024 16:54

@SnookyPook thanks 😊 I've just beeing keeping to my health kick having a more social life and enjoying getting excited for Xmas with little man. He is really getting it this year. I do have the endocrinologist tomorrow. My cycles have gone up the wall again because I took myself off the metformin after my last loss so I'm hoping I can get back under the gynaecologist figure out what the underlining issue is but other than that I'm happy haha xx

Paws4thought · 29/10/2024 13:14

@Westy22 hope youre doing ok. Have you met with consultant?
@SnookyPook have you had Samuel's weigh in? Hope you're feeling better.
@Sez281 how are you getting on?
@xxcxdonxx have you moved now? Hope it's going well.
@Jadeypie that's lovely that you're keeping up with everyone. How did you get on with endocrinology appt?
@Supertrooper101 how are you getting on? I've started buying all the vitamins you recommended on last thread.... what doses did you take and what multi vitamin? :)

Westy22 · 29/10/2024 13:23

Hey!

@Paws4thought I'm good, 39+1 now and feeling it. Met with a consultant and have planned an elective section for 41 weeks. In the meantime I had a sweep yesterday, wasn't very successful as cervix was open at the front but not at the back yet but she did her thing to try and stimulate it to progress, going back Thursday for another go. I do feel like it's done something tho, starting to get a browny tinge discharge, lots of lightning bolts and a few twinges I've not felt before 🙈 woke up with loads of energy to clean the house 😂 so we shall see.

How are you doing? X

Jadeypie · 29/10/2024 13:45

@Paws4thought they have put me back on the metformin as it helps with the pcos and transferred back to the gynaecologist so just see what they say now. How are you feeling? X x

@Westy22 well it's all good signs if you ask me my first sweep didn't work but the second did and I started losing my mucus plug which was brown. I also woke up and scrubbed the bathroom floor on my hands and knees went into labour early hours the following morning. Keeping my fingers crossed baby's getting ready xx

Paws4thought · 29/10/2024 14:01

@Westy22 ooo sounds like things are happening then! I didn't even know the cervix bad a front and a back haha!
@Jadeypie ah that's good they've put you back on metformin. Hopefully wait for gynea won't be too long.

I've got recurrent miscarriage appointment start of January so not too far away, I'm a little bit torn about whether to try in the mean time but figure the next one could be fine or I might not catch before appt anyway.

Jadeypie · 29/10/2024 21:06

@Paws4thought oh I'm glad you've got a upcoming appointment! These waiting times are a pain though. It's a hard one but you do what's best for you! either that be trying or giving yourself a break (sometimes it's needed to reset mentally) xx

Supertrooper101 · 29/10/2024 21:06

@Westy22 your easy going into labour soon! Bet youve had him/her by the end of the week lol
@Jadeypie even if you arnt trying anymore. Hormones can be awful when out off whack so going back on the meds for your your own sanity sounds a good idea 🙂
@Paws4thought i wasnt on alot tbh, normal multivitamin, omega 3 high sttength, so more dha and epa than just fish oil. 2000mg vit c. 2000 vit d. Extra vit e, zinc and magnesium standard dose, erm, 75mg aspirn and dhea. Last one cos am over 40. So yeah actually. Shit ton 🤣 but i would take all that normally anyway pre trying so only extra was dhea and good version of folic acid oh n coq10 lol What i changed was no caffine, bar one cup of tea..accupuncture, warm foods lots of water and kept fit. Other half was standard omega 3, zinc, black maca and wellmans fertility. He was folic acid deficiant when we lost ours, so may see if your partner could have that tested? He also changed his dirt and kept active. Good about the tommys, is that under nhs or private.wil they give your partner another sperm test? Has he looked into how to improve it, maybe the sperm that needs help and not so much you?

Bit of a rollcoster here. She has silent reflux which is new to me and very scary when shes gagging/choking and its all trial and error how to help her. Really anxious all the time which dosent help i guess but we all know how that can take over!

Jadeypie · 29/10/2024 21:09

@Supertrooper101 sick of these pesky hormones haha! Awww, it's a nightmare, isn't it when they are so small and can't tell you what's up. My son had terrible colic till he started weaning! I remember walking the floors with him on zero sleep. I ust to end up sobbing with him. Hopefully you find what works for her soon xx

SnookyPook · 31/10/2024 00:13

@Supertrooper101 ah that sounds tough. Hope you're doing ok.

@Paws4thought thanks - he was 10lbs4oz - still keeping to his line! Found out if he'd been born a day earlier we'd be on the Preemie growth chart and he'd be 10th centile on that rather than 0.4th... 🤷🏼‍♀️ anyway, he's thriving thankfully! Doing everything he should be, just small still 🥰

@Westy22 hope you're doing well!

xxcxdonxx · 02/11/2024 05:13

Thanks @Sez281 for setting up the new chat. How are you all doing?

We have officially moved! I’ll be unpacking for the rest of my life but we are here ☺️

Sounds like you will be going any day new @Westy22 .

Thats good news you are going with Tommys @Paws4thought and that you have an appointment with recurrent miscarriage. Jan isn’t too far off to wait.

I’ve no experience with silent reflux @Supertrooper101 , hope you are both doing ok?

Hope you managed to get somewhere with your appointments @Jadeypie and love that you still like to check in, I’m the same 🥰

Hope you are both feeling better @SnookyPook and all was ok at Samuel’s weigh in appointment.

How are you getting on? @Sez281 xx

Westy22 · 02/11/2024 07:46

Still nothing happening over here 😫 had my second sweep on Thursday which she was able to do, have had some period aches but nothing that lasts. This baby doesn't want to budge. To top it woke up about 5am this morning feeling a bit rough like I'm getting a cold or something. Feel totally out of sorts atm, booked to go out for dinner this eve and I'm already regretting that 😂

@xxcxdonxx happy new home! Worst bit is unpacking 🙈

Westy22 · 04/11/2024 15:38

Due date today 🤍 no signs of baby coming anytime soon and full of a cold. I think I'll be heading for this section in a week, which scares me to death recovery wise so any tips would be greatly appreciated x

Hope everyone is well ❤️ x

A lot can happen in a week at the end of a pregnancy! However, if you do end up with the section, keep positive. Recovery wise, try to get up as soon as they encourage you. Little walks when you can. Keep on top of pain meds. Accept lactulose for your first post-op no.2. Take peppermint capsules for wind. My hospital provided all of those so didn't have to buy anything like that. Get some comfy high-waisted knickers that won't have a seam on your bikini line. A shower every day and let your scar have some airing time. You will be fine 👍🏼💗 However, come on Baby!! 🥰

Supertrooper101 · 05/11/2024 16:59

@Westy22 am shocked you made it to your due date tbh, but yeah anything can happen in a week. I second the big pants lol i had peppermint tea but didnt need anything for a no 2. And yeah keep on top of pain meds even if you dont think you need them. As for the actual section itself, just try and switch off from everything going on around you i guess.. wont they offer you an induction instead?
@Sez281 how you getting on, are things getting easyer now

Westy22 · 05/11/2024 17:22

@SnookyPook I hope so 🙏 really wanted to go on my own but nothing is budging it 😂 sweeps, s*x, spicy food, walking, bouncing on the ball, rasberry tea and literally it's like nope I'm staying in now ive got a cold it will probs decide nows the time 😂. I've got my pre op on Saturday so will double check they provide the stuff for wind and lactulose. How are you? X

@Supertrooper101 I've declined being induced as my gut is telling me I'd end up with a section anyway after a long drawn out induction process so I'd rather go in with a plan and know when it's happening then think I could be there for days. I tried 3 sweeps and they've done nothing lol got lots of big knickers at the ready. How are you getting on? X

Have any of you tried the frida silicone scar patches? Debating them 🤔 might research before tho, my consultant won't let me have a pico dressing as apparently my bmi or body shape doesn't warrant it which is annoying as everyone raves about them.

SnookyPook · 05/11/2024 21:32

@Westy22 haha that's how it was with my first. We tried everything. Finally waters broke at 40+6 but so trickly I wasn't sure it was that. Had to have them tested. Active labour started evening of 41 and he was born 1.33am 41+1.

Not tried the scar patches and also wasn't allowed a pico dressing. They were just very matter of fact like it's not warranted at your BMI and that was that. My scar has healed really nicely TBF! Been very pleasantly surprised. It's just a flat red line now and can imagine it just looking like a stretch mark in a few months. We're doing really well thanks 🥰 Almost 4 months now and Sammy is still smaller than some newborns 😄 but he is small and mighty. Development wise he's clearly where he needs to be so I'm not worried. Getting plenty of wear out of the 0-3 clothes though 😆

Supertrooper101 · 06/11/2024 10:21

@Westy22 had to google a pico dressing lol i just had a normal dressing on which was removed before i was discharged then used a maternity pad sideways to cusion it for a week. Part of mine is still abit scabby but my section wasnt straight forward so that bit was tugged at far too much. Rest is ok tho. You can put tea tree cream on it or germolene if your worried about infection. Best thing though is to air it as much as possible. I was trying to fink of anything else to promote labour but looking above you have literally tried everything lol could try upping your raspberry capsules?
